Mr. Chan class was great. I am not even great at Math and I manage to get a B in the class. He is very helpful. I probably was the most annoying person ever because I was always in his office asking for help. He takes the time out if you don't understand what you're during. Take his class if you want to move on to Int. Alg.

The class Is pretty simple he teaches the work you have test but you do less work problems than other math classes and have test after a couple sections not after every Section.Very good teacher clear about how to do the work.

Professor Chan has been the first math teacher I have EVER had that simplified this stuff for me. By providing a foundation for whats to come, I'm sure to do extremely well in following math courses. The best math professor I ever had, so I took him twice. He really is a nice guy that will guide you through every step. If you ever get lost he will take time to help you out. Just go to class, take notes, do your homework, and you will have a great grade. Test are not that hard. So take him!

He is the best math teacher EVER!!I know its sounds cliche but its TRUE!! I am horrible in math but I finished his class with a 96%. That was only because I didn't turn in a couple of homeworks. There is no way in hell you can't pass his class. Homework assigned every night except test days. No quizzes but you really ain't gonna need them to pass.

Second Algebra course I have taken with Prof Chan and twice I received an A. He breaks down each and every step to ensure we all understand what we need to know. We had an 8 am class and he came in at least 15 minutes early to answer any questions from our homework. HE ROCKS!!!

You need to show up so you don't get lost and you need to do homework and practice, practice, practice what he taught BUT if you do these things you will pass and do well. Tests are about 15 questions and directly linked to class lecture. Uses different colored markers to make sure you understand math concepts. TAKE HIM!!

Just show up to class and do your homework and you will pass. Classes end 20 mins early, HW, tests and quizs are about 10-20 questions. He really is a good teacher and makes sure everyone understands the lesson. He will help you no matter how bad you are math, I was terrible at math, I earned my first A because of him.

His tests are 15 questions no multiple choice, final is cumul that is multiple choice. HW is in MML and will review it if needed!

His tests are very clear and it's nothing tricky. Everything is from the lecture. I passed his class with an A. Take him !! You won't regret it.

We had 6 tests including the final and if you show your work you'll do well. He teaches clearly, but there is not multiple choice. If you get the answer wrong, but do the work right he'll give you like -1. He grades well and teaches well. Mymathlab is mandatory, but use Mathway and you'll get em done fast.

Best math teacher! He always wants to make sure you're understanding everything and will take extra time to help/answer/explain anything. Super helpful. No multiple choice on any tests, you have to write out everything. I didn't use the textbook at all. Just MML(My Math Lab) which you need for his class to submit homework. He made math super easy!

I've taken Chan for a few classes, and he is amazing. He breaks down every concept into steps, and makes sure to go over them until everyone understands. Even if no one raises their hand, he often do go through another example just to make sure. Does give partial credit on tests, and gives you 100% on MML if you get over 70% on each assignment.

His exams are not multiple choice, you have to know what you're doing, but if you actually do your Mathlab homework, you'll pass.

His 4 tests and 1 final are NOT multiple choice. if you do not do good with full answer tests then don't take. Do not buy the textbook. He is very good at teaching and making sure everyone understands. The tests are based on the HW so it is important you do them.

My man, professor Chan! He's a really funny professor, most of the class consists of lectures, but he keeps you engaged by asking questions, and giving interesting examples. He turns seemingly impossible mental gymnastics into simple to understand steps.

BEST MATH TEACHER EVER! He provides you with everything you need to know during class. Don't skip class because you won't understand the lesson. Mymathlab is used as a hw grade. There's hw after every lesson, but only need 75% to get full credit. Drops lowest test grade with the final if needed and the course evaluation is EC. TAKE HIM FOR ANY MATH

He's a bit fast but encourages questions. He uses some colored markers which is a good thing. Focuses a bit much on easy steps from beginner's algebra. Not a tough grader but do not underestimate his tests!! Very good with email help. Thankfully, posts all grades on Blackboard. Practice tests and evaluation are extra credit.

Professor Chan is an amazing professor. This is the second course that I have taken him. His lectures are easy to understand and he will go out of his way to help with any homework questions before the class begins. You will need the my math lab code but do not bother buying the book because you don't use it. The practice tests are extra credit.

He is very organized and gives tons of examples. He answers all your questions and makes you sure you understand the work. I would HIGHLY recommend!!!!!

I highly recommend Professor Chan, he teaches everything in the easiest way possible and answers any questions you have. Theres also opportunity for extra credit if you complete the practice test. He is caring and patient, if youre looking for a great professor who teaches in the easiest way possible pick professor Chan.

He was amazing!!!! The lowest grade I got on an exam was a B+, which was dropped. He is super kind and explains everything in great detail and he gives you good grading if your work is right on test, even if the answer is wrong as long as the work was right the grade was good. Loved him.

Best teacher Ive ever had! His lectures are so easy to understand, and if you have any questions hes happy to answer and evaluate on them. As long as you pay attention and do the homework you will pass!

took college algebra honors with professor kenny and he's honestly the best math teacher at PBSC. i'm not the best at math but ended with an A. he's very clear at explaining things and goes over anything when you have questions until you understand it! take him! extra credit for practice tests. would take him again for STATS if he taught it.

If you are not confident in your math skills take him! he goes over everything in detail and makes sure you understand what e is doing. He prints out the notes, so all you have to do is pay attention! Answers any questions and goes in great detail of his lectures. I am taking hi during rona so he does do class participation through zoom polls.

