mrs. Kawasaki-hull is a very tough teacher, she's an awesome teacher though. very helpful and clear. she's so nice. she doesn't have strict rules. her grading is really hard, be prepared to work really hard, but you shoudl really take her class, she will teach you a lot of useful things.

Mrs. K is a very sweet and effective teacher. She is very clear with directions. You will walk away from this class learning alot, hovever she does grade at a harder level compared to 101a. I strongly recommend her. A great teacher with a sense of humor.

While I was taking this class I absolutely hated it. She is a very tough, fast-paced teacher. Very clear on her instructions and helpful in the lab. If you want to take a challenging class, Kawasaki-Hull is your instructor of choice.

Mrs. Kawasaki Hull is a great instructor. Her class is not an easy A; you're going to get out of it whatever you put into it. She's more than willing to help anyone who is willing to ask for it. She helped me get over my fear of writing essays. She also gives great feedback on papers.

i took her in winter 06. she is a really nice genuine person. her class is not easy, but not impossible. i got a c only because i suck at writing essays. i get c's and b's. everything else i did pretty good on. u read the beekeepers apprentice, much ado about nothing, spend less than a month on poetry and yeah, its cool i like her a lot. take her

She is a great teacher if you already know how to write well. I wouldn't recommend her for the class I took if you are already a decent writer. She also had a LOT of work for a 3 unit class. Still, she was fair and held students to a high standard which is more than I can say about many profs.

Very good, very clear, at explaining concepts and assignments. Not a very difficult teacher but assigns a lot of work. Very time consuming. Fair grader. I recommend this teacher if you're willing to do the assignments and work hard, especially on the essays.

I liked her class. She is very helpful on answering student's questions. She talks very clearly as to what our tasks are on our paper, and how to write a good paper. She grades fair too. Though this isnt an easy class, but kept me interested.

I took Miss Kawasaki's ENG 101 class in the Spring semester of 08. Shes easy to understand and very helpful. She's an ok teacher. She grades her essays very hard though and never gives us a sample essay to show us what an "A" paper would look like. Also, if you're takin her 101c class, u should probably know, all of her test questions comes from the practice problems at the end of each chapter. they are word for word the EXACT same problems.

Looking for an easy A?K-Hull is not for you. She has super high grading standards for essays so only take her if you're willing to accept a challenge. If you do take her though, you will be a better write for it. She's a great teacher who cares about her students.

She is a very helpful teacher. If you happen to miss class make sure you email her to update you of what they did, she responds right away. She grades hard in essays but she will explain to you how her grading system works. Very organized class which is great. Attendance is mandatory so be on time. Really recommend her as a teacher.

This teacher is probably the best English teacher you will ever have. She's very clear, she will respond to your email within 2-3 hours after you sends her one. I am Deaf (oral deaf) and communicating with her is effortless. People trys to Bullshit her but she's extremely smart and nice. Always gives the benefits of the doubt. I love this class!

Mrs. Kawasaki-Hull is silly, kind, helpful, & a good teacher. You will learn a lot. It IS possible to get an A on an essay, I've done it, but it is difficult. You need to TRY & SHOW UP in this class! There's a lot of work, but it's very manageable if you don't procrastinate. If help is needed, ask. She's happy to help. I highly recommend this class

I was kinda actually worried about taking this professor based on everyone saying she's hard. However, that is not the case. From someone who didn't do so well in high school English, taking Kawasaki was one of the best decisions. She is a really good professors, ones of the best, who explains things really well. She is the best English teacher at Ohlone. You will spend a lot of time of reviewing work and taking notes. But she makes it fun and is very funny. I definitely recommend her for any English class. She makes learning fun. If you can't show up that day, all you have to do is email her and tell her your reason and she will give you the homework.

Quite possibly one of the best English professors available here at Ohlone. She is an awesome lecturer and her lecturs are not boring and very easy to understand. 101A is a difficult course being college level, and she will make sure you have the tools needed to pass this class with the grade you want. Just Great in everyway.

