Very good teacher, very entertaining lectures, he can be a little disjointed at times, so it is very important to pay attention, but he is good. If you go to class, and pay attention, you should have no problems. He is kinda cute too!

He will try to scare you away during the first few weeks to bring his class numbers down. His method of teaching is very harsh because he wants you to get mad so you try harder. Talk back! He loves people who argue. You will only write one paper.

He is HOT. Not to mention brilliant, which makes class that much more enjoyable.

He doesn't get enough credit. Most people don't like him because he is a difficult teacher, but he knows what he is talking about and can make you see things in a story you never thought of before.

This guy really knows what he's talking about. One of the only classes I felt I've learned anything in. But if you're looking for an easy A don't take it, he'll make you work. If you want to learn, you will. I loved it! Hint on the tests...write as much as possible!

Everyone says Wilcox is so scary. No he's not. He just tries to intimidate everyone, but he is really a cool guy if you would talk to him. I got an A in the class and I think his lectures were some of the most fascinating I've ever had. He's not scary!!!!

It's disgusting how low a rating Wilcox is getting. The man is very entertaining and has made lit my favorite class. I admit his teaching style is a bit different, but I admire his enthusiasm for the subject. Just don't judge his teaching by the countless students who are being pissy that he hates cell phones. Grow up people.

I must admit that at first I was really offended by Mr. Wilcox. But now I realize that he was only taking on the role of the subject that we were going over at the time. Now he is teaching about writings over the Christian religion and he is teaching it very objectivly and just giving the facts, not his opinions. He knows what he is talking about!!

wilcox has a strange way of teach but thats what makes the class so diffrent and interesting. if you're too sensitive tho, don't take htis class. He cracks the f-whip like every 5 minutes.

Wilcox, is a good teacher he makes the class intresting and you actually learn so yes its not a blow off easy class but its a worth while class and he does a great job at making the class fun,and informative. So definately stick with him if you get him its worth it!

This guy knows his stuff, but he lets you know that he does and tends to expect you to be on the same level. He is a pretty nice guy and is actually a great teacher, but I hated his class (and so did the majority of the others in my class). You have to read a lot outside of class and everything seems to have an underlying meaning that isn't clear.

A great professor. He's energetic, very enthusiastic about what he teaches, and I found him to be very accessible and easy to talk to. Only had to do two papers and a literary journal. He made the material interesting.

Great guy! I don't know why his score is so low. He's fun, he's interesting, he's pretty easy-going, and he's versed in his Composition. He's opinionated, but I haven't seen him hold it against anyone (says the liberal smoker feminist). He's very harsh on detail (grammar, thesis, etc), but he's happy to help you and just wants you to improve.

Not a bad teacher at all. Very fun course, good sense of humor throughout. Never had a problem with his homework, and his major paper isn't that bad because of his teaching method.

I was nervous going into his class because of a bad reputation on here, but I LOVED his style of teaching. His sense of humor made class fun and interesting, and I was never bored in class. He was also very helpful when I asked for help. I think Wilcox is a great teacher once you get to know him...but somewhat intimidating at first.

Intro to Lit: I had heard bad things about wilcox but he is one of the best teachers ive had so far. He is a funny guy so class stays interesting(for a lit class anyway) . 1 midterm and one final, you turn in a guestion every week that may be used on the test, review day before the test, two papers

I think that he's the kind of professor that you will either love or hate. He is very into his opinion and has a different style than most professors, but if you can't handle that then I'm not sure why you're in COLLEGE. I don't love him by any means, but I thought that he was a good teacher and he actually enjoys what he teaches, which I appreciat

Honestly, when I look back in 20 years I will remember kenton for the way he opens your mind and shows you how to use it through persuasive writing. I highly recommend him. The only reason why people leave bad comments is because of the kind of person he is. If you are actually interested and engaged in the material and more importantly, use the ability to master it, your grade will reflect it. He likes students who like him and his material and takes note on it. A class worth remembering.

He is one of those teachers that makes you think about life differently. I highly suggest his class if you don't suck.

Wilcox is kind of tricky. A lot of times it feels as though he is being personable but I always got the feeling that he was just trying to seem that way and he really didn't care how others felt. I think it is great that he is an openly gay man but I often felt as though he used it as a crutch to further his personal agenda.

Wilcox is a great teacher, if you need the help get it outside of class though. He is not the best at giving in time class to ask questions. Honestly its a writing class, if you don't know how to write after your second year in college try harder.

Intro to Lit with Wilcox is pretty easy if you stay on top of things, and go to class. He is very helpful as long as you show genuine effort and actually ask him. Very liberal, and vocal about it. This is an actual college class, and if you still think you're in high school, I would suggest waiting to take his class. He has high expectations for his students, and he also loves to give pop quizzes. He is definitely my favorite teacher even though he is tough. He doesn't have a filter, so grow up and quit being a bunch of babies. He is great.

Wilcox is a great teacher and his class seemed to be easier than other teacher's classes. He is great at teaching and will always help if you ask for it. Make sure you are ready to laugh when you walk in because he is always making jokes.

Be aware of projects provided by him. If you are late, he gives chance but with more criteria.

Dr. Wilcox is an amazing teacher, he was chill and extremely respectful. You do read lot in this class so don't forget to read the online assignments he post. He also gives great feedback and makes lectures enjoyable. Attendance is graded but he will excuse you if your have a explanation for missing. In addition, exams and quizzes are really easy.

I took Dr. Wilcox for Into to Lit my first year & I would advise him to anyone! He is very outgoing and hilarious-which makes his lectures much more fun! I will say though that during his lectures I have NO idea what is going on just cause I don't know much of the information. You only have a midterm & final and he gives non-mandatory review days.

I had Wilcox for Comp 1 and 2 my freshman year. He's a great teacher and he really cares about your success outside of class. His assignments aren't your traditional research papers, they're different and fun! We got to make up our own conspiracy theory and write an essay using just pictures. I recommend him to every student, just don't slack off.

I took his Composition 2 class last year, he teaches up to today's standards by not lecturing or assigning lots of homework. He's very open-minded and understanding and you can talk to him outside of class and he'll listen. Assignments are scarce, but interesting and fun, like an entire essay without written words. He was great!

His lectures are fun, hes very nice, knowledgeable about a wide variety of things. class is easy if you show up and learn how to take good notes. Few assignments. Essays and feedback can be vague but youll still do well. Grades come in late. If your not okay with an obviously far left teacher I do not suggest him. It is sprinkled in his lectures.

Wilcox is a great professor. He talks a lot but it's always interesting to listen to and he is very nice. I have taken him twice this year and I would take his class again. We never used textbooks and there is only 3 assignments total for the whole semester and you have a lot of time to work on them.

Good teacher (especially for a gen ed teacher), but his political views often interfere with the class. It didn't affect my enjoyment of the class all that much, but good to know walking in.

Comp 2 with him is so extremly easy. We only had 4 assignments and they were all creative projects. You do have to go to class but as long as you participate and turn things in on time it should be an easy A. He is also very willing to help, and answer any questions.

I enjoyed Wilcox's Class. He knows what he is talking about, but gets off track easily. He is funny but has particular political views that enter the classroom. He gives pretty great feedback on papers, but they are a little tough to get into. If you enjoy writing and can follow a specific prompt without much guidance, you will do fine.
