Very good professor. Test are mostly application of knowledge. He does a great job of making sure you understand the subject. I would definitely take him again!

Exams are very conceptual and are not overly difficult (if you understand material) He is very considerate and very approachable. Will explain information thoroughly anytime of the day, during office hours or not. I heard genetics was difficult but with him, he made it understandable, enjoyable and "easy". The class is difficult, it is a junior level biology, and as the person above stated, it is extremely comprehensive. We covered KM and affinity on the second test and used it till the end. However I have never had a science professor who was so engaging and willing to help any student at any time when they needed help. DEFINATELY would take again.

Great professor. Test are all about comprehension and application, no wrought memorization. Extremely helpful and willing to explain. The material in his classes are hard so dont expect easy A's, but if you go to every lecture you should get a B- at worst.

He is one of the best teachers that I've ever had. I did bad in Bios 1/2 and was nervous about cell bio, but it was an easy A only because of the way he teaches. His slides are extremely helpful and wants everyone to do well. I plan on taking genetics and whatever else he is teaching. Definitely take his class. As you can we all feel the same.

I took him for genetics over the summer. The class is not easy, but attending lecture, reading the book, and doing assigned problems are really helpful. I have an A so far and there is only one test left. It is face paced over the summer, but he is extremely intelligent with an abundance of knowledge. Highly recommended!

Dr. Daniel is a great professor! He has only been teaching a couple semester but he knows what he is doing! He is very clear and articulate. He is funny and really knows the material well and loves teaching it! I enjoyed his class but it was hard. I had to study quite a bit and I usually get mostly As I got a B in the class.

Great professor. He tells you in the beginning that you will completely earn your grade based on how you study, not by him curving. Gives two hours for exams, and when one exam got cut short, he curved to compensate. Looks out for his students. Very helpful and funnyin office and class. Puts things in lamen terms so the class can fully understand

Rarely use the textbook. More of it just being another reference for further clarity. Tests are on material in powerpoints and extra notes he says in class. Tries to always provide lecture notes you can print before class. Definitely entertaining and knowledgeable about cell bio. Best teacher you could probably learn from. Definitely take with him

The ABSOLUTE BEST professor at USF! If you are looking to expand your education further after USF definitely take his Cell Biology course. The class does require study time, but he makes the material as clear as possible. He definitely cares about his students and is a nice and funny guy. Make lectures super, super interesting! I loved his class!

I took Dr. Daniel for Biology of Humans and I loved the class! The class itself isn't to hard as it's a biology class for non-majors, but Dr. Daniel made the material very simple and easy. Attendance at the lecture isn't mandatory, but if you want to pass the class go to every lecture. Study his slides for the exams and you'll be fine. He's great!!

This guy is seriously a GENIUS!He is very exciting and into what he teaches. The course can be hard if you don't study, but as long as you read the chapters and keep up with notes the tests are fairly easy. His personal research at Moffit is mind blowing (he is an oncologist by profession, ask him about it)! I highly recommend taking this class :)

Cell Metabolism class wasn't an easy class, but Dr.Daniel made it really fun and approachable. You have to go to class and take good notes, Dr. Daniel is AMAZING!!

Great Biochemistry course for Biology majors. Straight forward but make sure you memorize all the pathways and diseases. I wish the cumulative final was optional other than that the course was great.

Dr. Daniel is an great professor. He knows the material and explains it inside and out. Pay attention in class though, but he makes that easy since he is concise and funny. His tests are extremely fair and no tricks! He tests on being able to apply the concepts and is honest when he tells you what is important (or unimportant) to know.

Dr. Daniel is a great professor and I would definitely recommend his class, but it can be quite challenging because you cannot drop any tests, nor is there any extra credit. His tests are based on the powerpoints not the book, so you don't really need the text book.

I took Cell Bio Online with Dr. Daniel & loved it! His tests are very fair, & he graded about 60% tests, 40% online participation, which included pretests and posttests on the assigned eBook reading. He gave you several tries on the assignments so it was almost impossible not to get the full points. Met 3 times during the semester to take exams.

Dr. Daniel is a great professor! I took his online class this summer. I really learned a lot from him. There were 3 tests that make up 60% of the grade, which were pretty fair. The other 40% are prepost tests on each chapter and are pretty much free points. If you read the book, study concepts and details, you should do fine in the class.

Not an easy A and some people struggle. However, his makes the lectures very interesting and the tests are based off the lecture. Textbook is supplemental. Record lectures, review PowerPoints and review regularly and you'll learn a lot!

