He's really funny & explains everything really well. Gives study guide for midterm & final. Really really great lectures. If you're in his class, you're lucky!

This guy is great! Very fair. If you ever get the opportunity, I recommend taking his class. Very informative and fun.
This is an awesome class only because he makes it so interesting. Teaches at a good pace and understands that we wouldn't be in his class if we didn't want to be. Take his course on the basis that he's the coolest Music prof. at SDSU.
This is what a college professor should be. . .helpful and SEXY! I love this guy.
He Rulllllllllllllllllles
Very cool, except for the fact that he still listens to Vicki Sue Robinson
Great teacher :) LEctures are fun and interesting, and he's very cute.
Such a nice teacher. Passionate about his work. AWESOME!! He is also VERY cute. Wish he wasn't married!!
Fun class, good teacher.
Loves music and knows a lot about world music. For a summer course, there was a lot to memorize, especially if you are taking other summer courses as well. Heard some interesting types of music and overall was a fun class.
Easy class, good teacher.
The coolest professor in the music department. He cares about his students, he loves music, and has a great knowledge about what he teaches. He's also veeery cute and sexy!
Great teacher. He makes the information fun and interesting. Class isn't too hard if you learn the terms and listen to the CDs.
He is so cool. The class is so not hard and even if you have no interest in music he makes it fun. Plus he's goofy and easy on the eyes.
The class was enjoyable to those of us interested in world music and older music. It is not an easy A, but if you study a bit and listed to the music again and again you can pull it off. He's really kind and tries to make the class fun.
One word: Awesome
great, fun, and easy
Professor Delgado's class was just what I needed with a full load of hard science classes. Although studying was still required, the tests were not difficult. Listening to the CDs was an enjoyable way to learn, in accordance to the reading.
EASY A! very good teacher. provides all the study material. just go to lecture and concerts. i study two hours before the test, and aced it everytime.
Class seems overwhleming at first but once you take the first test and realize how easy it easy, the rest is just a breeze. 1/4 of your grade is just attending concerts after class. Teachers chill for sure.
This class was interesting. The only thing is the 9 concerts that you have to attend. Teacher made class fun and interesting.
He is funny and interesting. I highly recommend this class for your GE!!
he made this class so much fun and interesting. he's very fair and has a good teaching style. he funny too.
He's a really good teacher. He gives current examples and analogies to what we're learning. He's very fair and funny. Read the book, come to class, and study, and you'll do fine.
Took this teacher for both 151 and 345. Very good prof. and you can tell that he loves music. Easy course not much studying required just listening to the music. Going to concerts are free points and there are extra credit oppurtunities. This is a good class for lower and upper division G.E.
Good class. Easy to follow. Interesting prof.
This professor is not organized. A lot of the required readings that are supposed to be online (in PDF format) are not. He gets angry and ends class whenever he feels like it. I don't like his way of teaching.
TAKE THIS ONE!! the class is pretty easy and interesting.. Take good notes and do the review. You will be fine
Pretty much lecture, then a mandatory live concert of "world" music for 50 minutes. 3 tests and a paper. Lots of material during the lecture, but just go with the study guide. Memorize the vocabulary and get familiar with the music samples = A. Test questions can be wordy/tricky. Not hot, but might I say he is kind of handsome.
i took his 4 section. 3 exams, 1 paper, concerts mandatory with 2 extra credit or makeup concert options. he posts up study guides a week prior to exam date. pretty awesome teacher and its pretty hard to make anything less than a B.
Really cool guy, the best part about lecture is watching him play all sorts of instruments. Notes are posted on online, saving you the trouble of copying them each day. The concerts were entertaining and diverse, you can't go wrong with this class.
What a cutie! Class consists of lectures that he posts on blackboard (so no need to attend class, unless theres videos) and concerts after class. You don't even need to read the hw he assigns. I didn't read ANY, I just memorized the music cd and the terms on the STUDY GUIDE & I got an A, but I went to both extra credit concerts. Do it.
This is an easy class, with a great teacher. Only down side is attending the concerts..they are BORING.
His class is structured so that you can't fail. 3 tests that are pretty hard considering the terms used are foreign. 10 concerts that are mandatory and pretty boring (also 2 extra credit concerts). 1 paper that was a piece of cake. You probably don't need to attend class because attendance isn't mandatory and all his lectures are online.
This was a great class. Easy and interesting. 400 points total. 100 points for 10 concerts each worth 10 points, few extra credit concerts. 2 Midterms and a final, each worth 100 points. Final is not comprehensive. His study guides are very clear on what to expect from the midterms/final. Take his class!
