Avoid at all costs!! Tells lot of dumb stories that are not relevant to the class. Poor teacher that does not explain concepts well. Has good sense of humor. Teaching seems disorganized.
Really good teacher! If you're not really good at math he explains everything really well. And he's funny. I would totally recommend him.
one of the greatest math teacher , if you want really to learn math start to take all your math classes with him .he will help you to learn the materials easliy with fun step by step..just do not miss his class and do the homework ..highly recommended "the best teacher".
Great Teacher!! Highly recommended... Very clear and organized.
Good professor. Tests are difficult but he grades them very fair.
This is the nuttiest guy you will ever meet by far, simply crazy. He makes class fun by his outgoing personality. The class is pretty easy if you do your homework, everything is based on the tests.
Hes a great teacher very helpful! gives extra credit for homework. And for study group!
The best teacher. Any bad comments on here are from BAD students, I garentee! Just do your homework and show up for class,he'll do the rest. Interesting guy, Keeps you awake. If you;ve had trouble with math he's the best solution.
I wouldn't recommend taking this class during the summer, when he teaches it. He is a decent teacher, but very involved with his family. did not return tests in a timely manner nor was willing to work with students outside of class.
This professor is soooo lazy! Don't expect to receive your tests for about 2-3 weeks. Arrives to class AT LEAST 15 minutes late EVERY DAY. Teaches in the most annoying manner I've ever experienced. Pulls odd questions for tests, which he makes himself. Never reviews either, not even for the final! I love math, but not this particular teacher.
hands down best teacher at oakland community college. he really cares that student learn the material. hes absolutly amazing.
Good teacher. Do the homework and will probably get an A or B if you dont really try. He does show up late and we leave early sometimes. Talks a lot about stuff not related to class.
I'm surprised at negative comments. Professor A is REALLY good. Yes, he asks questions. He wants his students to think and understand the material. You can tell he enjoys teaching and wants the students to do well. I'll take him for all of my Math classes at OCC, even though I'm not close to this campus. Yes, he is late, 5-10 min. Nobigdeal.
Wounderfull Person! clear explanations to problems. He makes you really think about Math so it makes sence. Show up and Do the homework and you will know the subject.I laugh the whole time I'm in there! If he drifts of corse just start doing the homework! also Pat the study Group leader a sweety!
You can tell Prof. A loves math. I think he loves teaching it too. I would never believe that I would ever say I love Algebra and its because of him. The comments posted on 3/30 are not true. He spend the entire time teaching and is always talking about math. He is a very good teacher. I highly recommend him for every student.
Professor A is a great teacher He has a unique way of explaining the work and gets the class interested. I'm surprised how much I enjoyed the class. I highly recommend this Professor.I will take him for all my required math classes if possible. He is fair, offers extra credit, gives opportunity to improve poor test scores and has study group tutor
Good teacher. Tests are not returned quickly but VERY generous about partial credit. If you do the work you can pull an A.
Difficult tests. You would study a lot and expect a good grade and get returned the opposite. It happened to most of the students. However as long as you get one good grade on a test, that is the grade you keep at the end of the semester, which I don't think makes any sense. There is also a study group offered.
Don't take this class if you are any bit uncomfortable with math, the tests are challenging and inconsistent with the lecture. You'd think if the teacher actually liked teaching he wouldn't be 10-20 minutes late every single day. Nothing good about the class, not even the teacher.
I took Diff Eq with this prof. He is a cool teacher and keeps your attention through humor which is good for a difficult math course. He is usually 15 min late to class and break, which adds up to a lot of lost time in the end. He catches up by teaching really fast which is hard to understand. Notes are a little messy, but you get used to it.
Prof. A is a great teacher who is passionate about math-very funny too. Downside is that the tests are very difficult. My suggestion would be to study sections VERY thoroughly before tests. Know the language. He has an SI who is available before and after class. Study group is helpful and you get Xtra cr 4 attend. Replaces lowest test with next one
Excellent teacher. Had him for Calc 1, 2, and 3. Funny guy too, does tell some stories, but they keep the class interesting (4 straight hours of math can wear you down). He is also helpful, and will talk things over if you don't understand. Take advantage of his knowledge! He is one of the best.
