Honestly had no idea what he was talking about half of the class but it made me think deeper about the subject matter. Take him if you actually want to understand business law.

His class ended up being my favorite one: - Attendance is important if you want to get a good grade because he explains the concepts better than the book will, - And the flowchart he uses is logical and effective. - Do keep in mind that Connect is 20% of your grade, but I ultimately found it was a useful way to study for his tests.

BLAW is difficult by design, but Professor Altom truly wants his students to succeed which makes all the difference. He goes the extra mile to make himself accessible outside of class and is always happy to help. If you want to understand BLAW take Professor Altom.

BLAW is really tough but Altom does a lot to help you succeed. Lots of lectures, but he tells many stories from his time as a lawyer which makes classes very interesting. He doesnt really teach from the textbook but you need to read it to do well on the tests. Not a ton of "homework" but you must spend a lot of time studying the material.

Professor Altom was a fantastic professor and really knows his stuff. It is crucial to show up to the lectures and the class is generally more suited for a MWF class instead of a TR. To be successful is Altoms class you should take his advice on how to succeed. He does test reviews after tests and those are VERY helpful. I went from getting a 65 on a test to getting a 95, 88, and then 93 on the final b/c of the review. If he can see that you are trying and putting in effort, he will help you get the grade you are aiming for.

Professor Altom is one of the best professors I have taken at KSU. He is very kind and is always willing to work with you to make sure you understand everything. With that being said, he does make you work for your grade, but if you take notes and pay attention in class you can do really well. Also, looking through the book really helps.

I took Professor Altom last fall at Kennesaw in his Business Law 2200 course. Altom was really really great. He really cares and wants you to succeed, and he helps you in doing that. He gives challenging work and tests, but it's in your best interest. The assignments he does give aid you in understanding material and preparing for the test. 10/10

Do all you preparation with reading the chapters before class and in class everything will click together. His lectures are a combination of drawing from his real life experiences (which give great stories to remember key terms) and breaking down the most difficult concepts that you'll cover.

Altom's class is very conceptual, so as long as you take good notes and pay close attention to the many examples of law concepts (he includes students in examples, making them memorable), the homework and tests are easy. He's funny and does a great job beating the concepts into your head. Just take the class seriously, and he'll meet-you-halfway.

Mr. Altom is one of the best professors I have ever had! When you attend his class for the first week you might be worried and asking yourself what have I done... BUT please keep with it! After asking about a career in law, he invited me to a conference where he spoke, and then took me to a court case at the Fulton County Courthouse. The material in this class is no joke, and shouldn't be taken lightly. Read up, study, and when you think you're done, study some more. BUT, the professor is more than willing to drop everything to help you and inspire you to do well and that alone speaks volumes. Professor Altom's class was one of my favorite classes that I have taken so far at KSU. You learn a ton of information, which can be kind of overwhelming. Hard would be an understatement, his test are by far the hardest i have ever seen thank god its on a curve... as a professor he is great teaches well keeps the class entertaining, makes you do QnAs which can only hurt your test grades cant help... there is either a presentation or essay you have to do AVOID THE ESSAY AT ALL COST!

Professor Altom is a great professor teaching a hard subject. There are tons of grades and most of them are easy 100s except for the test. If you get Cs on all your tests and you do all the other assignments, youre good for a B or maybe even an A. He curves the tests and he really cares about what he does. It does take commitment but still good!

Prof Altom is teaching a more dense subject matter of law. Some fresh students may not understand much of business law and need to think it through more, but as a professor he does a great job at teaching it. He wants you to succeed, he's easy to chat with, experienced, a smart guy.

You have 4 test and a final. The final could possibly replace your lowest test score. This is probably the hardest class I have ever taken, but I dont think I have ever learned more from a teacher than I did from this one. If you came to College to learn take his class. This class is one that will reward you if you put in the effort, but will hurt you if you take classes to get a C and leave. Professor Altom provides challenging tests (but offers a curve) and getting an A is not entirely impossible. definitely the best lecturer at ksu. There's almost always never a borning lecture. The only complaint I have is he said the first test is always the lowest grade, for my class that was not the case, every other test just got lower and lower. The final was the hardest test ive ever taken and went from a B to a C because of it. Great prof tho

Professor Kent Altom is the best professor I have ever had in college. He uses stories and paints a picture for every difficult concept. He has participation incorporated into every lecture, and he is absolutely hilarious when it comes to the test. While there are a lot of concepts to grasp, he will help you as much as he can.