Taking his cell bio class online made me want to take more classes with him. His lectures were comprehensive and cover (most) of what was going to be on the test. Tests are tricky, but not impossible and he gives really prompt, helpful feedback when you ask.

Dr. Daniel is good at teaching, but the course material is very hard. Make sure to stay on top of things, otherwise you will not pass. The lectures are interesting (he makes jokes a lot), but FULL of extensive pathways. I suggest memorizing each pathway right after class so you don't end up super behind like I was. Don't be afraid to ask questions.

I love Dr. Daniels; I had him for online Cell Biology, and he is just wonderful. He does mini lectures on each chapter, then you have to do a pre-quiz and post test. It really is easy. Lastly, there are the exams which aren't bad at all especially when he helps you a lot with the exams.

Dr. Daniel is an amazing guy who's really passionate about biology, and he just wants to instill that same passion in his students. His exams are heavily lecture based but it's good to read the textbook for a stronger grasp on the subject. The multiple choice answer choices on his exam questions are very tricky and really test your knowledge.

Tests are base on lectures. If he gives you a GIFT make sure to work hard on it, once you take the test go to his office hours and correct your wrong answers. All 4 tests are the final. 9 Quizzes, 4 exams + final. You will come out of his class knowing bio I, whether you like it or not. Do well on the 1st 3 exams!

This class is very difficult. You need to be ready to read the book and study a lot. His lectures are decent, it's sometimes hard to take notes as he talks about a picture that is on the screen quite often. His tests are extremely difficult. You really have to think about each question, what it is asking, and which answer choice best answers it.

Lectures are hilarious. By far hardest class I took at USF but at the end of the semester you will know your stuff. Tests are very unpredictable and you will need to prepare appropriately. Do not take the class lightly. Daniels is a great professor and is always available. The problem is the line is out the door during his office hours.

Dr. Daniel really cares about his students. The test questions come completely from the lectures. Daniel does not always give GIFTs but when he does, if you share it in a doc with the class and find all the answers, it is exactly like the exam! You only get the gift like 3 days before the exam so be prepared! however recently he stopped giving gifts and allowed a flashcard with whatever you want on it. Without the gift, Study Hard!!!!!

This is the 3rd class I took with him. He is extremely intelligent and an amazing lecturer. He no longer provides his "gift" or any exam review material at all. Dr Daniel is one of the best professors at USF. Took him for both biochemistry and cell metabolism. He takes hard concepts and makes them easy. He truly cares about teaching and his students. Doesn't use the textbooks for his class, which helps you save money. If you get the chance to take his class, do it.

The level of difficulty is definitely 4ish, but if you study hard, it's no problem. No surprises on exams; he makes things very clear. His grading structure is fair; lots of opportunity to do well. Basically majority of grade is Online quiz with multiple attempts or participation. 3 exams and optional final to drop exam. Exams based on work day things he makes you write down.

Daniel is great. Had him for General Biochemistry and the exams were very fair. Course had 4 exams with 1 drop exam included. Other % of grade came from quizzes and class attendance. Workdays were really helpful for understanding concepts/problem-solving. Overall, had a great experience with Biochemistry because of Daniel!

Dr. Daniel is the BEST professor and is always willing to help you. This is not an easy class, you have put in time to study and memorize a lot of structures. You meet once per week for work days and on Fridays (optional). There are 3 exams (75%) and a final (optional). I recommend taking the final, you won't regret it. Focus on his ppt's.

10/10 BEST professor I have ever had at USF. So many resources available to you that it is impossible to not suceed in this class if you try. He posts lectures online so you don't have to go to class if you don't want to. If you memorize his slides no reason to not get an A. Exam is EXACTLY like the slides. verbatim basically. Great professor, but no his tests are not verbatim from his slides like the review below me says. Don't expect an easy A because this class is difficult, all his exams are cumulative, there are short answer questions as well; test questions are sometimes vague, which makes them sort of tricky, but if you put the work in then it is doable.

Had him for General Biochemistry. Good professor and explained things very well. The exams were hard but totally doable. His transcripts were very helpful.

Clinical chemistry with Dr. Daniel consists primarily of group work. It is a small class and each week your group either does a write up or a presentation of a case study. He gives good feedback. There are 2 small tests but they are nothing to worry about and he lets students work together to prepare. Being in a good group really makes this class.

