Prof. Costa is the best professor you could possible get for Anatomy and Physiology. His way of teaching is very personal, one-on-one, very thorough. He's fun, interesting, and makes everything make sense. I HIGHLY recommend him!!!!!

Professor Costa was the best teacher I had ever had. He was beyond intelligent and made sure everyone understood a topic before moving on. His lab tests were straight to the point and the lecture tests were a bit more difficult. He only tests you on what he has said in class, nothing else. Take great notes and you are fine.

Great professor. He is passionate about what he does and passes it along to his students. I only had him for lab and he let us video him while he went over different models. He tell you EXACTLY what will be on the test and provides review sheets. In fact all I really studied from were the videos because they pretty much tell you what to focus on.

Wish I'd had Costa for 131! He's a fast talker, but he repeats the important stuff. He has extra help and really wants you to learn the material. Barely uses text. All tests MC and from his powerpoint lectures and notes. Great professor!

I highly recommend Costa.He offers extra help (although extremely early in the AM). His exams are not easy but not tricky. Just write down everything he says (which is doable)and study- this will guarantee a good grade.He also has this sexy-professor thing going on- beware- it gets hard to pay attention to what he is actually saying! :)

Wwithout his help I would NEVER have passed this class. This was my second time taking this class and WOW what a difference having him!! I was wondering who this person was referring to. He occasionally spoke about this medical school experiences and that was only to make a point. I didn’t receive an A and many of my classmates didn’t either!!

Costa is amazing, BUT you have to put in the work! I never once had to go to my textbook as a reference, because he made the concepts easy to understand & remember. I am now in Micro (not w/him, unfortunately) and all of what he taught is being used (remember: cells make tissues tissues make organs...etc?) YEP, using it now! I HIGHLY recommend him!

The class is pretty much what you make of it, I never once looked at my textbook because his test are based off what he says in class.

Amazing, truly cares about students&preparing them for future medical careers. However he treats the class like you are in med school, college is hard but be prepared to stress out about every test&be completely overwhelmed. Extremely rare to find a professor like Professor Costa. The way he teached/explained complex things were made simple. His tests were somewhat hard but with looking over notes a few hours a day prior to a week before exam, you should be good. Great professor and even better guy.

Hes the best Anatomy teacher in Nassau. Lab tests are 40 questions usually and really easy if you know the models, his lecture tests are fair, but are more on the tough and challenging side.

This is one of the best professors i've ever had. He explains everything very clearly. He lets you video tape him going over the models in class so you can go home and study them. He wants everyone to do well. TAKE HIM if you get the chance! oh and he's hot too

Professor Costa is a great professor. I had him last semester and this semester; but I did much better in his class last semester. This semester he slacked off and it threw me off. He crammed a lot of the stuff because of the snow days and the days that he took off.

He came in on weekends and nights for extra help. Gave out sample practice/test questions. I did what he told me to do and it was an ez A. I was very happy with him. Better than my past prof.

prof. costa is a amazing professor, he is the best professor for A&P 1, 2 & micro 202. I had him in only micro. He tought us very well with good examles, make sure write everything during the lecture. Most of the exam come from his notes. His exams are little tricky . I love when he saying during lecture, "who cares, it does't matter." lol!

Professor Costa is also an inspirational teacher, because he truly inspired me to stay in school after taking his class. School doesnt come easy to me and Professor Costa takes the time and goes out of his way to help his students succeed. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND HIS CLASS.

Professor Costa is the real deal. He educates you on the material you came to learn and supports your goal. He is 100% honest and straight forward. He's respectful, professional and unbiased and expects you to be the same. He's funny and real. Do what he says and you will pass! He's one of the best college professors I've ever had.

Professor Costa is the greatest Professor for any AP class you have to take. His lectures are clear and delivers the message in a understanding manor. That being said, his exams are a bit different. The wording is not the greatest on his exams and are a bit tricky, a few other students said the same thing. Hes still a great Professor.

Straight forward. Tests what he covers in class, just write down what he talks about and you will be fine. study early and do his online sample questions.

Hes an amazing professor. His tests come straight from his handouts and notes. He tells you everything you need to study. I didnt even need the textbook, only the lab book. If you study his notes, you will definitely pass his class. Hes always kind and respectful and willing to help his students. His classes fill quickly so be on the look out!

