Awesome teacher, lots of notes
This class sucked. I wanted to die everytime I went in. The material was lame and she was obviously biased. QUIT USING SO MANY AIR QUOTES.
Great teacher, very interesting class. Lots of notes and papers, but at least it was never boring!
She is very biased on what she lectures but approachable for help. You write journals on given topics, a midterm and final all in essay format, and one big paper. She writes all the notes on the board and most of them are taken from the textbooks and everything on the board is on the test. I got an "A" and I didnt have to agree with her lectures
This class i would recomend to anyone. great teacher and the class is very interesting if u put in the work this class is a relitivly easy A. loved it and would t ake it again. PS she also teaches race
I absolutely hated the subject, but she made it bearable for me. Although we disagree on almost everything, she was receptive to my opinion and didn't use any bias when grading my essays. I think she is a good teacher and a fun person.
Kerri makes the class fun and interesting-you must take good notes becase there is no text used in the 101 class-she is a liitle biased in her thinking, but is open to hearing the students as well. I enjoy her classes so much I have taken two different classes with her.
Ms. Diggins is awesome, her class is not that hard if you show up and write the papers. She cares about each student and wants each person to get an A. She is firm with her beliefs and teaches the class from her perspective but welcomes ideas that are different from hers and does not grade bad if they are not her beliefs.
Very easy teacher. Had 2 exams and had to write 6 response papers. Was an easy grader and wrote all the notes on the board, which helped.
Amazing Teacher
I dread this class each week. She is not a good teacher.
I am currently enrolled in Gender and Society. I love going to class and look forward to it. She is the best teacher ever... friendly, approachable, cares about her students.. she's just cool.
Shes a great teacher and very approachable. Lots of notes, however all good notes. She tells you what to study. She encourages class discussion and has very intersting lectures. Stay up on notes, and study them for your tests and you will do well. Highly recomended, I would take her again for sure.
Kerry is one of the most amazing teachers you will find at SCC. I have taken 3 of her classes and would high recommend, she grades fair and always wants to see you succeed!
I have taken two of Keri's classes. She is awesome. One of my favorite teachers by far. I would strongly suggest to take any of her classes.
Don't let the "Response" papers fool you, it's not writing your reactions, or what you think. It's diving in these articles and having to answer questions. Wish it was writing about your reactions, would be easier.
Keri's one of the coolest :) She returns assignments pretty quickly, she writes everything on the board for you(But abbreviates, so be watchful), and just a real easygoing, mellow gal. Class went off on a few tangents, and I'll agree the papers are a pain, but make sure you answer every question and reference every article she tells you to use.
When you get a response paper, make sure you answer everything she asks and reference everything she wants, if you don't she'll drop you a letter grade. If you at least turn in the response papers = easy C/B but getting an A in the class is brutal. Her tests questions/answers all sound plausible so study, even if you think you know it.
She was a great teacher! We didn't use a text book just lots and lots of notes. Tests were pretty brutal so you need to study really hard but it shouldn't be hard to pass.
When she actually talks about the class she is pretty clear, but that wasn't often. She spent so much of the class talking about how she was fat, how many pounds she had lost, and how all her boyfriends dumped her I wondered if it would be on the test
shes a cool teacher!! just do the respnse paper and actually pay attention and class and you will find yourself with an A/B for a final grade!
I loved this class and she is so cool and down to earth. I would absolutely take another class with her. Be sure to take great notes and write down everything she puts on the board and you should do very well. Seriously I would definitely take this class.
Very intelligent and has an in your face attitude, which is perfect. She pays attention to detail and always gives feedback. Keeps the class engaged.
Great professor. I learned a great deal. Test were hard and papers required exact repsonses. Heavy lecture class. Only compliant was she would get off topic sometimes and it was boring in a night class.
With an open mind, Keri helps stretch some of the myopic views society uses in labeling & keeping genders ultimately divided. She is fair & easy to work with; especially in regards to note taking (tests can be challenging, though :) A most interesting class taught by an interestingly attractive professor (...now if only she was a bit older :)
Professor Diggins is one of the worst professor I have ever had. Very biased on her views meaning polically. Also grades response papers horribly, responses have to be exactly what she wants. I advise you to not take this professor.
She is a very good teacher! I thought the class was really easy. All you need to do is make sure you do all the response papers and pay attention in class and you'll easily get an A. She is very clear in her lectures and is extremely interesting. I would take this class again!
Great teacher!
Great teacher! Informative class!
Great teacher, fun class, alot of papers to it. Good atmosphere and easy to voice opinion. Fenway is awesome, enough said
I took her class online over the summer and it wasn't the easiest. She doesn't communicate that much about what she wants to see form her students. She gives out a ton of readings in the books. Don't let this online class fool you. If you want to enjoy your summer do not take it.
Kerri is a very good teacher and she has high expectations from her students. I got an A in the class and worked hard for it. Make sure that you read the promts for her response paper very closly and include EVERYTHING. I would even suggest scheduling a meeting with her to review your paper before you turn it in and also go to writing center.
I took gender and society online, I found the class pretty interesting but it is pretty much all reading and writing. She is not an easy grader either. Each assignment is a 4+ page paper on the reading assignments. It is definitely possible to get an A though.
She is one of my favorite teachers. As long as you take the response papers really seriously and write notes basically word for word, you should be ok. It is not an easy A class but she is a great teacher and brings her dog to class everyday which is something I looked forward to.
She is wonderful, a great teacher, very interested in the topics. It is not an easy A but if you work hard, you'll get it. Take the response papers seriously and take good notes and you'll be set. I enjoyed this class and she brings her dog to class everyday who is the SWEETEST thing ever!!
She was extremely helpful! She truly assists her students so you can be successful in the course. I took her for a 25 day summer online course and she was an excellent professor who was willing to help me within the course when I needed assistance. The material and course itself was also very interesting and enjoyable.
For an online course, the information was very clear and understandable. She was so helpful and quick at getting back to you. I never felt like I couldn't get a hold of her and it was really comforting to know how accommodating and helpful she was.
I was hesitant to take this online class at first, but it's been a really great class and I've enjoyed taking it and feel like I've gotten a lot out of it. The only criticisms I have is that the film critiques are supposed to be at least 4 pages. For me that was tough.
Ms. Diggins in unprofessional. She wastes class time giving unnecessary examples & talking about sports & television. Her note-taking skills are horrid; her whiteboard often resembles a coach's playbook. Her essay assignments are too general, and her expectations for them, too specific. She'll ask your opinion just to disagree. I do not recommend.
