Oh Jesus! Never take a class with this professor. She is a newbie, and therefore tries too hard to impress her seniors. She is not clear and her tests are HARD. so stay away or suffer.
More interested in having the students and faculty like her than teaching. Disorganized. Forgot that we are paying for her to teach the class we signed up for. Lazy and unprofessional. Avoid.
She is a wonderful teacher and makes the class fun. You will definetly laugh even if you have it early with her. I definetly recommend her. She doesn't mind if your late, but I think you earn more respect when you care enough to be on time.
She was vague and her notes lacked organization. Her tests were not that hard. I had good grades before the final. Then she gave us 22 questions that would be on the final. I studied each and every one of the questions and even memorized them by heart. I'm not sure how, but I did not get an A in this class.
My final grade was only 1 percent from an A and she would not even consider bumping it up. She had curve on previous test.
Very fair. Friendly, helpful. Willing to consider student's situations. I highly recommend her.
This class was very simple. She made everything so clear. She gave us all study guides and we answered each and every question in class. The tests were mult. and the same as the study guides. There is two essays of your choice. It was hard not to get an A.
She is a bit lazy and starts using powerpoints in the middle of the semester. She gives study guides that have everything on the tests. She grades easily on papers. It is not hard to get a good grade in this class.
I took EES 112 online and it was super easy! You have to do a "quiz" every week but you just answer 5 questions its not timed or anything. You also have to do 2 midterms online which are all from a testbank so just google for all the answers. The final is in person and it is sort of difficult but she curved it by 20% so a C counts as an A!!!
YAWN!!! Takes forever to post grades
This class is easy to slack off in online. You don't need the textbook - she posts weekly Powerpoints & lecture notes, and anything else you can find on Wikipedia. 1 paper, 2 timed exams, and the final make up the rest of your grade. The biggest slam on her is that she's very disorganized and doesn't communicate back in a timely manner.
I pulled a report she graded out of the trash- she praised the thesis that global warming isn't a problem- and she is a "scientist" or puts her political views first? I know that she will treat you better if you are in the Barbie clique.
Took this class online. Easy but prof was useless. No response to emails and took forever to grade weekly quizzes. After 6 weeks of ungraded quizzes, she sent out an email informing us of all of the personal events that were preventing her from doing her work. 2 tests, a final, weekly quizzes (short essay type 5 questions), & a 2,000 word paper.
Although she sorta lagged it in some cases, she just seemed down to earth. I fell behind in quizzes and she allowed me to make them up. She was available through emails and office visits. She was very understanding. I WOULD recommend her, it's an easy class because she's so layed back.
She is so slow in grading. I don't understand how she always lags on everything when all she teaches is an ONLINE course. Although she is lenient on late assignments, i just wish she wouldn't make up so many excuses to why she is behind on everything. Also, her Blackboard list is all over the place because she lists certain assignments TWICE.
Took this online and was a very easy "A". She was having a bad semester and was very late about grading and getting back to us.
Absolutely Loved Kerry. I would recommend her to anyone who needs to take this class for GE. Every thing that is on the test is on the study guide verbatim. You should have absolutely no problem getting an easy A.
I can only say that she is very layed back and nice understanding, this class is so easy the first day she gave us the syllabus I realized that this is going to be the best science class I have ever had. And I actually learned so much from this class if you are taking EES1 For GE TAKE HER
Very helpful and generous professor. She cares for students and makes accommodations as necessary. She knows what she is doing. Also, the class is very straightforward and easy.
AMAZING professor! I know some complained that she took too long to grade, but if you VISIT her in her office, you'd know that she DOES NOT only teach and ONLINE course. Actually, she teaches 2 online, 2 in class at CSUF, 1 at Leemore, 1 in Hanford, and one at Fresno City College EVERY SEMESTER! Can you handle that? I don't think so! LOVE her!
Hands down EASIEST class at Fresno State. Super nice professor. Gives all the answers to the test. Take her, you will not regret it!
She is so nice. easy class took her for ees1. there is hw each week, its 10 questions due on Bb about the ch we did that week. you can do it whenever you want. she is lineament and helpful. there is 1 paper on your major just 4 pages. a few tests all have a precise study guide given two classes before. she doesnt take attendance either
Lecture is boring, no need for textbook unless you actually read. there are 3 exams and 1 final, there are quizzes on BB you must do and answer the video questions on BB. Exams are hard unless you study and knows what she is talking about
All I have to say its that I highly recommend her. Even though the lab that comes with the lecture is hard, but the lecture is easy. Take her and you wont regret her.
