He was def fun in class and to look at! He made look foward to class.
very good teacher, was always available and very helpful
Very cool, nice guy. Always available to get help from and very informative
what a cutie! He rewards you if he sees you try hard
cool guy...Not a very good sense of humor though. Sometimes cocky...but nice.
good teacher, and always willing to help you.
Oh wow what a cutie to learn from. Its obvious he truly admires what he teaches!
nice guy but it's hard if you don't speak spanish very well
He has favortism
Probably the hottest guy ever...and he is brilliant. Difficult class though
too bad he is married
Great guy - was fun to learn from and well yeah, sure as heck not to bad to look at...it definitely grabs your attention in the morning!
Fun, interesting and good looking (and I'm a guy!)
So adorable. Has the cutest smile. Class not too hard if you pay attention and do the work. Speaks more English than Spanish in class but tests can be on the hard side if you don't take the time to understand the material
wow...hot, nice, AND a good teacher. a lot of work, but well worth it;)
not a horrible class, we didn't DO much
SOOO SOOO GORGEOUS!!! Study your hiney off because his tests are tough.
fun projects, interesting class, not too bad looking

Yes, yes, yes. Amazing. Take him.
tests are hard as ****...he def plays favorites, so kiss his ass and he'll like u
class is pretty easy, mostly taught in english. he's very nice and approachable, will try and explain the topic the best he can. good class to take if you're not that confident w/ your spanish, you'll become stronger, cute too
Take his class only if you really know Spanish, if not then you will be left behind because he moves fast paced, and his test were hard and short. Voc quizes every other week. Voice Recordings, and lab and workbook homework every night. Cute. Nice. Hard.
Yes, it's true, he's a hotty. That alone makes it worth attending class. But he is also very smart and tells great stories. You have to word hard to do well. Tests can be hard, you better know your stuff and put the effort in. Lab manuals are a pain.
Tests are alot harder than they should be and he does not explain the material clearly at all
assigns a lot of work, but always willing to help, tests are kind of hard but gives plenty of others assignments to make up for the tests, definitely improved my spanish in this class
tests are hard, but not so bad if you study. classes are mostly run by powerpoint, taught mostly in spanish but he'll clarify in english if he thinks people don't understand. really approachable and will help you whenever. nice to look at too! good class!
Very confusing class and set me back in my Spanish. Ok guy, but not menat to teach
Nice guy. Helps if he can. Very laid back class and he goes at a pretty slow pace. Must be lucky.
A funny and interesting teacher. Uses a variety of materials to teach with the class and makes it very enjoyable. Teaches at a fair pace, easy vocab quizzes, but a few semi-difficult tests. Some fun learning games...I'd definitley reccomend the class.
thought it would be an easy and fun class, but he didnt time it well, took too long on certain proj and not enough on others, tough grader and never has pleasant things to say bout projects. ok class i guess, i learned to create webpages

He's a really nice guy and there are a lot of grades so if you study and pay attention there's really no reason to do bad. Just wondering if anyone took the Civ/Spain w/him (the ALL spanish one) and if it was terribly hard? I'm nervous... but he's a really good teacher!
HARD class. He is really nice, smart and cute!! But he presents sooo much material and his tests are impossible! Study your ass off and READ THE BOOK.
If you are comfortable with your spanish and can speak effectively and understand effectively then take him. But if you aren't that comfortable don't take him. He is very difficult and shouldn't be teacher Intro Spanish II.

this guy sux. tests r very hard even if u study. always expects something perfect, including tests. takes a lot of points off if u miss a couple words. try to avoid him, if possible
Ok professor. You'd think he'd be an easier grader than he is. Put in some effort, and you'll succeed.
Some great advice I can give is to do all the assignments. He has a bunch of work that can help balance out the grade. Do those stupid lab manuels and study for the vocab quizzes and they will help your grade if you do badly on the grammer quizzes(which everyone did poorly on). And ask him to clarify because if you don't he won't.