I took him a year ago and since then have transferred to another college but he remains my favorite professor ever! Please take him if you get the chance, whoever has him is lucky. Professor Costa is amazing at what he does. He genuinely cares about his students. His lectures keep you engaged with his high energy, stories, and tricks to remember the content. His lecture recording, practice questions, and hand outs helps me a lot! It's hard subject, but if you put in the time and utilize everything he give you, you will pass.

Gives extra credit and cares about how youre doing in the class and really makes an effort in your learning. Hope I have him for AHS132. I couldve gotten an A just my time management and prioritization. Doesnt rush through material. Very transparent with grading. Tries making class as fun, engaging, and interactive as possible.

Most students don't get through A&P1 because of the amount of material you need to know and it can become stressful but i'm telling you prof. costa is one of the best! He's here to help anyone please don't be afraid to ask for help. For this class you have to review your notes consistently! he does not give any extra credit. Good luck :)

A good man. I had emergency in my country and he was very understanding. He was so nice and spent time helping me understand anatomy words. I work hard and did really good. I felt very comfortable in his class.

Prof Costa could not be more straight forward, he want us all to do well and get into nursing later on. He clearly loves being a teacher and improves himself every semester. He makes the class easy if you work.

prof costa is one of the sweetest prof iv'e ever met. he likes to tell real life story examples to help students memorize the material. you can just tell he loves his job & his students. he also has prerecorded lectures online if you miss class. if you put in the time and effort you will most definitely end the class with a A.

I can only speak to his honors class. Everybody in the class was focused and there to learn. Most of the class spent two semesters together, which is great because you know what to expect. Having the same professor for 131 and 132 was worth the effort to get in. He made an honors class fun. I met some good people as well.

I have him more anatomy and physiology 1 honors. he is great, try to go to every single class because they are all so vital. for lab classes you can find everything recorded online which is good for when you have emergencies. tests are exactly what he teaches in his slides, be sure to take good notes.

I took his hybrid class with Dr. Klinger and if you can take it, you should. It's a lot of hours of videos and studying and you will have quizzes almost every week of the semester but it helps you do well. Take his practice quizzes and memorize the questions because if you do that you are guaranteed at least an 80-90 on lecture tests.

1 of best prof's I've ever had- clear, specific, on-point lectures esp bc it was online. Explains everything so well, makes it easy to learn and understand. Super organized which REALLY helps w online class. I was scared of AnP2, but he made it enjoyable. Wish I could have him for every science-heavy class - if you can, def take him, he's amazing!

Currently taking Dr. Costa's online lecture class. His lectures are very clear; he gives many examples and draws pictures to understand the material. He also provides practice quizzes for lecture exams; most questions are on the exams. He provides a calendar for exam dates, too. I 10/10 recommend him; I wish I had him for lab class; take him!

Dr. Costa is the best professor at Nassau. He genuinely cares about students learning and comes up with techniques to help you memorize. I would never take an anatomy class that wasn't taught by him. Attendence isn't “mandatory” per him , but if you miss you will not do well. The information is a lot. But he ensures he teaches it the best way.

Upgraded into his honors med. micro, best decision I ever made. This professor should be teaching other professors how to teach. Exceptional experience. I took A&P 1, A&P 2, and Microbiology with Dr. Costa so trust me when I tell you to take him. You will truly learn with him, I can't imagine being taught these subjects by anyone else now. Dr. Costa is the best professor by far at Nassau. He makes it his duty to find any way to get the information into your head. Attendance is not mandatory. But miss class you will fail due to not learning material and he explains this point too. I took him again for A&P2 and I would not have passed without his teachings

If u need to take any of the classes in these reviews, make sure to get to registration the min it opens because he will make you pass with an A material is difficult.Yet he makes it the easiest learning experience you can get. Dr.Costa was the best professor i've ever had! He cares about his students really understanding material and makes complicated material easy to understand. He gives practice tests which are very helpful in knowing what's needed to know for exams. My class was about 17/18 students, everybody had only positive things to say about him and his teaching

Professor costa is an amazing professor and if you get the chance TAKE HIM! His teaching methods and care for students allows you to do great. I have never been a great student but in his A&P1/2 honors and Microbiology honors I got an A in all of them. He is so helpful, and is one of the only professors who genuinely cares.

I took this as a Hybrid course. The lectures were recorded and power points were given to follow along. He gave practice questions on bright space. He is very straightforward with what you will be graded on. Exams were done during lab sessions. The lecture videos were lengthy As long as you stay on top of everything you will be fine.
