Dr Gorey goes above and beyond for his students with lots of extra office hours, extra help on weekends, and providing constant feedback. He makes stats understandable and clear. Dr. Gorey was always approachable for additional help and available for his students. The material is difficult but he is always willing to answer questions and explain the material thoroughly :)

I found Dr. Gorey to conscientious, dedicated professional who works to help his students succeed. He does many of the extras such as making himself available to assist students above and beyond normal requirements. I think some students who are much too imature to appreciate this may take him for granted.

Dr. Gorey is a brilliant professor. He is very passionate and dedicated about what he does. He was very approachable for extra help and he always made himself available for extra office hours. There was no reason to fail the class if you took advantage of all the help he was offering. He is very fair when it comes to grading.

Dr. Gorey is very astute, and is interested in the growth and potential of every student who is willing to learn. I really learned from his teaching tactics of pushing me beyond my comfort level but not leaving me behind. I learned alot about research and myself. I will always remember to use the tools he gave me.

Very good professor, I was very nervous to take his class because it involved math, but because he is so enthusiastic and explained the importance of understanding research I became interested in it. He made the concepts easy to understand.

Dr Gorey is one of the best professor at the U! Keeping in mind that majority of us (SW)are not math majors, I appreciate the way he delivered the material with clarity, without "dumbing it down". It was challenging, however, his guidance and availability allowed us to succeed.This has now peaked an interest for me in the research field.

This is a Professor who made my semester and my year! One of the best I have ever had. He is so passionate about teaching that it makes it impossible not to like his class. The paper in this class is very challenging, but surves as a self-esteem boster at the end, thanks to Dr Gorey and his help. I can't believe there are professors like him.

Statistics is no longer a bad word. I had qualms about his unique teaching methods, quirky remarks and stern outward façade, but his passion for the subject, his professional experience outside of the classroom and guidance through every (some times pain staking) process pushed me to heights that I never thought I could even dream about achieving.

I was terrified upon learning that I had to take a research class but he went completely out of his way to ensure that what we put in to the class, we got out of it. Is extremely attentive to students needs. Breaks everything down to its most basic form to ease stress of students. Extremely fair, loads of extra office hours, truly cares about his students and has a real passion for research.

Professor Gorey, made statistics understandable. He should teach all stats classes and then the stuff would make sense. Students stress about the paper, but if you start researching early in the semester and go see him often then you will do fine. I would rate him as the best, most helpful, and caring professor at the university. An A++ prof.

He is a great professor who works hard to get you to succeed. He has the most office hours i have every seen and the 2 midterms are open book. Just an all around great professor!

Genuine and passionate about injustice and research. Very accommodating to meet with students. During final paper 12 hour office hours even on Saturday. Tests were graded and marks posted in 3 hours. Truly amazing Professor. Highly recommend, in fact I wish he taught other courses.

He is an excellent professor. Very approachable and clearly cares a lot about what he does and the students he teaches. Open book quizzes - that were easy to begin with. Although the paper was REALLY long and tedious. He mapped out the paper very well though and was open to help as much as possible up until almost the due date. Great guy!

Best prof I have ever had! I was not looking forward to research prior to his class.It was challenging, but not hard because he was so helpful. Any chance you have take a course with him! You learn a lot of he is always available to help if you get lost. Really understands his students and cares.

Dr.Gorey's passion for social work research methods really encouraged me to do well in his class. Coming in to the course, I was not excited at all. His clarity, easy to approach attitude is what motivated me to do well. He is a very fair and reasonable marker and his ethics and values in the social work field are inspirational. He's awesome!

Super easy, didn't even go to class and have an 88. He rambles a lot but his tests are super simple.

Great prof. Really cares about your learning and wants you to do well. Would recommend him. Go to class and pay attention and you will do well. Final paper is definitely the hardest part of the course. Overall he was one of my favourite profs thus far at U Windsor.

the absolute best prof! very caring and hilarious! His lectures are very thorough with lots of examples and homework questions (optional) to practice. Exams were straightforward, no trick questions. Lots of availability for additional help and questions about exams, content, and final paper. Super interesting. Highly recommend!!

One of the best professors to teach statistics! He tends to talk a bit too fast at times, but is extremely caring about students success. His in class explanations were so good, I didn't even open my textbook once. The notes I took during lectures got me an A on my first midterm and an A+ on the second one. Do not miss class!!

Dr. Gorey is an amazing professor. I am now in my Master of Social Work and still will reflect on his course content for my research courses now. His quizzes were open-book, and he provided lots of help for the 10/12 pg final paper if you went to his office hours. Overall, I had a great experience, as did my cohort in 2018/2019.

I do not understand how people find this prof hard. I received a 93 in this class. He gives you most of the answers on the tests that compromise the majority of the final grade. Further, he provides ample opportunity to reach out and understand the final paper. Final paper is difficult, but it was worth 20% and you have 100% going into that. EZ.

Best research professor I've ever had! Most SW students dread research courses, but he genuinely made it fun to learn all of the concepts of research. He really likes to review our understanding by asking questions to the class as he goes through the different research problems. He teaches by writing on the board which is needed for this subject.

Kevin Gorey truly cares about his students and makes sure they get the best learning experience in his class. He does not hesitate to answer questions and he provides plenty of office hours throughout the semester to help students out! The exams are straightforward and he provides ample opportunity to be successful.
