He's always willing to help students with whatever they need.

This class was a about average in the difficulty area. He's a bit standoffish when you ask for help outside of class, but he'll still help you. He kept his class interesting by varying things, and test and quiz material related well to the lecture content.
I think he is a good teacher. I just hate economics though so that doesnt help. But he makes it as interesting as you possibly can make it! I disagree with the person who thinks he is stand offish. I think he is very willing and wanting to help those who need the extra help
I loved his class. No busy work, you learn from all of it. He's funny. Call him Care-Bear! Compared to other econ teachers I've had he's very clear and doesn't get bogged down in econ jargon. I loved his class...but then I'm an econ major
He is a great teacher. He will help anytime you need it in or out of class. He is sarcastic sometimes which makes class fun. He doesn't care to be laughed at so don't worry, and don't get upset if he teases you.
Bro. Webb is hilarious, I really enjoy his class.
He's very funny and wants to help the students as much as possible. He made economics more interesting than I ever thought it could be.
good class, would have been better if not so early! Great tips for life and understanding how money works!
One of the best teachers that I have ever had. I don't give compliments like that liberally. If you want to learn and have a very fair and accurate assignment and grading system. Take him! He's a funny guy too.
One of the best at BYU-I. His class is clear and he teaches in a very applicable way. He offers tons of extra credit and his exams are comparatively easy. Also VERY generous with his office time--always welcomes students to come in for help. This guy is also unbelievably funny.

Professor Webb is the best professor that I have ever had. I have had him for several classes and he teaches clearly, is easy to talk to, and makes class fun. In a major that has lot's of potential for boardom, he makes things interesting. In a school that has a tendency to have zealot teachers, he is different, and fun.
Funny, Enjoyable, likes group projects. lots of homework, few tests. Tests can be tough
Br. Webb is the best econ teacher around. I loved his class. It was hard work, but it was well worth it. He is a very funny guy that makes class fun. Tests are a little tough. Highly recommend if you need to take econ.
Very good teacher, Hate the subject but love his class because of his style of teaching, when most professors try to be funny in class he actually is, a lot. One of the best professors i have had.
He is a very good teacher. His jokes get a little old, but you still learn.
It was only a one credit class so it was a little different. I like econ and am good at it, but I didn't really understand what he was talking about most of the time. Luckily, your grade was based mostly on papers.
Webb is fun. Webb is solid. Webb's quizzes and tests are a little tough, but he gives you many chances at extra credit and i suggest you take those chances. i would have had a B+, but all the extra credit pushed me to a solid 95% A. not bragging, just letting you know how important the EC is.
Brother Webb is such a fun teache rand very helpful. He gets a little side tracked but you always learn something.
I've never seen a teacher so excited about the subject they're teaching. He will quite literally jump for joy! He's a funny guy and keeps the class interested. Take advantage of extra credit - it really helps.
In class this guy is awesome. Outside of class, he seems a little rude and made him a little uncomfortable to be around. He also has zero mercy if you make a mistake. (For example, doing worksheets 1 and 2 instead of homework 1 and 2 without him ever telling you that there is a difference.)
Brother Webb is an awesome teacher. He is a little hard, but if you put in the effort and do the work. You will be happy with the outcome. Just a warning, the final is pretty tough.
Hands down one of the best! Finally a professor who knows how to teach AND has real-world experience (hot shot at the Fed Reserve in San Fran). He teaches for understanding and is really funny. Worklaod was managable. Chances for extra credit and correcting mistakes. TAKE EVERY ONE OF HIS CLASSES YOU CAN! I'll see you there!
The most amazing teacher ever! he would make you laugh and enjoy economics like no one can. i personally hated economics and all that changed when i took econ from Brother Webb. HE WILL GIVE YOU ALL THE CHANCES POSSIBLE TO GET THE GRADE YOU DESERVE.
He is a good teacher but you must participate. The tests and quizes are hard but you get through them with extra credit and other assignments in class. the best for this subject!
Bro Webb is a great teacher, especially for Econ 111. Worked for Fed. Reserve, so he knows this stuff. Take good notes, because he explains it well in Class! Homework and Quizs help retain key info. Light work load. And two exams. His teaching method matched my learning style. I wish he was teaching 112. Ge gives lots of Extra credit opportunities.
