There are no tests, and your only grades are quizzes. They are short (about 20 questions each) and very straightforward. He basically posts the questions on moodle before the test for you to study. You don't need the book because you're given all of the information in class. He's the best teacher for REL 1000 and probably other courses, too.

Kenny is very kind and genuinely wants you to do well. He will go out of his way to clarify anything that may be confusing and he treats all of his students with the utmost respect. Dr. Kenny is really good, generous, respectable and amazing professor I have not seen like him before. His office is always open. He willing to help you anytime. I am an international student, and he helps me a lot even in my English. there are 7 quizzes. The quizzes are more than easy if you go to class. Take him if still seats in his classes.

It's only week 2, and I can already tell that Kenny (he prefers us to call him that) is one of the greatest professors and also one of the most caring people I've ever met. Very easy class. Kenny is amazing. Everything is multiple choice. He gives you review questions on moodle. Almost everything is in the notes. So just take good notes, or get them from someone who does. There are a few things on the quizzes that are in the book only, but he specifies which ones. This class is a great GPA booster.

Absolutely one of the best professors I have ever had. Class is only 6-7 quizzes and if you study for them you will make an A in the class. He will make it seem like you need the book and like you'll need it for the 1st quiz.. DO NOT GET THE BOOK. He really cares about his students and wants you to do well in his course. There are only 6 quizzes, and are all straight forward from his notes. Just show up and pay attention and you will be fine. Probably won't need the book. I took Kenny's class for REL 1000 and REL 2000, and I would definitely take more if I could. He truly respects and cares about his students. Grades come from five or six quizzes, and you WILL get an A if you study lecture notes.

Great Guy. He gives great lectures. He really enjoys the subject. Attendance isn't mandatory but I would recommend going and taking notes. The quizzes come straight from the notes. 6 quizzes all worth about 16.7% of your grade. I would recommend taking him if you want to take this course.

I absolutely LOVED this class! This was my last Humanity and it was so worth it. Only 6 "quizzes" they are all 25 questions each and basically vocab. Each test did have like 2-6 questions from the book "God is Not One." It was a very good read, but there are videos on youtube that sum up each chapter. Kenny is the best person I have ever met!

Took this for GenEd. Kenny was awesome. He really cares about LSU students and wants us all to succeed. Lectures can be tedious and quizzes are actually kind of hard. But study good notes and actually read the chapter for the quiz and you'll pass.

This class is an easy A if you take notes in class and and read the chapters. He gives you study guidelines for what is going to be on the quiz. However, the 3 quizzes are your only grades so do well on them.

I loved this course. The material was fairly easy as long as you went to class and took good notes. Even if you miss a day, you could get someone else's notes. The professor keeps the class pretty interesting and is straightforward about what you will be tested on.

I love his lectures! He's funny and tries to keep the class awake. His grades only include 3 exams. No hw, quizzes or attendance. Kenny is one of the most friendly and genuinely caring professors I've ever had. Three exams which consist of class notes and book questions. Not the easiest material, the lecture questions are pretty straight forward but you need to really go into details in the book to get the book questions right. He normally answers emails within 30 minutes.

Kenny's a great professor. This was my second time taking him, he really cares about and tries to help his students. Lectures are very straightforward, laid out in an outline on the board so you can follow along easy. 70% of test material is from lectures, and it's all very straightforward, easy-to-understand MC questions. Take him!

So easy if you literally just put in effort. Its super interesting and I actually WANTED to learn. its only 3 tests (no quizzes, hw, etc) so if you mess up on one test, youre basically screwed. But it doesnt matter because Smith is super straightforward with what material you need to know; as long as you know the study guide youll be fine.

I took this class because everyone said they love Kenny. DO NOT take this class if you are looking for an easy A The notes for each of the exams are 30 pages and the only grades are 3tests .I do like Kenny,but this class is my only C and I have all A's. I also attend ALL of the Si sessions and this class still doesn't click. Hope this helps someone

Took him for Magic, Religion, & American Culture. Had daily readings/summaries to turn in. Super understanding person if you ever need an extension on a paper and also very encouraging. He was honestly the best professor I've ever had. Highly recommend.

I absolutely loved Dr. Smith course on religion. Truly, he is a fantastic teacher, one of the only good ones I have had at LSU. He doesnt require attendance, but to do well, you have to be in class taking notes. Everything is fair game on the test, so study hard. He gives only 3 exams so good luck if you fail one of them. You will love and learn

He is really great at giving lectures and provides a lot of information that he tests on. There was a lot of reading and quizzes on the reading material but the tests and quizzes are easy if you keep up with the course.

Dr. Smith is really great. If you want an easy A elective for a course it's not a given. It definitely requires a good bit of reading/lectures and you need to really pay attention to the quiz questions. The exams are easier bc theyre based on lectures where as quizzes are based on the book. He's SO nice if you go to office hours and keeps class fun

Kenny is a great professor. He really wants students to understand the material and gives good lectures. If you actually attend class and take notes on his powerpoint you will get good grades. We had a field research write-up that was only 1 page long, takes no more than 30 minutes to do, and most people got a 100 on it. Go to his class.

KPS is an amazing professor that shows he cares much about his students. The class is not an easy A at all, but if you pay attention, take notes, and review before exams, it will not be too challenging. There are not too many grades for this class so try to excel on the exams and one writing assignment given.