Breeziest GE class I've ever taken. I put in a little effort and you'll do fine. Music selections off the hook. There's a lot of hiccups and downtime in the class though, so go prepared knowing you'll be wasting half the lecture watching videos and waiting for the projector to warm up. He's very passionate and his lectures, and even tho they're verbatim to his slides and readings, they are entertaining to say the least.
I hope this class is easy because I hate the music! I am taking summer and I really hope this is easy! After reading some of the statements the other students wrote, gives me hope.
This class was pretty interesting. I took it during summer school. 3 exams and optional final. Half the exam is based on knowing info on the selected music, which is pretty simple(print and read the music notes!). a lot of questions is based on lectures. there's a bit of reading but its not difficult. NOTnan easy A, but is possible.
Very cool laid back professor. Very passionate about the subject matter.3 exams and an optional 4th one. 1 two page paper as well. Copy EVERYTHING from his power points down and memorize key terms and music samples and you should be ok. Take it during summer to avoid the 10+ concerts you have to attend.
The professor was very relaxed. Attendance is not mandatory. Exams were easy. Gives you a study guide. just study that and the music. youl get an A
Consists of 3 exams and 10 concerts. Exams are not hard as long as you study the terms and remember the music! The terms may be a bit hard because they're words we're not familiar with but if you study them with the music, it'll be easier. Go to all the concerts and EC ones too! Easy A as long as you do all those things! Great professor too!
Easy class. Consists 10 forty five minute concerts and three exams. He gives you a study guide for the tests, which is pretty much spot on. As long you know the study guide the tests are a cake walk. Delgado is a pretty nice guy. Overall, its an enjoyable and easy class. Good GE pick
MUSIC 345 wasn't as easy as others have rated, although definitely it was not rocket-science material. I thought I had flunked the class but actually received a B-. I am contented with the grade seeing how I was slacking off and didn't attend all the musical concerts that were required. So I can't blame anyone but myself.
This class is a great pick. All you have to do is study the study guide and listen to the music. Classes can seem long, but in the end if you work hard you will get an A. Dr. Delgado is great!
This class was a perfect summer school class to take. Gives you plenty of time for every module, you just need to sit down a couple times a week and crank it out. Class consists of one 10 point quiz per module which he gives you the answers for in his lecture and then a music test which was simple. Super good teacher take this class!!
Very straightforward summer class. A module per one or two days and an exam every few weeks. All of the answers to the modules and exams are in his content, you just need to figure out where they are. I highly recommend this class to anyone who needs this requirement and is interested in culture and/or music.
Awesome teacher! Knows a ton about music and can play any instrument! Very fun and interesting class! Extremely straightforward and very fair teacher! I surprisingly learned a lot and really enjoyed his class! Take him if you can! You won't regret it!
Awesome teacher! Lecture wasn't a waste of time, very straightforward, and interesting. Class during the summer consisted of 7-8 modules per unit, a couple of short writing assignments, and an exam per unit. There were only 3 units btw. Just pace yourself and the class is a breeze.
The best class and easiest A I have ever taken in an online environment. Learned a lot about music from all over the world. Loved the info on Japan, West Africa and Bulgaria of all places. No books to buy just lots of stuff to download and read and also watch on blackboard. Take this class!
This class was horrible. It is supposed to be a GE class that I took because it was interesting, but he expects you to know the material as if you are majoring in music. Also, his lectures are extremely boring. He uses blank white slides and writes paragraphs on them (very easy to fall asleep) If you're looking for an easy A then go somewhere else.
This class is based on memorization. Gives you a study guide for every test. Memorize the study guide, which is very easy, and you get an A!!! yes boring lecture, but pretty easy. Btw, no textbook and you get to go to 10 concerts.
Delgado is an awesome professor. The only complaint is that the lectures are rather boring because he teaches with very dull slides. However, he is passionate about the subject which makes the lectures more tolerable. I also really enjoyed the concerts. Do the study guides, read, memorize the listening section and you'll get an A.
All the people that rate this class as easy is full of it or they're music majors. The concerts suck and are mandatory but if you like the sounds of pots and pans banging then by all means take the class. The tests are hard you have to memorize terms and music in multiple languages. Its an easy C, reasonable B, impossible A. nuff said.
This is a VERY straightforward class. Consists of 3 Exams, 10 mandatory concerts, couple short blog assignments, & 2 Extra Credit concerts. If you do the study guide and spend a few hrs memorizing the terms, you'll definitely get an A. The e.c. helps a lot. Got 100% in the class. Not a music major class!!! Easy GE class! Highly recommend.
