Winter class so there were 4 speeches in total. I wouldnt say he made me a better speaker probably becuz it was just winter. I felt we spent more time listening to other people's speeches. And there were just 3 lecture days. But a REALLLY easy A. He's a great guy and funny, has ALOT of stories that are irrelevant but a perfect treat for the student

Great professor! 4 total speeches. Length of each speech increases by 2 min. Follow his templates and youll do well. Toughest part of the course is being in front of class. For a 5 week winter semester, I have to say he taught us very well. Work hard on your speeches since you have a speech once a week except for one week since there are 4 speeches and honestly most of the semester was listening to student speeches. Briancesco has become my favorite college professor by far. You do not need the book to pass his class with an A although it will help. He will cover most of it in class. His lectures are very fun & an easy grader IMO. I didn't give a 5 for easiness because it is not a "show up & pass" but still easy if you listen to him and follow directions.

To give an idea of how good Prof. Briancesco is, he is the head coach of one of the highest nationally ranked speech and debate teams in the nation. He said that his teaching style doesn't work for everyone, but I don't know why it doesn't. 4 speeches total, 2 of which are easy.

Loved this class! I am very shy but he made the class environment very positive and comfortable, after every speech you presented students passed you notes with positive feedback. Had so much fun with his warmups and tongue twisters I will remember this class forever! Highly recommend

Professor Briancesco is literally one of the coolest and best professors I've ever had. Down to earth, a sweetheart, and makes you feel comfortable coming out of your comfort zone. I didn't want to take this class AT ALL at first, but I'm so thankful that I did. One of the best decisions I've ever made. Do NOT miss out!

Professor Briancesco is THE BEST!! He really is. If you are looking for teachers for comm 101 take him. His way of teaching is great. There are 4 speeches you must present. The first one is about yourself, second is an informative speech, third a persuasive speech and the final speech is an award to anyone you wish. There's plenty of extra credit.

I took his class during the summer,5 weeks 4 speeches ranging from 2-7min Outlines & clear rubric given so if you follow it theres no reason you wont get an A. Very caring teacher who wants everyone to feel comfortable speaking in front of the class I HATED speaking in public but after this class I honestly feel a little more confident. GREAT GREAT

He's a really skilled professor in his practice, extremely knowledgeable and talented. But if you're good at what you do (speaking), he'll grade you extra tough.

If you are shy, take him. He is hilarious and even a little hot lol.

I took this class in the winter of 2017 and this teacher was absolutely amazing. If you hate public speaking and it's a requirement for you degree, I highly recommend this teacher. He works with you and actually makes speeches fun.

I feared this class ever since i started college.. but taking speech 101 with Professor Briancesco, best decision of my life. he's the best, he's understanding about the fear students have when it comes to public speaking. Professor Briancesco is the best professor at Valley! If anybody needs to take a speech class, you must take it with him. You will come out of the class with a lot more confidence and a much better speaker. He is also very hilarious and a total geek. He wants you to pass. There is no way you could take another professor. Briancesco all the way!

Kevin was literally one of the best professors I have ever had. He's so funny and charismatic. As long as you follow the guidelines, you should be good. If you're shy to speak in front of people, he makes you feel really comfortable. Absolutely loved this class.

Taking this class for summer & class is not hard. 5 quizzes online but drops 1 quiz. The quizzes super easy, just watch the videos he post to get an A. 4 speeches and their is a outline how he wants things, very easy to understand to get A. Register on time, it gets full quick! Don't be on your phone.

I was extremely nervous and had put off this class for as long as I could. Im so happy I took this class during the summer. Professor Briancesco is by far one of the best professors I have had and wish they were all like him. I recommend taking him, he truly is great and the class really isnt bad. I actually miss it now lol.

What can I say that no one else has already said? I struggle with anxiety and I was dreading this class since I found out I had to take it. I took it during the summer and was TERRIFIED. He definitely makes you feel at ease and cares. My last speeches were better because of his feedback. You need to take him if you are nervous about this class!