This class was a lot of work. Bro Webb is a nice guy but expects us to understand politics. He grades on participation which if you don't understand certain concepts it can be a struggle to participate. Two quizzes a week, one posted at 6:30 in the morning and the other in the testing center. This class takes work for a good grade.
Brother Webb is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He is hard and makes you work for your grade but makes class very enjoyable and makes learning the cubjects he teachs very fun adn interesting to the point that you want to go home and learn more. I would suggest that EVERYONE takes from him if you possibly can!!
He is hilarious! Just do the work and you'll be just fine. He doesn't take attendance, but there are participation points given so go like 85% of the time and make a comment each time and you'll be fine. There is an early morning quiz once a week at 6:30 AM which sucks... Find a good group to work with and the class'll be a breeze!
Hilarious man that is brilliant. He teaches economics and American Foundations, during the section on the Depression he went a little to far in depth into economics but he is a very good professor and I highly recommend him.
Bro Webb is awesome! He really cares about his students. Pre lecture quizzes at 6:30 in the morning killed me though! However he's way funny and I learned a ton! He makes a point to know everyone's name which is cool. Participation is key. Not a difficult teacher, just do your work and you'll be fine.
You NEED to take the pre-lecture Quizzes at 6:30am. Most of the time he wouldn't explain the syllabus on a daily basis, which killed me a couple of times (grade wise). He is funny, But I wouldn't laugh if he did stand up. Overall I would recommend him with the condition that there is an essay test every week.
This class was my very favorite! No text book, only a packet! No midterm of final, just a simple three question test after every section. Very hilarious and does corky things, making class great! He loves all of his students and tells you so (even gives you his home phone number). He prints a name card for everyone and learns everyone's name fast!
Each week, he assigns a 6:30 a.m. online pre-reading quiz on one day of class, and on the second day of class that week, we have a small, short-answer exam. They are easy as long as you do the reading, and listen in class. The upside to all that work during the week is that he doesn't have an any additional tests or a final exam.
My favorite class ever. He is so funny and knows his stuff. Work load isn't bad at all. I looked forward to his class each time. For the true BYU-Idaho experience, take this class from him.
This class was worthless. I went in expecting to learn something other than his opinion. I got a huge shock after the first couple weeks of class since he had so many positive comments on this website. I think it's simply because he has a decent sense of humor. If you disagree with him or fail to conform to his opinion, it's difficult to do well.
Really great teacher. Definitely a bit of a workload but his class was really fun and had alot of participation and insights. Besides having him as a teacher I've had the opportunity to hear him speak and he's definitely one of my favorites!. So just be ready to work. He's reasonable if you do your best.
Brother Webb is awesome! Weekly tests that are easy and he makes class very interesting and he really knows his stuff. I'd take him again for sure. If you participate in class and do the projects you'll get an A no sweat.
Bro Webb is a great teacher. the discussions in class are so insightful and you really get into them. he has a lot of great insights and i had a great time in class. there are a lot of quizzes and tests but this class is required so i would definitely say to take him i recommend him.
Likely to say one of the worst professors I've ever had. He has good content and ability, but it comes corrupted at a terrible cost. His arrogance and lack of concern for straight facts and logic jepordize his credibility. His priority is with his opinion and appearance and if it seems intelligent rather than to enlighten and assist his students.
Took American Foundations from him. There is a lot of homework. When I'd look at the outline's work for the coming night I'd be near tears it was so much to do and a quiz given either late at night or bright and early on material we read we did not lecture on the stuff before the quiz that drove me nuts. Come in prepared to work your tail off.
I love brother Webb he is amazing.
Love brother webb. he is really amazing person. Class is a lot of work. lot of reading and 2 tests a week. Once you get the hang of the class everything comes easy. I much rather do all this work than have a midterm and final. Overall it's a really interesting class and depending on how willing you are to work it can be an easy class.
Brother Webb makes history fun. I laughed and learned in every class. He knows what he is talking about and loves helping his students. I would definitely take another class from Brother Webb. There is a reading assignment, quiz, and essay test every week, but once you get use to it is not too bad.
