He is an awesome professor! He's incredibly understanding. A little goofy, but very kind hearted. His exams cover only material he covers (no shady business) . Skimming the book is enough. PowerPoints he posts help a lot! The exam reviews are MANDATORY because he goes over each question and states topics that are covered. Reasonably easy A!

He is a great teacher and is not interested in making anything complicated. The tests are straight forward and the one paper is a breeze.

Great teacher!! Very little material to cover in course so midterm and final are a breeze, especially cause he provides you with a study guide identical to test. Took Policing in America during the summer. Fornshill is a sweet and hilarious guy. His personal experiences make great stories and he's very qualified to teach the subject. 2 tests and 1 six page paper on a movie. Easy A. Lectures are hilarious and very interesting. If you need an upper level, elective, or crim course TAKE HIM!

Professor Fornshill is very social and approachable guy. He is understanding to students needs. His class is structured with a socratic method where the class leads the discussions based on the question he asks. Then he will go over brief powerpoint slides. The course only consist of Midterm, Final, class participation, & 4-5 pg reflective paper.

Definitely one of my favorite classes at Mason. Fornshill is fun, engaging and interesting. I was excited to come to class each week. The midterm and final both took me about 5 minutes to complete (exactly like the study guide) and had to write a 2 page paper about a police ride along. The class brings up controversial subjects and sparks debate.

Fornshill is an awesome teacher! he really cares about his students and does his best at keeping everyone engaged. He's hilarious, very understanding, and easy going. His primary focus is his students' success. I would take his class over and over! One thing, I felt bad when he asks for students to participate but they do not. In short, TAKE HIM!

Kevin was my professor for a study abroad trip- I spent a month in the UK with this guy and I love him. He encourages questions and conversation, has a wild sense of humor, and really cares about what he's teaching. Pay attention and participate, and you'll do great. He's a pretty generous grader, too.

Kevin is by far my favorite professor at GMU. He cares about his students so much and has his class set up where you learn a lot but it is not hard/stressful at all. His lectures are hilarious and informative and usually only last 60-90 minutes. I 10000% recommend him!

Unlike most professors at Mason, Kevin actually has a personality, sense of humor and a desire to get his students to learn. I took Crim100 just for an elective and I learned so much, very enjoyable class. There is no reason that you should get anything less than an A in here.

Professor Fornshill is very outgoing. He is the professor some people may not like because of how he teaches. He gives his lectures and ask questions to the class, then once you answer he will argue your answer to make you think. Overall the class was easy; discussion boards, midterm, final, and paper. The paper is enjoyable, get to write inmates!

He is the best Professor Ive had at Mason. His lectures were not boring at all for a 3 hr class. You can tell that he genuinely cares about his students and wants everybody to do well. He also really appreciates it if you engage with the class and participate. Honestly just show up and do the work and youve got an A.

ONE OF THE BEST PROFESSORS I'VE EVER TAKEN!!! Take this class if you want to learn a lot. Easy discussion board posts a multiple-choice midterm and final and a final paper in which you can essentially pick your topic as long as it relates. CRIM325 is my favorite course I've ever taken at Mason.

He's an excellent professor and his lectures are amazing. You will have BB discussion posts to do, one midterm, a final assignment of your choice, and a final exam. Attendance is mandatory. This class was 3 hours but honestly he entertain all of us and at times will dismiss us earlier. Please participate in his class to get a good grade in the end.

Fornshill is awesome. He's always cracking jokes, telling personal stories, and just reading his slides in an exciting way that makes class go by quickly. The discussion board writings are super easy, paper is long but easy. STUDY FOR TESTS! They get way more specific than you would expect. I would retake him!!

Extremely nice and tries to make the class engaging. I could tell by his announcement posts that he didn't like my class due to a lack of participation (during discussions) and effort when it comes to assignments. It's extremely easy to get an A in this class and I'm rating Professor Fornshill a 4 and not a 5 because he doesn't read emails.

Professor Fornshill is a really cool dude with a lot of stories. He expects alot out of his students but you can really get by very easily if you just attend class. Two exams and a final project which consists of participating in a ride-along and visiting court. Get the ride-along done early, and he also has a tendency to be sassy in emails, etc.

