Man, I don't know how UH continues to give tenure to the worst professors. Tedin had no idea how to get his powerpoints to work (90% of the tests come from these) and a great majority of his lecture consisted of him randomly spouting stuff that was only weakly connected to the course material. I took this class as a freshman terrified out my mind. But I did pretty well considering, well, I was a freshman barely passing College Algebra. Maybe it was bc of the 10 POINT EXAM CURVES !!!!!!!!! His lectures are very long and super boring but 10 POINT EXAM CURVE BABAAAYYYY!!! 10-12 page lit review, super hard almost died but 10 POINT CURVE OK

Tedin was an OK prof. Long lectures, semi-helpful, took attendance using TopHat. Weekly quizzes over readings. Book was more helpful than the class. He curves the final grades, so as long as you get a 80+, you will be fine. He gets confused by technology (understandably.) Class was a fairly easy A, grading criteria was exactly as syllabus stated.

Very long and drawn out lectures. Gives mandatory quizzes each week, with over 25 pages of reading. The quizzes are based on the readings specifically, so if you don't read, you don't pass. Learn smart are optional to help you study since he won't give you credit for it. Attendance isn't necessarily mandatory, but if you miss class you'll miss info

He takes attendance for credit but posts everything online so I feel like credit is a ploy to keep students attending his class. Expect lots and lots of reading and tangents of him talking about his life. He knows what he's talking about but POLS just isn't my forte. Study as best as you can lol

The reviews only cover half the test and the lectures are all over the place. You have to guess what to study for the other half. Tests are 75% of your grade and there is no extra credit. Seriously don't take this class.

Attendance is mandatory but turns into extra credit if you attend all the lectures. Tests are extremely detailed for only an intro course and the review only covers half of the material on the test. Lectures are all random so they dont help much. A lot of reading is assigned and there are weekly online quizzes that are fairly simple

Get ready to read a ton of info that you will never need or be tested on and listen to lectures that are long and boring. They rarely help with passing the tests. He is not very specific with what will be important to study and gives a lot of reading for a freshman class. Take someone else if you can. I'll never take another lecture with him.

DO NOT TAKE ONLINE. You would think online the quizzes would be easy and probably found on quiz let but nope. Nothing is on quizlet, none of the quizzes or tests are. I had to read so so much and still barely passed. If the other professors are full, just WAIT.

I don't recommend taking this prof. Every week, we have to read two chapters and go over a 40+ slide PP, and sometimes he even gives us an extra reading. His PP's are voice recorded and they aren't helpful at all. The only good thing is that the grading scale is 80 and above is an A. Don't take this prof if you genuinely want to learn about POLS.

DO NOT I REPEAT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR, you will regret it. The most difficult I have ever had. Super difficult concepts and doesn't explain anything well. VERY unorganized and overly difficult course. TAKE ANY OTHER PROFESSOR. The study guide is NOTHING like the test. Don't waste ur time with this professor, please. Completely rude and unreasonable.

Ok. So I did read all these ratings before I took this class. Since its an online class I thought its gonna be easy. Don't make the same mistake I made. I repeat DON'T even think about taking this class with this professor unless you are a hardcore reader and like politics.

Probably the most boring professor ever. He narrates through Power Points with huge chunks of text that make little sense for his lectures, then posts absurdly long study guides two days before the test and expects students to finish completing them. He doesnt care to curve when his students do badly, and Ive learned nothing in the class at all.