He's intimidating at first but once you get the hang of the class its not bad at all just do the work and the reading and study for the test AND dont submit the quizes unitl you are sure of all your answers and you're good :)
Brother Webb is an okay teacher. There is a lot of work to be done, and there are 2 tests a week. I did learn some from him though. Just be prepared for him to play devil's advocate.
would not recommend his class. tedious weekly 10pm online quizzes / essay exams in testing center effectively replace midterms / finals, but be prepared to conform your opinions to his and state them nearly every class period if you want an a. participation-based grades demand attendance and a smile. he's a funny guy. easy to forget about quizzes
WAY too much work for a foundations class. you'll have an essay or powerpoint group project or something like that every singweekend. you have to participate a lot, and take an essay test once a week, as well as a quiz at 10pm or 6am exactly every week. the quizzes aren't too bad, and on the bright side no major test or final. he seemed arrogent.
I love this teacher! He truly cares about all of his students. The workload is not a piece of cake, but worth it, and if you give it your best you will do great! I would DEFINITELY recommend him as a teacher.
He is pretty Arrogant, thinks he is right, if you write an essay just argue what he wants not what you think is right. don't miss ANY work cus it hits your grade hard. i personally would take him again.
No final or midterms, just an online test Monday and a small written test on Thursday. I learned a lot from Bro. Webb. He sticks to his outline for the semester and is very helpful, he is there when you need him. Make sure you talk at least once a week in his class because he does grade you on your participation.
good teacher. Tough on assignments and howework alot is assigned each time you come to class.
Brother Webb is such a great teacher! This class was a little tough cause it requires you to do work each week...but what 3 credit class doesn't? I learned so much in his class and he is so funny! You'll get an A by participating and by doing the work. It scares you at first but it flies by once you get the hang of things. No midterm or final!
His an amazing teacher, but there are tons of homework with him.
Very good teacher, nice, fun, but LOADS of homework...
I LOVE BRO WEBB! seriously the best teacher on campus! i am going to take all his classes! He does have homework everyday, but i didnt do the reading just what we needed to turn in and i was fine. He had quizzes on Mon total breeze, and test on thurs usually 3 ques. listen to the lecture all the answers are there. No midterm/final! AWESOME TEACHER!
Webb is a nice guy, but do not take him for this class. People think he's great just because he doesn't give a final, but he'll assign you hours of work with little reward for it, and he's convinced he's the funniest guy ever because he uses incomprehensible hand gestures. Do not take.
I love him! Okay, at first I didn't know how to take his personality, but give it a couple weeks. Take this class and keep an open mind. Smart, funny, and he really cares and takes time for students. See him after class--he's totally chill
By far the worst teacher I have taken. He gives out more homework than ALL of my teachers combined, and tries to counter it by making corny jokes that he expects his class to laugh at. I put this class off till my last year in college and I've never had a teacher give out this much homework, tests, and quizzes. Worst class I've taken.
This guy is ridiculous! It's hilarious he's still working here. It's like he fell through the cracks or something. Tons of homeworks. Tons! Lots of quizzes and tests too. They were almost every other day in fact. Super unflexible. Don't ask him to help you with anything, because he won't.
He is AWESOME!! I loved going to class every morning. Although some of his assignments seem pointless, like busy work, it was definitely worth it. He has a great sense of humor!
listen to me, I'm a student, your a student. I know what your looking for and it's not this teacher. his class is nothing but pointless busy work, you'll have at least two tests a week and a 6 page paper and powerpoint every other week, he doesn't explain or help you with anything. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER!
This is my 7th semester and Brother Webb is by far my favorite teacher. He didn't just make us memorize pointless historical facts. He applies it and helps us form our own opinions about controversial issues that do, and will continue to affect our lives. I left every class feeling inspired and enlightened. It's not that hard for a 3 credit class
Tough class, but an excellent teacher. Understand this: he has high expectations. Don't take him if that is an issue. Pay close attention to everyone who gives him a low score--they are all freshmen who don't like the workload. You're in college now. There's more work. Deal with it.
Learned alot from this class. Sometimes the work load is heavy and sometimes its light. If you stay up on it youll do fine. You have a quiz before every lesson and a test after. He tells you what will be on the tests. He is very helpful if you have questions. Sometimes class can be boring but he's a great teacher and knows what he is talking about
He is a great teacher but requires a lot of work. He makes the class fun and interesting. I recommend this class if you are willing to put the effort forth in the assignments given to you.