Keri is wonderful. She knows what she is talking about and makes lecture enjoyable. She is well-prepared for each class. Very interesting, well presented class. Everything was appealing, assignments were clear. I would recommend her class to anyone.
Great class. Teacher is very passionate about what she teaches. I would reccomend this to anyone.
Great class! Took it online, I'm sure it would be even better face to face. I made a B because I became less disciplined and started to slack off towards the end. I had to play catch up. My fault though. She is extremely helpful, prompt in answering emails, and provides her cellphone #. Take this teacher, you won’t regret it if you love sports!
Keri (and Fenway) are great! She makes class interesting so that you want to come to the next class. Lectures aren’t boring AT ALL. She gets students involved. She's always available for questions. She gives out reviews for the tests and gives extra credit. She makes me want to major in SOC even more. Love her. She was born to teach!
Not a pleasant experience.
The most well organized class I think I have ever taken. Lecture/notes/paper was all well explained and clear. Great enthusiasm by the teacher. Overall very happy to have taken and learned in this class
Really enjoyed this class, probably my most favorite!! The papers reflected the course & wish the extra credit paper was allowed to be turned in a little later (like on final day). But amazing class!
I enjoyed the class a lot. Learned a lot about society & gender and got better taking notes and writing papers. Tough grader, but ultimately fair and cares what you have to say.
I would highly recommend this course, especially with this instructor. Definitely one of my favorite instructors here at SCC. I really enjoyed every class this semester. I enjoyed class discussions; they were always interesting and gave greater understanding to the topics.
The online class is tough. Took the class thinking, I love sports, it would be my easiest class of the semester. I thought we'd just discuss what you see on Sportscenter. I didn't realize we'd be sociologically analyzing sports. She has high expectations, but also is very helpful/wants you to succeed.
I really enjoyed this class. It was an awesome class to do for my Honors class - loved every second. Learned a lot! Fun, interesting course! Instructor was very specific and detailed in her lessons. Also, very funny and outgoing. Would definitely take another course with her again. Would totally be down to take the sports class she teaches.
Some topics were very hard to listen to as well as discuss, but I always felt like I walked away with such useful and enlightening knowledge. Keri always presented the information with great professionalism and composure. Hopefully I can take another one of her classes in the future.
The course really opens your eyes to the issues that are related to gender and society. Keri does an amazing job of teaching the course. Definitely recommend! One of the better teachers I have had at Scottsdale
Enjoyed the class and subject matter. I did well, but not sure I'm an online student. I did well because Keri provided her personal cell phone # to the class. We were allowed to call whenever. If she didn't answer, she called back very quickly. I benefited from calling her. My other online professors don't do the same. Appreciated it! Thanks!
One of my best instructors so far. I like how everything came from the notes. Would definitely recommend this class to others and I would take another class with this instructor ANYTIME I loved this class. Very enjoyable! Positive experience.
Really enjoyed this course! You have to apply yourself and really understand the material otherwise you will not be successful. The teacher is very helpful and will answer any questions you have to help you do the best you can in the course. She wants you to succeed, and even gives her phone number to online students to answer questions.
Beyond tough grader! If you want an A, do not take this class. She will tell you she does not even give them out so don't try. Lots of papers and will give you an idea of what she wants but will grade with the mentality that you should know what she wants beyond what she tells you. So when she says give an example, she means at least 15 detailed!
Papers are a joke, she wants you to regurgitate back her long lectures. Not open to students having an opinion on the material. I am an honors student and she says she never gives A's. I work very hard in this class just as I do in other classes for her to NEVER give an A. That is not fair to those of us who work hard and care about our GPA.
Excellent course! If I had to do it over again, the only thing I would say is that this is a class better taken face-to-face. There are many things that can be discussed in a classroom and by having an excellent teacher as she is, you should take advantage of the face to face interaction that a classroom provides.
It was not an easy class, you do really need to show up, take notes, and study for the exams, but Keri is great. She is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the topic. She is also more than willing to work with students. I would recommend this class to anyone who wants to learn about everyday issues regarding gender. FUN CLASS
Incredibly laid back. One of the most engaging professors Ive had. It was a pleasure to have taken Keris class. I never missed a class. I loved every minute. I will say, even though I earned an A, I had to work harder for it, compared to other classes. The class is challenging, but I am a better writer and a more thorough writer.
Fascinating. Loved it. The discussions are great. They encourage other ideas, thoughts and examples. Evaluations are exactly what we cover in class. Keri is informative, enthusiastic, open-minded, and great as a teacher and person. Course is very insightful to real world issues. Would VERY much SO recommend.
So glad I took Keri's class. The subject matter was captivating. Looking forward to taking her film class online. All I can say is Totally Rad! She's personable, totally laid back and such a great professor. Highly recommend you take a class with her.
LOVE HER. Write down all of the notes on the board! EVERYTHING. Be organized and ask questions. If you are not into writing papers, this class wouldn't be the best. Very interesting, very smart, and knows her sports. If you go to class, take GREAT notes, study, you will get an A :) OH and she brings her cute dog to class everyday.
Taking notes is absolutely essential. Take notes. On ev-er-y-thing. Everything. And don't wait till the night before to start your papers like I did. There is plenty of time in between each paper, but that time should really be spent reviewing + absorbing your notes + assigned literature.
I took it online. It was eye opening. I love sports, but started to look at sports in a different light or I should say with a sociological perspective. The response papers are fun, but challenging. 3 papers are 60% of your grade. I was worried about an online class, but Keri makes herself VERY available. She even gives you her cell phone #.
At first I was taken back by Keri's opinionated standpoint, but throughout the class her viewpoints made you realize the extremities of the other side on these important issues. I never looked or would have been able to realize how important these issues were if it werent for her. Magnificent teacher.
Extremely passionate about sociology and extremely educated in the field. Workload is perfect. Excellent in involving everyones ideas and thoughts within the interaction of the class. I learned more than I could ever imagine. Highly recommend. I loved it, great teacher, fair and helpful. A+ on class. Keri is my favorite teacher so far in college.
Great class. Loved Keri and her dog Fenway. He is SO CUTE and SWEET. You didn't even know he was there - great additional "classmate." I loved the material we learned about. Keri definitely has a passion for the subject and is well-versed in teaching the material. Workload was a bit more than expected, but it is 200-level. Highly recommend class.
Subjects covered were interesting. I would have enjoyed the course more in person. It was challenging to do on my own. Keri was extremely helpful though. She understands an online course is more difficult and gives you her cell phone #. You can class her anytime. I appreciated this. Not sure I would have made it without her being so available.