Loved Daniels! He cares about you UNDERSTANDING the class and works with you if you need it. He likes his students to work together to do homework and if you are lucky will present your class with gifts (redacted tests) before the tests. If you need a question answered you are best going to him, some of his TA aren't always helpful but many were.

He posts the test without the answers a couple days before the exam. I got an 88 on the first test with hardly any studying. you only go to class once a week to do TA assignments. There you can ask him questions are he is very helpful and doesn't make you feel dumb

Dr. Daniel has an interesting teaching style, where there are no in class lectures. All of the lectures are online, and you have to go to a work session on either Mon. OR Wed. The lectures he puts online are absolutely amazing. He is extremely approachable, and if youre lucky hell give a gift as a study guide which is literally the exam.

Dr. Daniel is one of the vet professors I have had! He truly cares about his students, and hopes they all excel. He is extremely accessible and very helpful. I would recommend Dr. Daniel 100% of the time!

He has specific ways for making the tests easier to work with but only divulges those techniques in class before the exam. His explanations for topics are broad in the beginning to allow for better understand but gets more specific toward the end of the course, so stay up to date!

Dr. Daniel has an interesting teaching style but it causes students to study effectively. In some ways hes very arrogant but I dont believe he means to come across that way. Hes somewhat of a pushover too because he gives you his exam 3 days before exam day. If youre looking to take biochemistry and not study or learn too much hes your guy.

Took for BCH 3053. Does everything he can to help students succeed. Encourages students to ask him questions and works directly with them in class. Test questions are fair. I really appreciated Daniel's teaching style, he had online lectures and the class time was used to answer questions that prepared you for exam-style questions. Dr Daniel is a great professor. But the online quizzes can be hard. The due dates for assignments are confusing. sometimes its 12 pm, 12 am, 5 pm and on different days of the week. Exams are tough!

Dr. Daniel is someone that you can tell is smart. However, I didn't really think his in class assignments were helpful. He claimed that they got you ready for the exam but I never saw one thing from the ICA's on an exam. Exams are all cumulative but they are doable. Make sure you use the gift to study, as his exams are oddly specific!

One of the best professors at USF. He gives every resource you need to succeed and is more than generous. He posts online lectures, drops the lowest test, gives extra credit, gives 6% of grade basically for free, and allows the final to replace all tests. Make no mistake, he is there to challenge you. Dr. Daniel was the best professor I've had at USF. Going to class and then listneing again to his lectures at home help so much. As long as you constantly practive the pathways, you are good to go. Great professor! He is one of the best if not the best Bio professor at USF. Hes knowledgeable, encourages team work to digest the material, provided office hours, holds challenge sessions where you work with others to review materials moderated by him. He is respectful, responsive to his students needs and he will Challenge you to learn!

If you want a chance at the A, make sure that you work through at least the lectures and the gifts. If you definitely want the A, then I recommend going to ICAs, understanding each of the course objectives, and being able to work through problems without using the gift. Dr. Daniel is an excellent professor; I highly recommend you take him!

Such a great professor. He makes the class engaging even if the class time is not for lectures but instead for challenge questions. He genuinely cares for his students and wants them to pass. There are 3 exams and an optional final. He teaches with pathways in his own style but they are very helpful and help you visualize the course material.

Dr. Daniel is a great guy. He does have online lecture videos but he offers so many opportunities to ask questions and get help. You need to put in the effort to really understand and memorize but overall you will learn a lot in this class. Knowing organic chem is helpful and pH calculations but he will teach you what you need to know.

Dr. Daniel is a GEM at USF. He really cares about his students and their grades. Biochem isn't easy but he teaches really well and is always available for questions. He drops a quiz AND a test! He also responds quickly to emails. I highly recommend him over Harmon and Gellis.

Phenomenal Professor. A real gem to usf. I'm taking him again for Cell bio next semester. Really really helpful. I didn't really attend lecture because I like teaching myself but the exams are fair and he gives exam gifts which are redacted exam questions. Fill them out and you should't fail the exams.

Amazing professor. Second class with him and I wasn't disappointed. There was a group project called the Creature but it is super easy and grading is lenient. Gifts for exams but they actually were pretty difficult so make sure to study.

The smaller quizzes can be based on the book material so beware, and exams are based off his lectures. "Gifts" are offered but cell bio is broad, fill these out as best as you can.

This is a brilliant professor. There is frequent communication. This class is tough, because he drives home that the students must know the information backwards and forwards; no surprises. You'll need good study techniques, watch his lectures prior to class, and go to all his classes including TA's classes. Take this professor's course.