Great teacher. Very funny. Puts students at ease and cares about their success. Extra credit opportunities are available. Make sure you have a good volume during your speeches. Put in the effort and you'll find an easy A. Highly recommended.

Mostly everyone is always dreading to take a speech class but I guarantee you this professor will make it all better. He makes you feel comfortable and his speech topics are not hard at all. I felt comfortable enough to accomplish my speeches without feeling judged and just a great class to take.

Professor Briancesco is the best com101 professor at LAVC because he makes u feel comfortable in his class and before making a speech, very funny, inspirational, and easy A to get his class. I took him on the summer, his a very cool teacher and I'm glad that I took his class. Positive vibes :)

Love this professor! My first time taking gen-ed classes at Valley after transferring from Pierce. Hes very casual, respected, modern, and his lecture content was easy to understand! For a speech class Im very happy I chose him. He has great feedback, hes funny, and creates a welcoming environment for speaking (great for those with anxiety).

I can say that I enjoyed this class and i'm no fan of public speaking. He is very straight forward of what is expected in the class. If for some reason you do not have your outline ready he gives you the extra time to turn it in on the next class. The warm ups on speech day can be funny and awkward at first, but it definitely helps with the nerves.

This class is similar to a theater class. Acting and being in groups is usual for this class but it is really fun. If you are a shy person I wouldn't recommend this class. But then again I would because its a good way to get out of your comfort zone! I love this professor!

i think com101 is the right class to take with prof briancesco, youll def pass with some grade if you do all the speeches . tells u what to expect and gives clear explanation . hell break your walls of fear for public speaking, even if a little youll have abit fun in this class.

Literally! The best professor I've had so far, he is super funny. This professor makes the environment so relaxed and his warm ups are so fun! Showing up to class isn't mandatory but you won't regret going, I would definitely take him again, No homework, no textbook, just go to class to see what the speeches are about and follow his outlines.

Had terrible speech anxiety but after this class I feel much better. Easy class if you really try, I was simply going for a passing grade and ended up almost getting a B. Provides rubrics for every speech, provides lots of feedback afterwards and makes the class environment safe. Everyone is mature and respectful to others who aren't so comfortable

He is a good professor, before speeches we would do warm up vocals to get prepared. He is chill, grades on everything on how one presents in front of the class, he is young, quizzes online, need to look at his syllabus and videos on canvas. Have to turn in speech essay and rubrics and more.

I really enjoyed his class. My favorite part the warm up at the beginning.

I dreaded taking a speech class, but it wasn't bad at all. He was very clear on what is expected, had videos explaining each speech. Very helpful and funny. Four speeches and easy tests.

Very clear of what is expected. Didnt really go by the book. Took him for the winter semester, but the class wasnt as scary as I thought it would be. Gives great feedback.

Trust me I did not want to take a comms class. However, Briancesco made this class as easy on you as possible as long as you tried. Multiple speeches, longest was about 5 minutes or less. He gives various tips and tricks to improve your presentations and is super caring. Very fair and funny guy. Even those with anxiety can manage with this class.

I would absolutely take any class this professor teaches again. Super fun, yet you learn a lot. He gives a lot of tips on how to calm yourself down before and during the speech. Very useful information even in everyday life. I took the class during Winter - quizzes, speeches, participation.

I took this class online in the summer. Great professor wjth amazing lectures. The class is easy. 4 speeches where you record yourself and upload it to youtube and a quiz every week. I enjoyed this class and learned a lot.

One word to describe this professor is FANTASTIC! He has a good sense of humor, very chill, and you will have a fun time in his class I promise. This is a real 5 star professor . If I can take him in every communication studies class I would that how awesome he is. He is one of the BEST professors I've ever had in my years in LAVC. TAKE HIS CLASS!

His class was easy and fun to take. took it for. a short semester and had a good time. You do have to record yourself snd upload your video link into a discussion so others can see.

Prof Briancesco is sooo amazing! He uploads lectures and uses a lot of personal anecdotes as examples which really helped me to understand. He also puts in a lot of joke answers for the quizzes which is also so comforting for some reason. He gives sooo much time to submit the speeches and was just so understanding with any problem.