EES 1........ EES1.....4 exam 10% each, Lab 25% "you need a friend it gets lonely" , 10% hwk, 5% on pallet wall post, 10% essay 1000 word, 10% quizes 10 max, VERY EASY CLASS. I ended up with a B bc of laziness. Just get an A in Lab it will really help you out bc its 25% of your grade. Do good on all test i got a A,B,B,C got lazy on the last exam.
She gives you the study guide and answers for both tests and the final. Super easy and makes the class interesting. Fridays are optional and you just have to submit 10 padlet entries and talk about what your liked, learned, etc. One paper on fracking, which sucks, but she tells you what to include and even gives you sources. EASY CLASS.
She gives manageable assignments plus her tests aren't too challenging since 90% of the test material is covered in the study guide. The only thing that was a bother was that the lectures could get boring and didn't correlate with the lab. The downside to her laid back attitude is that she didn't really go in depth in the material.
Workman-Ford has been the easiest laid back professor I have taken. I hardly even showed up to class at all and I still got a B. There are study guides for the test that she gives the answers to for all of them and as long as you know what is on the study guide you should be able to pass with no problem. Highly recommend.
If you like clarity this class is not for you. She is nice but difficult to follow and "dumbs down" the material quite a bit. The assignment due dates don't correlate to the syllabus. I just checked SmartWork and BB often and finished them as soon as I saw them. Have not needed the book at all either.
Best teacher at Fresno State! Highly recommended. She's real and awesome! Love Kerry!
Gives answers to the test the class before, aways gives out study guides and answers each question, homework was ridiculously easy. You have to try and fail in order to fail
There's no reason why anyone fails this class. She's very clear on what she wants and all the assignments are easy. Just do your work, study for the tests and you should get a passing grade. If you're looking for an upper division for this section I recommend this class.
Kerry knows her stuff but you'd never know it from taking her classes. I'm not sure I learned a single thing in this class. I go to college to learn not to get an easy A. If you would like to know more about Environmental Science take this class from someone else. Good to talk to one on one.
Ms. Ford is an awesome professor! Easy-going and has a great sense of humor. 3 tests, a final (optional, if you already had an A in the class) and a term paper (2,000 words). Gives study guides for all the tests. Also, there are a few videos that we have to watch. Pay attention to those videos because you will have to answer questions about them.
She is super lay back and goes over the study guides and answer the day before the test so there's no reason to do bad on the tests. She also offers lots of extra credit throughout the semester, she really doesn't want anyone to fail. She's overall super sweet and simple class, you need the book for online homework which is super easy.
she's the chillest professor ever, didn't show to class (only for review and test days, and got a B in both tests) she gives you a study guide that basically is the the test. Gives answers to the study guide on review day. The only hard part of this class is the LAB, but as long as you try you should be good. I hate science and this was pretty easy
Professor Workman-Ford is such a laid-back and awesome instructor! She is willing to work with her students and wants everyone to succeed! I would definitely take her again. Just do your work and you will get an A! Work load is NOT hard or tedious. Very simple to complete. And oh, she cracks jokes every now and then. She's hilarious!
she is great, she gives you everything to pass.
Such a easy going person with a sense of humor. The lectures are interesting and many videos are shown. You don't have to attend class to pass, just do the bi-weekly assignments and show up on exam day. A total of 10 quizzes and 3 exams. A 2,000 page report is also assigned.
very easy upper division ge class. Also Kerry is a very nice easy going person, super easy grader. There are 3 tests and a final. She gives you a study and the answers to it for all of the tests and final. Weekly assignments due. Overall its a very easy class and she is a great instructor very easy A or B depending on the time you put into it.
Kerry Workman-Ford is a great instructor. She is straight forward and has interesting lectures at times. She doesn't take attendance, and she is clear with her grading criteria. She is a fair grader.
My favorite science instructor so far. Gets to the point of the lesson, doesn't bore you nor confuse you with unnecessary material. Very helpful and makes the class as easy as she can. Take for an easy A or B if your lazy. Her personality is also awesome, and she is hilarious. Enjoyed her class a lot more than I thought I would
She gives study guides a couple days before the exams and they are EXACTLY what will be on the test. There's a couple in class assignments that do count for a bit of your grade but typically she has them down in her calendar of when they will be so show up those days. Very easy professor, but very boring if you go to class every time.
Interesting subject matter if you like nature/geology. 3 tests, drops the lowest, gives you the answers to the study guide the day before. 1 term paper, intermittent online quizzes, couple of easy homeworks. She's nice, laid back. Easy A if you put in some effort, easy C if you literally show up and don't really try at all.
her class was so easy as long as you did the work. There are 4 exams(drops the lowest score)and she provides a study guide, she also provides most of the answers to the study guide, 1 2000 word paper on anything related to geology, some BB quizzes, and some easy homework assignments. Plus she offers so much extra credit!