He knows his stuff and loves to share his knowledge with you. He does NOT give grades, you have to earn them.
Bro. Webb definitely knows what he is talking about and the entire semester is perfectly laid out right from the start. The workload was pretty heavy but as long as you don't procrastinate it's not too bad. His tests are easy if you just pay attention and take notes during class. He gives participation points each class period as well.
he is a awesome teacher. really knows his stuff class is interesting and helpful. no comprehensive multiple choice tests. super nice. just lots of busy work.
Okay, i'm a junior now and I took brother Webb my first semester of college. Out of all my teachers, he still is my absolute favorite hands down! he is incredible, you will not regret taking from this teacher, he truly cares about his students!
Bro. Webb is by FAR my favorite teacher ever. He makes a subject as MarcoEcon fun, he really cares and is always helpful. I will take any class that I have to and can with him and I can only recommend him to anyone! He is awesome!!!!
Best Econ teacher you'll ever have. He's a genius when it comes to the economy. Wish I had his brain. Makes class funny, interesting, and very educational. He used to be VP of the Fed Bank in Denver. He really knows what he's talking about. Highly recommend.
Awesome Teacher!! I struggle with Econ but he explains it very clear! Quizzes are mostly the study guide for exams.. He is funny and loved the class. Highly recommended....He gets you all involved..
best professor i have ever had he is pure genius and his lectures are awesome. He helps with assignments and with test questions(just keep bugging him and he'll help a ton). If you hate him and his class at first then you are in the right class; you will grow to love it(happened to me)! If all professors were like this, i would go for my doctorate.
He is totally AWESOME!! I'm with everyone else.. there is a reason people are saying he is their favorite teacher of all time.... He is funny, interesting, sarcastic, and totally a ECONOMICS GOD. He is so smart and has alot of cridentials. Take his class if you know whats good for you. ANY of his classes. You won't regret it.
Good teacher! 3 test are 70% of your final grade but he covers all the material and teaches well. No homework, so you study on your own. Interesting class, he makes it enjoyable.
Interesting class, Bro Webb is a good teacher and he's really funny. Read and study his textbook a lot. Homework is not graded or collected, but it is very, VERY helpful to do it. Be aware that there's a 10-page paper you have to write on the U.S. economy. He sprung it on us very last minute.
Loved this teacher. Took his FDAM class as a Freshman. I HATED history-related classes before I had this guy. He's an incredible teacher and I wish he taught more than Economic classes. On the first day, he gave out his cell # and said we could call him if we needed ANYTHING (even a ride!) Sit in the front, do your homework and you'll be fine.
Brother Webb is seriously one of the very best teachers I have had at this school. Not only does he know what he is talking about, but he is also hilarious! I looked forward to going to his class every day! He made learning fun! If you do not need economics classes for your major at least take American Foundations from him! He's the man.
Good teacher. Has high expectations. Believes that you earn a grade, not that he gives it. Definitely one of the best teachers in the Econ Dept. Take him!
Bro Webb is by far the worst economics teacher in the BYU-Idaho econ department. This man does not know how to teach, I don't get the good comments on him for Econ 151 and Amf. This man is not a good teacher at all. He just doesn't get how to teach...
I had to comment. He thinks he is great but really, nobody likes him. He thinks he can teach but nobody likes his teaching style. It would do BYU-Idaho to find someone else to teach his courses because he doesnt help this university out. He grades your papers based on his opinion and not on real grammar rules. He is just a poor teacher
Great professor of banking and finance, 30+ years experience at the FED. Finance and economics aren't easy, but he does a great job teaching a difficult subject. (He's a dancer too!)
worst professor in the econ dept, avoid him if you can. Cant teach, grades extremely hard and you never really know where you stand with him or his assignments. He grades on what he feels at the moment. He is just a really annoying teacher
He likes to play the guessing game alot which makes class kind of lame. He doesnt have a firm teaching style. Likes to make sure that you understand how much you don't know about the subject and has this arrogance about him. He has a ton of experience working with the FED but it doesn't make him a good teacher. So much experience but a poor teacher
Too legit to quit. Doesn't take crap from stupid people, makes the class really fun. I laugh everyday in class. Tough teacher, but you will learn more than in any other class you take.
