He is funny... he doesn't make students read a lot... if you listen him in the class you will do great on exams... but he makes students write 4-page essays about historical events and their significance :(

He's a very good teacher, I actually learned a lot from his class. He takes out the time to rexpalin anything that you don't understand. Loved his class. His tests are based on his lectures, so if you come to class and take notes you are set to go. I totally recommand him.

Awesome teacher......Gives you so many chances to catch up in the class.....If you study for the map tests, which is 25 percent of your grade, and if you do well on the essay you have to write, without cheatinggggggg......believe me he will catch you if you do decide to cheat........and just pay attention in class, you will do fine...EASY A++++++++

A truly charismatic teacher. Kevin loves what he does, and makes a three hour class go by fast. His class includes a map test, (do not, I repeat do not try to cheat), a mid-term, a three to four page essay about history significance, and the final, each worth 25% of your grade. Overall, a great and funny teacher.

This guy is the best!! I hate history, especially American history, yet he got me so interested in how out country is governed; who immigrated here; and what the people went through during each depression and recession. Kevin Grzymala is one of the best teachers I have ever had; I almost want to take his 17A class for fun!

Unfortunately I've never liked history classes, but I can't fault a teacher for that. I have to give him credit and say he is a really great teacher. History makes me want to sleep, but his classes can be interesting (clips, stories, opinions, etc.) The way he grades makes it easy to pass the class so make sure all assignments are turned in.

Great teacher. He actually made me interested in history. Very animated when teaching. Puts history into simpler, slang terms. I only used the book to clear a few things up. Very key to take good notes.

Mr G brings the dust to life in 17B! No snoozing in this class. He challenges you to think and engage with your opinion if you are brave. Best to know how to write an in-class paragraph with some skill. He made me an even better student and I am going to miss him. He cares if you care so if you are up for a challenge take him knowing you will learn so much. Great class to prepare you for the next level of higher education. Thank you Mr. G,You Rock.

He loves teaching, and it shows. I actually enjoy coming to his 7:30 class and that's saying something! He's very passionate and I love that he always refers to shoes.

Really easy class. just be sure to do his 3 writing assignments and do his 3 easy tests. He knows his history well and wants to share that with his students. He gets our attention very easily making us want to come to his next class to see what hell talk about next. Highly recommend this class

I had his class once every saturday morning, and the class lasts about 4 hours, i can honestly tell you that it feels like time goes so fast, its crazy. I kinda love history now, lol. His test are basically like this, if you paid attention to the part in his class where he said "this might be on the test" it was and the other answers were ruled out by process of elimination. Everything in his study guide he hands out is on the test. EASY TEACHER!!! FUN TOO!!! He's not boring when he's speaking, you actually want to pay attention

He makes history fun. He is easy and there isn't much h.w. except you need to read textbook. Exams questions are extremely easy and all are from his study guide lists. He gives you a choice either to take multiple questions or an essay. Highly recommend him.

He is the best professor ever! He knows his stuff, makes it fun, and elaborates the main ideas w/ modern day stuff. His test are easy, just listen to him. Really funny, good temper. If you need help his is completely open to talk too, never makes you feel bad about yourself.

This guy is awesome. I personally don't like history and find it boring, but the teacher has great energy during class and made it interesting.

His class consisted of outlined lectures, small individual presentations, small group work, small essays, easy quizzes, videos, and 3 exams. His lectures are amazing, he knew exactly what he was talking about, made it interesting, and is very willing to help. Just as long you pay attention and study wisely you should do great in that class.

He's a great teacher but his tests are based on the book he assigns. The lectures he give are just bonus. If you take notes from the lecture and think they'll help you in the test they probably wont.

Take good notes on the lecture and make sure you study the study guide. Book is useful, but looking up the information online was quicker to understand and learn. His lecture is clear and keeps the class interesting. He is willing to help his students and likes to answer questions. Exams are straightforward and quizzes are take home.

Professor Grzymala is an amazing professor. He is always there to help you just ask questions. As long as you study the terms on the study guide lists you will be fine for the tests. He is clear about what he expects for the tests. Just show up pay attention and study the study guide and you will do well in the class. I recomend professor grzymala

Kevin Gryzmala is an excellent teacher! I enjoy having professors that are genuinely there for you and he is probably the most helpful teacher I've had in college. He is very understanding of full-time students and wants you to do the best you can. He expects a lot but that's because he knows everyone is capable of getting an "A." Study and pass.

He is a wonderful teacher. I took his class during the summer and really enjoyed our lectures and the material. He makes learning interesting and history relevant and understandable. He does require you to do work but his tests cover everything he lectures on. He makes his standards very clear and an A is easily obtainable if you make the effort

Best teacher I've had yet. Cares for students so much. Teaches crystal clear and to the point. Constant pace through out semester, if you take notes and pay attention to his hilarious and engaging lectures you will earn an A. His tests and work have clear guidelines and almost never confusing, just ask if you don't understand, super friendly.