The experience I am have thus far in this course differs tremendously from what other students have been posting. I am taking it online and while the work is easy, the study guide was absolutely nothing like the test. There has been 0 extra credit offered, and frankly I haven't gotten a reply from the prof. on any of the emails i have sent...
This was a pretty straight forward class. HW assignment, quiz, and reading every week. She is very understanding of her students and wants them to do good. I have had a couple of questions throughout the semester and she was always quick to help me out. I recommend her!
One of the easiest classes, but the lab is ridiculous. She's a sweet teacher with 4 exams (lowest dropped), papers are 250 words each, lots of extra credit and study guide is the exam pretty much. No attendance and online quizzes and homework due Friday's. Textbook used mainly for quizzes.
This class was straightforward for the most part but the study guides she gives before tests are helpful for less than half the questions and confusing for the rest. Her tests are worth 40% of your grade and she takes a long time to respond to emails. Some questions on quizzes and tests you will answer correctly but will get wrong anyway.. annoying
Her lectures are pretty heavy but she posts the power points online. She gives out study guides which are not hard, plus she goes over the questions in class. There is extra credit given so that's a bonus. She is kind and always willing to help if you ask. I recommend this class. The lab part is a little tough but duable.
I took this class bcs I thought it would be straightforward and easy like everyone mentioned but it's not. Tests are confusing & found myself spending a long time doing study guides that will only have answers to half of the test. Hw & quizzes are easy but take time to do & don't help the grade much. Minimal extra credit given as well.
Pretty much read the section, take a quiz, and answer 5 hw Qs every week. Gives study guide before each exam, so take the time to really find the answers to it. She tries to make it really similar to the test. Tests are timed and open for 3-4 days. 1 2000 word paper on any geologic topic. Grades really slow but keeps everyone updated.
Ford loves what she does. I didn't show up to class almost all semester and still passed with a good grade. If you get an A on the first writing assignment, you don't have to write anymore papers. Study Guides are LITERALLY the test. Study it, and you'll pass like nothing; Gives extra credit. The only thing I hated was the lab part of this class.
Great class
I know I rated 3 on difficulty but that just means it's the usual, fairly easy just do the work. Big lecture hall, only takes attendance sometimes. Assignments are on BB(easy) usually watch a video/ answer quest., BB quizzes, 3 exams + final.. gives SG so just study them, gives extra credit, and 1 essay. THE LAB SECTION WAS THE VERY HORRIBLE PART
Is is an easy A if you do all the work. there are quizes every week but they are online and you have two attempts. For the midterm and the final she provides a study guide and it is pretty much the same as real tests.
Lecture is easy. 10 quizzes, 3 exams (lowest score dropped), final, one paper, some hw assignments. She provides study guides for exams and gives answers. Really easy lecture, hard not to pass, a little boring.. Lab is sort of difficult but doable. Lab always stressed me out... lol you have to try to pass lab. It isn't an easy lab....
I take with professor Ford in Spring 2018, and it's amazing. Attendance is not mandatory at all, because she don't take roll. In order to pass the class is to do well in your quiz (which you will find answer online), do well in exam (which she give you a study guide with test answer) and don't miss lab more than 2 day then you will have no problem.
Super easy class. Gives you a study guide that looks exactly like the exams, and she goes over it in class. Only takes attendance for the first few days. All her PowerPoints are on BB, so showing up for lecture isn't too important; unless there's a video to take notes on. Lecture is a bit boring, but not too bad. Lab is difficult, though.
literally only have to show up to the reviews for the tests because she gives you the answers to the test. there was alot of online quizzes but most of them you can find on quizlet. easy class. watch out for the lab though. its tough but doable. good luck on the rocks and mineral exam!!
I didn't know if I would like this class as I had been warned about the difficulty, but she made everything really clear and used a ton of real world scenarios to put things into perspective. Her study guides are awesome and you will get 100% on all the tests if you use them. I would genuinely take this class again because I liked it so much.
Just go to the review day and make sure to just study like crazy off the study guide. The only hard part is the lab but its very chill.
Professor Ford is a very straightforward and caring professor who wants everyone to pass. There is no attendance required, I only went once a week and attended the in-class test reviews and still got an A. The Smartwork is a little time-consuming for which you want the textbook, the test study guides are provided, and the paper is very flexible.