GREAT TEACHER, IF YOU HAVE HAD MATH TROUBLE IN THE PAST HE IS GREAT! He helps in class and actully respond to emails. very interresting class, funny guy!
Excellent professor. He makes it easy to sit through his class. He teaches through asking questions and leading students to figuring out the answers themselves. Very funny. Beware, he will always be at least ten minutes late and is slow to return tests, other wise excellent.
It is so hard to find a good math teacher. Aeschliman is amazing. He makes everything easy to understand. I have had him for pre algebra and elementary algebra. I wouldn't take anyone else. If you do your homework, it's extra credit on your test. I suggest doing your homework, it helps you to understand what is going on and it's extra credit.
Mr A. is the best teacher I've ever taken. Very helpful and wants each student to do well. If anyone has anything bad to say, it is only because they didn't study or try. Finally a teacher who knows how to teach math! He's funny and confident! Great teacher!!!
TAKE A DIFFERENT TEACHER! Tells un related stories, doesnt actually explain how to do work, just gives it. If you struggle in math, this is not the teacher for you. At all.
okay honestly every time i try to ask a question he makes me feel retarted. I never ask questions anymore because he makes me feel like i should know the answer when I DONT GET IT!!!! thats why im in the class i am because i dont get it! he is such a jerk. honestly dont take this teacher unless you like getting made fun of, singled out in class for
I have never sat in a class where I have literally wanted to poke my own eyeballs out. This man so full of himself that he can barely get an actual point through. I don't usually have problems in math but I could not learn by his teaching. P.S Don't answer any questions wrong, You will be subjected to ridicule by him.
okay honestly every time i try to ask a question he makes me feel stupid because i ask questions because i dont understand thats why im in the class i am because i dont get it! he is such a jerk. honestly dont take this teacher unless you like getting made fun of, singled out in class for not knowing the stupid answer
I have had Mr. A for 3 classes now and I can say that he is an excellent prof. I just want you guys to notic that the last 4 comments were all posted on the same day. Do you really think they were completely unrelated? I'm pretty sure they were just one student with an axe to grind. Don't pay attention- Mr. A is great.
He is the best teacher I have ever had! If he could teach me math he can teach anyone!
Likable but ill prepared. Book does the teaching.
my fav prof!!
He's really good at teaching. I was horrible at math before taking his class, then I literally relearned everything I knew through him and it's so easy now! Will give extra credit for doing the hw.
He really cares about you and your grade. He wants you to like math!
Great teacher! Teaches math from the ground up and thoroughly understands how students learn. If you do all of the home work and pay attention and complete the home work you will pass
Best Proff Ever to walk the earth!!!!!!! I always liked math but after taking Mr. A I don't think its possible to love math more! He is funny, likable, he kind of late to class a lot but who cares when you get such an amazing proff!!!
He is very nice. At first, I thought he was a little rude, but then realized it's just his sense of humor. He talks SLOOOWWWLLLLLY, which can be annoying, but overall, he is very nice and is always willing to help. He explains the material well too.
He was very nice and very enthusiastic about his work but he was just not the teacher for me. I don't like the way he explained things, and when he taught he pretty yelled it to the class. When you got an answer wron in class he would say "Nope!" or Wrong!"
Ok I think he was not my kind of teacher. I will manage to get A- but it was all my work. I would never take him again.
THIS WAS THE WORST PROF I HAVE EVER TAKEN! DO NOT TAKE HIM! HE GRADES SO HARD AND IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET AN A. HE ALSO MAKES YOU FEEL STUPID WHEN YOU ANSWER OR ASK A QUESTION. EVEN BY DOING ALL OF THE HOMEWORK SEVERAL TIMES I STILL DIDN'T PASS THE COURSE AND AM NORMALLY A GOOD STUDENT. DO NOT TAKE HIM! BIGGEST MISTAKE WAS TAKING THIS TEACHER.
Such a great teacher! He teaches you tricks to help you learn quickly. I have been so bad at math until I took his course. Highly recommended for students who aren't really good at math.
I would never suggest taking this class. This man is horrible yells at you for asking a simple question. Make you feel stupid. Is not understanding of anything if you miss class. Do not take this class!