My favorite professor, was so understanding, the best lectures, tells u exactly whats needed to pass, you just have to actually read the book and attend lectures.

He was great! The tests are easy if you take notes on the material (tests are open note). He communicated deadlines and announcements clearly. He is very enthusiastic about teaching and is clearly passionate about the subject. Overall an easy and interesting class, I would definitely take it again!

Professor Smith was a really amazing person and professor to have. Being in my first semester, he really cared about getting to know me as a person, and If I could rate him 999/10 I would. As for the class, it isn't easy nor hard, don't take this class if you're lazy but if you want to have a great experience in the classroom take Prof. Smith.

Professor Kenny was amazing. You can tell he's very passionate about what he teaches. He explains everything so well and his tests are fairly easy if you take good notes.

There are very few grades (3 exams, 1 paper) so don't slack on them, or you're grade will totally feel it. Otherwise, Kenny is funny, engaging, and cares very deeply about his students. I regret not attending more in-person classes; he's such a delight.

One of the best teachers I've ever had in my whole academic career, nothing I can say will encapsulate how good of a teacher he is. He has a way of talking that makes you interested in what he has to say and eager to come to class every day. His class is based around three tests, but they are rather easy and if you come to class, you'll do fine.

Kenny is fantastic-- he's kind, interesting, and meticulous about making sure students have ample time and information to complete the tests. He's excellent at making sure people are able to catch up if they miss class. The one issue I have is that the textbook he uses is fairly dated, and it has a tendency to detract from the course at times.

Lectures are very long but I found them very entertaining. Course is made of 3 open-note exams and one single-paged paper. When taking lecture notes, write down what he is saying compared to the lecture slides. Very nice and friendly if you have to email him about something. Although this was an online class, he seems like a very nice guy. This class was interesting but his test were kind of hard. His lectures are long and its hard to tell what to write when doing notes. I did good on the 1st test, 2nd/3rd not so much. Unless you are great at taking notes, don't take this class. got my credit tho.

Dr. Kenny is so nice. He truly cares about his students. I took him for religions change the world. There was a lot of work in the beginning due to readings/video summaries assigned each class period but he graded them really easy as long as you did the work. During the class time, you just come in for discussion. Overall, easy class.

The exams questions are sometimes word for word what he said in class. He is very kind in person and easy to email all of the time.

He makes every course he teaches enjoyable. The course has no exams. He assigns readings (10-20 pages) for every class. You have to write 500 word prompt summaries for each reading. The prompts are very subjective and want to know what you think most of the time. Also graded on attendance.

As long as you actually listen to the lecture videos instead of just looking at the slides you'll be good. Also take notes using the study questions he provides. There are questions on the exam from the textbook, but I just skimmed through the book while taking the exams tbh. 90% of the grade comes from the 3 exams

Class consisted of 4 exams, which were taken on Moodle, and a 4 word end of the year submission. I didn't watch lectures or notes, and still passed. Pretty easy class, just make sure you keep up with the exam dates, he does have a big window for his exams though. He sends weekly emails reminding to watch lectures and exam dates.

If you put your part in, it should not be difficult. 3-4 exams and a written portion. It is open notes and open book, so make sure to take in-depth notes and actually read the chapters. The lectures are quite interesting and really do go hand in hand with the exams. Ofc it won't be easy if you interpret open notes as open google!

This was a very easy credit. The only thing you are graded on are 3 online tests. You do need to watch the lecture videos to be successful on the tests, but it is not hard at all. No homework.

Kenny is great! He's very helpful and is more than happy to answer questions/ talk about material. The tests don't exactly follow the lectures; they are based on the book, so make sure you have it and you read it. It's a very easy class, and you can do it 100% online or go to lectures.

Professor Smith might just be my all time favorite professor. He cares so much about his students and intentionally limits the workload of his courses so as not to overwhelm them. If you have any chance to take one of his courses or speak with him in general, do it!! He is a gem.

The class is thought-provoking and he encourages people to share their opinions. I took New Religious Movements and it really changed the way I think about religion. Would 100% recommend to everyone but beware there are readings and summaries due before each class. However, he's very nice about deadlines.

Kenny Smith is that boy bro love this dude always sending out reminder emails of when stuff is due. There is like four tests and one assignment that takes maybe two minutes. Don't mess up the tests and this course is an actual breeze.

I had to adjust the speed of the lectures to double. The stories and knowledge he spreads through all of them are fascinating, and he talks about it in a very respectable way. The exams, which were the only graded materials, were very easy if the lectures were watched. I highly recommend this class as an elective.

I took Religion 1000 (online). Kenny is passionate about what he teaches. Very inspirational. The only downside is your grade only being composed of 4 exams and 1 written component; so you need to do well on these if you want a good grade. Would recommend.

Guys. This class is super easy, especially if you take it in the summer. As long as you watch every video (ensuring you take notes) and read all the chapters (but honestly I skimmed the chapters and went over the stuff he underlined), you're sure to ace your tests... yes, even though the summer class is only graded by tests and the little written.

This class was a super easy elective. I accidentally closed my computer without finishing a test and he let me retake it so he's super understanding about that stuff. You could read all of the notes and watch the lectures but it's not THAT necessary.
