His enthusiasm makes class interesting. He is extremely knowledgeable. His lectures move VERY quickly, so you have to write quickly and pay attention, though he will slow down or repeat things on request

KJ is an AMAZING teacher. If you can get any course with this prof, TAKE IT! He is helpful, friendly and very approachable. I would definitely take another course with him because he loves what he teaches and makes you too!

Awesome, get him if you can. He is very excited about what he is teaching. He follows the textbook, and his lectures are extremely organized and well prepared. He posts the lecture notes online ahead of time too.

KJ is the man, ive never had a better history prof. hes clear with what he's asking and he knows his stuff. He responds to emails usually within a coupl of hours. If you can get a course with him take it for sure. He makes history so interesting and fun.

Enjoyable lectures. He often used clips from Monty Python to emphasize certain issues in European history.

KJ is HOT! If you don't like history, u will love this class. He is very passionate about his work and obviously loves teaching the course. He made it very enjoyable for me, partly because it's great to sit in the front for this guy ;) TAKE THE COURSE! its awesome! best prof I've had!

Kevin James is by far the best prof at Guelph. He's smart, well-spoken, grasps your attention and is as exciteable as a child. It's amazing to see how much in love with history this man is. His classes alone secured my history minor. Plus, he's insanely gorgeous. KJ is absolutely perfect.

AMAZING! i have never had a prof care about students as much as he does. He really goes above and beyond to make sure you understand the material. He gets really excited about teaching it, so sometimes he talks a little fast. But, he's hot, smart & definitely worth listening to

Dr. James was an amazing young man. I say Young because when I took his course he was a DR at 28. He was a mere 1 year old when I first attended Guelph. My accomplishments in the intervening 27 years paled next to someone obtaining a PhD at such a young age. Bright Future!

Amazing is a good word for prof James. Knows his stuff and makes lectures engaging. Make sure to take good notes and read the text as he relies heavily on BOTH for exams and midterms.

Dr. James is amazing at what he does. He knows the material, and his enthusiastic presentation allows students to be engaged in the material. Overall, assignments were straightforward and devoted plenty of class time to ensure you succeeded. If you did not do well, it was simply a case of now listening to his suggestions or not going to class.

Made going to class enjoyable. Learned everyone's name by the 2nd class, and became very personable. Helped us study a lot for final exam, had office hours almost everyday before it. Always joking around and making fun of himself. Turned a somewhat dull topic into an interesting and fun class. Best prof I've had at the University.

The sweetest prof I have ever met! Takes time to learn students names, answers emails instantly, expands office hours before exams and essays! He will do whatever he can to help you out. I was afraid that this course would be boring but Professor James makes it very enjoyable to learn about historiography. He is always enthusiastic and clearly loves his job, which makes attending his lectures a lot of fun. He shows a lot of appreciation towards his students too. Kevin is the most enthusiastic professor I have ever had. He was always available to talk after lectures and took a genuine interest in nurturing all student's development. He is perfectly suited to teaching Historiography as he was a prominent influence to the notion that anything can be a source of history.

Kevin is an absolutely amazing Professor. I have never seen a Prof take the time to learn all 55 of his students' names - he genuinely cares about everyone in his classes. Covers assignment and exam material extensively so everyone can succeed, and made even really dry topics engaging. I would recommend taking a class with Kevin any day!

An absolutely stellar guy. Took our class on awesome tours and then to the bar ... twice. If that doesn't convince you to take a class with him then I don't know what will.

If anyone says they have ever met a more engaging Prof, they are lying. Kevin James is an absolute national treasure. He has been at the University for over 17 years for good reason. Kevin legitimately cares about all his students, he takes the time to learn basically all of their names individually. In my opinion, the best professor on campus!

Protect this man at all costs. I would take a class about dirt eating if it was taught by Kevin James. Somehow he manages to take the most mundane topics and turn them into an interactive learning experience that I have yet to replicate with any other prof.

Best prof/teacher Ive ever had. I just switched into History last year as a third year student so ive taken a few years of classes and he is by far the most engaging, caring and the funniest prof ive ever had. This semester had made every student meet w him for 10 minutes for a 5% credit because he wanted to get to know everyone. 10/10.

This was my second course with Kevin and he's an amazing prof. Very caring and tried to make everything fun. He was considerate of how much reading other classes were giving us with the semester online so he assigned more videos and other ways of learning which was very much appreciated!

Kevin is one of if not the best prof in the history department. I cannot stress enough how great this man is, his lectures while mildly long winded are often funny and entertaining. He will become your favourite professor very quickly!

Prof James is a great guy. He's funny, nice, and extremely caring towards his students. While the course content itself was not my favourite, that has nothing to do with him.
