I cannot believe Dr. Hull has not been rated yet. He is amazing. Made an 8:05 class enjoyable. He is knowledgable, friendly, and so so funny. Take him! you will absolutely not regret it. Wish I could take him again!!

TAKE DR. HULL!!! by far my favorite teacher at USC! He has so much knowledge and experience in this profession which brings awesome stories too! Attendance everyday and you will need the book come test time! He certainly made the 8am quite bearable !!

Kevin is the greatest professor I've had so far in college! He's incredibly supportive and motivating. Even after finishing his class, I still go visit him in his office to ask for advice on future projects. He really, really wants you to be successful so let him help you! Wish I could take the class again.

Professor Hull is simply the greatest. He wants everyone to do well and will do whatever he can to help you out. He is not just a great professor but an amazing person. Do yourself a favor and take his class and then do yourself another favor and take advantage of his office hours and get to know him a little bit.

Prof Hull is a really cool and funny guy. Sports media was a super interesting class BUT there are only a few grades and his tests aren't easy. If you don't go to class and take notes on every PP slide, sadly it's hard to pass them. I loved this class but I wouldn't take it again just bc of the grade factor.

Dr. Hull is such a great professor! He didn't take attendance but I still wanted to go to each class. He kept my attention for the entire class each class. Tests are easy if you go to every lecture and pay attention (which isn't hard to do). I highly recommend taking Dr. Hull and Sports Media and Society. Best class I've ever had!

Dr. Hull is probably the best teacher I've ever had. He didn't take attendance, but I wanted to go to his lectures every day because he made them interesting. He seems to really know his students and called on us by name even though it was a huge lecture class. I have major respect for him and would recommend him to anyone.

I loved this class! Dr. Hull might be one of the best professors at this school. His lectures are entertaining and he has a great personality. He made me want to come to class. Tests were not hard if you took notes and studied. He also offered students extra credit, and had some guest speakers as well. Take this class if your schedule allows!

Dr. Hull is a fantastic teacher for this course especially because he is so so passionate about the topic, which really shows in his lectures and makes class super fun! If you don't go to class you should definitely get the notes from someone because the tests are based only on lecture. This class really got me interested in sports journalism!

Even though I'm not that big of a sports fan, Dr. Hull was still able to make me interested in his lectures. He's an amazing professor, and he's super caring. I took this class as an elective, but Hull is definitely now one of my favorite professors in the J school.

I've taken Dr. Hull a couple of times now because he's an amazing professor. Dr. Hull keeps his lectures relevant, entertaining and engaging, and trust me it will be your favorite class. Dr. Hull also gives great advice and he really wants his students to succeed in class and get a job asap so go to his office hours.

He left a journalism job to be a teacher because he loved working with interns so much and it shows in his classes. He wants students to succeed and is also a really genuine, caring person. I had never used a camera before J361 and because of Dr. Hull I felt confident from start. Take his classes and get to know him; you will not regret it!

Pro. Hull was the best professor I've had at USC. His lectures were super interesting and even though he takes attendance, it isnt bad to sit through at all. If you take notes you will do fine on the tests. theres only three tests and discussion board posts but tests are so easy!! take him if you have the chance!!

THIS IS THE BEST PROFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD. I've taken Dr. Hull 2 times and his lectures are awesome. He's a funny guy and really cares. Reading quizzes are kinda hard, but tests are super easy if you go to class. Take him if you can, you will actually want to stay all class. Sad I'm graduating and won't get to take him again.

Professor Hull is by far one of if not the best professor in the J School. His lectures are extremely interesting and he's hilarious. You really have to go to class to do well and the readings are very important to pay close attention to. Going to this class was the best part of the week though, you won't even want to miss any of the lectures.

BEST professor at this school. Tests, discussion board and quizzes were very straightforward. Does not take attendance, but make sure you get the notes for each lecture because you'll need them for the test. I loved Dr. Hull! He has really engaging lectures that he puts a lot of effort into. As someone who knows very little about sports, this class was one of my favorites and I actually learned a lot from him. There's a few discussion questions a month and four exams that were super easy if you listen in class and take good notes.

Dr. Hull's class is enjoyable even during an online semester mostly because of his lectures. They are so interesting and don't drag on like other professor's lectures can. The writing assignments and exams are super easy if you pay attention to lectures. Take his class!

JOUR391 with Kevin Hull was my absolute favorite class. I am not even someone who is into sports but he made it so interesting! His lectures even online were never boring. I did have to take a lot of notes but I didn't mind because I enjoyed this class so much. If you need to take a JOUR elective, take this one with him! He is the best I've had!

Dr. Hull is hands down the best teacher I have ever had. One of the only ones who actually care about you and what you think about the class. He makes it super interesting and gives you the experience you can take to the real world post-grad.

The best professor I have EVER had! His lectures are so entertaining they dont feel like lectures.. The class have 5 lecture reflections and 3 test. Honestly an easy A. Lectures have very entertaining topics like LeBron James career, Houston Astros cheating scandal, ESPN and many more.

Dr. Hull is the single greatest professor I've had at UofSC. I took him for Sports Media and Society. His delivery of the lectures are so engaging and interesting you almost forget that you're in class. His tests are all multiple choice and he is not tough at all when grading the short essays he assigns.

Dr. Hull makes his lectures very interesting so his class is enjoyable. Several lecture reflections that are simple and opinion based. A few short quizzes based on videos that relate to the classes content. Tests are straight from lectures so take notes and you'll pass. Isn't strict on attendance just cares about students success. 100% recommend!