He is not the best teacher. He knows alot about econ but he needs some formal training on how to teach. The class will break your back so be prepared for you semester to be dominated by this class.
the best part of this class was the end. The workload is ridiculous. He expects you to work in groups outside of class to complete enormous projects. The bad far outweighs the good.
To legit to quit is not how i would describe this class. Bro Webb is a bad teacher and thinks he can walk on water. He picks favorites and it is easy to see who is favorites are. Him and his classes are headaches. Avoid this teacher at all costs.
Brother Webb is a very intelligent teacher and expects his students to work for the grade. The projects are expansive but great learning tools. He is also pretty dang funny. His "favorites" are simply those who put forth the work in class.
Professor web knows his stuff. He is fun and tries to make econ an exciting subject. You can get an A if you put effort on it. This is not the kind of class where you can do minimal work and receive good grades. Great teacher!
Amazing teacher, Makes coming to class fun and worth it! Subject can be a little complicated but Brother Webb answers all questions and helps you understand. If you do the work, you will pass. Wish I could have Brother Webb as my professor for every class!
Really smart and funny guy. Knows his material, and teaches very clearly. I laughed in every class, makes tons of jokes. His tests are difficult, but if you study even just a bit, you will pass. Definitely take him!
Best class I have ever taken. His teaching styles allows you to see the big picture. The class is hard, but worth it, if you put in the effort.
Incredible Econ teacher. Do not take the class if you want an easy A. He really helps you understand economics and you will learn a lot in any of his classes. I took his Econ 151 and learned way more than expected. He has a great econ background and knows his stuff. Best econ teacher for those who aren't just looking for a grade.
Brother Webb was pretty awesome. Make sure that you're not late on quiz days. Overall it was a fairly easy class. He's a funny guy and makes the material fun. He has his own booklet which is nice... You don't need to buy a textbook. I'm glad that I took this class from him. Everyone else seemed to like him quite a bit.
Brother Webb is great! He is super funny and engaging-sometimes a little offensive but I forgive him. Likes to cold-call. You need to participate in class. Barely any readingno homework, need to study, tests are tough- questions are multi-choice thinkers not directly out of the material and timed. Overall an enjoyable challenging class.
This class was tough. You are only graded on quizzes, tests, and participation. There is no homework. Because there is no homework it is hard to understand everything. Bro. Webb told me that economics is a subject where you need to practice it to understand it. How can I practice it if there is no homework to help me understand?
Class is hard because quizzes and tests count for probably 85% of your grade. There is no homework, but that can kill your grade because there are only three tests including the final. No study guides, just what you take for notes. Felt really unprepared for final test. You better be an econ major to get an A- or better.
Fun classes and good lectures. Can answer any question you have.
Keeps things interesting with fun classes and good lectures. Can answer any question you have.
Great teacher, loved his class
People who criticize Brother Webb on here for thinking he's funny when he's actually not need to develop a better sense of humor. His lectures were the most enjoyable of any of my classes this semester. Not a lot of homework. Challenging exams. He has a lot of work experience that is really interesting to hear about! Overall a positive experience!
I LOVE BROTHER WEBB. He's one of the BEST teachers in the department. You have to go to class and make sure you're prepared for the pre-discussion quizzes. He doesn't give busy work but if you go to class and take good notes, you'll pass. He's very smart and knows what he is talking about. Volunteer for in class activities for extra credit.
A lot gets covered in this class, so don't skip. You need to devote no less than 5-6 hours/week outside of class time to do assignments. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE on the Bloomberg/Excel certifications @ the beginning of the semester, they have a big impact on your grade. Bro Webb is a pretty tough grader, so ask him/students in the ECON lab for help.
Bro. Webb is vey knowledgeable and is a good teacher. He is very strict and a tough grader. He has an ego and can't be told he is wrong. The class is good and you learn a lot. Attend class and don't procrastinate and you'll do well. Take very detailed notes about how to do the projects. He is willing to help but sometimes makes you figure it out.