One of my fav professors! Don't take other SOC classes with any other teacher. Keri is the best! She cares about her studentshelps you to succeed. Her tests and response papers are challenging, but after the first paper and test, you get a feel for what she expectsis looking for. BE SURE to pay careful attention when she goes over the prompts.
Took hybrid class. I wish I had taken it Face-Face. The lectureslesson plans are ALL online. Class meetings were to go over the lesson plans, study guides, paper, and to take exams. Keri is an AMAZING prof! She really helps you and wants you to understand the material! Because many of us struggled with it being a hybrid, exams were open note.
I have previously taken one of her classes. I enjoy her very much. She is straightforward, the material is well presented. She always wants us to participate and she demonstrates a passion for the subject. Great and interesting class. BTW: Personally, I enjoyed the hybrid course. The audio files were very thorough and Keri provided great examples.
Loved the class and atmosphere. Definitely sign up for another class with her. Keri is a terrific prof. Best class Ive taken at SCC. She has an ease about her that makes it fun to learn. The topics she teaches are interesting to learn about. I feel I have grown personally in all areas of the course. Fenway is the best. He is so well behaved!
I took Introduction to Sociology online this summer. Really awesome instructor, she is very knowledgeable. Great course and curriculum, concepts build and tie well together. I think I was most impressed by how available she was as an online instructor. Every time I called her cell, she answered. Would almost certainly take another class wher.
Keri is very knowledgeable and educated. She discusses controversial topics in a very open-minded and relaxed manner. She presented materials well and in an easy to understand way. She is passionate about sociology, especially gender studies. I will take more classes she teaches. She is inspirational and easy to connect with.
She flat out gives you the number so that you can call her anytime for questions. She will listen to your demand and she will be very reasonable. AS long as you listen to her online lectures (longest is 20 min) and take mini personal notes on them, the exams are not bad at all. She's passionate and don't be afraid to ask her about anything!
I'm taking her Intro Hybrid. All of the lectures are online. We meet to review coursework, study guides and to take exams. With all of the lectures online, you need to be sure to take notes on ALL the audio files. The book helps as well. Keri is SO HELPFUL. You can call her on her cell phone anytime with questions. This has helped me a lot.
I ENJOYED it, though it was not easy. Keri is passionate about what she teaches. Be sure to come to class, take detailed notes of everything she writes on the board, and you should do well. She even gives study guides for the exams and spends a class going over each (which is everything on the exams)Keri wants you to take the most away from class.
Mid Term and Final are huge and not nearly enough time to finish
Her on line course is tough. The material in Canvas doesn't translate if you are using a MAC - I nearly couldn't take the class because of it. The midterm and final are a huge percentage of your grade and they are long and difficult. The material is hard at time to read because it is tragic. Still a very good class.
She grades papers harder than English teachers, and doesn't give you feedback. I would never take her class again.
Keri is an great professor, very approachable and down to earth. Her enthusiasm shows in her online lectures. She is well organized and cares about student experience. I struggled a bit at first with the course online, but once I got the hang of it (due in part to how available she makes herself with her cell phone)A fantastic class to take.
I've taken her sport and gender course. Figured I'd try deviance. Very interesting. The films she uses to teach the material were great. The theories of deviance were fascinating. I also enjoyed the White Collar Crime, Sexual Harassment, Rape and Domestic Violence material, especially rape culture. She's great and very approachable. Thumbs up!
AWESOME! Loved her! Make sure you go to class. The lecture material given in class is needed to do well on the exams and response papers. Write down everything she writes on the board. You will find studying with her study guides helpful. All from the notes. Oh, and if you need help, she is there.
Straight forward class. You need to keep up with the course though. At times I feel behind, but my fault. I felt bad for Keri at times because when we met to go over the study guide for each exam, students admitted they hadnt completed the section. If you do the online lectures and take VERY detailed notes on the audio lectures, you'll be okay.
Keris really nice and passionate about the subject matter. She makes her liberal opinions known, but doesnt force her beliefs on you. She made me see society differently. Take her class, you will learn a lot. I look forward to taking other classes she teaches. Truly a great class.
She's very enthusiastic. I wasnt sure what this course was going to entail, but the content is relevant/keeps you VERY interested. I loved the films you choose from. I enjoyed writing papers and reflecting on the films. She grades fairly and makes herself available to you always. She gives online students her cell number. WOW! Nice course.
I've taken her Gender class, Sport class and now Deviance. She passionate about social injustices, issues, and humanity. She's a wonderful professor who really cares about student success. She's helpful at all times. I've loved every class I've taken, especially Sport because she's such an avid sports fan (and she knows HER STUFF) Take her classes
I love Keri. She is interesting and informative. I really enjoyed the material in the class. Highly recommend this professor. Her lectures are very clear and easy to take notes from. Her exams are also very straight forward. Your notes follow her study guides. She makes class fun and enjoyable as well. She truly likes to get to know her students.
Taking Intro this summer. Keri is a helpful and fair minded. Shes well versed on the subject matter and makes the online lectures worth it. The class is pretty easy.; however, you have to put in the time + effort. Overall, a really good teacher. There were 3 tests and 1 assignment essay. Tests can be a little tricky, but they are open everything
I took gender and society last summer. Expect to work hard. The material was interesting but the workload was heavy. Grading on papers was brutal as were the tests that are mostly essay with a short time limit. I managed to get a "B" but struggled. I graduated this spring and this was the only class(out of 20)that I did not receive an "A" in.
Fantastic prof + good class, not too easy, not too hard. I enjoy online classes so I did very well, but I know a few classmates who struggled. All the material is laid out perfectly. My advice take notes on all of the lesson plans, especially audio files. Her study guides and tests are straight from class materials. No surprises! Would take again.
Keri was amazing! I took her twice and was very happy in both of her classes. She is funny and interesting, exactly what a course like this needs. I would recommend her to anyone! Three essays and three tests. Take notes and follow her guidelines and you will get an easy A!!!!
Really down to earth! Shes approachable, understanding, and fair. As for the course material, shes knows her stuff and the topics are VERY interesting. 4 papers, two tests, study guides are great. Write down everything she writes on the board and you'll do well. Pretty amazing professor. One of the best! I look forward to taking Keri again.
I LOVE Keri. Highly recommend. Interesting and stimulating topics in her Gender course, enthusiastic lectures, a lot of notes, but they are all written on the board. Be sure to write them all down. The 2 exams are straight from the notes. Provides a detailed study guide and spends a class period going over it. Friendly and interactive professor.
I took this class last fall as a result of my first choice being cancelled. If you are a woman and are deeply into the movement you may like this class as it beats up on the so called privileged men of our society. The grading is very subjective and in my opinion personally targeted. Difficult essay tests with minimal time to complete...