This is probably the best professor I have had here at mission. He is really energized and passionate about History. I wouldn't take anyone else, he tells you exactly what you need to know for a test and hands out unit outlines so you always know whats going on! Tests don't require much studying as long as you go to class! Also had him for 17A

He definitely knows his stuff. Its surprising how he much he knows by simply going off about it in his head. He is really funny. You can talk to him and ask him for help if you need to. He replies to emails fast and at the end of the semester he gives you the option if you would like to take the test as multiple choice or as an essay.

One of, if not the best teacher(s) at mission. He makes what could so easily be a dull topic incredibly engaging, and extends it to other fields, such as political science and economics, which proves invaluable when taking those classes. He also does quite a bit to help students including discussing the essay prompts for the tests beforehand.

He is one of the best teacher. His lectures are easy. 3 exams and some quizzes. Exams includes multiple choice questions and essay questions. He let us know in advance about what topics are covered in exam and also tells what will be the essay question.

I had this professor recently for summer 2017. Real straight forward class, if you there lectures and read the assigned reading you would get a good grade. Also with the personal stories he gave us, made history more interesting, took with another friend and my other friends who taken him recommended him. A great summer was spent here! :)

He made every class worth going to. I hate U.S history but he changed that for me, he goes into detail that can help you prepare for political science class i have to take next semester. I wish he teaches government class.

I loved this class so much. The teacher was really passionate in every lecture, it made me want to learn history (and I hated history). Tests are easy if you review the study guide, take lots of notes. He tells you exactly what is in the test! I loved this class so much I'm going to take HIS 17A with him :)

Beyond the best teacher I've ever had throughout my entire school years. He really left a great impression on me and made me fall in love with history again. He makes everything very clear and is very helpful if you do not understand something. He is also very flexible and attendance isn't mandatory but if you miss a class you'll miss out on a lot.

Kevin Grzymala is by far the best history professor Ive ever taken in my entire educational career. His passion for history is incredible and makes you feel like you actually wouldnt mind engaging in conversion. Hes by the far the most influential person Ive met to this day.

Although he assigns some reading, his tests and essays will be based off of his lectures. He is a bit heavy on essays. The 3 exams are 90% of the grade. Do not be scared! Worth it!

He is a really smart guy. He knows every date and event. He gives GREAT examples of his lectures for you to understand it. His tests are simple; multiple choice and an essay. As long as you answer the essay question clearly with concrete detail, youre good. Youll have a writing assignment once a week too. Theyre also simple, 2 pages most

He's a highly qualified Historian, very charismatic, and the most easy going professor. His lectures are awesome and a must for the exams/quizzes/essays because he tells you exactly what you should know to do well in his class. The book is helpful, but most of the information is given to you during the lectures.

I loved his class. He is hilarious and his lectures are amazing, even though he is at times hard to follow. Despite what people say, it was not easy. You will have to write essays (they are very leniently graded, but still), work in groups, do quizzes, the exams are not that easy, etc.

Professor Grzymala is amazing! He is really knowledgeable, gives "animated lectures" (full of sound effects, visuals, etc.), shows clips from movies and documentaries, and really cares about his students. There are usually 2 midterms and 1 final (not cumulative/comprehensive). Every exam has an essay, and normally he gives weekly essay assignments.

Mission is lucky to have him! Took his class at 7:45am and I was happy to go every time. He makes his lectures interesting and genuienly cares about his students. He prepares students for all his exams and tells you exactly what will be on them. Take him if you ever get the chance to!

This is one of the most enjoyable classes I have ever taken at Mission. Mr. Grzymala is a fantastic lecturer; his lectures are funny, informative and cover exactly what is on the exam. Reading the textbook word-for-word is not necessary. He also provides very helpful and accurate study guides for his exams. His lectures are the best!

History is boring. Prof. Grzymala made it a really fun and entertaining class. Really knows how to keep students engaged during his lectures. What he covers on his lectures and study guides will be on the exam. Easy A if you put the effort.

He is a caring and passionate professor. For the summer online course, your grades come from attendance, quizzes, discussions, breakouts, and a midterm/final. If you pay attention you will pass. He answers all your questions and makes the class interactive. There is a textbook but I wouldn't recommend getting it.

This was my first time taking History Class ( 2019 Summer ) and Professor Kevin was just fantastic, he's not only a phenomenal History professor but also an amazing Human being, probably the most Respected and Passionate professor I ever came across. I can't wait for the Covid to be over so I can take his HIS-17B in person. I Love his lectures !!

Took both halves of HIS 017 with him. He really enjoys teaching and his students are engaged throughout the course. Makes you write a short essay every week, but it is not hard. Attendance really helps you, but he gives out handouts with the assignments and test prep every class session. If you can take him, do so

I took Grzymala in the winter semester of 2018, literally one of the best professors in the history department. Although the lectures were four hours, he made the class very easy such that you only had to complete the assignments and put in the minimimal effort to get an "A". He is approachable as well so ask him anything and he will help you out.
