Dr. Kreider is a great prof-teacher of year 1997
Awesome Professor, helpful, caring
Was an awesome teacher. I would recommend him for any class. Is clear and concise in this teaching, and inviting for office hours (and helpful).
By far in the top three teachers I have ever had. I will take any class from him any time. Convinced me to continue studying mathematics. Helpful, clear, upbeat. Enjoy!
Awesome teacher very fair and always willing to help. His lectures are very clear.
Dr. Kreider is the most professional teacher I've had. He explains the material very efficiently without wasting a minute. He tends to err on the side of being too easy, but he will bring in more advanced ideas to the class occasionally. Very helpful and a great asset to the university.
By far the best professor I have ever had. He is very fair and his method of teaching is genuis. He is a hard worker and very nice man. Has interested me and motivated me to pursue mathamatics to possibly the ultimate goal, enlightenment.
Very good teacher. A lot of material in the class and he does his best to explain everything as throughly as possible. I'd take his class above any other professor.
Most helpful teacher i could ever ask for. He really takes care of his students.
The best teacher in the math department, ask anyone who has had one of his classes. Will answer any question asked and meet with you when needed.
very helpful and clear! great prof
The best Mathematics professor at the University. Period.
he was my favorite teacher, his answers were what you wanted to hear, not what he wanted to say (as is the case in older teachers!) he's a younger teacher (a plus i know!) tests quizzes relevant to homework from book, not his own tricks. if there wasn't time for a quiz he bumped it to a take-home to make sure we weren't rushed. best math prof eve
best math teacher i have ever had. I learned so much from his Calc 1 class.
the best teacher that I have ever had in any subject. Very helpful and understanding.
Best teacher I have ever had. Will do anything to help, makes sure you are prepared, great sense of humor, and great at explaining. If you at all have a chance, take his classes.
Great professor. Class was easy and fun all due to his teaching. I'd recommend going out of your way to take his courses. I missed two weeks of class (which was like 25% of our summer course) for a vacation, and he worked with me to let me make everything up before and after the trip, which I was extremely grateful for.
Hilarious. I pretty much wanted to got to Calc II to hear what silly thing Kreider would say next. He is very helpful and very funny.
Great differential equations professor. Great at teaching, and was able to teach the class very well, despite being a condensed 8 week summer class.
Excellent teacher. Explains very well. Loved the class!
Great professor. Very helpful and nice.
He was an amazing professor. Always made sure we knew what was going on before moving on, always answers your questions in detail in class. Daily hommework is always almost exactly like a rpoblem we did in class that day. The tests are basically i giant compilation of all the homeworks. He actually wants you to learn, he's awesome. Take his class
Dr. Krieder is the best professor I have ever had in my entire life he gives great examples homework problems and quizzes and practice tests that are very similar to the tests. He prepares you very well for the tests and wants you to do well in his class. Try your best to take a class with him!!!!
Dr. Kreider is the best teacher ever. He explains everything very thoroughly and wants you to not only pass but get an A in the class. Very good at answering questions and will sit and take time with you to understand any concept. He made Calculus seem simple and really inspires you. I wish all UA professors were like him.
Awesome teacher!! quizzes are from the homework, so def do the homework.. wish i would have taken hime for more classes
Wonderful Professor. He actually WANTS you to not only learn, but to understand as well. Highly recommended.
Really nice guy and very helpful. A gal in my class needed to take a 1 week vacation in an 8 wk summer course and he allowed her to make up the work. I'm usually poor at math but he explains concepts extremely well. I got a B+. Has my highest recommendation.
Dr. Kreider cares for the success of his students and wants you to learn. He's personable, always willing to help and never condescending like some of his other peers at the University. He's actually pretty funny as well. Best math teacher, bar none.
Dr. Kreider is the man! He really wants you to do well and is very accessible after class and at his office hours. He makes a difficult subject like Calculus understandable. A lot of professors these days are more interested in research and less on teaching. Dr. Kreider really enjoys teaching and it shows!
Dr. Kreider is probably the best math professor that the University of Akron and quite possibly the state of Ohio has to offer. He communicates the material very well and will take the time in class to go over the material again if someone doesn't understand. Very accessible with his office hours. Very nice guy. Has my highest recommendation.
I witnessed a classmate who came in 30 minutes late to an exam looking flustered, worried, and sweating profusely. Dr. Kreider asked him if everything was ok. Obviously the guy overslept. Dr. Kreider offered for him to complete his exam at his office. Other professors probably would have never done that. Dr. Kreider really cares about his students.
Whenever students talk amongst themselves on campus regarding math professors, Dr. Kreider's name comes up often along with Susan and Gerald Young and a few (very few) others. Simply put, he's just a great professor and a great person, period. From firsthand experience, the ratings on this website are accurate. Best math teacher in my opinion.
Dr. Kreider is really cool. His teaching style engages your attention. I have had professors who just wrote notes on the board and bored you to death. Dr. Kreider made math interesting. Ask around campus who the best math professors are and you'll hear his name come up often. One of the nicest professors I've ever met.
