Most fun I have ever had in a class. He is hilarious and very fun. He grades a little tough, but still pretty easy. You have a group report that he makes worth a lot to help out your grade. He also lets you rewrite 2 of your papers to get a better grade. I really recommend "The Jettster"

Prof. Jett is lax in the classroom, and treats it as a good forum for discussion about the literature, and about current events and life. It was the most interesting and personally rewarding class I took this year. He is not an "easy grader" but attending his office hours was a sure way to an A. Kevin Jett is highly reccomended!

had him english 2960. he is a great teacher. helps you out no matter what. he will proof read your papers for you. he is also funny think lewis black teaching english.

Strait shooter, if your paper was bad he would tell you that, goto his office hours and you got a sure B on the paper. Made you work for your grade, but he was a blast in class. Good Professor

Very Helpful just got to talk to him. At first i didnt like him but got to know him better and really enjoyed the class just go to him for help and he is more then willing to help you out.

I loved having this class with Professor Jett. He was funny and was able to keep a 75 min class interesting. When it comes to his papers he does grade them fairly (even though many think he grades hard). He gives extra credit and he is willing to read your paper over so you can correct it before it is due. By far the best english teacher!

Seriously, made the most boring English course fun. The "Jettster" is hilarious. Grading is a little rough but fair. Highly recommended =)

Kevin is a great teacher. Very funny. Grades somewhat harsh, but fairly. Allows you to do rewrites of papers if you want a better grade. Hardly used the writing book but used the mla info book

Very fun teacher to be around. He makes english fun. The only fun ebglish teacher i've had. Haven't gotten a paper graded by him yet but i can tell he grades fairly and he knows what he's doing because he is an actual writer.

Jett is a tough grader and gets off topic a lot, but he is funny and really knows his stuff.

This guy is a funny guy! he teaches you a lot about writing, he isnt that hard but expect to work pretty hard for your grade, he will teach you more then u have ever learned in the previous years of your life, hes the man! take him

This guy is very tuff on grading but dont be fooled by how mean he acts... He very much cares about your grade but he will make you work your ass off for it. He is a very great professor a man that likes to keep you laughing... I think he is a lil conceited but he will definitely make you learn

Funny teacher, but he only gives like 1 A in the class. He is so strict on the grading, but if you attend class he does bump your grade up. He's very reasonable as well and he allows rewrites.

K. Jett is awesome. He's really funny and talkative and loves a good conversation. He's a hard grader but he alows rewrites. I would highly recomend him.

Kevin is one of the profs you can still go to with any little thing he'll talk to you like a person and is passionate about the subjects he teaches. He does make you work for your grade but an A is very possible. Loved him so much I took him twice!

He is a tough grader, please don't let that deter you from taking him. He allows rewrites and will look over papers in advance. This professor is very knowledgeable about English, clearly knows his stuff. Also he usually tells funny, entertaining stories that keep the class interesting.

Jett was fantastic. He knows who comes to class and who doesn't I sat in the front and he consistently addressed me by name and involved me in discussions. He is a really tough grader, so you need to work for your A. But he knows what he's talking about, and has great stories that relate to the material in class it keeps things interesting.

Kevin Jett is incredibly smart and knows exactly what he's talking about. His lectures are more about his life than the actual subject. He isn't very clear as to what he wants, he just tells you to write a paper and how many pages. If you take him, write your papers in advance and GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS! He does allow a lot of rewrites!

He is an amazing professor. More than willing to help and talk to you if you have any questions. He will tell you if your papers suck which is what I liked about him. He doesn't sugar coat anything. Going to class is needed.

Kevin is really a great guy. He offers a lot of help and truly cares about his students and their grades. He offers one rewrite per paper, which most people might need because he is a tough grader, not one to just hand out grades. Textbook is a must, a lot of assignments come from it. I highly recommend this professor.

He is an awesome professor! He allows you to turn in a paper before the deadline and will correct your mistakes and return it to you. He allows you to make the corrections and then turn in a final copy. You should get an A in the course. He barely used the book and is very funny. He is extremely intelligent and knows his field.

He demands a lot out of your papers but he gives you several oppurtunities to make sure you get an A. He lets you go to his office hours to look at/comment on your paper before you turn it in. He also allows 1 rewrite per paper and you have the entire semester to correct it. He's kind of arrogant but I would take him again for Comp 2 if I could.