Passionate about what she teaches, teaches so that you understand the material. I was never bored while taking this course. Tests and papers can be a bit challenging, but once I got the hang of it, all went smoothly. Just be sure that when she goes over the paper prompts and study guides that you pay attention. Would recommend this course!
Take this class! Keri's amazing. She inspired me to major in SOC. She is so passionate about the material. I learned tons of useful info. She is willing to help her students. The lectures and notes she writes on the board are both important for tests and response papers. Trust me: write down everything she writes on the board and you'll be fine .
I took her Gender course a few years ago and really enjoyed it. She is very passionate about what she teaches. I recently took her online course for Intro to Soc. and it was very tough. I work 8-5 and have 2 kids so online was the best option, but the course runs like a Mon-Friday class. Write what she agrees with and you will get a good grade.
Very enjoyable. Keri is a great professor enthusiastic and it shows. If I have problems with understanding and comprehending the information, she assists. Awesome that she provides her cell phone number for you to call. Wouldn't have asked for anyone else to teach this course. I appreciated her enthusiasm and effort.
Great teacher. Keri uses examples that are applicable and relevant to student's everyday lives. She also makes it extremely easy to participate. She helps with understanding the course materials. She makes sure every student understands every paper and instructions thoroughly. Very well taught class. Would highly recommend this instructor.
A really passionate professor who talks about issues relevant to the world. Lectures are engaging and lively. The class itself is not too difficult. Exams I thought were fair. She is willing to go above and beyond most professors. You can call her personal cell # for almost anything. The help she provided me really helped to clarify the coursework.
Keri has an engaging personality and teaches students to think beyond a passing grade. Her passion for sociology is inspiring and she is very dedicated. You do need to listen to all the audio files because the exams are based on them. The exams themselves aren't too difficult, but you cant blow one off because each is 25% of your grade. Good class
Keri is a passionate sociologist and well versed in the subject matter. She draws on current issues and helped further my ideas. Ive ended up taking a few of her classes and loved them. She teaches clearly and assists you whenever you need something. My suggestion, ask for help when needed. A very refreshing professor.
Keri knows her stuff and poses challenging questions. You can tell that she loves what she teaches. She has a contagious excitement for the material. The class was definitely eye-opening. She makes the subject real. I also found her to be kind, helpful and understanding. She can teach you a lot if you pay attention!! My favorite class this semester
Keri is a genuine, caring professor. Her class is kinda tough, not an easy A! You have to work for it. There are usually 4 papers that can be kinda time consuming but you get to know the subject well. Her lectures are super interesting and its one of those classes where you actually get to know your classmates because theres some discussion.
Keri is a fine professor one of the best Ive had. I thoroughly enjoyed being under her instruction. I felt she demonstrated a unique vision of teaching and a real passion for sociology. She brought great clarify to the material which, given our current climate, is so relevant. She also created a very interactive and lively class. I learned alot
Keri is an excellent teacher. Shes tough but fair, and expects you to do your share. Dont expect to be able to skip class and get an A. Shes very specific about what she wants on the papers and what to study for on the mid term and final. I found her to be interesting and humorous and really enjoyed going to class.
Keri is an inspirational professor. You would be a fool not to take any class she teaches. I never left class less than inspired. For me, I felt it was a life changing course. I never wanted to miss a class. You will enjoy and learn SO MUCH, a solid choice. Grading I thought was a bit tough at first, but I realized you cant expect to skate by.
Keri is very passionate about what she teaches. Shes also very likeable and makes herself available to her students. I found this refreshing. Shes also a great lecturer. The content of the course was very interesting and relevant. I would recommend taking classes she teaches.
Keri is an extremely enthusiastic professor. I loved the content of the course, especially the prostitution and gun violence sections. I learned a lot regarding social problems of today, especially analyzing them by looking at the structure and culture of society. Very informative course.
I took a summer class in Sociology to help me discover where my interests lie as I am an incoming freshman. She was very knowledgeable and really helped to keep everyone engaged and interested and she got along with the students better than just about any teacher I had in high school. After this class I decided to major in sociology at U of A
It was overwhelming at 1st, but Keri is phenomenal. I did think of dropping it, but realized I signed up for a 5 week class. She was encouraging, helpful and caring. She is well-versed in sociology and absolutely knows what she is doing. She cares about your success. The class was engaging. I learned a lot. Look forward to another class w/her.
Keri is awesome. I loved her class. Although it is daunting that she has about 4 assignments and they're each worth 25% of your grade, she is extremely thorough in explaining the material and as long as you take notes, listen and attend class, you should be just fine. She loves this subject and she helps to open our eyes to the real world.
Keri is awesome! Her teaching style is very engaging! I learned so much and I was excited to go to class over the summer. really wish I could take a class with her again.
Keris class was fantastic. Love her teaching style. Shes welcoming, inspiring and willing to give guidance. Marvelous professor who is immensely knowledgeable in sociology. Shes knows how to transmit the material. She's challenging, but youll learn a great deal. Invaluable experience!! Hope to take her again.
Keri is a fantastic teacher and really loves her job. If you take this class be ready to take notes and make sure to never skip a class because you will miss a lot of information. The plus side to notes is every detail of the notes you take, reflect the information on the tests. I truly enjoyed being apart of this class.
I really enjoyed the topics in this class. I like online classes and this was set up well. You just need to be sure that you listen to all of the online lectures. Quizzes werent that bad, nor were the papers. Really enjoyed the class and Keri is always available if you need her. Id take another class she teaches.
10/10 recommend
Keri is the bomb I loved taking this class and its not hard, just show up and pay attention and do what you have to do. Not much homework to do at all and Keri makes the class a good time.
just a great teacher with good lectures and shes fun, just prepare to write about 5 essays but theyre no big deal and she provides all the info needed if you go to class!
Her class was very interesting and I learned a lot. Gave good feedback on papers and isn't a tough grader.
Keri was nice. She was available after class if you are struggling. The papers are supposedly easy because she provides lecture notes and articles and videos online. She is a hard grader even though she gives all the information for the class. I enjoyed her enthusiam for teaching the class but I would personally not take another class.
Diggins is a great teacher, but you have to be understandable of the material. The class is a little difficult when it comes to tests but you have to be willing to learn. I find it very interesting and fun
Keri Diggins is an amazing professor. I would definitely take another class of hers even if it isnt required for my major.
I really enjoyed Keri's gender class. I feel like she had the whole class engaged in topics I thought I would never talk about. She encouraged participation and wanted input from everyone. Her papers and Tests are a little challenging, but if you study the material you will be fine.