Wonderful professor. I hope I get the chance to have him as a professor in Calc 3 and Diff Eq! Take him. You won't regret it!!
I wish I had Dr. Kreider for every class
he is awesome. had him several years ago for calc 1&2 and now he's my adviser. he will drop everything he's doing if you go visit him in his office to help you out. remembers student names forever. fun, nice, smart, and good at teaching
Two words: must take! His passion for teaching shows in the quality of his lectures and he's really helpful when you see him at his office hours. He's well liked amongst the students because he actually cares about your success. I wish every professor was like this guy. Dr. K is the man!
I currently have Dr. Kreider for Honors Calc II, and he has done a fantastic job! He is able to explain things in a way that is easy to understand, and he is always willing to answer questions. He always has a positive attitude, and he always says "Good morning" right as he walks into the classroom. I highly recommend him to anyone.
He is very good in explaining tough things in a very easy way. He was very helpful and funny throughout the class "Advanced Numerical Solution of Partial Differential Equation" which seemed a very difficult course to me at the beginning of the semester.
Prof Kreider is a fantastic instructor! His lectures were crystal clear, and so were his expectations of the class. Summer Calc II is not the easiest in terms of workload, but he certainly softened the blow. Highly recommended!
fav guy ever :)funny tallented nice
Awesome teacher. Easy to talk to and very good at explaining in class/one on one. Highly recommend. Practice tests are very similar to actual tests, takes homework for a grade, and bonus opportunities. Wants you to succeed.
Probably one of the nicest professors I've ever met or had for a class. He's extremely helpful if you need the help. Also, he is willing to work with you if a situation arises in that you have to miss class (i.e. missing a week of class in an 8-week summer session). I wish all professors were like him.
Amazing teacher, has good humor, lots of take home quizes, very clear, wants students to do well and learn, one of if not the bestmath teachers i have had
Dr. Kreider is the man. Very good teacher and a fair grader. Take this guy
Dr. Kreider is the Yoda of math professors. Nuff Said
I had Mr. Kreider for Differential Equations. He was the best math teacher I have had. I am now graduated and a working engineer. Go to every class and study. Your amount of effort will equal your grade as their are no suprises and you will learn. Hands down made my experience in classes better.
The absolute best professor I have had here at UA. Had him for both Calc III and Differential Equations.
Best professor i've ever had here, hands down.
Dr. Kreider is amazing. He is extremely approachable and you can tell he really cares for his students and wants you to succeed in his class. Show up to class, look at his practice exams online, take time to do the quizzes and you will do fine. Hands down take him. He is honestly a blessing to this University and knows the material extremely well.
Kevin Kreider is absolutely the best professor I have had at the university of Akron. Every quiz is a take home assignment and they are the same problems as the in class examples. He cares about his students and their success. He believes, "there is no reason to make this stuff harder than it already is." 10/10
Dr. Kreider is by far one of the best professors I have had at the University of Akron. He makes the class manageable no matter what major. He assigns home works every week or which are very similar to the tests! The homework are like the tests along with the practice tests he puts on his websites! Overall an amazing professor who cares about you!
One of my Favorite professors that I have had at the university. Had him for calc 3 and he doesn't have in in-class quizzes. 3 exams and a final with a total of 500 points in the class. Exams were 100, final was 150 and the take home quizzes were 50. plus he gave a bonus on the first exam and gave us all a 1%curve to our overall grade.
Plain and simple, he cares. Dr. Kreider is an intelligent guy, and what sets him apart from other professors is he can actually teach. The time you have in class is a real treat since he makes everything easy and fun to learn. Great professor and great guy! Highly recommend him!
Calc III is not easy, but Dr. K teaches it in an understandable manner. He uses his humor to keep the class focused and cares about . If you have the option to take Dr. K, I would highly recommend to take him for any math class. He is knowledgable, there for you, and doesn't mind answering questions. Very kind in office hours too. Highly recommend!
Great guy, with a great personality. Cares about his students and will ensure you understand a topic as long as you ask. He definitely moves quick but also thoroughly explains everything.
Absolutely fantastic teacher. I was expecting sequences and series to be the hardest topic of the class. With how much he explained every little detail and how everything works and comes together, I almost did not have to study for the tests. He answers all question that someone might have and is available outside of class.
Probably the best professor at this university, he teaches the class in an understandable manner, and he lets you know exactly what he expects on the exams. If you have the opportunity to take Dr. Kreider for any class, I would recommend him every time!
Dr. Kreider is incredibly caring and wants to help his students in any way he can. If you're struggling and need help, he's accessible outside of class and will be glad to help you succeed. Homework is optional, take-home quizzes are assigned every few classes, and tests are challenging but manageable. Engages the class daily and knows his students
Love him, would defiantly recommend.