This is not the class to take if you want an easy A. He teaches so that you will remember the material, not just so you pass. The class was challenging, but there are opportunities for bonus points, plus the tests have a large bump, and 20% of the grade was hw and quizzes. Tests sometimes feel needlessly wordy and are a challenge of stamina.

If you take this class, make sure you do the connect questions and quizzes cause that's the easiest grade in that class. We had to do an essay which is 30% of the grade which is somewhat easy. Altom is a cut above the rest I've taken him twice already and would sign up for one of his courses again in a heartbeat. Plenty of professors seem to exemplify the old phrase "those who can't, teach"; Altom CAN, and DOES. Seriously, this guy isn't just in it for the tenure you won't find a more engaged professor. I attended class, read the textbook, went to test reviews and most office hours and passed with an A. The tests are difficult with lockdown browser/webcam but I never failed one. OK, great professor and great at explaining concepts with examples that you never forget but sooooo much work. Lots and lots of studying for tests. All tests are application based so make sure you understand all basic concepts of each chapter. Go to every class ready cause sometimes he gives extra credit in the form of pop quizzes.

Attending class is crucial and to get an A you may have to put in hours of studying but it is achievable!

Professor Altom is one of the best professors I've had so far. He cares about students and always quickly responds to emails, even when it's late or on a test day. His tests are heavy, but you'll be fine if you attend classes, read the textbook before the lectures, and visit office hours. The tests are only 60% of your grade, 20 - essay, 20 - hw.

Professor Altom may be the best professor at KSU. He cares deeply about each and every student, and he loves teaching. Attendance is not mandatory for grade but is usually extra credit, but class attendance is essential for a good grade. The class isn't that hard, he will help you anytime. I would highly recommend taking Altom for BLAW 2200.

Prof Altom is the best professor I've had in college. He'll do absolutely anything to help his students with whatever they need. The class is super interesting and he teaches mainly through examples. Professor Altom is an amazing and skillful professor. Interesting course content and engaging lectures that make you genuinely want to attend class sessions. Course layout and schedule is VERY easy to follow. Lecture outlines and extra credit opportunities were consistently given. Reading was NOT everyday (1-2 hour on weekend). Use flashcards!

Professor Altom was an excellent professor. Although he is difficult, he clarifies that it is for growing your understanding rather than to hurt your GPA. If you show up to class and office hours, you will make a good grade and understand the content.

Be prepared to shift mindset on day 1. Go to class, develop relationship (easy, accessibility is unmatched), pay attention to what Professor Altom is saying, and he will make you money and you will do well enough to get the grade you need to get into Coles.

This dude is amazing. He is very accessible for help, loves his students, and really helps you learn the material. His lectures are always so engaging. If you have the chance take him, it is more than worth it.

Let it be known that Professor Altom does not follow the traditional rules of the classroom; in my two classes with him, he broke every convention of education I had learned until now. This is one of the most difficult classes i've had to take. This is bc the material itself is just hard to comprehend and apply. Prof Altom, though, gives you every resource you may need to pass this class, its just the initiative you must have to utilize it. He cares about his students and wants nothing more than for you to succeed. READ TEXTBOOK!

Professor Altom is probably the best professor I have ever had and probably will ever have. He's super caring and is willing to answer any question at any time. His lectures are super engaging and his storytelling helps you learn certain topics. Hist tests and quizzes are tricky but if you put in the effort you'll be satisfied with your grade

He is tough, but fair and will bend over backwards to help you during office hours and anytime you email him and I mean ANYTIME. Of all the professors I've had, he is one I admire most. I felt more stimulated and challenged in his classes than any other classes I've take at KSU. So few people see the value in that, now.

By far the best professor I've had in college; but get ready to work! He has high expectations for his students, and rightfully so. He focuses on making sure that students know the information when being applied to real-life scenarios, which forces you to think critically while testing your true understanding of the material.

While I didn't make an A, due to me being a first-year freshman signed up in a lot of other classes, professor Altom is easily the best professor I've had yet and definitely is one of the top 10, if not top 5, teachers I've had my whole life. This is a difficult course. I was challenged in every single test and quiz but it was worth it. Professor Altom is a great professor. He will always be available to help any student. If you want to make an A in his class you MUST PUT IN THE WORK. Highly recommend if you want to learn.