He's a okay professor. Do your homework and come to class. He does make you feel stupid sometimes but he tries to make it a joke....sometimes i think he's not joking. But he goes in detail when explaining things. So I would out him as Fair.
Honestly i have no idea why people rated him so low, i think he was one of the best math professors ive ever had, sure the class is hard, and he may sound condescending, but he wants to get you to think.
While I didn't want to join any discussions, I thoroughly enjoyed them--no lecture more yet! Kudos to those with the nerve to answer even his simple questions. Otherwise, he presents the material extremely well I had no problem getting an A after a ten year hiatus from math. Liked him so much consider taking DIFF-EQ even though I don't need it!
I took him for Calc 2 Fall 2010 and I was failing miserably, I had to drop. I constantly felt lost, and he wasn't helpful to me at all. Its confusing seeing these great reviews for him because that was not my experience at all. I took Calc 2 again at Royal Oak campus this winter and got a B. Aeschliman must not be my style?
I took Mr. A for Calc 2 and Diff Eq. My advice is that if you are not a quick learner and cannot study well on your own (or if you do not have A LOT of time on your hands), do not take this class. The few students that barely study for his exams are extremely gifted. Prepare for heck. He is difficult. But not impossible.
Great at explaining the material but wastes a lot of time trying to get the class to participate! We didn't finish the last couple of chapters because he was behind schedule because the class was afraid to participate. He likes to make the students feel stupid. He tells funny stories to take away the tension. You can"t be shy while takin this class
I think he is a wonderful teacher. He is very good at explanation and is very knowledgeable. Likes to yell however he only does it to get through to people.
He is very clear and wants students to understand the material. I have him this semester and I do not care for math before taking this class with him. He does have an SI and gives points to boost your grade at the end of the semester. Overall he's the greatest math teacher there is.
He is the best professor I ever had at OCC who cared about his students and their needs. If you don't understand something, he's always willing to show you and explain it to you after class. I'm really glad that he was a math professor that I could count on to help me. I will really miss Mr. Aeschilman when I graduate this year.
honestly the best math teacher ive ever had. answers all your questions and is extreamly funny. he gives extra credit for attending study group before class and sometimes collets homework for extra credit on your test. tests are just like the notes he gives and will help you on your test if you go up to him. awesome teacher overall.
He is a little intimidating at first. He yells a lot, but he says it's because he likes to act. He's very funny and entertaining, but don't expect him to just hand out answers to you. He makes you really think about math and learn how to use math terms correctly. Calculus is a challenging class, but he does his best to help you work through it.
im horrible at math so therefore struggled in the class. Dissappointed on his teaching technique, he was confusing and all over the place. I wish he was more clear on how to do the problems he doesnt explain well. if you understand math then i recommend him if not then i recommend a different prof.
Doesnt explain how to solve the problems clearly. I had to see a tutor or teach myself. when you give a wrong answer in class he'll yell out " that has got to be the dumbest answer ever" really makes you feel stupid in front of class. His teaching technique is lacking greatly, one thing he does good is he tries to emphasize vocabulary usage.
Hands down one of the best teachers i have ever had. His class is by no means easy, but if you take notes, pay attention, and participate, not only will you learn and have fun. He makes sure that you understand the words you use, and doesn't tolerate misuse of terminology. He sometimes has you repeat a question/answer until you say it correctly.
He is awesome. So funny. He made class fun and actually explained the concepts. Loved him
Thought I wouldn't like him at first but then he grew on me. He is really good at explaining the why's behind the concepts. I now know what the symbols mean instead of just how to solve them.
Unhelpful, disrespectful, and rude. He's funny because he spends most of his time berating those who try to answer. Creates a hostile learning environment where no one dares to answer anymore for fear of being openly mocked. Flies through the material and seems to be more interested in proving his intelligence than ensuring our comprehension.
I took him for calc 1 2 and 3. Best teacher I've ever had. Has an extremely thorough understanding of the material, is extremely helpful and invested in how well the students do. Will help you out as much as he can in extenuating circumstances. Highly highly recommend! Especially for a 4 hour course it goes by quickly. Funny too!