He is a harsh grader HOWEVER he allows you to rewrite your paper for a complete new grade. I have rewritten papers that have gone up two whole letter grades! I will tell you that he isn't an easy A, but work for it and you'll get it. He has a previous student (Jess) that works in the writing center, definitely go see her. It'll help you!!!

Kevin Jett is an amazing professor. Yes, you have to actually work for your grade, but that's college. For all who hated him, you probably did not put forth the effort and are just mad because you couldn't slack off in the class and get an A like almost every other class here. He is personable and respected. Very intelligent and helpful.

He was honestly an amazing professor and made me enjoy English as much as I could. He doesn't give easy-A's, but he allows for re-writes and even looks over drafts for you. There are four papers and two take-home quizzes. I learned quite a bit and his lectures were always interesting. A solid choice and I'll miss him.

Kevin has probably been my favorite professor so far in my college career. He has a genuinely awesome personality and is what I wish more professors would be like. He loves his students, though at first it seems like the exact opposite, it's actually hilarious. Tough grader but getting good grades in his class feels nice knowing that you earned it.

Personally I thought Jett was great, hes a hard grader and he makes you work for the grade but allowes rewrites. Do the rewrites grade sometime goes up two letter grades. Would recommend.

Hes a tough grader since he was and sometimes still is a professional editor. However, he will make you a better writer in the long run. Class is not always mandatory so you can skip sometimes but he likes to use attendance to give a push at the end of the semester. He is really funny and will talk about irrelevant things. Who doesnt like that?

Hes a pretty good teacher and he gives honest feedback. He is always willing to help you and hes laid back. Just make sure your papers are really good because hes a hard grader, although you can rewrite the papers.

Ive taken the professor for Comp1 and ENG2960 and I think hes great! Hes a very interesting guy and class is never boring. He is a tough grader, but he used to edit and write for a living, so expect that. His feedback is helpful and useful. He gives you rewrites for every assignment in Comp1, and a few for ENG2960, which is awesome. Great prof!!

He was a great Professor! I feel like I learned so much from this class about how to better my writing. Lectures were always a blast and he told the most interesting and hilarious stories. He can sometimes go off on a tangent about things, but he always brings it back to the topic of the class that day. 10/10 I recommend taking his Comp One class.

I loved professor Jett! He isn't over-picky, he explains and corrects clearly, and was honestly a blast to have. If you enjoy English as a subject, you'll enjoy his class. Great first course to take. And to those who say it was "hard" and "harsh" I took this as a sophomore in HS (CCP) and ended with a B minus. (Thinking emoji)

Kevin Jett is one of the best professors I've had at UT so far. Even though the writing assignments can get lengthy, if you put in the work you will do well in his class. Although his assignments do not have a rubric, he clearly outlines what is expected in the instructions. He also allows rewrites, for which he takes the better of the two scores.

Professor Jett is an incredible teacher. He's great at taking kids fresh out of high school and preparing them for the challenges they'll encounter further on in university. He grades tough, but his door is always open for feedback and allows resubmissions on his essays. He gives specific advice on how to improve and that's very rare in Uni.

I really liked Kevin's class. His group projects were very easy, and he is a realistic grader. I don't know why people care so much about a rubric for grading because he easily talks you through how he grades assignments. He wants you to understand the material (grading included), not to ruin your GPA. Very misunderstood teacher.

His humor is very particular but he's funny and explicit guy. If you are able to get on his good side by attending classes and making an effort he will be very helpful. He may be scary at first, but he is very workable with his feedback. He will make you a better writer if you take advantage of the revisions.

Classes are optional but he does take attendance and will notice if you were not in class. Pro tip don't take any of his classes online. He will work with you if you talk with him and actually listen to his feedback. You won't get an A on the first time around on papers, I'll tell you that. Humor is very unique.

His assignments are sometimes tough and hard to understand, but when he grades his criterion are super clear and he doesn't inflate or deflate your grade. If you can write good, you'll get a good grade, period.

If you have the option to take Kevin's comp class, I seriously suggest it!! He takes attendance every day but you don't have to go (however, he will notice if you stop going). You are graded on 4 papers and 2 small quizzes. He is a tough grader but his feedback is extremely helpful and he offers rewrites for every paper. Always fun convos in class!

Literally my favorite class last semester. Even though he's tough grading, his feedback helps so much. Plus if you do badly on any paper you get to rewrite them before finals week. Highly reccomend