Took her summer online class and I regret taking her. She lacks teaching skills and suffocates you with reading, audio files, and exams. She doesn't give you homework, but her exams are heavy. 75 multiple choice questions, 3 short answers and completion must be done in 105 minutes. Her essays are tough and must her strict standards.
Hated every second of this class. You don't need a prerequisite for this class, but that should be changed. She's a hard grader even though she gives you information regarding the class. Some information is left from the notes and she'll purposely test you on that. You're better off getting a different teacher.
Keri's lectures are long and boring. She talks throughout the whole class. Her accent is distracting.
If you have to take a sociology course, I recommend Keri. Her online lectures are long, but everything you need is in the audio files and they match right up with the study guides and exams. I earned a B and enjoyed the class.
Took her 8 week online summer class. I loved the structure of the class. Her audio file lectures have everything you need so you can avoid the textbook. Her study guides are a great preparation for the exams and I love that she gives her cell phone number to call her anytime. Cant wait to take her again. Shes wonderful. Loved her!
3 film critiques/ 3 exams. I loved the films. She is great at relating to students. Although there are alot of audio files because the class is online rather than her lecture in a classroom, the course was never boring. I very much enjoyed the material. Overall, I found her inspirational. No SCC experience would be complete with a class with Keri.
A very engaging course and fascinating subject matter. Keri knows her stuff. Best strategy take extensive notes the first time so you do not have to re-listen to the audio files. Everything from the lectures and audio files are exactly whats on the exams. I'm persuing a SOC minor because of this class. Highly recommend. She's terrific
Do not take this class with this teacher she makes this class way more difficult than it should be. There are so many other teachers who make way more sense unlike this one.
Love Keri. A friend recommended her. I wasnt disappointed. Shes down to earth, relatable and knows how to teach. Film critique assignments were clear, tests not too hard b/c study guides are spot on. I found her very supportive and available. She answered emails promptly and her cell phone each time I called. Enjoyed her, the class and material.
Some how she managed to grade an exam and a paper in about an hour.. not sure how thats possible.... it's clear that she doesnt read papers or exam short answers especiall yif you dont put them word for word of what she says is correct.
quite possibly the worst teacher ive ever had. very unclear directions and shes blowing up my phone leaving me 3 min voicemails. whatever you do please stay away from this professor.
Dont take this class especially online. She is very condescending and her class consists of 5 assignments, an essay and 4 tests. The directions to write the essay made zero sense and she made very condescending remarks about it. She is borderline crazy and a hardcore liberal who brings her radical beliefs to class with her. Dont Take this class
Amazing class! Pros: Thorough lectures that cover every single question on the exams, detailed instructions on essay that's due and very entertaining lectures. Impossible to fail this class if you actually listen to lectures! Cons: If you are not a person that actively takes notes - this class isn't for you. likely college as a whole isn't either.
Keri is incredible. I took Soc101 online. It was one of the best and most practical courses Ive taken. She does a fantastic job explaining topics and relating them to issues in the world. She is deeply knowledgeable and cares about the learning of her students. She teaches you how to think and write like a sociologist.
This is my second online class. Love Keri and the structure of her classes. In teaching the material she gives present-day examples to engage us. She makes papers very clear, as well as interesting. Exams are straight from study guides she gives. Looking forward to her new Drugs and Society class in the Spring. From what shes told us sounds great
Keri is one of the better Profs at SCC. She brings passion and devotion to the classroom, even online. You can tell she loves the subject matter. Sociology was clearly her calling. Its important to be studious from the start. Take a class with her, I promise she will change the way you feel about societal and racial matters. Genuinely, eye-opening
Engaging lectures, really helpful outside of class, fair grader and very understanding. Exams follow the study guides identically and I like that she uses real world examples to ensure that students understand the material and application. Definitely would take another class with her.
Keri is a great professor who really keeps the class entertaining and educational. Good lecturer who literally spoon feeds you everything. The exams are straightforward and the papers arent too bad, about 4 page papers. She loves her work, and it shows. Im walking away from this class enlightened.
Definitely one of the best teachers Ive had. She gives very interesting lectures. Her tests arent too bad because she is very clear about what to expect on them. I enjoyed her class again, actually this is my second class with Keri, and I plan to take her drug class that shes been mentioning as a new class being offered in the Spring. Thumbs Up!
Before this class I had heard alot of great things about Keris class so I had high hopes to begin with. Now having taken her class, I was completely impressed. I cant begin to tell you how much I enjoyed this class. I enjoyed coming to class everyday. She makes you eager to learn. Definitely recommend. Keris awesome.
quite possibly the best teacher ive ever had. very clear directions and shes never blowing up my phone leaving me 3 min voicemails. whatever you do please stay with this professor. But more seriously. Pretty good teacher. Do note that she'll look for specific keywords when grading and in class but is relatively fair in synonym acceptance.
One of the better online classes Ive had. I learned tons, unlike other online. Excellent professor with timely feedback. Her study guides really help you study better for tests. I just didnt realize this until after the first exam. Suggestion: make sure you use them. I found it was better to print them while I was listening to the audio files.
Professor Diggins is a great teacher who has a deep knowledge of the subject. Took an accelerated 8 week course with her online and she was very upfront about the expectations of such a short class. Some online courses feel 'non-interactive' and highly monotonous. Her class and the material was very interesting. Enjoyed it a lot.
Oh man I loved this class. Keri is super knowledgeable and expects her students to be too. Her class is tough! But as long as you show up, complete the class discussions, and complete the papers you will be fine. Make sure that you put A TON of detail in your paper because that is what she is looking for, and make sure you answer all the questions
I have had my fair share of teachers online. Keri is very personable, lectures are interesting/never boring, and she cares deeply for students, even online, as she always replies to emails or phone calls promptly. My other online professors havent put the amount of effort like she does. Definitely looking into taking another online class with her.
Took hybrid 101. Lectures all online. She's passionate and informed. Because she's passionate she gives plenty of examples that we can relate. Never a dull moment. Not an easy A though, which I was hoping for (lol), but putting in the effort like I did got me there. Exams are in class, though kinda tough so take good notes b/c exams open everything
Such a good professor. Keri takes the time to fully review each response paper and each of the exams. She spent the right amount on each section of material and the topics were fascinating. I learned a great deal and apply what Ive learned in this class to everyday life. Definitely many thumbs up.
Keri is an amazing professor. Probably the best professor ive ever had. She makes all of her lectures interesting and encourages class discussion. I highly recommend taking one of her classes!!
Keri is incredibly passionate about sociology. She is one of my inspirations to pursue a Sociology major. Be sure to take notes on all audio files and use the study guides. They will really help you to do well on exams, which are straight forward. Overall a great class! Loved the films. She gives extra credit. Would definitely take again!
