Great teacher. Makes physics interesting and also makes it easy to learn. Even with a class of over 200 students he was able to give individual attention when it was asked for. Great demonstrations and the tests weren't to bad but you did have to know the stuff. Overall top 5 classes so far at USI.

I thought Physics class would be terrible, but I ended up enjoying it because this teacher rocks. He breaks Physics down to the point where everyone can understand it - this is what a core class is meant to accomplish! Too bad there aren't more profs like him at USI. A+ teacher!

Scheller is an awesome teacher. The subject isn't easy, but he does his best to make sure everyone understands. Doesn't require attendance, but makes it clear that you have to go to succeed. Ask questions, go to his office, pay attention and you'll be fine in his classes.

So interesting to listen to, you can really tell he likes his field. Paying attention isn't very hard since he makes it so interesting. Final exam was easy and he lets you make a notecard for the formulas. On top of that, he doesnt take attendance! Awesome guy.

He is a cool teacher, he has no problem explaining something for you even if it is irrelevant to the question that he asked. I would reccomoned him to anyone. The only downside to the class is that it was the same as my high school physics class and they used the same book.

Very very hard class. Even if you study, the test are very tricky and hard. He is a cool teacher and has great experiments, but the class is very confusing. The class seems way to hard to be a 100 level class.

He's a very good professor but this class was difficult. I've never had a Physics class and barely scraped by with a C and I'm mostly an A student. He'll tell you the first day of class, either you get this stuff or you don't. I read everything, did all the homework, never missed a class and still barely made it with a decent grade.

Very interesting teacher. He actually cares if you get it or not and will explain a concept until you get it. Does experiments every class and relates it to stuff so you can grasp the concept. Hard material but i think he teaches it very good!

His demonstrations on forces of physics are interesting to say the least. Don't be surprised to hear about his sister.

I have had several professors in many different classes at USI, but none like Scheller. He is awesome to say the least, he is very intelligent, and knows how to teach. I would highly recommend him. It doesnt get any better than this

this is a very hard class!!! if u do have to take physics.. scheller is not a bad teacher just make sure u go to his office for help!! (i think he grades ur test easier if u go to him for help....) Very Helpful. Down to earth, blunt. Funny, Interesting. Tries to teach you. If you don't understand, he will try to make it understandable. Do the HW he assigns, its the only way to measure your knowledge of the subject

Great teacher. He has a great sense of humor and he does a lot of fun demonstrations every week. This class is really easy if you attend. He is extremely intelligent and makes physics a fun subject.

I'm really terrible at any kind of science, but he made it very understanable and related the topics to everyday life. He was ALWAYS available to help, and he jokes around. Nice guy

This class is extremely hard for a 100 level. The class is interesting and he does cool experiments, but if you aren't good at science, I wouldn't recommend this class. I usually make great grades, but I only got a C in here. The professor can also be very mean to students if they are late or use cell phones.

Not only is he extremely helpful, he makes Physics surprisingly fun and interesting. I would never have thought that I would like physics so much. You should definitely go to class every day, just to get his extremely helpful notes and little experiment things he does almost everyday, to show you how the material works.

His class is reasonably difficult, but he is always working to help his students. He has a great sense of humor, and classes are always interesting.

DR. Scheller is such an amazing teacher, proably one of the best at USI. He actually understands pedagogy, the science of TEACHING, and he does an amazing job at scaffolding lessons, even for adults. He teaches you things that are MEANINGFUL to your life, every day.

He is a really interesting teacher that does a lot of fun experiements! His test are a little hard, just read the chapters. go to his office and ask questions and try to form study groups! If you do bad on his test, as long as you do all of your homework and do good on the in-class homework you will do fine in the class!

Most entertaining teacher I have had. Uses a lot of visual examples. One of the first days of class he had a student break a brick on his chest. Very funny, very fun teacher. Highly recommend him. Also tests are fairly easy, most of the questions on them do not require a calculator. They are mainly thinking questions

He's just a great teacher. He makes the concepts understandable by doing lots of fun experiments and demonstrations. As long as you read the chapters, go to class, and pay attention you'll do well in his class. Also don't be afraid to ask questions he likes it when students get involved. I highly recommend him; if you can, take his class it's fun.

Scheller knows what he is doing, has a great personality and students love him. Too bad he treats his class like its a 300 level. You must red the book. Tests are very analytical and difficult. Not cut and dry. You have to really know the material to do well. Students who live and die by crashing for exams need to find a different class.

Scheller was a great professor. He simplifies the material to help students grasp scientific concepts in everyday life, and is willing to work with you if you have any questions. He's very good at lecturing and the small demonstrations that he does in class help to keep interest.

I am not a Physics person, but the class was hard. He's a good teacher, but mostly just to those that are more on his level. I went to him for help once and he asked if I even read the book... I read it over twice and told him so and he said I was lying. Really, I'm just not good at science/math, which is why I came in for help.

This class is so hard! Dr Scheller likes his subject and tries to make it fun but its still tough. Definitely do the homework and in class problems to help boost your grade. He kind of talks over your head and wants you to get it "intrinsically", but doesn't seem to understand that that's never going to happen for some of us..