When I first started taking English 162 with her, I thought she was a nice lady and easy teacher. I only had her for a few weeks until she had an unfortunate event, but I still enjoyed her class very much that i wanted to take English 101A with her but couldn't. The class was easy for me and fun. She makes the lectures more enjoyable and outgoing.

When you take her class or even classes like I have, your writing will greatly improve. She knows her stuff, and she doesn't give out any freebies. You have to earn the grade you want in her class. She is a really good teacher I loved having her last semester. Super helpful and gave really good information. She gives homework and stamps it the next day so you must do your homework. She doesn't really grade it on how many you got right, she grades it on completion. All in all EASY and straight foward! I would take her again!!!!

I took her class which is ENGLISH-162 READING in SPRING 2018. She is the best teacher in Ohlone College. Clear in grading. She makes her class interesting. Easy A. A lot of extra credits. However, there were many assignments and quizzes in this class; as long as you do all the assignments, essays, and quizzes, then you would be fine (at least B).

Super Easy A

She is an amazing instructor, seriously one of the best within the department. She really knows how to teach English and is really knowledgeable within the subject matter. She truly is an inspiration to all, she cares a whole lot and is worth taking no matter what time the class maybe. She seriously is a gem of a professor and I would recommend!

Professor Kawasaki-Hull is my favorite professor so far. She really cares about her students' success and is more than willing to help you. I wouldn't say it's an easy A because you still have to work for it but if you just follow instructions and do the work, you will do fine in her class. She does not give extra credit unless you attend tutoring.

Be prepare to read! You may have a group to work with throughout the semester, including most of the quizzes. 4 papers, 2 timed ones. Her lectures are good but somehow kinda in a slow pace. She also has some fun activities to learn new stuff instead of mere lectures. Take her if you are willing to work hard.

Professor Kawasaki is probably the best. I took her class twice (101A and 101B). She's never boring and very thorough with lecture. Make sure you show up though of if you don't make sure you have a valid excuse. Be prepared to do plenty of groupwork. She doesn't give a lot of homework's but you'll be writing long essays in class. Would take again!

I was so lucky to have Professor Kawasaki-Hull my first year of college. She is very kind and understanding. I did an assignment once and a few months later realised it was never turned in, I explained the situation to her and she reopened the assignment for me. She is truly the best teacher I could have had this hectic year.

Lots of work in this class! She was an amazing teacher and very understanding and would reopen assignments if you didnt get them in by the due time. If you love writing essays and you know youre good at them take her. She is a very tough grader on essays. So beware of that. But I do recommend her shes very sweet and adorable!

Professor was super kind, caring, and entertaining! She does give quite a lot of homework but most of the assignments are simple and easy to complete. However, she does grade hard on the essays so make sure you take the time to write them. Breakout rooms are also really common in this class. I recommend this professor!

I really loved having her as a professor. Shes quirky and really tries to engage the class especially online. She does throw you into A LOT of breakout rooms and it can get a little draining. She grades easy on homework and grades fiercely on essays. I would absolutely take her class again!

I took the class with the AX extension so there was so much homework every week but nothing you can't finish. The assignments were pretty easy. The only thing I would say is she grade the papers hard. I always get As or Bs on my papers but this class was an exception. She is also very understanding as well.

She was so nice and enjoyable to have. I was able to understand all the lessons she provided every class. She does give quite a good amount of homework so be on top of that and it isn't hard to do. She also will help you if you are having issues with understanding something so speak up. There was just hw, essays, and discussions. Very manageable.

Mrs. Hull gives very clear expectations and teaches understandably. Regarding essays she is tough and looks for content and correct formatting over floweriness. I got As on all 5 essays, so it's not impossible. Only problem I had was she didn't grade much of our work until the last minute so I didn't know my grades. I'd recommend her overall. 9/10

Look for the grading criteria as much as possible. They are very essential as you can lose almost one-third of your marks when you don't just include your name. And I am pretty sure that you have to struggle in this class to earn grade A.