Absolute all around great guy. Couldn't ask for much more his lectures were something I actually wanted to go to because if I'd skip I'd probably just be on my couch listening to ESPN talk about nonsense in the NBA. I learned actual interesting stories in Sports which is all I could have ever asked for in an academic class.

Dr. Hull is a super fun professor and actually keeps the class engaged. I didn't know if I was going to enjoy this course cause I'm not really into sports but he made it interesting regardless. You have 3 open note test which are simply as long as you have the lecture notes. A few other assignments here and there, take this class!

lectures are long and you take a lot of notes, but they are very interesting. the workload is not heavy at all, with few video quizzes, lecture reflections (200-300 words), and tests. Tests are open notes. he does not post the notes on blackboard. overall he keeps the class interesting and the content you learn is also interesting.

My favorite professor at USC. I love online courses but I liked him so much that I wished it was in person. He puts so much effort into his lectures, which I really appreciate with an online course. Not too much work and if you like the topic, it'll be interesting to you. The interviews he provides are actually cool and informative.

Kevin Hull runs the sports media department, so if there is anyone that should be the best, it's him, and he is. Each lecture is perfectly timed to last all of the class, but you don't notice the time because of how invested you are. Exams are online with your lecture notes. You have lecture reflections and video quizzes which are straightforward.

I have never in all my years of college gone out of my way to make it to a class like I have with Kevin's, they're the highlight of my week. So charismatic, smart, funny, entertaining, inspiring. He used to be a reporter so lectures are like listening to your favorite podcast and they're interesting and fun! PLEASE take this class it's worth it.

I took this special topics SEC football and sports media class and it was the best class I've ever taken in college. He is so cool and funny, his lectures are so fun, and there is very minimal work required. Weekly packback which took 5 minutes to complete, 3 open book tests, and 1 really cool and easy bowl game assignment. Take this class!!!

He is hilarious & makes classes so interesting that you won't want to miss. It is 100% worth it to redo your schedule to take a class with Hull, take any class you can with him, I recommend him to everyone!!

Hands down best professor I have had so far at USC. You can tell that Dr. Hull is super passionate about this course and cares a lot about his students. Attendance is mandatory, however he makes coming to class extremely worth it! I cannot stress enough how amazing of a professor he is and that every student should absolutely take this class.

Absolutely loved this class. Take it, even if you aren't a huge football fan! Lectures were fun, Prof. Hull is very animated and very accessible outside class. I would give him a 10 if I could. Such a fun class and is knowledgeable in this field for sure. 3 tests were open notes. There were A LOT of notes but they were so useful on tests that I just used control-F and got high A's. My only problem is that he doesn't post lectures, but my class made a GroupMe where we helped each other out.

Dr.Hull is a phenomenal professor! I absolutely loved his class. We did write a hefty amount of notes, however they were extremely helpful on tests. Dr.Hull is so fun to be around, he is very animated while teaching his lectures and he makes tons of jokes as well. You don't have to be a sports fan to love this class either!

I have literally zero bad things to say about this professor. Just a stand up guy. Especially grateful for how supportive he is towards women becoming more involved in sports media. Every single lecture is entertaining, so you won't want to miss a single one. As long as you take notes on the lectures, you will do well on tests.

I loved 391 with Dr. Hull and you can tell he loves the content he teaches as well! Dr. Hull will make you excited to learn about sports events even if you're not the biggest sports fan already, and the way the media reports on sports events was something I didn't think much about before taking this class but it was so interested to think about.

Amazing professor with a clear passion for the topics discussed in class. He allowed us 4 unexcused absences which was nice. Long lectures, but they are interesting. All exams are online and there are few homework assignments. Very easy to get an A in as long as you do the assignments. He also is very lenient with late work. Would 100% take again.

For his SEC Football class, i really did enjoy it. Lots of fun with funny lectures and great guest speakers. There is a lot of note taking, but it's worth it as the notes basically replicate the test and it's open-note. Such a great guy, highly recommend talking to him during his office hours to talk about your future.

I have had Dr. Hull for two semesters now for JOUR391 and JOUR344 and while the classes are a lot of him lecturing, he makes the material easy to comprehend and you will have a fun time learning. Exams and discussion posts will be the majority of your grade but exams are online so it's easy. He is very approachable and easy to communicate with!

Kevin Hull is the first professor here that I've had that has made class 100% enjoyable. His lectures are fun but also engaging and informative. He has great connections and brought in amazing guest speakers. The work is not hard and I found it fun to do. He is truly amazing, if you have the opportunity to take him, please do.

AMAZING PROFESSOR. He is actually the best. He is so passionate, and his lectures were NEVER boring. He really knew what he was doing. Not a tough grader and very understandable. I wasn't sure I would like the class, but I would take it again with him in a heartbeat. Highly recommend taking him.

Dr. Hull is the absolute best teacher/professor I have ever had. His lectures are so interesting, and the first class I actually enjoyed going to. He grades off video quizzes, reading quizzes, and exams but they aren't very difficult. I highly recommend this course even if you are not in the J school.

Never in my life have I met an individual so passionate about teaching. He is the embodiment of what every professor should be, and goes above and beyond for every student. I have taken multiple of his classes now, and every one is better than the last. He makes going to class fun, and is the most amazing person. If you can take his class, do it.

Kevin might be the GOAT. Most passionate teacher i've had. 11 assignments total, 3 of them being tests. Only one assignment a week. uses lock down browser but lets you use notes (If you take notes on computer might have to print or use someone else's computer). all the info on the tests are on the notes so go to class because he does not post.