At first impression, Keri can be intimidating, but as the class went on she truly cares + wants you to succeed. Hell, she gives you her cell number. That was a first for me, but wow did I appreciate it as an online student who cant go to campus for office hours. Keri gives you the tools to succeed, but you have to work for it. Keri is inspiring.
She really dives in, makes you get the concepts and how they apply to life. While there isn't much homework (5 assignments all semesteran essay + 4 exams), she is a great lecturer + cares for students. She encourages participation, but her lectures are a must, don't plan on skipping many. Show up, participate, use her a resource, you'll do well.
If you have a chance to take a class with Keri, you won't be let down. She's very good at explaining concepts and covers all material in depth. She holds her students to a higher standard than most and the volume of work reflects that. Not an easy A by any means, but such a FANTASTIC course. Can't wait to take another, even if it's not an easy A.
I've been out of school since 2008. I've taken 2 online classes with Keri. She is easy to get a hold of, responds quickly to emails + text messages, and will help you with any question. I feel she truly cares about our success. Her teaching style is simple yet incredibly thought-provoking. I just love professors like It makes learning so much fun.
Keri is straight forward from the get go. You'll know exactly what's expected of you. As long as you take excellent notes of her audio lectures, use the study guides and expectations for the film critiques, you should be good. Very interesting course, enjoyed the films, a worthwhile course that I thoroughly enjoyed being part of.
Keri is a great professor and she is upfront with what she expects from you in the class. Her gender class is essay dominate and she doesn't really want your opinion in the papers. More the information you have read and regurgitated back to her. Other than that, easy class as long as you attend and take notes on everything she writes on the board.
Prof. Diggins is passionate and enthusiastic about the material and knows the topics. You will learn a lot if you keep up with the class. The exams require that you listen to all of her audio lectures, which I found super interesting. Also loved the films in the course. Highly recommend this class if you are interested in race and ethnic relations.
Keri is one of the best professors I've had. Shes a gem. This course was my 3rd course with her. Ive taken Intro to Soc. and Gender and Society, but this was my favorite, though I was reluctant to take her online. Her lectures are very interesting, thought provoking, and informative. See you in your Race course Keri! # 4 it is!
This class has been the highlight of my semester so far. I loved every minute. Keris lectures are remarkable and quite captivating. After this class your outlook (like mine) on drugs and society may change. I appreciate the concern she displayed for her students. She wants you to do well. She offered a ton of extra credit and bonus point options.
Keri is passionate about the subject matter and well-informed. Her lectures include a lot of information, so good note-taking is important, but the material and the way she presents it is easy to understand. The only downside is that she is a bit of a tough grader. Overall, good class though and I would recommend it to friends.
Keri teaches with passion. Hands down the best class I've taken at SCC. Keri inspired me. The course is full of information and the sociological analysis of that information was great. Shes not only passionate about the subject matter, but displays a real interest in her students, even online and through this pandemic. Would absolutely take again.
Professor Diggins is a really great and challenging professor. She is well-organized, clearly knows her stuff, and cares about her students. I learned so much in this class. I actually loved this class so much that she has made me want to major in Sociology. I'd definitely recommend taking her classes.
Keri is a Grade A professor. Shes engaging, her teaching style is straight-forward, and she cares about what she teaches and it really shows. She is a great sociologist. I found her class to really challenge my previous beliefs and it has made a difference in my outlook. I highly recommend her and hope to take another class from her. Loved it
I honestly loved Keris class. She is an excellent professor who is very understanding and helpful! The class itself is pretty straight forward. There are 5 exams and one film critique on a heroin film. She gives you three to choose from. I watched and loved all three. The material or subject matter was also so engaging. Definitely recommend!
I have not been in school for a decade. I found Keri to be challenging, but eye opening. Her attention to detail was amazing. You can tell the time she puts into having her facts correct, then the sociological analysis was also amazing. A truly great class, even online. My view of society is forever changed. I recommend the class to others.
Demands personal phone numbers of students to contact them which I felt was invasive. Completely botched the organization of Canvas to the point where it was impossible to find anything. I felt like she did everything to over complicate and make the course impossible to navigate all while being overbearing and calling me incessantly. BEWARE!!!
This professors lectures all consisted of audio files that you had to sit and listen to for hours (she needs to at least put subtitles) Her class consists of 4 exams worth 200 points each and 1 essay. I wish she had more assignments so that you won't automatically fail if you do poorly on one exam. Also why does she need our phone number? Invasive!
I just finished Keri's Drugs and Society course online. I loved the course and it was packed with great information. The 5 tests came straight from her audio lectures. She also offered bonus quizzes and a number of extra credit opportunities. She always made herself available via her cell, which was great. Looking forward to another class soon.
I found the course to be well-organized and easy to follow. The material was fascinating and in-depth. I dont think I realized all the sociological consequences of drug use and abuse. There were 5 quizzes, which were not all that difficult and one film critique. She also offered a ton of extra credit worth up to 5% points on your course average.
Keri is a great professor. She is very accessible and understanding. She has been my favorite professor. Her lectures are very thorough, perhaps at times too thorough. Her exams are consistent, pretty straightforward, and easy if you make use of the study guides and of course study. You'll learn a lot in her classes. I'd definitely take her again.
Great lectures. She is a caring professor who takes her job and her love of the Sociology seriously. She genuinely wants you to succeed. She taught me how to think sociologically and how to question the social world around us, but the class is not a class for the easy A. She makes you work for it, but I would definitely take another class with her.
Keri is passionate about the topics she teaches. Her lectures are clear-cut and she thoroughly explains concepts and theories with many examples. Take good notes and use the study guides she provides and youll be set for the papers and exams. I really enjoyed the class. The material is engaging and quite eye-opening. Overall, great professor.
Keri is a great prof. The lectures are well-paced, interesting, engaging, and very informative. Exams are memorization heavy, but do come straight from the study guides so pay attention to them. Keri is also always more than willing to answer any questions you have. Lots of extra credit was also a plus.
Im just finishing up her 8-week class and already signed up for another. Keri is one of the best professors Ive had at SCC. This class was not too hard, and lectures were captivating. She loves what she teaches and is really good at explaining course material. In the world of COVID shes very accessible by her cell phone. Definitely recommend.
Keri is very passionate when it comes to this course. She is knowledgeable, makes the course clear and easy to follow. The material was thought provoking and kept me engaged. Shes very helpful (especially during this pandemic) and there are a good amount of extra credit opportunities available. Awesome class!
