Good professor, his lectures are quite easy to understand and he will omit what he thinks not important. But it's still a difficult course so there will be a lot of homework and quite hard exams.

The classes were well organized and knowledge was really easy to understand. The professor was energetic and funny. He likes to give surprises of extra credits and full points. In addition, it is easy to get A if you listen to the class carefully.

Calc is tough but Professor Gonzales was always willing to help. Ask questions when something is unclear and he will do his best to dumb it down. A great Math 104 teacher at UNL. He wants the students to succeed but ultimately it is up to the student to put the work into the class.

I suck at Math and its college so don't expect things to be easy. But calc was difficult but he was ALWAYS willing to help. He dropped lowest quiz grades and his goal is for everyone to pass! When you meet at office hours you understand it more!!! The class was a bit time consuming but I mastered calc very well. Hes clear on his teaching!

Kevin Gonzales I feel will be one of the best professors I will ever have in college. Talking with my peers, when comparing Mr. Gonzales to other 104 professor's he is by far the best. He made the somewhat fast paced course seem more than manageable. In lecture he only covered topics needed for quizzes and exams saving time. He always asks for ?'s.

Professor Gonzales is a godsend when comparing my experience to others in 104 with different professors. He explains everything clearly you just need to put in the effort. I found that sitting in the front was a life-saver too:) He definitely does his part in making the class and lectures geared toward the exams so you only learn what you need.

This was my second time taking this class and it was much easier to understand. Gonzales does a good job of always making sure students have time to ask questions in class. Quiz every week matters and will let you replace low quiz scores. THE FINAL IS SO CRUCIAL!! Went into final with a B- and wound up with a C-.

Mr. Gonzales cares about his students and wants everyone to succeed. He goes at a good pace and ensures everyone understands the material and is very helpful if you don't. He writes the tests and gives you clear guidelines on what to study and some of his quiz and review questions end up on the test word for word.

He really cares about his students and puts a ton of effort into making sure that you know the material. By far the best math professor I've had at UNL.

I liked this class because he focuses on using logic to solve the problems instead of memorization. Although they want you to rent a textbook, we used a "workbook" that we use more in class. I only used the textbook to study occasionally, but he usually posts retired exams to study with. If you don't understand something he makes himself available.

Awesome teacher. I had troubling passing something called the Math CRA at the beginning of the year and went to get help me from him, and he sent me an email congratulating me after I passed. In a class of 120 you won't find that very often. The course is hard, especially if you didn't take any calc prior.

Dr. Gonzales is a great math teacher, especially for 104. He doesn't get too conceptual but teaches you methods to find answers, instead of complicated theories. His class does not have pop quizzes, but worksheet reviews which are great. His office hours are unattended but very helpful. Kind and understanding, but also firm. Would take again.

Calc2: a nightmare. Becuase the class was intense he was pretty understanding with the homework. We still had to do the homework but on things no one could get he'd help. No matter who you take it with it'll be insanely difficult so I'd say Dr. Gonzales might be your best bet. Also he tries to be as helpful as possible with what will be on the exam

Kevin was my favorite professor at UNL my freshman year I hated math but he made me enjoy it again. I was out his office hours every chance I got to ask for help and he pushed my grade .5% when I needed it to move up a letter grade.

Ohhhkaayyyy class with Kevin was a good time. I skipped two fridays and still got 50/50 for attendance, do not recommend skipping. Homework is just online a few times a week and you can use symbolab and desmos to fly through most of it. Kevin really cares about the students and even invited us to his family's Thanksgiving. Cons: Duke & Eagles fan.

Professor Gonzales always has energy during class. He makes sure none of his students fall behind. He gives quizzes on Friday that are usually group quizzes that really boost your grade. The other people I know in Math 104 did not like their teachers, however, I loved Gonzales. Willing to do anything to help out his students.

I had never actually understood math before taking this class. Dr. Gonzales has been very helpful by putting things in simple terms and allowing time outside of class to work with him. Though, his office can get a little full, it is worth it.

Idk how Kevin is getting bad ratings. I love this guy with all my heart. If you wanna pass calc, get him as your professor. He's super loud and energetic about math and makes you want to be there. Do the homework and fill out the review sheets and you will have no problem on the test! He throws a couple hard ones in but its not unmanageable at all!

The best math teacher! Highly recommend. He is very caring and makes sure everyone understands whether it's in class or outside of class. Participation is not mandatory except on Friday classes. Material is not too hard and he teaches it so it all makes sense. Tests are over the material covered. Take him if you get the chance.

This is the first class I didn't teach myself everything. He teaches to understand the concepts and not just to memorize how to do the problems and it helps when taking the exams which were straight forward. He dumbs everything down. I practically have no attention span, but found his lectures to be interesting and didn't stare at a clock.

Kevin is probably the best instructor I have ever had in any level of schooling I have had. He truly cares for each one of his students. He even offered students who didn't have anywhere to go for Thanksgiving to join him and his family for their Thanksgiving dinner. Calculus is tough, yes, but he makes the experience so much better

Calc 2 is the hardest math class I have ever taken. But Professor Gonzales does everything he can to ensure that his students understand the material. He is always encouraging us to go to his office hours for help and is very accommodating if you fall behind in class and didn't get to finish your homework (don't take advantage of this though).

I have had Kevin for both calc I and calc II. I love him. He clearly wants the best for each student and their learning. He is so welcoming and easy to talk to outside of class if you need help. (He invites you to his family thanksgiving). I am in the hardest calc class and online (because of covid-19) and I will end with an A+! 10/10 recommend.

