I had taken Kevin Leaverton's English 102 English class summer of 04 and was happy to have such a interesting instructor I was glad to see him here at CWU

Nice guy, but so NOT hot. Very boring. Monotone Voice. But fairly easy class.

The class is really easy and he does crack some jokes to make it less boring. Monotone voice though which may make the class seem long. Very clear in all the information he gives and very friendly.

I thoroughly enjoyed this class. Prof helps develop an appreciation for the art of argument. One can take a lot from this class. Goes over some of the more well known ideas of argument, and helps students develop more in depth tactics which can be used later. Tries to keep class interesting, and relates class work to real life issues.

Was an incredible teacher, not only helpful but his methods of teaching helped everyone acheive the grade they deservered. I would without a doubt take his class again. I also had Eng 101 with him as well, again a wonderful class.

For the most part this class can be pretty boring. Lots of discussions on arguments. Few essays and little book work. Easy grader.

Awesome teacher. He doesn't bombard you with homework 24/7 either. He picks some fun reading to do too! I'm taking him again for ENG 105

Great Teacher. Made the lectures very interesting. Not a lot of homework and if you go to class you can get a good grade. He likes feedback during discussing time. Really enjoyed his class. Will take him for Eng 105!

He pretty awesome. Good amount of reading, not much homework. He gives a quiz every week or so on the reading from the night before, but they're super easy. Great teacher highly recommended!

Great teacher. interesting and easy going. Cares about his students. I acturally took him in Yakima, but good teaching is good teaching. This is the one to take. Hope to take him for english 102.

Very interesting class. Professor does an excellent job leading classroom discussions. Reading is expected but isn't too much to handle. A fun class taught by an excellent professor.

Prof Leaverton is an excellent teacher. He really knows how to explain things and is very funny in his own way. He grades very reasonably and quite frankly, easy. He assigns four papers and a couple of little assignments.

pretty boaring, a little monotoned, but decent teacher. the only work i did for this class literally was 3 papers, 2 were 5-8 pgs, the final paper was 9-13 pgs. Then we also did 1 test which was pretty easy. I got away with a B, and I didn't do most of the readings which he gave maybe 2-4 pop quizs on which would be easy if you do the reading.

I took him at YVCC. Good instructor. Laid back, easy going, grades fairly, and not a ton of work to turn in. Some extra credit is given.

Great proffesor. Laid back and helps you understand the coursde well. Goes over and gives you plenty of time on assignments. I would reccommend this proffessor.

Great prof! I took him for 101, 102, and 105. He is very helpful if you go to him with questions. Very reasonable. Kind of boring and monotone, but easy to get an A if you complete the work.

He is a great guy. Willing to help in anyway possible but you have to be willing to ask for it. And he'll have your name memorized by the second class, its awesome.

ENG 101 is simply amazing. Mr. Leaverton always delivers clear lectures and provides examples. I for one, also find him extremely funny!

He's a great teacher, very laid back but strict in his own way. Best English teacher I've ever had!

He is incredibly helpful and clear. I'm not going to lie, he can be slightly boring at times. However, I would highly recommend him. I took him for English 101 and am currently taking him again for English 102.

Great guy who really cares about helping his students. His lectures are at times, boring, but are very clear and to the point. He is very laid back, and gives you grades that you deserve. I wish I could have taken him for my 102 class

4 essays: Summary response like from Eng 101, 2 5-7 page essays, and a 8-15 page essay to top things off. Also 4 really easy minor quizzes. This guy is VERY clear and friendly and unlike other Eng 101 and 102 instructors, he is a full-time actual professor. So he really knows his stuff. I highly recommend him for both Eng 101 and 102.

He is only slightly helpful, but his class is pretty straight forward. He is super nice, and occasionally funny. I would recommend him.

Leaverton is an amazing professor. I took him for Eng 101, 102, and 105. He is very engaging with the class and knows everybody's name within the first week. No expensive text books for his class. He truly cares about whether or not you learn. Very laid back, funny, and makes you appreciate good writing. Definitely recommend.

I think he does a great job at teaching. All assignment's are clear and he gives us examples of what our assignment should look like.

Took at YVCC. Great teacher. Crystal clear instructions. Very knowledgeable man. But if you do not attend, it will reflect in the way he grades your papers, which are easy, only three per quarter.

This class is extremely easy. If you can read there is no reason for you not to get an A. He is very passionate about English and the readings and overall is a nice guy. There are two papers. There are pop quizzes over the readings. They are usually 3 questions and it counts as participation/attendance. Midterm and final are open book/take home.

Great teacher! Grades papers fairly and gives you a rubric that clearly states what he wants on your papers. The only problem is that he assigns papers back to back. But he does give you time to work on them. I love his class!

If you struggle with english do yourself a favor and take this class with Mr. Leaverton. I for one struggle with English and writing papers. But Mr. Leaverton will basically lay out EXACTLY how he wants his papers written. He is an easy grader. If you pay attention in his class you will get an A no doubt.