This class was the best upper division GE class ever. You do not need to major in music in order to understand the material. If you are interested in learning about different cultures and music, this is the right class for you. Of course earning an A is not given; you must work for it. However, it was the easiest A I've ever earned at SDSU.
Perfect format for this GE class. Read the posted articles and you'll do great on the quizzes. There were three blog assignments, 19 quizzes, and three exams. Easy A! Professor was very helpful and prompt in clarifying the material via email
Delgado is way chill. This A was not given, and that's why I got a B+. Make sure to do the surveys after each quiz. I forgot half the time and that's why I got the grade I did. Pretty interesting class. Not a lot of work. Delgado is really accessible.
KEVIN DELGADO, thank you for such a wonderful experience. I have taken this course (World Music in Contemporary Life) 3 years ago, but I still think about all the concerts that I went and things I learned thanks to this class. I loved world music before, but now I love it even more, and most importantly, I appreciate music from all over the world!
Loved this class. Must attend 10 concerts after class (done by 6:50)& costs $10-12 per. 3 exams & 3 online quizzes (help for the exams & have 2 attempts). 3 online blogs with 2 comments. Provided study guides & all reading material online (did not really have to read). If you do the study guide & and study the music for a few hours it's an easy A.
Very very very easy class. This is a class that meets once a week for a little less than 2 hours. And after each lecture, there are concerts you must attend. (10 total with 2 possible extra credit concerts). Delgado lectures through powerpoint and has required readings, but if you ONLY study the study guide, you're all set. Easy A. Recommend.
Delgado is amazing! Good class. Just showed up to class and studied the day before and got an A in the class. There are 10 concerts throughout the semester that are part of your grade. Gives to 2 extra credit opportunities. Overall, the class was very interesting and I learned a lot. Thanks for an good semester Delgado!
Lectures are truly amazing. Very good speaker and extremely knowledgeable in ethnomusicology. Memorize the study guide before each test to get an A.
Music terms may be confusing because they are from around the world. Just need to be good at memorizing. 10 concerts which you pay for them at 10-12 dlls each. 2 midterms + final is just another one so 3 in total. 50% of the midterms are questions from songs that he gives you. Easy A only if you go to concerts and study from study guide.
Great prof and even brings in instruments to show the class. All lectures and readings are online. It shouldn't be hard unless you suck at memorizing. As always, don't procrastinate and make sure u show up to class and the concerts. Make sure you allot an hour after the music class to go to concerts. Concerts are worth a good amount of your grade.
This class was my favorite of the semester! The professor is really enthusiastic & knowledgable about music. Is a one day lecture that consists of: 2 hrs of lecture followed by 1 hr of concert(the concert is about the lecture that you just had, it makes you retain information better!)STUDY A LOT for the tests! and you'll get an A. extra credit:DO IT
He was a helpful teacher overall but his tests were sometimes too much. You have to basically learn 60 foreign terms for each test and memorize 12 songs. Also have to pay $110 for concerts for grade points. Nice class but it seemed like it was a foreign language course on top of already having to take a music class...
Did not put in the syllabus when our quizzes and blog assingments were due. 3 exams (non cumulative). The first exam was easy, however the second exam was a fat joke and was ridiculously hard. Make sure you put in the hours of studying. The quizzes are very very specific. Mandatory concerts every monday night- easy part of grade. Interesting class
Like music? It's not about what you like. It's learning a new language and it's many different countries and continents you'd not be ready to read about. It's not only a new language, but you have to put the style from notes to what you hear and there are TOO MANY. It's too broad of a spectrum. A thousand words of new language. Not easy. I get A's.
Perfect GE class! As a business major, I was somewhat worried about taking music as a GE, but Delgado explains the terms multiple times. I found the modules very interesting and enjoyed learning about various cultures. This class is not difficult if you are willing to do the readings and listen to the lectures. Expectations are clear.
Absolutely loved his class! The way he lectured really engaged me in the topic. I was never bored during his lectures and always sat at the first row to really give my undivided attention. Quizzes and discussions were online- really easy. Tests weren't too bad, just a little time-consuming having to know the songs for the listening portion.
For this class, I have to say it is a lot of work but it can be an easy A. He is very straightforward with everything so there are no surprises. There are also plenty of chances for extra credit on quizzes and tests. I would definitely recommend taking the class. He is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about what he teaches and it shows!
Delgado is a sweetheart. He cares about your success in his class as well as in all your academic endeavors, and goes out of his way to show it: library tour for freshmen, promoting campus resources, encouraging feedback on practically every assignment. Caters to all different learners. Most assignments over Blackboard, and grade always up to date.