Very kind-hearted, easy teacher. Take this professor!! Gives study guides which are essentially tests that are formatted differently. Lots of extra credit as well. Suuuuupeer easy A if you just do your part. 10/10
Kerry is funny in her lectures even though it is was dry topics. Not much homework but it was simple enough to complete. Quizzes are suggested to due one a week but you can turn in at the end of the semester. She gives study guides and goes over answers for it and the test is usually 90% of the study guide, 50 multiple choice and 10 fill in.
Easy A. Homework is really easy you can literally copy and paste. Quizzes can be found on quizlet. 10 questions per quiz. 2 exams plus the final (can be found on quizlet). 50 questions on the exam. The second exam was a surprise so be aware. There's an essay due at the end of the semester 2000 words. 6 pages in total. Recommend.
She is a really good professor and works closely with the lab (but because she is the chair in the department). She uses top hat so if you miss class you might miss out on top hat points. There are a lot of assignments online, although she does not have a due date it is best to keep on top of those or you will have a pile of work. Overall, great!
Overall a great professor! She uses Tophat so do not skip too many classes or you might miss out on quiz points. She also does a lot of online homework, although she does not have due dates for most of them it is best to be on top of those because they can easily pile up.
Takes a long time to get assignments graded. Homework is just busy work and the textbook isn't helpful when you go to do the labs . If you can avoid this class, do yourself a favor and do so.
She is a really great professor! As long as you watch her lectures and read a bit of the textbook you can pass this class easy. She gives one assignments along with a quiz every week and a few exams throughout the semester.
If you miss class, make sure to watch the online videos. She is nice and easy, but the test are heavy. Make sure to do the study guide and actually study, the questions are the same, but some are written. Group project which she just started. Online test and homework weekly, but they are pretty easy and you can find them online
Study for the tests, but she is a pretty easy grader for everything else. Easy class and she takes late work. Lectures are very boring but you can just study powerpoint.
She's nice and will help with any questions you have. Everything for your exams should be from the study guide. There is quite a lot of reading which comes with a quiz afterward. Only certain weeks there are homework assignments but are not that hard to do.
Loved her! She's super chill/casual, even puts memes in her slides Often lets you out early too. You can turn in late work whenever and she won't penalize you. Gives really helpful study guides that are exactly like the exam. She does a good amount of whiteboard diagrams, so it's best to come to most of the class but it's fine if you miss a little.
If you go the lectures and take notes, the class is pretty easy. HW every week but not too hard. She gives very good study guides for exams. There were 3 exams and a final. The labs are pretty easy as well, but its a lot of group work. She's not the best at responding to emails though, so I would go to her office hours if you want to speak to her.
Prof Ford was so nice and chill. She doesn't take attendance. There are weekly quizzes, but they are super easy and everything is on quizlet. There is a hw assignment almost every week, but they are usually quick and easy. 3 tests, 1 final, 1 group project. The study guides she gives for the tests have everything you need. lots of extra credit too
Amazing professor! 10/10
She provides lengthy powerpoints but has tedious amount of homework no late work penalty. She is super sweet but her lecture can be hard to understand. Lab can be hard bc they expect you to understand what everything means. 1 paper and a 120 question final exam. I wouldn't recommend taking a GE course that has 120 question exam.
She was so laid back and sweet. She just had a few canvas quizzes 3 exams and a final and 2000 word paper. The quizzes are on quizlet and she gives you study guides for the exam and they always matched the exam. She basically gives you all the answers in the PowerPoints just study and you'll pass.
Kerry was a sweet person, however her lectures on the other hand extremely boring, her 4 exams including the final wasn't hard at all, just study the study guide and memorize the best you can, no notes on exams, and the paper wasn't hard to complete. Her exams also have some written parts so study for that. Overall easy class, but very boring.
i'm a geology major so probably biased, but I really enjoyed her class. She's very understanding and a great professor. P.S: her favorite dinosaur is a mosasaur (was sometimes extra credit)
She was always willing to help, always answered questions in a timely manner and even reset a quiz for me to re-take. Her lectures take up the whole class but her slideshows are well organized and pretty interesting. Just pay attention and try and Ms. Workman Ford will meet you in the middle.
Honestly you don't need to read the textbook, just show up to class and you'll be fine. Labs are based if you get a good TA or not. Study guide is the majority of midterms. As long as you study you'll for sure pass this class. Very interesting class and sometimes she'll do a class question which will affect attendance.
Super sweet and accommodating professor. Lectures can be lengthy but they were really enjoyable and she does her best to make info digestible for you. Plus she's really funny. Kinda a lot of busy work for hw but its all really easy. 3 exams, 1 lesson plan, and a final. All super easy if you just show up tbh. Def take her course!