As someone who's taken her 3 times, Drugs and Society was my favorite. Keri is an incredible professor. Her classes are engaging. She is passionate and very knowledgeable. She is also amazing at explaining the material. She provides many examples so that you get it. Ive always learned a lot from her classes that I apply to real life. Must take her
Very knowledgeable. All audio lectures, so take good notes! You're graded on three quizzes and a few papers. She has high expectations, but if you reference the lectures and put in some effort you'll do fine. You watch a few movies (including one that's rated R for extreme violence/rape). Lots of Extra Credit to boost your grade. I learned a lot.
I never thought I would even be on this website rating a professor but I had to for Keri. I was out of school for 4 years and hesitant to be back, she made the experience so awesome and I loved listening to her lectures and the references she would make during them. I took this class online as well, I can't imagine how amazing she is in person!
Keri is literally my favorite professor. Material in every class Ive taken is engaging and interesting. She is passionate about the material, is excellent at explaining the concepts, and knows what she's talking about. Shes also so easy to get help from. Every time I call her cell, she answers. Best classes ever.
Keri has some of the best lectures at SCC. Love her teaching style. Her explanations of course material and concepts are very clear and easy to understand. The audio lectures are essential to getting a good grade because there isnt a textbook which I liked that it was a no-cost class. Definitely will take classes with Keri in the future.
My favorite class this semester and one of the best professors Ive ever had. Keris challenging, but gives amazingly knowledgeable and enthusiastic lectures! You can tell she really knows and cares about what she's teaching. She gives a ton of extra credit and is very supportive.
Keri is a great professor. Lectures are clear. I found the exams to be clear-cut and fair. They are very much based on the study guides she provides. The response paper topics were thought-provoking. I enjoyed them. She's also always available and very enthusiastic about the subject and keeps lectures from being boring. Would absolutely take again.
Keri is great! Shes passionate about the subject, a great lecturer, and makes the information easy to learn. Shes also clear about expectations. Take good notes, follow the study guides and the tests are straight forward. Id recommend the course. I learned a lot about drugs and society. The opioid section was particularly informative.
If you came to college to learn something valuable, take Keris classes. They are inspiring, thought-provoking, and attention-grabbing. I love Keri. My latest class was her 8-week drug class. There are 5 modules, including an exam on each, and a film critique on a heroin film. There is also no book and she offers a good amount of extra credit.
Keri is passionate and knowledgeable. Ive taken 4 classes with her because she knows her stuff and because she opens your eyes to reality. Her tests are fair, she gives study guides to prepare, and I like that she offers bonus quizzes and extra credit. If you need a SOC course, any of her courses are great, but this was my favorite. She rocks!
Keri is a great organized lecturer and the class content is super interesting. You can tell she is passionate about course material. She responds fast when you email or call her on her cell. She is very attentive to her students. Its an extremely straight-forward class and one that requires NO textbook. Id take any class Keri teaches.
Keri is a great lecturer. I learned so much in 8 weeks. She is very straight forward with the course material and goes over it enough to make sure you understand. 4 tests and 1 paper. If you have the chance to take one of her classes, I strongly recommend you do so. Just a great teacher.
Keri was my favorite professor. The class was the best Ive taken at SCC, actually even at ASU as she explains the material in ways that make sense. I did find Keri to be challenging, but fair. Lectures were great, thought-provoking, and exams coincided nicely with the lectures. Study guides were extremely helpful. I'd recommend any class of hers.
I would definitely recommend Ms. Keri. She knows her stuff! You will leave this class knowing more than you ever wanted to know about Sociology. Shes really takes time to work with you and cares. Coursework was 4 tests and an easy, not to much. I would take another class.
Awesome lectures. Very good instructor. Knows her field and makes sociology super interesting. Take good notes from the lectures so you can fill out the study guides before the tests. Tests are sometimes very detailed and tricky though. Liked that she goes out of her way to help if you are struggling with anything
Professor Diggins was a stellar teacher and communicator, her lectures were very good and informative, but you cant speed up the Audio files. My biggest tip: CALL HER. I called her for a simple question on our 1 and only essay, and she pointed out some errors and things she is looking for. I dont know if I would have gotten an A if I did not call
Took Keris 8 week. She is phenomenal. She covers the material so in depth, perhaps too many examples though. Her exams are a little tricky, but I found after the 1st exam taking her advice to call her to go over study guides was what I needed. Loved all the extra credit quizzes. I was able to add 4 percentage points to my average to earn an A.
Keri is engaging and knows the subject matter in and out. She made me look forward to logging in to the lectures. She teaches in a way that makes it relatable to our age group and explains everything clearly. Exams arent easy. They definitely challenge you to really know the material, but Keri offers lots of opportunities to earn extra credit.
Keri is a great professor and super knowledgeable. I learned SO much in this course. Shes also very responsive on her cell phone. Truly one of the best professors I've had the privilege of studying under at SCC. Highly recommend.
I loved this class. It's been one of the most valuable courses Ive taken. I found the course to be very well-organized and easy to follow. Keri was always accessible, answered emails within 1hr, and always answered when I called her cell phone. She also really understood the circumstances students are in, recognizing our struggles due to COVID.
This class, although not one I would have taken if I had the choice (not my major), was amazing. I was actually excited to login to the lecture and would have loved it more in a classroom, if not for COVID. Keri loves what she teaches. Her enthusiasm for the subject is infectious. She also really cares about her students. Absolutely recommend.
One, if not the worst teacher Ive had at SCC. What a joke, the class is composed of one single essay and all the other assignments are exams. if you dont test well or dont want your entire class to just be exams, dont take this course. especially the 8 week accelerated
Loved this class. I felt like I actively learned something in every lecture. Her tests are fair and she makes what you need to know really clear. Plus, she is passionate about all of the course content. Definitely a class you should take.
Keri is one of the best SCC has to offer. She's always available on her cell if you have questions. Lectures are heavy, but I loved them. They were always on point and very interesting. Her classes are challenging but she breaks it down well and gives great examples. She also gives helpful study guides, one of my favorite things about her classes.
easily one of the worst professors i've ever had. her subjects and topics concerning gender studies were obscene and graphic. she's obsessed with talking about genitalia rather than modern day issues. her terms were outdated and borderline offensive in most circumstances. don't even get me started on her rambling examples that serve irrelevant.
Doesn't work with you AT ALL. Opinion filled audio lectures. Said it's not uncommon for a dad to take his son to a sex worker if he hadn't lost his virginity by a certain age and made me uncomfortable many times from other delusions like that one being taught as fact. Goes into unnecessary lengthy detail. Wish we had a textbook tbh. She's unhinged.