Best teacher ever !! I take him for every math I highly recemend him. He's funny and a great teacher. I suck at math and he explained it in a way I understand. Love him.
He jokes around in class but I never thought he was putting people down. He is one of the best teachers I've ever had, I understand the material I learned from him so much better than other people who have taken these courses at universities or from other teachers. I recommend him at every opportunity. He's an excellent teacher.
Mr.A loves to rub his chest. hell rub them all class period. but he is a really funny professor. i recemend taking him.
Lets just say, you might as well buy the book and finish the entire thing by yourself if you are taking this guy.
Although Mr. A can be funny at times, I would not recommend taking him again. He puts down people and makes them feel stupid whenever they try to answer a question he asks or a question. He will often ask questions and find himself in an absolute silent classroom because students fear to try to answer the question.
I THOUGHT HE WAS AWESOME AND WOULD TOTALLY RECOMMEND HIM. REALLY TEACHES THE MATERIAL. I THOUGHT HIS WAY OF TEACHING THE MATERIAL REALLY HELPED ME. CANT SAY ENOUGH AWESOME TEACHER AND FUNNY. IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE HIS CLASS YOU NEED TO GROW UP AND GO SEE HOW THE REAL WORLD OPPERATES
I would not recommend taking him at all. He is a horrible person and only thinks about himself, its really sad that he BULLIES his own students making them feel like complete crap. I dreaded coming to his class every week because I knew he would degrade me and make me feel worthless and like I knew nothing. For material, he doesn't explain at all.
loves to belittle his students. it was a very hostile learning environment. attendance was required and he did not allow a formula sheet on test days!! I would not recommend taking him.
Would not recommend. He wastes all of the time in class degrading his students and making them feel horrible. I dreaded going to class because being there just made me angry. Class time consists of only doing examples from the book. He wastes a lot of time degrading the students when he could be teaching. Save your time, don't take him.
Mr. Aechliman was a great instructor. He explained math concepts really well. When he asks questions he makes you answer correctly and say thing right. Some people hated him for that, but I thought it was helpful. Great instructor. Wish he was teaching the next class.
class was ok and actually he was funny most of the time but sometimes he was doing a lot of mistakes .... very hard to fallow but he is a very hard grader and tester. i feel that he didn't do the test before he came to class so surprise , surprise some of the problem were hard even for him.... Don't recommend he will ruin your gpa
if you don't enjoy people with a sense of humor, don't take his class. he puts people on the spot, but for the sole purpose of learning. he is always there to help and his tutor that came in an hour before class was very helpful as well. I hate math, but he made it easy to understand and gives a lot of examples and constructive criticism.
Some of these comments are hilarious. He's a good guy and really wants to make sure students understand the math, as opposed to just being able to regurgitate it on test day. I don't see how people would be offended by him, unless they're just insecure. He really knows his stuff. Like other OCC teachers, he tends to be hand-holdy.
Although Kent tries to be a nice guy, his teaching style is very sluggish and off-putting. Even if you are following very closely to his lecture, you WILL get confused and soon be totally lost. His teaching style also depends heavily on student participation, so most of the time, the time spent in class is just listening to silence.
Is a serious professor if you are committed to your studies. Do not take his class if you are expecting a joke out of your future! He's always there to give you extra help if you ask for it. I learned to love math because of his teaching pedagogy.
Work hard and do the homework and you will pass. He has a study group before every class and it seriously helps, so go. If you need help just ask and have a back bone because he does joke. I almost failed but I asked for help and did all the homework. I passed Calc 2 in 7.5 wks. Good luck.
I'll give him credit for being a good teacher. However, he is very condescending and very rude toward his students. DO NOT answer any questions wrong during class because he will berate you and make you feel like crap about it in front of everyone. Good teacher, terrible person. I'm so happy I don't have him for a higher level math class.
He uses common sense to describe math instead of just making you memorize and regurgitate it like everyone else. His tests aren't like the usual where you have no idea what will be on it, his tests are on exactly what he teaches. His explanation of basic math laid a foundation that carried me through my next two math classes.