By far the best math professor I've ever had. Krieder cares about his students and their understanding of the topics he presents. He gives many great examples in class, tells you what kinds of problems will be on the exams, and offers many resources for help outside of class.
Best math professor I've ever had. He explains the material very well and gives take home quizzes every week that are challenging, but easy enough that they help to buffer your grade. His exams are straight to the point and super easy. I had him for calc 2 and 3 and got almost 100% in both. He doesn't use the book, which is nice if you're poor.
Would never lead you astray, never confusing about his expectations; concepts are explained in such a clear way that studying is not necessary. Truly cares if the material is understood, always prepared, willing to help in any way. Hints to questions that will be on the test during lecture examples, gives bonus, understanding if 1 bad exam score.
Dr. Kreider is one of the best professors I've ever had. He is not only smart, but he does a great job of making hard subjects easily understandable. He cares about his students and never acts too good to help you out. best professor at Akron hands down! Doesn't teach like a mathematician; teaches like a professor who cares that everyone gets it.
Kreider is an amazing teacher. Great at helping you outside of class and loves to see students succeed. Probably the best teacher you will have.
Best Calculus professor there is. I had taken AP Calc as a junior in high school and I was worried about getting back into calculus but Kreider made that material very easy to understand. Book was never used although it can be used for reference if you are having trouble. All homework was given as a worksheet and due the next week.
Kreider is an amazing prof. He is a very easy grader and gives as much partial credit as possible. Makes a difficult class very easy to understand and manage. Exams are pretty simple applications of the material. He really cares and wants students to to well. No homework, just weekly take-home quizzes.
Great Teacher
The best math professor I've ever had, probably the best one at the whole university. The best way I can describe his teaching is as follows - do you ever fail to understand a concept in class so you go home to watch a video, and the video is as clear and well said as possible? Every one of Kreider's lectures are like that. Absolutely recommend.
The best professor I have ever met, with thoughtful course arrangement, peaceful teaching style, rational homework and computing projects. Dr. Kreider is happy to answer any questions you ask and always gives professional answers. If you need, you can set individual meeting with him to discuss about the content in the class.
Tough Grader and teacher in general.
(Actually Pre-Calc: 149) If you legitimately suck at math, take Dr. Kreider. He's extremely easy-going, funny, considerate, and this class is designed so that you would pretty much have to try to fail.
if you have the opportunity to take this professor take him. he ran a review the Saturday before the exam on his day off to assist you to pass the exam.
he will spend as much time as you need assisting you
best professor will help you as much as you need
I have taken for calc 1 and 2 and wish I could take him for calc 3
if you have the chance to take him online take him he ran it is extremely well in which you received the material weeks in advance and only took an exam at the end of every week on the material you were expected to learn
Dr. Kreider is my go to mathematics professor whenever I have the chance, every smart student at the university goes to him as well, hence why he fills up quickly. He helps so much that I haven't met another professor who comes close to the bar he set. Makes material easy to understand, is understanding, cares about your personal success.
Kreider was an amazing Precalc teacher for me. He was always willing to help after class, and he was never bothered by questions from students. He was willing to work around your schedule and offer help both in-person and over email. Our quizzes and exams were online, and his preparation in class was accurate to what was on the tests.
The first time in college I felt like the prof wanted me to pass while I was putting effort in. Spring 2021 (I'm comp eng) I had two of the bottom 5 profs at this university. Dr. Kreider kept me here. He presented information in a way that was easy to learn, almost predigested so you get only the good bits. It made 1.25 hour lectures go by so fast.
Dr. Kreider is definitely one of the top 3 professors I've had at Akron. Diffey Q is not an easy class for anyone, but Kreider made it as easy as it could be. Dr. Kreider will go out of his way to help you if you're struggling. He is very approachable, and you never feel like you're asking a dumb question. Definitely take him if you get the chance.
I took Kevin Kreider for Differential Equations, and I am very glad that I did. The examples in his lectures are very clear. He moves pretty quickly sometimes, but he'll slow down or repeat things if you ask him to. He's very understanding, and he cares very much about his students' success.
Kreider is one of the best professors I've ever had. If you're not understanding something and/or struggling, he will work with you and help you out. Grades fairly and lays out the class very nice. Follow his suggested weekly schedule and you'll do great. Quizzes accurately reflect what was learned during the week.
Dr. Kreider is one of my favorite professors in the math department. Diff eq. is the hardest class I have taken so far, but Dr. Kreider makes it easy. As long as you do the homework and take time to study for classes, you will pass. Dr. Kreider is the only reason I have passed this class and I would recommend him to anyone needing to take diff eq.
One of my very favorite math professors. Grades very leniently and the exams are as expected. Absolutely no tricks. He wants you to succeed. Recommended him to all of my friends. Definitely take him!
One of the best professors I've ever had. He is great and you cannot go wrong if you are lucky enough to get one of his classes.
Best professor I have had for any math class at Akron. Take him whenever possible. Easier grader and great teacher.