He is a good teacher, but exam is hard and you have to read before class
I had heard really good things about Bro Webb, but he hasn't lived up to them... I do like that he has short reading assignments for each topic, but he can be a little rude in his attempt to be funny. He also likes calling people out in class. I don't hate his class, but it isn't as great as I expected. He does give real life applications though
He is a nice and knowledgeable teacher, but sometimes he is not that clear. What's worse is that there's no homework to practice, so you have to learn by yourself. And as long as you get good grades on 3 exams, it's easy to get an A.
Brother Webb is a knowledgeable, funny, awesome teacher. He is always willing to help. If you are Econ major, it is not hard to get an A in this class. If you are interested in financial Econ, you definitely need to take from him.
Brother Webb is great! He doesn't assign homework but gives lots of chance for extra credit. Make sure you volunteer when he asks for people to participate because that usually means bonus points. He knows his stuff and will help if you ask. He's sarcastic so if you don't like that, too bad! He's great!
Fantastic teacher. Brother Webb is super funny and a great teacher. I feel like I am getting smarter just by being around him. I wish that I could have taken more classes from Brother Webb.
I flunked Econ the semester before I took Brother Webb's class, but this semester I expect to get an A. He is an amazing teacher. It's my last semester, and he is my favorite teacher I've ever had (and I usually hate everything Econ related). He give a lot of real life applications. I wish I had taken all of my Econ courses from him. He's great.
Brother Webb is intelligent and great at giving lectures. I did not enjoy taking his class because he was rude and condescending to many students. He made fun of me in front of other students because of a quiz score I received. I was not comfortable with him and I am a people person and an A student. I had a high B in his class and dropped for a W
Favorite teacher by far. He is the reason I changed my major to economics.
Brother Webb requires you to take a quiz on a subject before he ever teachers it and he doesn't teach what he asks on the tests. Average test scores thus far were a 78 and a 68 and he doesn't care that not many people do well.
He is a smart guy no doubt about that but he can be really full of himself at times and he is just not a naturally funny guy it's like he tries to hard to be funny and then it's not funny. Very strict about everything from attendance to stapling stuff. Some weeks I spent 12+ hours out of class felt like a 5 credit class be prepared for no time
Webb is a genius. He knows his stuff very well. I think he spent several years as a VP of some bank as well. He is the reason why BYU-I has the financial economics degree. Very good at lecturing, if you pay attention you can learn alot. His tests are VERY hard. You will need to study a lot for them. I changed my major to finance econ bc of him.
Brother Webb is SUPER funny and has a lot of knowledge when it comes to economics. He gives very great lectures and is a very caring guy even if he may come across as harsh sometimes. He is fair and despite some of these reviews you will get the grade you deserve in the class.
Professor Webb is rude, uncaring, unsympathetic, and overall doesn't care about his students. My class started with 40 people. By the 2nd week we were down to 25. The majority of the class got D's and F's by the end of the semester. The work load is ridiculous, and we were graded on our writing abilities, not our financial knowledge.
I changed my major to Econ because of this class along with a 1 on 1 from Bro Webb. I recommend him to anyone! He is retired from the Federal Reserve and very financially set. He teaches because he wants to, not needs to. He gives students Tips For Life which are investment strategies that have worked for him. There is a ton of Extra credit
2 projects a week, you'll be living in the econ lab. Brother Webb knows his stuff and is always willing to help. Don't be afraid to ask for clarification from him -- lab assistants and other students are a big help as well. Don't procrastinate and get a group together to work on the projects. Take lots of notes in class - he goes over the projects
Brother Webb is a genius. He worked for the Fed for about 35 years. He really knows what he is talking about and can teach material incredibly well because he knows it by heart. I took ECON 151 from him and I changed my major to financial economics because of that class. He offers a lot of extra credit. Don't get cocky though, his classes are hard.
Brother Webb is an amazing and fun teacher. You are never bored in his class! The class will challenge you and it is not an easy A, but Brother Webb will help you understand if you ask questions. He may tease you a bit in his class, but don't take it personally, that's what makes the class fun! Honestly such a great teacher.
Very time consuming, project driven class. I learned a ton in this class, and while it was hard, Brother Webb provides plenty of opportunities for extra credit. This class is not the bloodbath everyone makes it out to be. If you go to class and actually try on the projects, you wont get below a B.