Good class. Helpful professor.
its an interesting class. he's nice to look at. however there's a lot of information, his tests are pretty hard, and what he gives on the study guides are usually not on the test. No test is the same layout, so you dont know what to expect.i studied for all the tests, and did poorly on them. its the kinda of test where u know the stuff or you dont
Great guy, big techno-geek (but still cute). Very nice, a little absent-minded, very helpful. However, his study guides DON'T help with test prep. Make sure you READ THE BOOK because stuff will appear on the test that wasn't covered in class.
one of the most unique classes i've taken, definitely learned A TON.. about a million times more than csis101. if you're not computer literate it would suck because you're kind of sent into the dark w/a lot of projects. but its all group projects, no tests, and its things that are really useful in my opinion.
nice guy, good too look at... tests are pretty hard, different format each time. long study guide, but rarely puts all of it on tests. good class, interesting, but hard tests! is available for extra help. not too much work, but i suggest u read. really cool guy tho, uses the internet and online activities
acts like he doesnt play favorites. somtimes cocky and sarcastic, a little too giggly at times (is it bc he swears hes hot?). vague preparation for exams. narrow essay questions expecting broad answers. stick as many concepts as you can in any given essay question. form group study sessions from the get-go.
hard class. Not too much work, but do well on the work he gives you. Tests are IMPOSSIBLE. So much info, and he only tests you on a third of it. Really nice guy, which is why its hard to hate him. Type of guy youd han gout with and have beers, but yet a dickhead at the same time. HARD class, but you learn a ton.

Gaugler is a fun, interactive, challenging teacher. If you want to learn a lot, work hard, and actually enjoy it, this guy is the man. Drank beers with us after our presentations, fun class, very understanding, tests really hard
This class can be challenging but Gaugler loves the subject and tries to make it enjoyable. Tests require a lot of studying but are not impossible. You learn a lot in this class, just put in the effort.
Class covered a lot of material, but with his powerpoints and class notes it was easy to study for tests. We are required to follow a Spanish television show, which is simple if you keep up with it. Tests and essays were ok if you studied and kept up with work. He speaks clearly and is nice to look at so that helps!
Tests are not that hard, he gives you a big study guide but you don't need to know in depth information or details for anything except maybe the essays. All his power-points and notes are online, is very easy to understand when he's speaking, and is a fantastic teacher who is really passionate about the subject
This has been my third semester with Dr Gaugler. His tests are (usually) pretty easy and the homework is all online. He gives full credit as long as you actually do it. I genuinely enjoy going to his class and he tries hard to keep it simple but interesting.
I loved having Professor Gaugler! I love Spanish and he was very enthusiastic with getting my entire class engaged and working. He made class fun - tests were not that hard and he always made class interesting and worthwhile. Go to class every day, he's very helpful and will go over anything that the class doesn't understand until they get it.
Although he is very passionate about Spanish, Dr. Gaugler is a very hard grader. He tends to make exams hard although he does give you a review sheet. Overall, class is enjoyable but he a difficult grader.
He is such a sweet guy, very easy to understand when he speaks spanish (has a very american accent). His tests are EXTREMELY HARD!!! I took notes, went to every class, studied, etc. but managed to get 70s and 80s on tests. They were extremely hard and complex tests. No homework, you don't really have to read. Not a bad class, he's a great guy.
Civ of Spain was a great class. If you come to class and do the reading then the tests are NOT hard!! He is very passionate about Spanish which makes the class fun. He tries to make the class interactive and is always willing to help students.
It is clear that Gaugler loves the subject and really cares about his students. He is enthusiastic and extremely helpful. I actually enjoyed going to his class. Definitely take a class with him. He is one of the best.
Dr.Gaugler is the best professor at Marist. This class was absolutely amazing! We did a lot of cool projects with technology and even if you don't know a lot about tech, he is really good at explaining things. Do not graduate from Marist without having taken a class with him! He loves spanish and tech, is enthusiastic and makes class fun.
Nice man, but definitely gives work. A lot of homework assignments that are time consuming and tedious. He's a tough grader when it comes to tests, and really makes you work for you grades. I did learn a lot in his class and he's definitely passionate about the class, making me enthused to learn! As long as you're interested he's willing to help!
Dr. Gaugler is a great guy. He gives out a lot of homework that's peer reviewed. The class requires a lot of effort between the homework and numerous presentations. He also gave a final exam and a final research paper. Although it's a lot of work for a FYS course it does help you improve your skills; however, the workload can be excessive.