Professor Delgado is a really nice guy who is very passionate about music. He loves teaching and is very kind, helpful, and accommodating. There are journals, discussions, quizzes, a creative project, along with a midterm and final. It is a decent amount of work for a ge and not a super easy A. Overall I'm glad I took the class.
He is a very nice guy and very passionate about music. He is also incredibly accommodating and willing to help. The lectures and reading are kind of boring with lots of info about the culture of the 70s. I wish it was more about the music and not mainly on the history and culture. The tests are kind of hard so you really have to study. Lots of hw.
EASIEST A OF ALL TIME. Online quizzes that have questions that are directly from his lecture, you can speed up a 30 minute lecture x2. Attend concerts, and take the online quizzes. Too easy. Meet to take the midterm and final. Failed both still had 96% because of all the extra credit. 100% WOULD RECOMMEND.
Weekly assignments, nothing too bad if you stay on top of it. Great and interesting professor and class
Took his disco class, easy class and interesting subject. Although he doesnt take attendance I recommend showing up to class because the quizzes rely heavily on lecture material that he doesnt post online.
Professor Delgado is very passionate about disco, and teaches very well; his lectures were great. I admit I didn't want to take the class at first because I didn't really like disco, but music 351 ended up converting me. Thank you Professor Delgado for Love Hangover by Diana Ross.
Great professor and fun class. Attendance is not mandatory but I loved going to lectures because of how passionate Delgado is. Easy A if you do all the work.
I was worried taking this class bec some reviewed him as hard esp. the listening exam. I studied hard for the 1st exam & perfected it! It wasn't hard at all. Watching the weekly modules is fun & will help the exams. Concerts are so cool. You're a fool not to take this class. I got an A so I didn't need to take the final. Kind Prof. Lots of EC.
You get HUM and Cultural Div. credits for this one class. How awesome is that! All you do is watch cool interesting online lectures, take the quizs, then go to weekly concerts. Midterm, final, 2 easy opinion blogs that's it. If you have an A b4 the final u don't need to take it. Easy A. Lots of EC. Idk how one can't get an A in this class.
To be honest I just took this class because I assumed it would be an easy choice for a GE fulfillment. I was pleasantly surprised by how interesting it turned out to be. Delgado does a good job of incorporating different types of instruments, and music into his lectures. Tests are very easy. No textbook needed! Fun class overall!
Took this class to fill the GE. Have to pay for the concert series and you get attendance credit. Quiz and concert every week. Few blog posts that are easy. If you do well enough throughout the semester, you don't have to take the final.
This class is one of the easiest classes you can take at SDSU. Only 2 Exams worth 100 points each. Quizzes every week but they are literally around 11 Q each and he gives you 1 hour to do them, which is more than enough time. Also concerts every week, 50 min each, show up to them and that's 25 points for each.
This class has A LOT of work to do and the due dates are very close together. He offers a lot of extra credit but you have to actually watch the LONG lectures and movies in order to get good grades. There was a total of 20 quizzes, 3 listening exams, and several discussion board posts. It's an easy class just a lot more work than expected.
I loved MUSIC 345! The class is made up of 20 modules with readings, lecture videos, discussion posts, quizzes, and 3 exams. Try to complete assignments as soon as they're posted because they will pile up fast. This class is so engaging, you'll learn music from Moroccan Hip-Hop to Spanish Flamenco music, you will love it! Take this class!
I had him online because of COVID and even with the distance, he still was caring and checked in on his students. There are reading and writing assignments once a week but he is very lenient. My favorite professor I have ever had.
Honestly, I took this class thinking it would be an easy elective, but it isn't. This class has way too many lectures. 20 modules with a (3) hour long lectures. The quizzes are harder than they should be. The questions are very specific and sometimes confusing I think this class is way too serious for a silly elective. I would not take this again.
Professor Delgado is probably my favorite professor Ive had at SDSU so far. The class was super straightforward and organized. Each week we had a mandatory concert to attend for our participation points and a weekly online module quiz that was based on information from his lectures and supplemental readings. Highly recommend, easy A class forsure!
Lots of quizzes that are pretty easy. Few discussion boards that only require few sentence answers. Tons of opportunities for extra credit.
As long as you take notes of his lectures and do all the assignments you will get a good grade. You dont really need to read any of the course materials given (they can be really long and time consuming) so just CTRL+F to find what you need in the reading for the quizzes. But watch ALL the videos he sometimes puts questions in to make sure you did.
