Excellent Teacher! Discrete math was actually one of the most enjoyable classes I have ever taken. His jokes, although cheesy, provide a relaxed atmosphere. He explains concepts EXTREMELY well, and his expectations are very reasonable. HIGHLY recommended!

Very easy marker, easy quizes and tests but you have to study for them. Assignments are easy A's. Great teacher and funny.

I really liked Kenward, his course is straight forward and his stories are entertaining. All you have to do is keep up on the readings and you'll get an A+, I guarantee it!

He's a very helpful and nice teacher. And not to mention his leactures get boring, but he always has something funny to say to make them a bit interesting. The labs and assignments take up a lot of time, and his test are hard!

Kenward is a very nice professor. He illustrates the subject well, but make sure that you take good notes. Don't take this class as an easy science credit thought because it is very time consuming. If you'd like to learn more about computers however, he is very helpful.

Kenward is the man. Even though his jokes are kind of stupid sometimes, he really cracks me up. I think he gives the class a good atmosphere. I really enjoyed it and learned alot from him

Enjoyable class. Lots of homework and you really have to know what you're doing. This isn't an 'easy A' type of class -- you have to work for it but you can enjoy it. Corny but funny jokes lighten things up. Tests are hard.

Easiest class IF YOU WORK FOR IT - just get the notes and read and do the easy assignments and you're certain to get a B+ or Higher

Computer Science isnt that interesting, but Kenward is a really nice, funny guy and makes class interesting. Dont take the class if you plan to slack off,its noy an easy A, there are 10 time consuming assingments,that take 1/30-3 hours but most are easy to do. His quizes are quit hard,but if you study his notes real good youll do fine. I got an A!

man one of the easiest classes to take, just read the text book, do the homework and albs, they dont take long and tests are pretty straight forward, as well he is a funny guy, jokes are sometimes lame but thats waht makes you laugh.

His lectures are ok, he is a really nice guy and will help you if you need it. THE CLASS IS SO EASY! But his assignments can be long but they are so easy who cares. You can easily get an A.

Long assignments. Really hard tests (from the class notes 95%). But overall good prof. He's funny, approachable, and very clear.

If you like trees, avoid this class. You have to do stupid little things like change the font on page 4 of a 10 page thing and then print EVERY PAGE. The assignments were horribly pointless, but if you miss a few you lose a grade point. He's not a bad prof. He's an enjoyable person, but horrid course. Kenward=good CPSC=HORRIBLE

Kenward's a very nice guy. His lectures are usually interesting, and he has a good sense of humor. Although his tests, I found, were quite hard. Even though I didn't very well in this class, I still recommend Chin because I didnt have much interest in CPSC, and he's really good at teaching.

Kenward is a genuinely nice guy, and I truly enjoyed being in his class. Was very understanding when I was sold the wrong books and gave me extensions. Assignments seemed like a lot of brainless busywork and a waste of paper. Quizzes and tests were a bit difficult. You should be fine if you do the work and actually take notes and study, though.

He's nice as a person, friendly and pleasant. Too thorough with the exercises assigned as homework. We could get the idea without having to waste hours of reduntant repetitive work on applications. Lectures are easy to follow and fun to participate in. He's misleading when you think you're doing better than you are, he doesn't inform you.

Kenward is a good teacher--very helpful with questions. He's also really good at lightening up the moment, which is a trait that most science teachers lack. I'd take another course with him.

I think he is a great teacher. Attend every class and do all the assignments and there is no way that you will fail. Its really easy to get an A in his class as there are no surprises..He quizzes you right out of the notes he gives out. Read the textbook for clarification of concepts!

His lectures, if you pay attention, do make sense. He breaks everything down categorically and all his notes, while in simplistic bullet form, do a good job of conveying what you need to know. Unfortunately he does laugh at his own jokes, but he is easily understandable even with a rudimentary understanding of technology.

He's a nice teacher. He helps you whenever you ask him for help. Overall just read throughout his notes, you will do gud on the quizzes, and with the notes...read through the book, you can get an A. Assignments and Labs get you lots of marks.

Kenward is super nice and is always willing to lend a helping hand; however, he'll show you where the error was made and then he'll just leave without elaborating on it :| He gives heavy course loads making it seem like this is the one & only class everyone is taking. If you have no prior knowledge on C++ programming, I wouldn't suggest him!

Awesome teacher! Over all, very helpful and great at explaining. Besides knowing his stuff and making sure the students understand as well, he made the class fun and enjoyable.

Kenward truly demonstrates enthusiasm for the class, a rare trait among professors. Allowed a 1 page 'cheat sheet' for midterm and final exam. My only issue with him was how many assignments he piled on our class & how long each assignment took to complete. It's as if he isn't aware that we have other classes to attend to and focus on.

Kenward was a very great teacher when it came to giving precise instructions and clarity on assignments. His only downfall was the amount of assignments given and how long they took. Each assignment would take easily 8 hours and would only be worth 5% of your overall mark. It's as if he believes his class is the only one you are taking.

Kenward is an easy going teacher and takes his time to explain everything required to complete assignments. This course is easy in general if you have any concept of logic, if you don't than you're probably in the wrong class. There is a lot of homework though none of it is overwhelming. Expect some trick questions on tests and exams.

Great quality prof. I really enjoy his lectures. He is by far the best professor in the department. I see people complaining about the amounts of homework he gives but we're in university, you shouldn't expect less. Also, his work ethic is awesome and he's pretty understanding if you can't make it to class and need to hand-in an assignment.