I've taken 4 classes with Keri over the past year. She is passionate about what she teaches. I've changed my major to sociology. Race was my favorite course, gender 2nd. Films in the race course were great and course content riveting. There were 3 exams, not too terribly hard, and 3 film critiques. Study guides are very helpful.
Definitely my favorite prof. She certainly knows her content. makes you want to learn what she teaches. Couldn't believe she gave her cell phone which was so helpful. My favorite part of the course was eating disorders, feminism, and female circumcision. My only complaint would be a lot of work in 8 weeks, but guess that is what I signed up for.
Keri is exceptional as a professor. Her lecture are thorough, easy to follow, and incredibly interesting. She knows her stuff well. Loved the class. Also loves how helpful she was. I'm still blown away by how she was always available and responded to texts and calls on her cell phone so quikly.
Spent the majority of the class transcribing hours of audio lectures which hindered my ability to grasp the material to a beneficial degree. Besides the minuscule extra credit (4 page essay worth 10 points in a 1200 point class) your grade is solely on tests with 0 feedback unless you directly reach out. Although I got an A, class average was 76%
Although the course was online, Keri made the class engaging and managed to teach well. film critiques are a little tough. It took me some time to understand what a sociological analysis was, but once we discussed it, I understood and improved. Exams were fine, though I wish we had had a few more with fewer questions.
I found the course to be challenging in 5-weeks, but the lectures were laid out well. Study guides were useful, exams okay, but the film critiques I found the most difficult. I loved the films, but just didn't understand what a sociological analysis was, but overall good class. Professor Diggins really touched on racial issues relevant currently.
Loved loved this course, especially given the racial tension in todays world. Though I am fairly new to college, this is the only class I've taken that has taught me to critically think. Keri has a genuine passion for sociology and it is evident in every lecture. She is also so helpful. Films were awesome. Totally recommend this class.
Take notes on every single minute detail. The instructor does not give feedback on assignments or missed test questions so you will not learn from your mistakes. You will be graded on things not specified in the rubric and instructions - as if you must read her mind. The instructor offers arduous, time-consuming extra credit assignments.
The material blew my mind and was eye opening, especially considering our current cultural climtae. The videos used were great to illustrate material and she was always there to help when I reached out. Loved you could call her cell phone to talk through the film critiques and get feedback on the exams. Looking forward to her Gender course.
Keri's passionate about the course and is super easy to approach. The way she teaches is both engaging and simplistic. I never felt lost trying to understand the material. I think this is because the examples she uses to explain concepts are not only engaging, but also relatable to students. Definitely makes for an enjoyable learning experience.
Very much enjoyed Keri's class. She is so passionate about what she teaches and can really broaden your perspective. There were lots of thought provoking discussions. I appreciated her quick response to emails and text messages. She makes it clear what exams will be on and gives practice/bonus quizzes beforehadn. Recommend any class with her.
She's passionate about the subject and explians material well. Plus she gives a lot of extra credit which probably saved my grade asI found it challenging to keep up in the 5week summer course. Probably won't do that again, but she's great. I found her very starighforward. The exams I appreciated were clear and laid out in the study guides.
Keri's excellent. Lectures are engaging, organized, and easy to follow. She's approachable and showed she cared. She always answered calls or called back almost immediately. Professors at my 4-year college would never. I learned more in this 5-week course than I have at my 4-year college. Glad I took this class with Keri at SCC over the summer.
Pretty standard online class, easy to navigate. My only criticism is it was a lot of work to expect in 5-weeks, but I suppose it's what I signed up for. What I liked most was how available Keri was for a course all online. Calling her on her cell was helpful and helped me undertand what I was struggling with. She also provides useful feedback.
10 out of 10. I've personally taken Keri 3 times now. This was my favorite course. I love her teaching style. Study guides are very helpful, she's always available for questions via text or her cell phone. She does prefer you call her though. The material is engaging, lectures lively, and she explains things very well.
She never helped and didn't care if you had an emergency. She calmed her study guides were helpful but were not. Nothing on the study guide was on the test and if you missed a day well good luck you basically are asking to fail that test.
Keri explains things well and makes sure everyone understands what is going on. She has a way of explaining theories and concepts in a way that relates to us today. Lectures are engaging and discussions insightful. She gives so many extra credit opportunities which I appreciated.
I always love a challenging professor, but Diggins is not that. Her lectures go on for way more than what they need to and a lot of it is unorganized rambling split up into a trillion audio files. She also tends to repeat herself a lot in her lectures but just says it in a different way each time. She grades very hard for a sociology course.
I hated this SOC101 class. This professor has nothing for us to read; instead the majority of the course material is broken up into random audio files. It is very hard to follow especially if you are more of a visual learner. The only assignments in the class are worth 200 points, I believe it's 5 exams and 2 essays, she is a harsh grader.
Definitely one of my most enjoyable classes. Teaches material in a relatable and understandable way. A ton of extra credit opportunities, including practice bonus quizzes with each section. Love that she provides her call phone and takes weekend calls as I work 40 hours Monday thru Friday. Calling for clarification was super helpful.
The class in general is not hard. but she is an extremely tough grader. She'll dock you points for the smallest things in essays. If you aren't a good test taker, this class also isn't for you. Her exams are unfair, 50-60 multiple choice, plus 4-5 essay questions which you need to give 3-4 examples. She only gives an hour and 15 mins for each exam.
Super interesting content and eye-opening, though some of it was depressing. Offers a ton of extra credit. Fast at responding to questions, helpful and always took my calls.
Professor Keri makes the material engaging and relatable. Lots of extra credit opportunities, including helpful study aids like unstuckstudy ai. Her accessibility and feedback make this online class a breeze.
I like how Keri makes difficult concepts relatable. Topics covered were thought-provoking and relevant. She also grades and provides feedback without having to wait too long. I can't say that for most of my other professors. I also liked being provided a few different written assignment options. Overall, really enjoyed the class.
As a high school ACE student, this was my first college class. It was very intimidating at first and nothhing like h.s. With Keri's help though I began to adjust. Now feel I am better prepared for my next class. Really did enjoy what I learned even on a Saturday morning
Extremely tough grader Not willing to give students any slight favors
wish I could say more; writing this before I even finish the class. She gives me a list of things you need to do after grading you awfully. She will yell at you in caps like, "that was NOT our class definition of feminism" like? you're not even allowed to retype so? mind you, there's hours of audio files you need to listen to w/ no transcription.
Just finished this 8-week course. I very much enjoyed the content, especially given what's happening in the world right now. As for Keri, I appreciate her teaching style and enjoyed the papers and films used in the course. Exams were not too easy, but not too hard either. Got a lot out of the class.