Daniel is a super nice and solid prof. Do not rely on only his prerecorded lectures to pass his exams; you need to go to the optional challenge sessions that are during class time. The exam questions are so specific that you can't even try to slack off on memorizing pathways. He gives you the exam with redacted parts, it's a collaborative effort.

Dr. Daniel is perhaps one of the coolest professor in USF. I took his BCH 3053 class. With the extra credits he give out, I have a grade of 103% in his class. His recorded lectures help but alone, is not enough. I used Khan Academy and you tube videos for supplements. I would take him again in a heart beat.

Please take one of his classes! This professor genuinely cares about his students and gives opportunity to raise your grade! The quizzes are unlimited attempts (usually) and he is always willing to explain any question you may have about the material during office hours or even after class. Funny obsession with gerbils and an overall friendly dude.

Took Dr. Daniel during Summer C. Had "Gifts" before each exam with redacted exam questions, quizzes had unlimited attempts, and exams 1 and 2 had a 2 point bonus, and exam 3 had a 4 point bonus (all involving his gerbils). Exams about 70% of grade. He cares about his students, and replies quickly to emails and has ample office hour time.Take him!

DD is one proffessor you'd regret not taking. His Cell Metabolism class is loaded with material and attending lectures helps significantly, not to mention he's a fantastic lecturer. Dr. Daniel keeps the class engaged and likes to question the room, I suggest watching lectures ahead to prepare & youll easily pass.

Your best professor for a tough class. Never met a professor who cared so much about his students, their success, and to actually make you interested in the material. He's not there to make you fail. He's there to inspire you into learning.

Ah, my dear Kenyon Daniel. He is so awesome. lectures and slides are straightforward. Great at explaining things. He will literally give you test questions and a copy of the test before hand to study. Is obsessed with Gerbils. By far one of the most goated professors in the history of the cosmos.

GERBILS!!! iykyk, anywayssss this guy is super cool, approachable. Although this cell metabolism class was challenging he is always there to help along with the gift which pretty much is the test.

What can I say? Anyone who has taken DD will say the same thing: HE IS AMAZING! and WE DON'T DESERVE HIM! Do not be scared of approaching him because he will answer anything & will never judge you. As a heads up, the GIFT is just that, a gift from the heavens. Also- look out for a GERBIL in his class (iykyk).

Dr. Daniel is absolutely AMAZING! He does a flipped classroom approach which allows for active learning. The information is truly interesting and Dr. Daniel makes it super engaging. He is accessible during office hours and responds to emails in a timely fashion. Also, do and memorize the GIFT it will help you a bunch!! 100/10 would recommend him!

Take this professor if you can! The gifts alone could help you get a good grade, you just need to put in the extra bit of work to get an A.

Great professor. Lectures well and (relatively) easy to follow. He provides an amazing study guide before each exam so you're not left guessing what's on exams. Make sure you set aside time for his class; cell metabolism is content heavy, but not difficult. Only professor I would recommend for this class.

This class is pretty smooth-sailing if you've taken his biochem class before. I like Daniel a lot, he cares about his students, and his study guides for his exams are life-changing. It is refreshing to see a professor that takes an interest in the subject with care to his students as well. Just take him!

Daniels is a super awesome professor. He gives "gifts" to help with the finals and if done correctly, can guarantee an A in the class. Super nice and loves to talk with his students. Totally recommend for any course

Dr. Daniel is by far the best professor I've had in college, very engaging lectures and he will help you if you ask. The class is challenging but it's worth it; Cell Metabolism is the most interesting class I've taken at USF.

Dr. Daniel is by far the best science professor I've taken on the Tampa campus. He cares deeply about his students and genuinely wants them to all succeed. Cell metabolism has definitely been a difficult course, but he does everything he can to help you do well in it. Be on the lookout for his gifts (absolute lifesavers) and gerbils! 10/10 person.

Dr. Daniel is a super nice guy, gives all the resources you need to succeed, and is very helpful to his students. The class itself is honestly harder than orgo, as it's lots and lots of memorization. In my opinion, a good bit of it is pointless to memorize in this day and age. But Dr. Daniel himself is a gem, thank goodness he's the one teaching.

Dr. Daniel is very caring for his students. He uses a flipped classroom so attendance is not mandatory. Class sessions consist of lecture and practice challenge questions. Your grade is made up of quizzes, exams, and a Pathway Trace. The Gift is amazing. This is a very good class to take when studying Biochemistry for the MCAT.