Kenward is one of the best instructor I have met! He is well organized, good pepared and extremely patient! He gives very good exampla and deliver his informations step by step! His assignment is well designed! And he has a werid sense of humour (which is good) and the class was fun!

Awesome guy, he's very responsive in e-mails and straight forward with you about everything. Kenward if you're reading this, you're my favourite prof in the entire program.

Looking at some of the negative reviews, I get it. Kenward DOES give a lot of homework, but none of it is pointless. He is a very clear, fair instructor. There's nothing on his "tough midterms" that he doesn't cover in class and in the assignments. Don't take Kenward's courses if you want an easy A, take them if you want to learn something.

Kenward is a great professor. One of the few professors in KPU that I think actually care about his students. His lectures are clear and is willing to help you out if you ask. He gives out plenty of homework and provides feedback. I would recommend anyone who wants to learn to take his class.

Kenward is a good prof, however if you are taking a larger class load I wouldn't recommend. He assigns a ton of assignments which are time consuming to complete properly. We had two midterms, two quizzes as well on top of the many assignments. If you have extra spare time for homework he's a good choice, but if you are tight for time, skip him.

Excellent prof. He assigns homework that is somewhat time consuming but really helps you understand how to work with a server OS (with clear directions). His tests are standard MC, fill in blanks and written. He teaches in a way that he takes concepts and conveys them in ways beginners can understand. Highly recommend.

Mr. Kenward by far in the IT department is the best teacher you could get. He teaches well and ensures everyone understands his lectures before they leave. Throughout the semester I had many questions via email he always responds almost instantly! He even helped explain a whole chapter over email, he is very caring and kind! I 100% recommend him!!!

This is my first semester online and I'm impressed by Professor Chin. His lectures are recorded, clear and concise. He talks to you like a colleague, not a student. He makes everything simple, and his labs and assignments feel less like work and more like a learning experience. They really stick with you.

Make friends with him, do the homework, and it'll be an awesome class. Tries to put things in ways you'll understand, jokes around a lot, gives you a solid ability to build on what he's doing.

Chin is an amazing professor. He does give a lot of homework(really easy) but it helps with the exams.I took an online class with him and he went above and beyond to teach us C++. He always respond to his emails within a few hours and provide great feedback. Take a class with him if you have 4-5 hrs to spare for assignments each week. Very friendly

Amazing professor. I took his class only when i could not take other instructors class whose rating was higher. However, after attending his first class, i was very happy. No other professor could ever teach like him. Gives real life analogies while teaching. His class is fun. I highly recommend to take his class.

One of the best personalities I've ever seen in a prof. While most professors are moody and seem like they hate their jobs, Kenward is always enthusiastic and a great guy in general. He teaches well and makes everything easy to understand. Due to COVID-19 he let everyone do their exams in a 3-day span to make it easier for us. Highly recommended.

I love Professor Chin's class. Yes, he does assign a lot of work. Don't expect to finish the assignments in half an hour. But he makes dry material about as fun as it can be. You don't need to attend the lectures (he records them in case you can't attend), but I recommend it. Also, he does not have an accent, I don't know where that's coming from.

I would take him for every class. He makes all the material more interesting, is energetic and you can tell he likes his job. Best professor I've ever had, hands down.

a fun professor and lectures are also fun will explain the labs and assignments in the lectures exactly how to do it. the labs and assignments are straightforward, it is hard to mess up as everything is explained step-by-step. I would definitely recommend his class, I put not sure for grade since his grading is a bit late but my grade is around A

Honestly one of the best teachers so far.

Chin's instructions are clear, and he explains concepts in ways that allow students to follow clearly. His speech is always very clear. His assignments and lectures are thorough, easy to understand, and, alongside the tests, are very professionally formatted. Chin's only polarizing attribute is that he tends to procrastinate in marking assignments.

Great professor with nice and easy to understand lectures, would take again. Not a lot of hw. I'd say the only thing is he tends to mark assignments late, and tests feel a bit long for the time allowed. A cheat sheet is allowed on them though so they aren't bad. Quizzes also sometimes have trivia like questions but both combined are only worth 10%.

Pre-solid prof, allows cheat sheets on exams, quizzes are a bit tricky, and assignments are a bit long but other than that he's good. He cracks a few jokes and makes good analogies about gordon ramasy.

Pretty nice guy. In my opinion the course I took was a bit of a snoozer but he showed enthusiasm throughout. A bit of a slow grader, but it's not a huge deal. Assignment instructions are extremely clear, and his notes are amazingly detailed and useful. If you put in the time and effort, you'll do well.

His Moodle is neatly organized, very easy to navigate for notes and examples. Tough topics to learn, but he is very willing to help. Answers emails fast and is very understanding. He does his best to lift our spirits in class, which I appreciate. If I wasn't an Arts major, I would be taking more of his classes.

Professor Kenward is enthusiastic and makes the material engaging. The assignments are straightforward, but the workload can be heavy. Using unstuckstudy and other study tools helped me stay on top of the content. Overall, a solid class worth taking.

Kenward is one of the GOAT teachers at KPU. His lectures were engaging and interesting. Assignments werent that hard and he is very clear on what is expected. Will try to get more classes with Kenward

The GOAT of all professors when it comes to KPU. you should 100% take server operating systems with him. His quizzes are easy, and his assignments and exams have very clear instructions. Exams are more like a week-long project. It's an incredibly easy to get an A. I had him online but participation was optional, & he records all of his lectures.
