kind of nice, kind of nuts... dont like 211, never will, but he makes it as painless as possible. not a big fan of the tests. i dont feel that what we learn through projects and debates, which are really effective, can be measured by the tests.

The class is mandatory in order to move on in the major. Let's face it, the class is not the most enjoyable thing ever but Dr. Apple helps liven it up and he's nice and easy to understand

Goofiest prof in all of JMU. He makes you want to go to class, and theres always at least one joke a lecture.Test are a little tough though, but if you study the study guides he provides on blackboard and study the notes, theres no reason to fail the tests. TAKE HIM!!!!!!

I LOVE PROFESSOR APPLE!!! His class is awesome. Very interesting and good professor. He post study guides online so if u do those and study should get at least B on the tests! He is so entertaining. Jumps around the room, plays sesame street as an example..posts our comments on the screen.

This guy cracks me up! He runs around the front of the room and seems a little bipolar, but the class is pretty good. Gives you reading guides for the book that tells you everything you need to know. Lectures are easy to follow and he tries to make it fun. You have to work, but not too hard

Psyc of the Holocaust was the COOLEST senior seminar that I could have ever picked! Dr. Apple is so funny and easy to work with. The small group class was easy to learn and speak up in and the assignments were fun and easy. The topics in the text were interesting, final research project somewhat time consuming however.

Dr. Apple is an awesome professor! Attendance is not mandatory, but I found myself always looking forward to going to class. 3 tests and the final, 2 projects and weekly PCQs make up your grade in the class. The PCQs are on blackboard and real easy to do. The projects aren't bad, & Apple is wonderful at helping you with anything you need! Take him!

Dr. Apple is the friendliest professor I've encountered-- he is very passionate about teaching psyc stats and wants everyone to do well. He pretty much makes it impossible for you to get below a B. Use old exams to prepare for tests. Has peer tutors available if you need help, though I didn't use one. Ended up with an A-- Definitely take Apple!

I am in my second research methods for a major besides Psyc, and I still remember everything from Apple's class. It's not a piece of cake, but he gives you all the info you need. He is an awesome guy, and will make you laugh. I plan to take as many classes as I can with him. Don't be afraid of stats with apple!

Awesome teacher! He really cares about his students and will do anything to help you succeed. He makes stats applicable to psychology and not just all about numbers. Math is not the priority in this class. Really nice and funny. He might even give you a sanitizing wipe if you give a really good answer in class.

He's really great. I had no interest in statistics whatsoever before this class and by the end I actually didn't mind coming. I used to think I was terrible at math but Apple really turned that around for me.

Professor Apple is amazing. I took his class for a summer session and it was 3.5 hours a day nonstop and he made the time just fly by. He really takes an interest in his students and makes it his goal to ensure that everyone has a solid grasp of the material. The material is not easy but he makes it simple to learn. He even gives away wipes!!

Apple is the man. I had his class over the summer and he managed to grab my attention the entire 3 hours every day (partly due to his LOUDNESS when he emphasizes KEY points). He's lots of fun and really easy to talk to in his office.

Dr. Apple is so awesome! His lectures are incredibly entertaining, clear, and interesting! He takes a personal interest in all of his students and is able to connect with everyone. He even created chapter guides to help when reading the chapters which were a huge help! I wish Dr. Apple taught more classes! I would take him for every one! Take him!

Social psyc has been one of my absolute favorite classes so far! Dr. Apple is hysterical & an amazing teacher. There are a few pre-class questions due every week, a research review, a research proposal & 4 exams. He provides reading guides to help with the text. If you read the textbook & attend class, it's a fairly easy B. Definitely take him!

I absolutely love Dr. Apple. He is super funny and energetic and he explains things really well! I thought coming into this semester this would be my hardest class but it's not at all because I understand everything he teaches. Not a lot of work for a 4 credit class. Definitely do the worksheets and practice exams before each exam they help a lot!

Apple is so goofy and funny! He is really clear on what he wants, and his lectures are interesting and crucial to pass the course in my opinion. I am not a math person, but I love his class.

Dr. Apple is fantastic! I hated stats and almost failed my freshman year, but he made the concepts so clear and easy to understand, going through each step to solve problems. He's also hilarious and extremely dedicated to his students. Was easily my favorite class of the semester.

Other comments were pretty spot on. He has a good point, the more practice you give yourself with this material, the better. He literally gives you the materials to succeed. come to class, do the work. note: i merely skimmed through the text most of the time and it really didn't impact performance by much, only a missed 1 point question or two.