Leaverton is a chill guy and doesn't make class hard. Show up and put decent effort into the papers and you will be fine. Class can be boring at times though but what do you expect from a gen ed class.

Very helpful, and is crystal clear on what he expects you to. Also is out to help you write a good paper, plus the class is not stressful. There are only a few exams throughout, maybe one or two at best. Show up to class though, he does not post anything online.

Mr. Leaverton is one of the best English teachers that I've had in a long time. His lectures are short sweet and too the point. He is engaging, and I believe he genuinely cares about his students. He's funny and the short stories and essays that we were required to read we actually very interesting. I would highly recommend his class.

Great teacher, made every day of class enjoyable and created an enjoyable way to learn English. Has lengthy papers but only a few throughout the entire quarter so its spaced properly. Overall made me enjoy English again and would HIGHLY recommend for eng 102.

He is really interested in brilliant writings in History, hes pretty funny. Not to picky about attendance but if you go to class everyday the lowest grade you will get is a B. Grades fair and very easy if you follow what he lays out for exactly what he wants for structure on essays. 3 total essays, plenty of time to complete. Do your work rightA

He is an awesome professor! As long as you follow exactly what he lays out for each paper you should have no problem passing his class! He really loves his job and if you take the time to reach out for help he will help you. My absolute favorite professor.

He is an amazing grader! He understands that you're a college students and gives you a little leeway when it comes to missing class due to sickness. His lectures can be long at times but they are well worth the good grade at the end!

Lectures can be very boring, but there is not much homework and the tests are extremely easy. If you want an easy good grade then take this class and professor.

Professor Leaverton is very clear and easy to follow in his lectures. He is well organized, but if you're not very good with grammar then you're going to have a hard time. My best advice is to talk to him outside of class; he is very understanding and nice. I'm sad that I won't be having him for English 102 since he's so popular.

He's a really funny professor when you come to class and pay attention to his lectures and sarcasm. The homework wasn't too bad and he gave a lot of helpful lectures and refreshers foe writing papers at a college level.

He's a really great professor. Not only is his class SUPER easy, but he's a really good teacher, approachable and always down to assist you. Also, in his English 101 class, we barely did anything. You only have to go to class because if you miss more than four classes, you fail.

Super clear guy. Attending class and briefly reading the texts assigned will net you at least a C. Easy class, a must-have in your schedule if you're booked with harder classes. With two medium papers and two easy tests, you have to take this guy.

Kevin Leaverton is great at teaching literature. He seemed legitimately happy to be teaching the class, even if the people attending class weren't so happy. Be prepared to read a lot because it is a literature reading class.

It's clear Mr. Leaverton really cares about the subject matter and does a very good job of making it interesting and fun for the students. Highly recommend taking him.

Kevin Leaverton is perhaps one of the best professors on campus. He is hilarious, knows his stuff, and most importantly doesnt assign too much work. He had a couple 3 page papers and 2 take home exams. His grading is incredible relaxed and gives you multiple chances to fix any mistakes. If you fail this class, it was not his fault, it was yours.

This class was great. Prof. Leaverton is a hilarious guy, really has some great jokes. HUM 103 was one of my favorite classes that i have taken here at CWU. Highly recommend him as Professor. Class was well balanced and not much outside work other than reading a couple times a week. Take home midterms and finals were great. Awesome Class for sure.

I really enjoyed this class. We read at least two stories every week that were from around the world. The midterm and the final were take home. Three straight forward papers. Professor Leaverton gives funny and informative lectures.

Kevin Is great. I've only had him for around 3 weeks now and he's great. Gives amazing feedback and he explains things so well, so you don't have to worry about not understanding something. Great guy overall. Definitely recommend you to take him.

Honestly I don't know why people have said that in eng 105 you read a lot. You don't with Kevin. Kevin is the greatest professor I've had. His grading is great and he gives the best feedback. Lectures aren't boring, they're useful. Genuinely a great guy who is available to help you whenever you need it. Definitely recommend him. easy A.

Professor Leaverton is an amazing teacher compared to the grad students that I had to suffer through for ENG 101 and ENG 102. He is passionate about his work and will be willing to help you in every way that he can. Although, beware of pop quizzes but if you do the short reading assignments, then you should be golden

Professor Leaverton is an awesome teacher. I would highly recommend his class to anyone. He takes time to explain every essay in detail, so that we know exactly how to get an A. He is very laid back, and rarely assigns homework. He's polite and wants everyone of his students to do well.

Professor Leaverton is an easy grader, yet he still gives back decent feedback on papers. He prepares the class pretty well for each essay and test. I highly recommend if you're looking for an easy A and a generally nice guy. He does have a pretty dry sense of humor, and he's a bit monotone, but I still enjoyed his lectures.