This class was a nightmare. Very difficult and the professor is not that helpful. The workload is extremely heavy and there is a lot of homework. There is one unnecessary research paper that will take up so much of your time. Overall, if you have an option to choose an FYS class at Marist, do NOT choose Words in the Wild.
He is super interesting but makes you work for your grades. He is a really nice guy and makes his class super personal. He loves language and gets super lost in the subject which hinders the productivity of the class, but thats what makes it enjoyable to attend. I did not sign up for this class but I'm very happy I was put in it. Great Experience
Professor Gaugler is fantastic. He loves language and unlike most professors @ Marist, he is very tech savy. He uses many websites and programs online to enhance learning. I love taking his Spanish classes, he really cares about his students and the progress you make!
This is the worst class I have ever taken at Marist. I can tell you the guys life story and travel itinerary and that's about it. No real culture discussed. His midterm was not fair at all and the class is based on a TV show which takes 3 hours an episode to watch by time the VPN that you pay $40 for works. WORST CLASS EVER AVOID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ive taken Gaugler 3 straight years and he continues to be one of my fav professors @ Marist. First, he is very tech savvy and uploads everything to ilearn. He taught his entire spanish culture class this year through a show, which only cost $40. That's way better than some pricey textbook. The show was great too. Interesting, passionate prof. Take!
This class is considered a culture class, but in some ways it's a history class. You do watch a TV show that the assignments counts as equally to the midterm and final. If you don't do that great on the midterm, you can still get an A- in the class. Midterm and final are not easy, but feasible. He's overall a great professor and very easygoing.
Mans a g
GOAT. JUST A GOAT.
hes cool
great guy
Dr. Gaugler is not a great communicator. He does not know how to reach out to students and is not accessible outside of class. He has an interesting personality, but is very disorganized and you can tell is never prepared for the class day. Wouldn't take a class with him again
Dr. Gaugler puts a lot into his classes and makes the material interesting. I learn a ton in his classes and he is one of my best professors.
Even though this class is partially online because of COVID, I learned more in this class than almost any other I have taken. He is a thoughtful professor who know his material and technology. Take him.
Great guy, interesting personality. There are a total of 6 projects, 6 vocab quizzes, weekly hw's in the textbook, and audio assignments which are not hard if you put in an effort. If you're thinking of taking Spanish throughout college (ex. minor, major, abroad), he will help you make room in your schedule and know what classes you need to take.
I struggled with Gaugler's class early on, but he did everything he could to help me succeed and I managed to bounce back. Putting forth your best effort matters in his class. He's a nice guy, with a great sense of humor.
Great professor who cares deeply about his students. I have taken Gaugler before and will take him again.
I learned so much in this class. Gaugler prepared me well for a semester in Madrid. I really knew what was going on in my classes in Spain thanks to this class.
I LOVED having Dr.Gaugler this semester! He is a great lecturer and is great at explaining the content he is presenting. He is also a super sweet and funny guy and cares a lot about his students. He's also not a super tough grader, though he is not very lenient about turning things in late. Would 1000000% take again.
Dr.Gaugler is a great professor. His lectures can be long, but they're interesting, and he is great at explaining things. He is also a super sweet and funny guy and cares a lot about his students. He's not a very tough grader, though he doesn't really like when things are turned in late. Would def recommend that you take his class.
I have taken several classes with Dr. Gaugler and always learn so much from him. He challenges you but also supports you along the way as you work toward your capping papers. The class was a lot of reading, and the final paper took a lot of time and effort, but I really feel prepared for graduate school after taking the class.
Dr. Gaugler was an decent professor. He was very unclear about assignments and seemed to grade harshly despite not fully explaining subjects in class. He is nice man and passionate about Spanish, however, his long lectures and unnecessary amounts of work really dulled the class down and my interest in the subject.
Dr. Gaugler is very passionate about Spanish and the classes he teachers. His classes are very lecture heavy, but you will learn a lot if you pay attention. Each week, It is helpful to at least look at the materials posted online for that specific week before class so you have an idea what he will be talking about; it makes participation easier.