I know it's strange to take a public speaking class during online school. Professor B assigns a few speeches that go with a quiz that are about his lectures (sometimes cringe). Students record themselves talking and then post the video to YouTube, it's a straightforward process :)

This class was so fun! All the assignments were relatively easy and even enjoyable! You get to watch interesting videos and performances in this class and submit discussions about them. There is very little work in this class but it doesn't even feel like work. This class really gives you the chance to be creative and felt very judgement free:)

You are required to upload your speeches on YouTube. I was terrified of taking this class but Professor Briancesco is an awesome professor. Really easy quizzes and straightforward modules. He is also extremely passionate about public speaking and it was definitely showcased throughout this course.

I took his online comm 101 class during the winter. Really clear grading criteria and was very understanding about late work.

Professor Briancesco is one of the most caring professors I've taken. He is flexible on deadlines, understands life happens. He is an easy grader and allows unlimited retakes and redo's of assignments. He is honestly just great all around and would 100% recommend especially for anyone who is just starting off college. ALL AROUND AMAZING PROFESSOR!!

THE BEST PROFESSOR EVER!

He's a very nice and chill professor, he gives feedback for every assignment. I took him online and the speeches were via video, which wasn't bad at all. He only gives four speeches throughout the whole class and if you don't get a good grade on them he gives you a chance to redo them and fix your grade. He is also very chill on late work.

Professor Briancesco is a great professor. He is lecturing style is easy to follow. His quizzes come from his lectures. I took his DED course, speeches were done via video recording and lectures were recorded. His canvas modules are set up in a easy to navigate way. Definitely enjoyed this class.

Very easy course graded by 4 speeches and a 2-3 (doublespaced) final reflection paper. Gracious deadlines and well organized modules with really fun lecture videos that are useful but not necessary for speeches. You submit a youtube video of your speech into discussion for grading. Hes really caring and forgiving on deadlines and wants you to pass.

Loved this teacher so much. Assignment consisted of doing outlines, recording speeches, and quizzes. For the quizzes, he gives you all the answers which is an easy A. Instructions are always super clear and posted. The only con was that it was hard to get a hold of him but wasn't super necessary to get an A. Would highly recommend this class.

Took Prof B's online winter course for COM 101. Extremely light grader. Course is graded by 4 speeches w/ a speech outline and works cited, a short paper, and a few quizzes. All assignments can be redone for a better grade and there is no late work penalty. Extra credit options too if needed. Super chill and nice guy, and teaches some cool things.

The speeches are straightforward and the class work is easy. I am just glad this prof did not require zooms.

Professor Briancesco was a delight to take for Comm 101! Super funny, made lots of videos of him explaining the course, and overall had very easy assignments. Many of these included you uploading videos to YouTube of your speeches and was very easy, 100/10!

Professor Briancesco is an amazing professor and shows a lot of care for what he does. He is very nice and even has his own YouTube channel! His class consists of uploading videos of yourself doing speeches on YouTube as homework assignments which may be nervewracking to some so just a heads up! No proctoring for his exams and is amazing overall.

Professor Kevin is the most funny person/professor ever! His quizzes are funny as well. You need to take four speeches of yourself, which is not bad. Took him online, so it gives you more opportunity to perform well. Will take him again!

COMM 101- The class was a lot of fun! The course included 4 speeches divided through the semester which you film on your own and a few quizzes. Professor Briancesco is really caring and funny. You learn a lot through his video lecutures and he makes eveything really clear and easy to underatand! It's easy to do well. I would definitely reccomend!

Very good teacher, just do the assignments and you'll pass with an A. All you have to do is fill out some worksheets about your speech, and actually record your speech. It's pretty simple.

Professor Briancesco is a really nice professor. He has a clear grading criteria. His assignments are not difficult if you follow the instructions. He does NOT give out a lot of "busy work" like most professors. His assignments are really fun. I really enjoyed this class and I learned a lot. If you want to learn in a fun way take this class.