Hands down the best professor i've ever had. One of the things I appreciate most is the fact that he works hard to ensure each student actually understands the material, as opposed to memorization. If you do your part and put your mind to it, an A is very possible. If you need to take BLAW 2200, make sure its with him.

Honestly although he can be very intimating at first, professor Altom really does help you succeed the class. As long as you show up to every class and pay attention to his lectures you can easily understand the material. He answers his emails very fast and has many office hours and sessions.

This class made me feel like I was Elle Woods in the best way possible. SIT IN THE FRONT ROW! His lectures and the content of the course are very interesting and applicable to real life. Tests and quizzes are application based so make sure you know you're stuff before going into them! I suggest going to the SI sessions at least once a week.

If you are wanting to be stretched and actually leave college learning something valuable take Altom. He provides you with all the necessary resources that will aid in your success.

By far the best professor out there, take this class if you are hardworking and care about your future. The tests are difficult, but they are curved and he provides extra credit. He also personally hosts test review sessions, which allowed us to learn how to critically think. 10/10 class

Professor Altom is an absolutely amazing professor. The course is hard but he helps you understand hard legal concepts with fun stories and is always accessible outside of class. The homework is doable, only about 2-3 hours of reading per week. It is an absolute necessity that you read the textbook before class or you won't understand anything.

This class is not a easy A, and if you are pairing with another important class you will slack in one. this class is a workload and requires a lot of studying and going to SI sessions. If you are just trying to receive the credit take another class, but if you want to learn take his.

Professor Altom is the most engaging professor I've had but also the most difficult. I never in my school career have had to study as hard as I did for his class but it is doable. He gives plenty of extra credit for just doing his assignments or showing up to his classes (and test reviews). If you work hard this class is an attainable A.

I have taken Altom for two classes and I can say he is with out a doubt the most difficult professor I have had. He has high expectations of his students but he is more than willing to help. His classes throw you off the deep end, but he wont let you drown. He genuinely cares about his students and has been highly influential to me as a person.

GG- Professor Altom is one of the few profs that cares about his students. Many complain that "he acts like his class is the most important".... Because it is. Read the text before and after class, attend lectures, pay attention to his analogies and the concepts in case reviews. When you just show up, put in effort, the rest will fall into place.

One of the better professors I've had since starting college, but your attendance and class participation play a HUGE part in this class. His lectures are very engaging and he uses real-world experience to explain what he is teaching. This is NOT an easy course, and more participation and effort are needed compared to other classes.

Firstly, Prof Altom has the best grade distribution EVER. 4 tests, -10 % each, Final -10 %, Project-20%, etc.This class really is not hard, all you have to do is study (if you have a problem studying why are you in college?).I have never had a prof who cares as much about their students then he does.He is literally helping students 24/7 its insane.

If you want an easy A for BLAW you might not want to take prof Altom. he is the only BLAW 2100 prof that gives an essay and his questions are all application based. But if you are up for a challenge I highly recommend him because of how interesting his class. He has the most engaging lectures and can give some of the craziest examples.

Professor Altom is one of the best Professors I've had. Caring, always pushing us to do our best, and willing to meet any time to help. Lots of extra credit was given throughout the semester if you showed up and participated. Attendance was required, but lectures were very interesting! Lots of assignments so no possibility to fail from one test.

He's an amazing professor but his class was very very difficult. He curves grades by a lot which is the only reason I even passed the class. I failed basically every quiz and got 2 C's, 1 B, and 1 F on the tests but still ended the class with a B. He actually cares about his students and will do anything and everything to help you.

Professor Altom is knowledgeable and brings real-world examples to class. Guest speakers and simulations were great. The course has many moving parts, and grades aren't always posted on time, but it comes together by the end. Stay organized and engaged.

If you're looking for experiential learning, this is the negotiation class to take. The 3 negotiation simulations are great practice. It's reading heavy with some meetings out of class too, but he gives that time back by ending class early. I can't help but think people giving him a 1 star weren't ready to put any material effort into the class.

He's also available at all hours of the day. He focuses on concepts more than definitions so the lectures are important. If you're going to be committed, go for it.