Aeschliman is brilliant. His sense of humor may come off as condescending and rude, just learn to brush it off and laugh. The lectures are slow, but pay attention! Ask questions! He expects students to think and learn, and gets frustrated when people slack off. If you put in the work, he will help you. He wants you to learn and succeed.
avoid him
it was a waste of time to take him
If you truly try in his class, you WILL learn how to be an excellent math student. Yes, he has a very dry sense of humor. Yes, if you don't take class seriously he will humiliate you, and yes, he will let you know if your answer is wrong. But in doing so he teaches you to THINK and TALK critically. A skill you can use for the rest of your life.
People need to lighten up! Mr. Aeschliman is not condescending in the least bit, he just expects the best as any good teacher does. You really have to earn your grade. If you put the work in, you'll earn the grade you deserve. His tests are rough, most of the time I wanted to cry half way through, but I am all the better math student because of it!
Really difficult class when the teacher doesn't know how to put an adequate lecture together. He rather insult students then lecture. I wouldn't advise take his class.
This guy is the worst Linear Algebra professor. The class started with 29 and had 11 students by the time I dropped. He rushed through the sections in lecture and then signs a lot homework. He then gives a lot of questions on the test with not enough time. Avoid this man.
I took this as a 8 weeks class & let me give you an honest review. DO NOT take this class he is rude & a hard grader. His grading style is VERY unclear too you have to go in to see him to even know what each question was out of. His tests are took hard than needed to be and I'm good at math like by the end class it was so bad half had dropped.
Mr Aeschliman is a very tough teacher and comes off very unapproachable, however if you're struggling with anything he is extremely helpful if you show you are willing to work for it. He expects 110 percent effort and if he sees you putting in that effort he will help you out if you're struggling. Great guy!
Good guy who teaches really well and knows his concepts inside & out. He's not rude or condescending at all, he just doesn't accept wrong answers. If you're wrong, he'll tell you--not to make fun of you, but to make sure you understand concepts. He's funny in class & very friendly if you go see him for help. Tests are more than fair & represent hw.
I took Calc as an 8 week course and thought he was great! Hilarious, definitely a dry sense of humor, but he knows the material well and he teaches well. He's a caring guy. Class can be long but he tries to be very interactive by asking a lot of questions. His tests are like the homework and they have extra credit!!
Awful. I took Calc 1 in high school but had to take it in college again to get credit for it bc my high school didn't offer AP credits. So I knew a lot of the answers to his questions and even when kids would raise their hands and say the right answer he would tell them their answer was wrong! Very condescending and rude. Gives weekly tests as well
I had him for math 1500 which is a SUPER easy class, literally elementary work. But he treated my whole class like complete idiots, you have to answer everything in HIS words or else he will mark you wrong, for some reason he loves humiliating people and is the rudest professor I've ever had, I ended up just teaching myself at home, then hear him.
First of all, I think he is a wonderful professor, and very knowledgeable in mathematics. I took him over the summer in an 8 week Calc 2 class, and it was the hardest class I've ever taken because I didn't dedicate enough time and effort to the class and the homework. If you do the homework right, you will do well. He is also very understanding.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR IF YOU CAN'T STUDY ALL DAY. If you are used to just getting by with minimal effort do not take Mr. Aeschliman. I had him for calc 1 and it was the hardest thing I've ever done. With that being said he made me into a better student with how i was forced to dive into the material of the course and study for hours everyday
Claims to be an expert because he's been teaching for some deacades, but he treats the class like garbage. Mocks those who try to answer his questions for not phrasing it in his own specific wording. He demands that 24 hours a week is spent on his class alone or else you'll fail and his tests are very hard. Book is more helpful than him.
This guy is very hard because he assigns a lot questions on the exam with little time to do them. He makes class harder than it needs to be. Lecture wise, he's one of those cocky guys who overuses condescending sarcasm, so people are afraid to ask questions. Avoid this guy if you can.
Mr. Aeschliman is a really good professor. He demands as much knowledge as he provides a theory. He doesn't let you get bored during his class, giving little breaks. If you put enough effort, you'll make this class up.
Mr. Aeschliman is a great professor. He is not going to be super easy on you but for someone who REALLY struggles with math, it was nice to have a teacher that thoroughly explains what he's teaching, so as long as you take notes and do your homework you should really get a grasp on the material.