Professor Leaverton was a great professor. He was clear with what he wanted in papers. He has a dry humor and sometimes didn't look like he wanted to be in class but if you ask a question he will do what he can to answer it. Overall, very helpful.

Professor Leaverton was by far my favorite professor. He has no problem helping you out whether thats before or after class. He is very easy to contact and his lectures are very interesting and easy to understand.

Kevin is definitely one of the best professors here at Central. He gives really good feedback on papers and his criteria is very clear. He is always open to helping you. Definitely recommend taking him for English.

Prof. Leaverton was awesome! He made what could have been a super boring class really enjoyable. His class is pretty easy, but make sure you take notes cause he lets you use them on tests! The only thing that wasn't so great was that our grade was made up of quizzes, 2 tests, and 2 papers. 100 points total in the class.

One of the funniest professors I've ever had! He has a real passion for the humanities and really cares about students. Jump on any chance to take one of his classes!

He is really great. I thought I was not going to enjoy this class but it is one of my favorites at CWU for gen eds. He really gets into what he is teaching and the work load is not hard. This class is history but with a focus on people. He will not call on you unless you want to talk so shy people this is your class, but I recommend for all.

One of my favorite professors at CWU. If you take notes you'll pass the class pretty easily because he allows notes during tests. Very funny guy, always incorporating jokes into his lectures. A fun class overall that you'll pass if you pay a bit of attention.

There were 3 quizzes, 3 brief writing projects which were only a couple paragraphs each, 4 essays, and 1 presentation. It was pretty easy and he is very understanding and funny.

He made the whole class so enjoyable and interesting. This class could easily have been so boring, but not with him! He teaches very well and all his exams are open note and open book, so they are very easy! Have to read one short story a week.

Great lecturer, really put his heart into it, class does require some reading; usually just short stories assigned, and have quizzes on it, generally pretty easy. There are papers, but they are relatively simple to write. He also allows open note tests so if you don't go to lectures at least make sure you review the powerpoints and note them down

I loved professor Leaverton! He always answered my questions exactly how I needed him to. He gives great feedback and he is absolutely one of my favorite professors.

He is a very easy-going teacher. His class is easy to get through, and the assignments are a decent size. He doesn't grade papers too hard, and he provides feedback on some assignments!

Took his class as a Gen Ed, I enjoyed his lectures and the readings we discussed. Make sure you participate in class because hell round up your grade if youve been active. The class was interesting since we learned about the different humanities per century.

Prof. Leaverton is a great Professor. He'll give you up to 4 times to miss class. We only had 2 actual essays and he isn't a harsh grader. I really recommend this professor.

Seriously one of the nicest professors. If you've been attentive in class he is so flexible and understanding. Effort required is very low, but he doesn't tolerate laziness. Super funny too, genuinely cares!

Literally a handful of 1 point quizzes, two papers, and two exams in this class. Show up for interesting lecture to succeed. Other than that it does not require studying. Open note exams and 4 pg papers. Class is a breeze and Leaverton is truly invested in what he teaches! Great prof!

This professor is awesome and cares a lot about whether the students learned or not. He is lecture heavy, but they are interesting lectures and he cracks jokes the whole time. There is a lot of reading but it is useful and fun stories. Attendance is not mandatory, but the class is a lot easier if you go most of the time.

I took Professor Laverton for both English 102 and Humanities 103. He is a great professor with fun and engaging lectures. He is also a pretty easy grader. He will give detailed outlines for essay so they are easy to understand. Show up, participate and do the work and you will easily receive an A.

Leaverton is an amazing prof and if you can write good papers, he will like you. attendance is mandatory and doesn't accept late work, which was annoying but tbh his papers don't take that long so it's fine. gives you feedback and the skills to write in college moving forward. MLA and research heavy. reminds me of my fav high school teachers :)

the only downside of the house was that you didn't really know what assignments you had until the week they were due so you couldn't plan ahead really. super easy grader, dressed up for class sometimes, lectures can get boring but some where really engaging and entertaining. Take good notes because you can use them to test your exams.

Was a good class but wish I had taken something I was more excited about. I think most people got an A so it is an easy class. I really liked Leaverton and the tests weren't that hard either.

Professor Leaverton is amazing. The class is very informational. he gives very clear instructions and if you still dont understand hes always available to be asked questions, he is very welcoming. No textbooks needed either he just has a slideshow he talks about.

LOVED this teacher! Attendance was part of your grade, we had a book but he posted it online so you didn't have to buy it. There are 3 big assignments and lots of small 5-question quizzes with reading assignments but not too difficult, just time-consuming. His lectures were super fun, and I loved attending his class in the mornings! 10/10 for sure!

Professor Leaverton is a great lecturer who makes the material engaging. The class has a good amount of reading and assignments, but they're manageable if you stay on top of it. unstuck ai proved super helpful for prep and practice. Would take again!