Professor Fornshill was an amazing professor who gave good lectures. He was funny and communicated well with his students. I really enjoyed taking my first CRIM class with him in Spring of 2022, and I plan to take his Hate Crimes class in Spring of 2023 because it was highly recommended!

Very easy class, I recommend going to the lectures because he explains it in a way that makes it stick. Small discussion board assignments that are an easy grade, there is one paper that is fairly easy to write. The midterm is easy because of the study guide provided. You should be set as long as you follow that.

He is an easy grader, midterm and final are not hard. Attendance is mandatory, but class does not feel like a chore, its exciting. He was great. He responded to my emails and made every way possible to get the class project straightened out for me. The class project is a ride along and observation of a criminal case. He constantly made sure everyone was set for the ride along and would contact police departments on your behalf. Easy grader, very easy class. Easy to get an A.

He appears very strict the first day of class, but he is really fun and caring after you get to know him. He wants everyone to pass his class and makes his exams very easy and straight-forward. Participation does matter, but he makes the discussions very engaging. I highly recommend you take any of his classes if given the opportunity!

One of the best professors at GMU. Kevin is very funny and makes the class very entertaining and engaging. Most of the assignments are just discussion board posts. There's one large assignment that you have the whole semester to do. Test are short and easy, just need to know the terms. Very easy class, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Lectures are extremely interesting and interactive, he makes sure to relate the content to things relevant to the students for further understanding. the class project is important a police ride along and a court observance, both insightful and easy to make into a 7-8 pg paper. highly recommend his class!

Super witty guy who made the long lectures a lot more interesting. He usually doesn't use the full class time, and you often get out early. Exams are super easy and get the ride-along and court viewing out of the way so you aren't behind with the paper you'll need to write on those. Super great professor especially for an intro criminology class

Fornshill is a great professor. There is a semester long project/paper that you will need to complete. The assignment gets sent out during the registration period so that if you don't have the means to do the ride-a-long or the court visit you can still get into a different professors class. He's a great professor and I definitely recommend.

Professor Fornshill's CRIM-100 class is great for students just getting into the criminal justice/legal field. His lectures are engaging, funny, and always ended an hour early. But most importantly, be respectful, complete all assignments, and show up, you'll enjoy it.

Absolute G. It's nearly impossible to not get an A in the class. Extremely easy grader, and he gives study guides that are a copy and paste of the test. Don't even need to study and you can still drop a 100.

He is the only Crim 100 professor that requires both a ride along and a court date, but his class honestly stretched me out of my comfort zone in a good way. Down to earth guy, easy to talk to. This class was really easy. If you do all of the work, which takes maybe an hour per week you'll do well. Definitely do the ride-along and court hearing before the semester starts if possible; it will make your life easier. His exams are exactly what's on his review slides, so you really don't need the textbook. His lectures are engaging and funny.

This is by far the best class i have ever taken it was so easy. You have homeworks, a midterm, a final, and a paper. You have to do a police ride along and got to court but its super fun. the paper is only 8 pages which seems like a lot but its not. Super funny in all of his lectures and it doesn't feel like you are sitting there for 3 hours at all! Although you can't have your laptops/phones out, you really don't need it because he posts his lectures after class. The midterm/final exam are super easy because he gives you the answers to all the questions! Textbook is not necessary to buy!!!!

Just take his class. No textbooks, good PowerPoints, everything needed is provided. Easy and meaningful assignments, which requires thought process, but not just some random readings. His lectures are entertaining and engaging, cares about his students and provides a good study guide for exams.

Funny and entertaining. Can make a 3hr class go by very quick. If you do the work (police ride along/court/30 min of studying before exam), there's really no reason to get a grade lower than an A. Learned more from him in class than I think the Crim department requires you to know at the 100 level... and that says something. Great dude.

Easily my favorite professor at GMU. Work was extremely easy and he literally gave the answers to exams before dates for you to study up on. The class itself was also extremely fun and even though there was an essay and several discussion boards, they were not only simple, but also interesting. You HAVE to take Kevin for your criminal justice classes. He is absolutely hilarious and his lectures will NEVER make you fall asleep. He can be funny while properly teaching the material at the same time, and will always push you to do your best. The midterm and final were the easiest exams I've ever taken. I miss you professor!

Super easy class, just take the notes, try to go to class, it's worth it (but he posts the notes in case you miss). There's a midterm, final, and paper; that's it.