Def one of my favorite and most memorable teachers ever! Physics is a hard subject, there is no way around that. But he is ALWAYS willing to help and in class he uses things that we can relate to in order to teach his subject. he usually uses examples of when we were young on the playground, so he also brings back good memories

This class is VERY fun! Scheller makes class very fun and entertaining. If you pay attention in class you won't fail. Tests are pretty hard, but he makes the material relevant to real life by using experiments; he blew up a trash can last week. Also, you never, ever use the book. Ever. I obviously haven't had taken every Professor at USI, but I'd still venture to say that Dr. Scheller is one of the best. Physics is a tough subject no matter which way you turn it, but he makes the material as relatable as possible. If you take this class you'll start to look at things differently, and more critically.

Hilarious. He blows stuff up and picks volunteers a lot. A kid danced for extra credit once. His material is kinda bar but hell dumb it down. Drops lowest teats grade which helps. He could be a stand up comedian, but you'll learn a lot while you laugh Take him !!

I have never been interested in physics. Scheller either gives full credit or no credit. Makes the class enjoyable. I did not buy the book, skipped atleast 1 day a week,never studied, and made sure I completed his week by week online homework.(important) I received a B in the class. Very easy! He loves baseball, and played in college.

Difficult class, great professor. Bless his heart, he dumbs everything down so much and most of us are still too stupid to understand it. Lol Attendance isn't mandatory, but don't plan on passing if you never go. This isn't a "skate by" kind of class. You have to study, read the textbook. He's always available to help which is awesome.

Dr. Scheller is definitely one of the better professors at USI. His attitude about the class makes it much easier to attend and pay attention. He breaks things down and spends as much time on a subject as is needed so that everyone understands, and in a class of over 100, that can be difficult.

I retook this class for my major but he doesn't do B+ or C+ or anything with a + or -, only ABCDF. If you received an 89, it is a B, no pity. GET THE BOOK and GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS.

BEST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD. He is great at what he does. I am horrible at physics, but he has helped me so much and my grade is improving. The tests are tough if you have issues with conceptual questions, but so worth taking. Sit close to him to be more involved and don't be late! If you are, just bring a quarter. TAKE THIS CLASS!

So many people talk about how difficult his tests are. I have never had a physics class before so I thought this could be trouble. I was shocked to find that for me these tests were fairly easy. I went to every class, did the online homework problems, and if I had trouble with one of them I looked it up. I scored a very strong A in this course.

Scheller is an amazing professor. If you want to pass this class, he gives you all the oppurtunites too. That may involve basically living in his office, but he is always willing to help. The tests are not neccissarly easy, but I imagine most physics aren't

By far the best professor at USI. Physics is a tough class in general but Dr. Scheller made it easy to understand. He explains everything clearly and does a lot of interesting experiments in class with the help of students sometimes. He makes his own test but as long as you show up and pay attention, you will pass.

He is hilarious! He is also very helpful when you do not understand something. He does a lot of demonstrations and always has practice tests available online for each exam. He gives homework online but if you google the answers they're online.

I was dreading taking this physics class after struggling horribly in high school level physics. SCHELLER IS INCREDIBLE. He uses so many real life applications to explain the material and his lectures are always super interesting. I walked in feeling like I would do poorly, and came out feeling a lot more confident. Take his class, it's worth it!

I'm not much of one for any sciences, especially physics, but Scheller made it interesting and fun! He demonstrates what he teaches and they are enjoyable. Homework is online, but super easy! You will need to get an access code for the homework and the book to read because some questions on the tests are from the reading. Highly suggest him!!!!

Dr. Scheller is a great professor who does care about his students. The only thing I didn't like were his exams. He made them himself and they're difficult. I did all the readings and online assignments to help study but I still struggled. But his lectures are interesting and very informative! (Also gives ex credit points for silly stuff sometimes)

Scheller is a super funny professor with really great lectures. He uses experiments and props as much as possible to help everyone understand what he's trying to teach. His tests are easy, and he provides you with both a sample test to study as well as a formula sheet to use during tests. Some Mastering homework, but usually 10 questions. Easy A.

Dr. Scheller is hilarious and he uses experiments in the lecture hall which help understand the concepts. He is a great option. Homework is minimal. 4 tests and a final. It is a straightforward class with confusing concepts. It takes some work, but not a ton of work.

The homework is all online and very easy and he really helps you prepare for the tests. I've never been good at physics so I was really worried about this course in the beginning but it's much easier than expected!

Scheller is truly an easy going professor who wants his students to learn and do well. He gives you multiple choices for extra credit that you should participate in. He has a lot of math on his exams so be prepared. His lectures are short but you should read the book beforehand because it helps. He drops your lowest exam at the end of the year.

I took an online course, I really liked him. Found his lectures interesting and entertaining, and wished I was in person for them.

So I took this professor for Phys 175 and I finished with a 103 percent with almost no background in physics. He teaches really well and knows what he is doing.

Genuinely the best teacher at USI. I'm a freshman in his phys101 lecture and omg I look forward to his class every day. the funniest and most intriguing teacher I have ever had. I highly recommend Dr. Scheller. He is one of the nicest professors I have had, and he genuinely cares about his students understanding his lectures. He answers emails right away, and his tests are representative of the examples he does during lecture.