TAKE HIM!!! He made the statistic in psych 210 so easy to understand and didnt make it more difficult than it needed to be. Show up, take notes, get extra help from the tutors, do the PCQ's, SPSS projects are easy, tests are not that bad. And he is such a caring human. take APPLE!!!!

Apple is a beast, the information in his lectures is concise and doesn't provide any information that isn't useful. He genuinely cares about his students and wants you to succeed. I suggest buying the book you wont read it all but it helpful for his exams.

Funniest professor ever. Explains things in very good detail. Gives you non-mandatory worksheets and practice exams that are almost identical to the exam. Does study sessions and provides you with tutors if you need them. If you go to class and take good notes while also doing the worksheets you are almost guaranteed an A.

TAKE! Apple was my favorite! I am definitely a try hard student & it takes me longer to grasp material so I did have to study often. BUT.. Apple made it SO much easier and makes sure you know whats going on! He also hosted study sessions before tests! He is a jokester & makes stats hilarious. Dr. Apple is definitely my favorite professor I have taken so far at JMU. He genuinely wants every student to do well in the class and will help if you just ask! He also responds to emails really quickly which is always a plus. For the content itself, I would say it is as difficult as you would expect for a college-level statistics class.

Amazing choice for PSYC210. He was extremely caring, and he really wanted to help everyone get the grade they wanted. His lectures were engaging, and he was responsive to questions and wasn't rude when I asked for help. It's important to review the textbook, he gives worksheets and usually takes questions directly off them for the exams.

Take him! Go to lecture, take notes, do the worksheets. He is the best professor at JMU by far. He is hilarious and makes class fun, and also cares about his students. He is an amazing teacher he breaks things down step by step and is always helpful. I 110% recommend him.

I'm not sure how, but professor Apple made an 8am stats class something that wasn't wholly dreadful or feel like a massive mistake in signing up for. On the first day he said "I want this to be your favorite class" and he meant it. Incredibly engaging and effective teacher. Highly recommend you take a class with him if you're a PSYC major.

Best professor i have ever had. Genuranly cares about students and has empathy for students. Uses humor to make stats easier to digest. Gives us breaks during his almost 2 hour class. The hardest part is comin at 8am, staying awake,yet he does randomly fall on the floor and scream so he keeps you on your toes. Dont settle for any less than Apple

We don't deserve a professor like Apple. He goes so far out of his way to make the class engaging, entertaining, and we learn so much from it. He is such a good human AND professor. TAKE THE CLASS!!! 4 question open note questions every week and 4 exams. If you know what you're doing in class, I promise you'll get an A in the exams.

He uses the textbook for some material on the exam and for practice for the exam but I only ever used it when studying so I'm not sure if you really need it. Attendance isn't mandatory but I highly recommend going as often as possible. This guy is fantastic, he makes waking up at 8am for a lecture worth it and he really genuinely cares.

I LOVED Professor Apple. He was one of my favorite professors I have had. He is so interactive with his students, and he makes an effort to get to know them. The class is very difficult material wise, but he actually made me want to attend class and learn the material. He explains everything extremely well, TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN!!

Would DEFINITELY recommend. Prof. Apple is one of the weirdest people I've ever met in my life but you have to love him. He is incredibly engaging and so passionate about statistics that he will scream in the middle of class. Only good things about Apple. Best professor at JMU! Cares about EVERY student he has. Lectures were engaging and he always has so much energy. Exams are mostly multiple choice and there are weekly reflections. Textbook was free and readings are completed on your own time, he also provides a reading guide to help. TAKE APPLE!!

There's a free online textbook and attendance isn't mandatory but there's a decent amount of material being covered in each class so I would go. Definitely would recommend!

Theres a short homework quiz each week but its easy. Content of the exams are consistent with the textbook and lectures and not hard in my opinion. Take him if you can!!!

Awesome class. Kevin always comes forward with enthusiasm, and you can tell he is passionate about what he teaches. The lectures were very helpful and made me understand the material well. Tests were pretty representative of the guides, which was nice. You are going to want to do those to study, which means you do need the textbook.

One of my favorite professors so far. Study guides are clear and representative of the test. Very enthusiastic and caring, as well as easily accessible outside of class. Class is not hard if you take the time, but you need the textbook for the study guides. I recommend it either way as it is helpful.