The best teacher Ive ever had! He cares if you understand the material and will go over any questions you ask. He is easy to learn from and makes sure you understand before moving on. He teaches math so well and Ive never had a teacher actually teach this well before and make math easy to understand! Theres also extra credit!!

I could easily say that he is the best Professor for College Algebra. Pearson (the website where he assigns our work) is very helpful when it comes to doing the homework. The only thing that sucks about this class is that he requires you to use LockDown Browser for major tests.

Best professor you could have for college algebra!! His class is extremely easy, all you have to do is do the in class questions and my math lab assignments. The exams are through lockdown browser but they are very easy only about 30 questions each. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN

Super easy class, if youre good in algebra 1 and maybe 2 youre good to go. You dont need to be in class, just finish the whole course within a couple weeks and youre done. Hw, test, are online. Hard to fail. Even if you suck at math, he teaches very well and helps you out if you need any.

I took professor Chan for fall 21 in person and it was the best decision ever. If you can take him you wont regret it. If you miss class you wont understand the homework(thats online) or test. He grades fairly and is easy to reach outside of class time through email. He does care about teaching and you can see it during lectures. 10/10

I am terrible at math and Professor Chan really was helpful. My best advice is to ask questions (which he will always answer), go to class, and get tutoring at the SLC before tests if you arent super confident. If you miss lectures you will be lost. I highly recommend giving this class your all or else you will fail. He is a great professor!

i made a profile just to write a review about this prof. because he's a GEM! i'm terrible at math and i even passed. he's very clear in his lectures and records them so you can always refer back to them if need be which SO HELPFUL! he uses MathLab a lot, but it helps retain the material. best math prof. i've had. I wish I had more teachers like him. Yes, you will do homework and classwork. But this teacher is amazing. He knows how to teach a student! He answers my questions before I can even ask them. Super kind. Sticks to his rules but all of his rules are fair. Coming from a student who is not the best when it comes to academics, Take his class.

If you need a professor who is patient and slow with the material, this is the professor for you! For the most part, MAT1033C is basically 80% or so of this class. He was understanding of my situation when I asked to do class from home. All his lectures are recorded by the way. Plenty of time to do hw, and practice tests are extra credit.

Professor Chan was one of the kindest professor I had yet, he literally makes math seem easy, especially factoring. he's defiantly a professor I would take again in the future.

I have to be honest, I was dumb and irresponsible. I took this class to lightly and ended up with an F for not studying for my tests. Its impossible to fail this class unless you do what I did. Kenny is just the best! I absolutely hate math but he made it bearable and straightforward. As long as you study your notes and try them out on your own you will do great on his tests. He also likes to make sure everyone understands and gives extra credit if you complete the practice tests. TAKE HIM. Oh and lowest quiz grade is dropped :)

I have no idea how he does it. Professor Chan taught in such a way that makes math look like a walk in the park. No other professor did that. Maybe it's because he does everything digitally or maybe it's because of the way he simplifies even the toughest of problems. He's very accommodating and helps his students. Uploads lectures online. Take him!

Professor Chan made me fall back in love with math again. His class always had my attention and would simplify the hardest questions for us. He gave us the notes for each class so it just made it so much easier. Plus he records the classes and uploads them to Canvas in case we miss class or just need a recap. Hope to take more classes with him.

Great prof! Clearly outlines criteria. Accessible outside of class for help. Gives great feedback! Be sure to study & buy appropriate calculator. Mymathlab h.w. so textbook needed. Not too hard of a class. Study, participate, ask questions & you'll do fine. Attendance not needed- just come complete work & be present for in-person tests/exams.

He is an amazing professor!! There is homework for every chapter but nothing too hard. He teaches super well just review your notes before the quizzes and exams and you'll do fine. Quizzes are very hard the final is not that hard but review all your notes ahead of time! He has a passion for teaching and is very good at it.

One of the best professors I've ever had. If math is hard for you don't worry, Professor Chan is the best. We took 4 tests in total. The question in the test is based on what he teaches us, not unknown stuff. If you have any questions at all he takes his time to explain everything in detail. I definitely recommend this professor 100%.

BEST MATH PROFESSOR!!! he teaches like its your first time in algebra on college course, easy to understand! He is very accessible after class with hw questions. I only didnt do well with the final due to my anatomy finals i studied more for, but maintained an A+ the entire semester until the final lol. TAKE HIM!!!

Best Math teacher ever! Had him for college algebra for my first semester of college. He gives you the notes printed out and you just fill it out as he gives the lecture. As long as you pay attention and take the practice tests, you will pass.

BEST TEACHER EVER! Made math easy to understand for someone who struggles with math. Answers questions without judgment. Homework due on test days. 5 tests + final (40 multiple choice questions). Lectures were clear and simple. Definitely would take again!

Amazing professor, one of the best for teaching math in my opinion. He has amazing lectures and is super flexible. It will be a lot of homework but don't procrastinate. He gives you plenty of time. Study for all the test and you will pass. He's honestly amazing, super nice and kind. If you don't like math, take him.

I finally understand math because of him. It was very easy to do. Follow the lecture, write the notes as he does them, do the activity, and leave the class. He never goes over three lessons per session, and there's always homework to accompany the lessons. He records lessons, so if you miss class, you can review them through the Kaltura section.