Dr. Daniel is the best biochem professor. His tests are fair and he provides extra credit opportunities. Biochem is a hard class but Professor Daniel does his best to make the subject engaging. In addition, he gives a study guide that is very helpful for the exam. I would take him if you have the option to.

Cell Metabolism with Professor Daniel is challenging, but he makes it manageable with great resources. Attending lectures and using Unstuckstudy for study prep really helps. An engaging professor who cares about student success.

He is a wonderful and highly knowledgeable professor. His lectures are engaging and interesting. His exams emphasize applying knowledge rather than relying on memorization. This class is incredibly useful for MCAT preparation. If you have questions, his email responses are always detailed and thorough.

Dr. Daniel is amazing at teaching Fundamentals of Clinical Chemistry. This class is great for aspiring physicians to get exposed to diagnosing patients when given a case study. 50% of the grade is based on group presentations. 20% on Exams. 5% on Quizzes. 25% on the Final Project. Very simple and easy to get an A.

Biochemistry is a very difficult course, but he makes it very manageable with well put together presentations, lectures, and quizzes. This is the teacher to take for biochemistry.

Genuinely the best professor at USF! He is funny, lectures are entertaining, and he encourages students to ask questions when the material gets difficult. no attendance, 1 exam dropped. hes passionate about the subject and really happy to help if you talk to him. probably my best chemistry course so far and would highly recommend biochem w dr daniel. the stuff we learn in class is on the mcat, not just bluff. weekly quizzes, and a handful of other assignments, all unlimited attempts. online exams.

Amazing Biochem professor. I wouldn't succeed in this class without taking the course with him. The contents are manageable as long as you complete the study guide he gave w/ classmates. Respond email quickly. Always want us to succeed.

I absolutely love Dr. Daniel. Even though the class's content is challenging, Dr. Daniel's lectures make the content feel interesting and comprehendible. As long as you have a way to memorize the pathways and diseases covered, you will do great in his class! Also, don't miss any gerbils.

Daniel was awesome! VERY clear about what will be on the test, almost to a fault. Great lecturer, makes hard material easy but still preserves a lot of depth. Don't take another professor if he's available

Since it is biochemistry, it's definitely not easy. However, Professor Daniel really does make it so that you can still do well in the course. The gifts are so helpful. He responds to emails very fast and is very caring so take him!

Caring professor who demonstrates an exceptional capability of explaining the material to his students. Tests are easy and manageable if you study all materials he gives (lectures, quiz, challenges), and make sure you attend lecture summaries as they are very interesting and helpful! He is a wonderful guy. Gift is really helpful for exams as well.

Best professor for biochem! lectures include a summary and the ability to ask questions the next hour with challenges. Lectures are expected to be done prior to class but this is extremely helpful!!!

Dr. Daniel is the absolute BEST professor ever!! Don't even think about taking anyone else! He genuinely cares about all his students and wants everyone to succeed!! His lectures are amazing and very entertaining!

Dr. Daniels is the greatest professor I have had at USF. He's very straight forward and consistent. Study the content, watch his lectures, ask questions, and you WILL pass. I cannot stress enough that really giving the time to study will truly help in this class. Collaboration is encouraged. He is kind and understanding, and loves questions.

Flipped classroom. Tuesdays lecture, Thursdays are challenge days, he walks around and answers any questions you have. Gives "gift" before exam, the exam but parts redacted. Biochem is a tricky class.. make sure you can answer all the challenge questions + gift before the exams to pass. Beware exams are 79% of your grade. Final can replace lowest.

Prof. Daniel is an amazing proffessor. He is super nice and funny and makes the class enjoyable. Biochem is a hard class but Prof. Daniel makes it manageable

Took for General Biochem. Genuinely one of the best professors I've had here at USF. He was very good at breaking down difficult topics to the level we are at, rather than expecting us to meet his level. He offered many opportunities to do well in his class and was very open and excited to answer questions. (Got a high A/ final not required)

Dr. Daniel is fantastic. I took biochem without having taken orgo (nontraditional student) so I was scared, but he made it so approachable. He's super kind in answering questions and was such a character. I def recommend actually going to class, do The Gifts on your own first, and you can be done w/ the class by Thanksgiving! (final optional)

Dr. Daniel was a great and very funny professor! The class to me was very straightforward and required very little outside work. He was also very caring when it came to exams with the gift aka a good "cheat sheet" for the exams. Can't wait to take him for Biochem next semester.
