This guy cracks me up. Not only is he extremely funny, he's also someone who teaches well. Grades pretty easily, and doesn't assign much work. Since he's a police officer, he sometimes brings in some of his colleagues to do presentations (dealing with firearms, and being an officer, etc.).

As for his class being an easy A, that is true! Attendance is semi-mandatory. Just be there in class perticipate in class discussions and you should be fine... Oh and he DOES NOT give the answers but if you fail you should not be in school, because he is 100% helpful and will make sure you get what you need to be successful.

Professor Brown is very funny. Makes learning fun. Easy to understand and he's just an easy going person. Really cool and knows his material. He's a sergeant at a police precinct. You learn a lot of things that you just can not learn from text books. The Midterm and Final are extremely easy. Take him he's awesome.

Easy going Prof. a paper based on a movie. he goes over the midterm n lets u knoon the powerpoint whats on the midterm n final. Oral presenation all he says is copy n paste for just that only. Very nice to talk to n is willing to help everyone.

A very positive person and ok professor. He won't make you study your a.s off, but will tell you lots of interesting stories from his NYPD background. If you get, say, Bs as a rule, here ypu'll get an A - that's the pattern :)

I took professor brown again in the spring semester/2013, he is so easy. i wish he can teach more classes. all you have to do is just listen and do what he says and you will get an A. no textbook required. he gives you the info you need to know. there's a powerpoint you have to do on any precinct you want and it's really easy

Great guy all around. He gives one paper based off a movie, three final essays, a midterm which he actually shows you prior and an essay along with it. Make sure you give an essay and not just a summary for the midterm and finals. Your grade will suffer for that. He is a very simple guy also. Easy pass and will go out of his way to help students.

He is a great guy There is no way that you could possibly fail his class. He got me to join the cadets and he took some of us to the police academy to practice the police JST. Just show up to class do the paper, study for the midterm and do well on the TAKE HOME FINAL. Most of his lectures are about sports or being a cop so that's great for you

SPR 14: Gives powerpoint slides with notes from required textbook but said it wasn't necessary to buy it. Great Professor. Doesn't mind if you're late as long as you attend class. Sometimes rambles on about his experience being a police officer but it is interesting. Made midterm REALLY EASY. Take home final (3 essays). Extra credit and one essay.

Professor Brown is the best professor I have ever taken at John Jay. His lectures are easy to follow and they are up on blackboard on the first day of class. No surprises throughout the semester and he makes the class go by fast. Easy class to take and requirements are paper on a movie, oral presentation (quick 2 mins), take home midterm and final.

Nothing bad to say about this professor. He tells you what you need to know for the exams. He even shows you what will be on the exam. It is up to you to go back and look for the answers on the slides he puts up, they are on bb. So funny, makes class really fun and interesting.

Amazing human, not just teacher. Worked in NYPD narcotics and auto theft. Super New York sports fan. His wife works with the FBI. 5 quizzes, Midterm, and Final which is reviewed. He is the real boss, take him and you will learn a lot of fun and useful things.

Best professor at John Jay, A!! Take this class for an amazing and funny professor. He has a very clear syllabus and uploads everything on blackboard. One paper based off an in-class movie, midterm is reviewed in class with the essay questions take home, final is also take home. I have taken him twice and wish I could take him again.

He is an intelligent and kind person. His discussion boards and assignments topics are very interesting. He also does a review of the final before the final.

Here is the thing with Kevin Brown he is the GOAT ��. Like literally he is the greatest professor I ever had the pleasure of having. If I could I would have taken all of my PSC classes with him simple as that. Class is just one simple presentation and a 7 to 10 pages final essay. 100% recommend Professor Brown. The midterm and final exam have 2 section the essay part is take home the 40 multiple choice questions is in class very Light work no need to worry.easy class really recommend it taking it

Great Professor

Very funny professor, but it is an very easy class. 1 easy paper. 1 mid term and 1 final exam. Each exam has an essay in it which he lets you do on your own at home before the test. He literally shows you the exam a class before, and lets you take pictures. If you get anything but an A, its on you.

As a senior, I strongly believe that this professor deserves a rating of 5/5. You won't find another professor who teaches as effectively to ensure that students truly understand the material. I have taken both of his classes and would rate them as 10/10. Yes, he can be a bit of a talker, but the class flies by. If you have the chance, TAKE HIM!