He's really a great guy and he wants you to succeed. But .. Linear Algebra is freaking hard. So show up and pay attention, he's a dang good teacher but he can't do it all. Do all your homework and go to the study sessions for help and you'll probably pass.
I loved Professor Aeschliman. He was a very good teacher, and cares about his students success. Some people may not favor his sense of humor, but it does make class more interesting. He is clear about what is expected of you, and occasionally offers extra credit for doing homework. Show up to class and do your homework and you will be successful.
Mr. A is an interesting guy. He takes the time to explain material, however his tests are an issue. If you are taking a 4 hour class with him, be aware that it will probably take you the whole 4 hours to complete his tests. They are hard and some problems may have more than one concept/theory covered. He gets behind a lot from too many stories.
Lectures were easy, informative, and interactive. Teacher definitely did not let his students to get away from the lecture, making sure that students understand everything. Always ready to explain. Study group before class was a great help too.
I went on to become an engineer and attribute some of my math ability (and affinity) to Kent Aeschliman. He was an excellent professor.
I had Mr. Aeschliman for Linear Algebra and its the hardest I have ever worked in a class. Overall, it is very clear what he expects from you and he makes sure everyone understands all the material. Homework and study group is a must. His lectures are thorough and he makes sure he hits everything you need to know. Also, he is a pretty funny guy.
Lectures were thorough and insightful. Instructor was available out of class to address questions and took feedback and criticism really well. Tests questions were very intelligent, that is, they covered multiple concepts as a package. Tests often took longer than the should have, but extra time was always provided. Do homework and attend SI for A
I didnt like Kent at first, by the end of the semester I had grown to like him. Hes a good guy and teaches well. Utilize office hours if youre not doing good he will help.
Horrible horrible professor, DO NOT TAKE HIM. the the worst, he makes everyone feel dumb. extremely disrespectful and annoying. his exams are super hard. and i swear i studied really really hard but with him its pointless. his grading is stupid, he takes 5 and 6 points for the smallest most minor mistakes. do yourself a favor and stay away.
Kent's policy of replacing test scores was very helpful. I think he's an excellent teacher, but can come across as a jerk because of his emphasis on using precise language. If you can ignore his nonsensical shaming rants, then he'd a good professor to learn from. He is very dry though, so either don't get bored or know the material from beforehand.
Do not take this professor he's incredibly rude to students. His tests are extremely long and hard. No amount of studying will get you an A on his exams. Nobody in the class had above an 88 on the test. Over half the class dropped and the 3rd exam was 17 pages long. No exaggeration at all I wish I was kidding about this. Stay away from this guy!
I had this teacher since August and I regret it all he have his class favorites hes rude if you answer a question wrong he will let you know its wrong in the rudest way his test are hard and long
I had the privilege of taking differential equations, calculus I, and calculus III with him in the course of two semesters, and his grading criteria was objective, he was a tough grader, accessible outside class, and got the class involved in his lectures far more than the average instructor. Test questions were very similar to homework.
He spent most of the time defining terms in the most technical way possible and being patronizing when our attempts to define them were not identical. Last lecture, he covered two subjects in 20 mins due to his constant rambling and put several questions about them on the final. He was also never very transparent on grading criteria
I took calculus 1 & 2 with Prof. Aeschliman. He holds a high standard for students to maintain and the tests aren't easy. With that being said, he is a very thorough teacher that explains things in ways a normal(not gifted) student like me will understand. I had to put in many hours for my C, but left that class very well prepared for higher math.
no partial credit, very tough grader.
Quite possibly the strangest teaching style I've ever seen. He'd ask vague questions, get annoyed when no one would supply the "right" answer. After, he'd start telling the class very quietly, progressively getting louder and louder until he was yelling, and students walking by looked on in confusion. Overall, I learned from the book, not him.
THE worst and rudest teacher I've ever taken. Wastes most of the class time talking about vague ideas and picking on/making fun of students, calls us names if we don't get the answer to a completely new concept correct. Gets sidetracked easily and never gets back to the chapter. Talks about everything but Calc 2 and blames students for wasting time
Best professor I ever had. He doesn't just tell you how to do the problem, he makes you figure out why things work that way. Yes, the class is hard, but I learned more from him than any other professor - ever. Wish he was teaching calc 3 this semester.
