Excellent teacher! I took him back in either Spring or Fall 1998 and Kent made the class very enjoyable and fully understandable! If you have the change, totally take his MATH class - highly recommended!

K Johnson is very easy and cool. Wants his class to do great so sometimes you can retake the exams in his other class. You will smile in his lectures. Does not trip if your cellphone rings, his cell rings. Never puts you down and answers every question clearly. Reminds me of the guy in The Matrix.

His colorful sayings are really cool too: "Every day of the week!", "Tuck-it!", "DONE!" Math is like alien language to me but Mr Johnson made it reaaally easy to comprehend. He always takes the extra mile to explain everything so that his students will understand the concepts. I now have a newfound love for math because of him. Take him! He's the best!

Mr. Johnson is very articulate and clear when lecturing. His method is organized and his examples are thorough. He anticipates while teaching, knows whether or not you are grasping these concepts to help you progress in the next section. If things seem unclear, he helps students after class. He's a great teacher.

he was just the teacher ive been needing in math! he actually takes the time to explain everything, sometimes too much if u pick it up quickly, but he just wants to make sure everyone gets it. & he explains in a way that everyone CAN understand. his notes are all u need. u just use the book for hmwk-not a lot just enough to make sure u understand

mr. j is the best math techer ever, before his class i hated math...but now after taking him,,,i enjoy math..and i can actually understand everything. He is a wonderful teacher and is very helpful.

What I did not like about Mr. Johnson was that he makes you believe that if you stick to the class do your homework, & don't miss class he will pass you. Well he did not keep his word. Retake exams are harder than the reg. exams. Overall good teacher if you can keep up with his teaching speed. Consider Prof. Nitta for this class, he's better.

What to say about Kent Johnson...He is one of those teachers that just makes you want to pay attention. He teaches every process completely, and he wont move until everyone gets it...He has a lot to teach, so it might seem like he goes fast paced, but that's college for you...Over all, he is highly recommended. You wont regret it.His voice is loud!

Prof Johnson is awesome! He is crystal clear when he teaches and if you don't understand the problem he will do it again until you get it. If you still don't get it he will stay after class and help you. If you done your homework and understand all the notes you took than you should be able to ace his class. I sure did but you have to study.

Kent Johnson is by far the best math teacher ever! Just started MATH51 -- only 2 classes so far, but already know the man is passionate about what he does. Clear, easy to understand, kind, helpful, etc., can't say enough positive things! Even the young kids respect him and pay attention! Amazing!

Excellent instructor! I have not taken algebra for 22 years and I received an A in his class. He is passionate about math and committed to his students grasping the concepts. He would arrive early and leave late to be available to students who wanted extra help. The pace was fast, and missing class had potentially huge impact but thats just math.

This prof. is awesome! He makes it sooo easy to understand. If you dont get it he's always available after and before class for some 1 on 1. His goal is for EVERYONE to understand and he also tries to memorize everyone's name and face. Tests can sometimes be made up if you score low. Book used 4 hw only. DEFINATELY TAKE HIM!!!!

He's one of the best math teachers I've ever had. He explains everything so well. The tests are over what was in the notes from his lecture and most of the test questions are not difficult, nothing insanely hard like the other math profs I hear about. So if you do the homework, and attend class you should be fine. He also offers one test retake.

If you need a professor for math that explains thoroughly look no further. Johnson is like Mr. Rogers, nice and informative, I had 2+ pages of notes after eachday and plenty of help, he allowed retaking test, extra credit and his test weren't difficult, however; he did such a good job of explaining things, so it may have felt easier. Johnson is one of the best professors ive ever had in general! he really cares about his students and makes himself available for his students even on weekends. The only problem for me is he explains the material to much if that makes sense. if you're not good in math he is the professor for you, if you are i recommend you take some one else

Professor Johnson was an okay teacher. I took his class fall for Math 50 and it was great. However, his way of teaching was not my style. He explains problems reeeeeally slow. If you are aware with the stuff and you get the hang of it quick you might want to take another class because you will get bored of hearing him. He is very nice though.

I struggle a lot in math and taking his class made it a lot easier. He goes over all sections thoroughly and doesn't mind taking multiple questions in class. He also has set office hours where he would host a 'study session' with students who needed the extra help before tests. I was take him again!

I have been putting math for the longest time. I was the perfect Professor to get back into it. He explained everything clearly. Keep in mind that its math we are talking about here, and its not easy but not impossible. You must be going into it ready to put in the effort and it WILL pay off.

His exams are off problems he does during lecture and even hands out a study guide for the tests. Study guide is on point with exams. The best professor. He gives a lot of homework but honestly that was what help me get good grades in all my tests. He explains the problems very clearly and if you still need help with homework he works with you after class. During his office hours he uses a white board to write the problems and answers all your question.

Best professor ever omg. If it wasnt for him I would be so lost I would be so lost in my math 71 class. I can now basically teach myself everything because Mr. Johnson explained everything so perfectly. He explains the steps it every detail and even explains why, for everything. He gives out homework everyday but will only collect in once a week.

Professor Johnson is nice and friendly, but he SPEAKS REALLY LOUDLY. He hand writes all packets (HW, Quizzes, Exams). He also spends a ton of time explaining each and every question before getting to the point and answering them. Since he explains everything in detail, it can get confusing when learning the lessons. He assigns HW weekly too.

I took his morning class and if you arrived early class then you had that much extra time to copy notes and work on your exams. Study the formulas he talks about repeatedly. Wants to help. HW is reasonable & due next week.

Extremely friendly guy. LOUD voice, but you shouldn't be intimidated. Tons of homework, BUT will help you tremendously on test. Don't slack. It was a great class. Took him for winter they were a lot of notes so be aware but he is a pretty good guy that cares about his students and goes in details with his notes which is great and will help you if you ask for help, during the intersection there is a lot of sign hw but wouldnt know for a semester how he works but I hear he has office hours during a semest.

He NEVER makes you feel dumb for not getting it & he will ALWAYS make sure that you understand the material even if it takes him 3 extra hours after class to help you! I have always hated math. It just never clicked for me.. UNTIL I took Professor Johnsons class! He is absolutely amazing, he just has a way of teaching where it all makes sense. If you pay attention/go to class/study you will have no trouble in this class. If you dont apply yourself its your fault for failing, he gives you everything you need!

Johnson was good, he cares a lot about teaching and his students, enthusiastic about it really. His lectures are easy and you do have to take notes every class meeting. Not difficult to follow him and he provides the book to take pictures for the homework. Don't be afraid to ask for help and attend his office hours.

I failed this math course prior to taking this class. He is amazing, I was never good at math, however, I understand it now He has a lot of tips, math tricks and is just one of the best teachers I have ever had. Professor Johnson is such an amazing person. He is super weird and dorky, but in the best way. He teaches math with such enthusiasm and is 100% aware that most people wont become mathematicians. The only thing in his mind is that every student understands the material. He speaks loud and clear, so dont be scared if it seems hes shouting.