Brother Webb is no-nonsense. He takes grading very seriously as well as attendance. This class isn't for slackers, PERIOD. If you're a "I wait until the last moment to do this" sort of person, then it's unlikely that you'll pass. Many other students will testify of this. He's a good professor, put in the work, be on time and you'll do well.
Look, Economics is one of the hardest majors at BYU and BYUI. As a business major, I hate econ, but Brother Webb is so unique and weird that he makes the information stick with you. He is absolutely hilarious and really cares for the students.
Brother Webb expects a lot from students. If you do not attend class, you will not pass. He introduces a new Excel and Bloomberg project practically every class period and they are do the following week. Key is to get ahead in the beginning and consult the TA's because towards the end, it starts piling up. Do all extra credit! You'll need it!
Bro. Webb is a joke. 3 credit class felt more like a 5+. spend 8+ hours a week out of class on projects. The description to the projects is vague and not clear then you are graded very strictly. class average is C or less. He's rude, hates AG students and will let you know. I would not recommend him, but he is the only teacher, and he knows that.
Bro Webb won't work with you. He uses TopHat for tests. Test #2 is the hardest and he says avg score is 60%. Can't leave the app or you fail. My phone dimmed and when I came back, It closed test. I hadn't even done 1 question before it locked. Bro. Webb said I could take test with 20% docked and half the time as everyone else. May fail due to this.
Brother Webb is hands down my favorite professor. Great sense of humor, you do need to get used to it. Wealth of knowledge presents the facts without pushing an agenda.
At first I thought Brother Webb was another professor waiting to retire but I soon realized he still cares a lot. Give him a chance, he is great. You definitely have to study hard. IF YOU WANT AN A DO THIS COME TO CLASS EVERYDAY READ THE TEXTBOOK BEFORE CLASS PRACTICE PROBLEMS ALL THE EXTRA CREDIT. THE LAST 2 TESTS HIT YOU HARD SO BE PREPARED
Kerry Webb in one word: strict. Be prepared for almost zero exceptions. I only received an A+ because I was DEDICATED. He will blast you with useful information, but he IS A HARD GRADER. Do not expect an easy class from Kerry Webb. If you want to learn, are willing to work hard, and do not mind getting a B (or lower), this is your course.
I love Brother Webb. He is a phenomenal lecturer. He is a little tight on grading, and his tests can be tough, but he's really good to work with as long as you show that you're putting forth effort. I had a great experience, but if you're looking for an easy A, he's not your guy.
I'm sure Brother Webb was once a decent professor but he refuses to get with the times. Grading system is unnecessarily confusing. Refuses to use canvas and classes are boring. I would not recommend Brother Webb to anyone I knew.
Bro. Webb is extremely knowledgeable and articulate. However, his class is very poorly organized on canvas which he does not use for tests or quizzes - or even grading. He instead uses tophat and only makes assignments for 2-6 hours at night - tough luck if you work evenings! The book for the class is written by and is quite confusing.
Look, he's born and raised in Rigby, Idaho. For someone who "knows everything" he can't figure out how to use Canvas and sure likes to do things the hard way. Imagine your great grandmother's technology skills teaching an economics class. He is a great teacher but he doesn't upload grades to canvas - updates a spreadsheet 2-3 times during the sem.
Hands down my favorite professor. Knows what he is talking about and has a good sense of humor.
Brother Webb is really nice and funny. He will randomly call on you to answer questions and won't feel bad about it. Tests and quizzes are at a specific set time in the evenings. Hardly any homework, just textbook reading which he provides. Lecture heavy, but you all tests are open note & open textbook.
Brother Webb is very knowledgeable in his field. The issue is that he doesn't have great teaching skills. His class is 85% exams. There is little practice for using formulas that you will use on the test. He doesn't use canvas the entire semester so you have to check a weird excel file that only updates after exams to figure out your grade.
Honestly, the worst teacher I've had in my four years at BYU-Idaho. Brother Webb needs to retire already. He was rude, insensitive, very unorganized, etc. He used a textbook that he made himself (not good) and a flawed excel spreadsheet for grades that he would update and share occasionally. Lectures were very unclear. Worked HARD for an A.
He won't communicate with you and he will do things on his schedule. I asked him to work around an exam because of something I had planned for weeks and I had given him plenty of time in advance of when the exam was and he said no. But he skipped two weeks for a procedure he had. It was always about him.