Do as many attempts on the E&P's as you can, save them all to your laptop and then you should not have any trouble with any of the exams. I loved taking Dr. Gonzales' class. I had him previously for calculus 1, and took cal 2 with him. It was a little harder (more material, little time), but he did a great job. There is a homework and E&P (quiz) after every class, but as long as you complete them for full points, you'll do amazing. There's only three tests and a final, so just study.

Professor Gonzales is the best teacher I have ever had in a math class. A lot of other math classes I have taken in the past I ended up teaching myself the material before the test, but in this class with Professor Gonzales I really understood what we were learning in the class, his lectures are amazing!

Never even really showed up to lecture but the few times I did it was because I was confused about a topic in Calc 1 (I took AP Calc already so I knew most of this stuff). Went to lecture and within 15 minutes had a solid understand of what I was doing. This professor is a literal God at teaching, if you can, TAKE THIS PROFESSOR.

10/10 loved kevin. I'd never taken calc before and was a little anxious going into it, but he did such a great job. It's clear that he really wants his students to succeed and went out of his way to provide many many great resources for students. The way that he does problems makes it easy to understand, probably because he's dyslexic. It was very easy to stay engaged. If you're taking calculus, make sure to have him.

He understands that most people don't like math and tries to teach in a way that is very engaging. He makes sure everyone is included and is available after class everyday for questions.

I cannot express how much I love this professor! He makes complex topics more simple and genuinely cares about his students. I had him for 106, but if I were ever confused about topics from 107, he would meet with me and help, even though he wasn't teaching 107 this spring. If you have to take a Math class, GET KEVIN!!

Mr. Gonzales is a very good teacher of math concepts and can make class interesting when calc is clearly no fun. The class is fast-paced and requires a good amount of time outside of class with the homework and understanding your own. The office hours are really helpful. A good thing would be to pass the gateway and the CRA. Test heavy course.

Kevin is a great professor! He makes a difficult subject understandable and always has a positive energy in class. He is always willing to help and is defintely the best professor to take math 104 with.

TOP TIER Professor. Kevin so genuinely cared about each of his students and your success in his class. He is so passionate about calculus so he would sometimes get carried away and speed through an example. Without fail though he would realize and always backtrack and reexplain it. Overall, an amazing guy as a person and teacher.

Professor Gonzales is an amazing professor and a great teacher. He makes an effort to understand and respect his students, and that comes through in his excellent teaching/lectures and in his explanations of concepts and examples. He is patient and does his absolute best to make time for students. 100/10 professor, highly recommended.

Mr. Gonzales was a great professor. I had to miss a couple of classes and all I had to do was ask him for a video of that day's lecture. He was very helpful and understanding. He also made the class better by his attitude he was always in a good mood.

Kevin is the greatest teacher I have ever had. He mad calc easy and approachable. I had no previous calculus knowledge and I managed to get an A+. He is an amazing professor and an even better person. THIS MAN hosts a thanksgiving meal for students without a place to go every year.

I think this professor is very nice. His lectures keep me wanting to listen and he teaches in a very entertaining way. I will say that if you don't go to class, you will be completely lost. Also, while this has more to do with the course and not the professor, the last couple months were extremely hard and I will admit I got very lost.

He was so caring in making sure students passed his class and did a good job on the test. He would also reach out to acknowledge he saw how hard we tried on test and congratulated us for good test score.

Dr. Gonzales is the best math professor UNL has! He really cares, doesn't use a projector (which literally saved my grade), he makes us work with others and encourages us to ask questions. He responds to emails really quickly and is really great communicator especially on raising your grades and like test/homework review.

Kevin is an awesome professor. I was scared to take math before, but the way he teaches made the course easy to understand and apply on tests and hw. I'm going into the final with a 99%. His attendance points were nice because showing up everyday amounts to one full test grade, with random extra points thrown in. He really cares for his students.

Kevin Gonzales is the goat. Literally the best professor at UNL and actually cares about his students. His teaching strategy is very helpful, he goes through each problem with the class and goes to each table asking if they understand. If you struggle with math, he is the teacher for you. Someone give this man a raise!

Kevin is a great professor. He cares about his job and it shows in the way that he teaches. He knows this is last math class you need to take, and he teaches in a way that will help you pass. If you have the option to take this class with Gonzales, do it.

Professor Gonzales is probably one of the nicest guy you will meet on campus. His lectures are very easy to understand and made the class a lot easier. He is always encouraging you to come to his office hours so he can help students do better. He wants everyone to do well. You do need to buy the textbook for this class as you use it in recitation.

Kevin Gonzalez, or as I call him -KG, is the absolute best professor I will probably ever have, and I HATE math. I took his mini session 191 course prior to taking Calc and it was the best decision for my grade, and the best opportunity to connect with Kevin 1 on 1, prior to starting the course. He's funny, caring, and wants you to pass this class.

I am a senior now, and he is the best professor I've ever had in my entire college experience. He is so willing to help and cares about each of his students.

Rumors are true. This was my 2nd time taking 104, but 1st with Kevin. Offers a ton of extra credit, & he's also the best explainer of math I have been around. Calc is still tough so you still have to put in the work, but he's by far the best professor for it. If UNL were to create a Mount Rushmore of professors, he would be one of them. #GOAT

he's a great professor! Everything is explained very well, get two attempts on each online portion of exam. Posts review videos on how to solve every question on online and written exams. 2 homework assignments a week which is very do able.