This was a very conflicting class. I genuinely believe Aeschliman wants the best in his students and for us to succeed. However, this was one of the more difficult classes I have taken. Homework was optional but basically required in order to do good on a test. Getting an A means spending hours on the homework. Your effort shows your grade ig.

DO NOT take for easy transfer credit! It wasn't too hard, but Aeschliman is terrible. We had to go to extreme and inconvenient measures to prove we were not cheating on online exams, and I have never had such a rude and condescending professor in my life. He would take time out of every class to embarrass students (never me- I just witnessed it)
Look, he can seem intimidating and stern, but he tells you what he wants and how he wants it , all you have to do is listen. He is 100% a good teach and knows what he is talking about, but you need to come to class participate and DO THE HOMEWORK. he can be scary but overall i learned tons and he knows how to do his job.
Worst professor/teacher Ive had in my entire life. He is so condescending and rude to students during class and will call out and make fun of students if they dont know the answer right away. Doesnt explain any of the concepts and blames everything on the students. Do not take this professor even if he is the only choice, save your sanity.
Lectures well, and you leave class understanding concepts. Hw isn't collected; grade is only based off tests. Offers extra credit for attending SI sessions. His tests are long, often, and grades harshly. He tends to have a rude personality and a big ego. If you can set this aside, he's an ok prof whose class you can pass by studying the hw(a lot).
This professor has been teaching a long time and has a bad tendency to put students on the spot during lectures, making everyone feel uncomfortable. However if you set that aside, he does want his students to succeed and to do so requires alot of studying and doing the homework. I had to work hard for my C+.
probably one of the worst profs I have had. He is rude to his students and has a cocky attitude in class. He only gives points for exams and grades extremely tough on those. He goes out of his way to make students do the most on exams to see if we are not cheating. seemed like he took pride in all the students he fails. DO NOT TAKE HIM
He is an EXCELLENT lecturer but a bit mean. He asks vague questions yet wants specific answers. If you have an strong grasp on math vocabulary, you should participate. Beware answering a question if you're not fully prepared to explain yourself. He might humiliate you if your answer is wrong. He does it cuz he wants you to know your stuff.
Kent is by far the most ridiculous professor I've had to date. He treats his students like garbage and his lectures can be quite hard to follow. His tests are only the most difficult problems possible and requires an extreme understanding to solve. If you respect your time, person, or grade, pick any other professor if possible if you want to pass.
This Prof seems to be pretty rude and does not seem interested in helping students do well. He isn't tech savvy and replies to emails rudely. He doesn't record lectures and thinks that students still will do good. There are a couple exams and a final, proctored via zoom. Homework is graded, but not a big part of our grade. Take different professor.
This professor was HORRIBLE! His tests were very hard, he was super rude and very mean. When he calls on you and you get the answer wrong, be prepared for him to make you feel stupid. He gave out A TON of homework and you have to take your notes quickly. I struggle with math already and struggled even more after this class. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS
I took his course online. We met once per week for a long 3+ hour lecture. The way he sets up the material works well. After taking a few other classes I realized how well the material was presented and I didn't have to do too much searching to understand what was going on. He can be a bit direct and rude without realizing it because of zoom.
It seems like people who have a problem with the professor are the type to not do any work, and then get mad when they fail. He gives extra credit for attending study group, and is willing to help if you put in the effort. He did assign homework but it is manageable. He genuinely does care about his students, and wants to see you succeed.
Yes, Mr. A does expect you do the work, and if you are willing to stay on top of it, he's a really good teacher. He asked more from me than my high school teachers... and he showed me I could do it. Great guy.
Mr. A has been teaching like since forever and it shows. He knows his stuff and knows how to get it across. Some poeple whine, but that's b/c they are lazy. If you put in some effort (like imagine that), its not all that hard. Good guy. Wood take again.
Professor A knows his stuff and delivers it well. He expects effort, but if you put it in, you'll learn a lot. unstuck ai was super helpful for study prep - saved me time.
Mr. A takes the time to lay things out very clearly. Yes, he has expectations, but if you just stay on top of the work and do not get behind, it will all be good. Yes, would take again!
