The best professor this semester. Really progressive and cares about his students.Great if you are welling to learn and put the effort. Alot of reading and anylsis. i loved his class and would take it again.

Mahoney is the man.. Honestly by far the best teacher i have ever had. I always hated english and writing papers. He made class interesting and easy to understand. Now i have a differnt outlook on English. Take this class

He is an easy teacher who grades really easy. He is clear as to what he wants. I didnt do any reading assignments and still get a B in his class. And i get A's on the essays. Take him, sooo easy! you have to write essays every 2 weeks

He's a nice guy. Borderline psychotic about some of the topics, but nice. Show up to class when you have to. Write decent papers and speak up, even if you don't know what you're talking about. You'll get an A.

Great guy. Knows his stuff and leads fun discussions in class. The only thing that sucked was having it at 8 am when no one was ever awake. Still enjoyable!

What can I say he is one of the best. He was very helpful and understnding. He makes you think, that's one thing I like about him. I don't know what else to say, but take this guy %n you won't regret it.

I loved his class, it is alot of discussion and you get to voice your opinion freely. He helps you out in anyway possible to revise your paper and get you on the right track with writing. Must take!

This guy was soo easy. Class discussions were all over the place, but anything goes. Yea, there are a lot of papers, but as long as your not a complete idiot you can get a B or higher.

This guy obviously loves what he is teaching about... he is very knowledgable and sincere. Class discussion is defintely a HUGE part of the class, where he challenges us to step outside the box... I really like this class and learning different views on the world and how we write in it.

VERY VERY EASY! Political,Funny,and You don't have to go to class all the time. You don't even have to read the articles just come once a week as for papers he doesnt care if you hand them in late just hand them in before the end of the semester so if you like easy classes...this prof is for you!!!

Kevin is THE BEST teacher @ KU. He really cares about his students, really nice, and will do anything to help you! Going to his class, is like going to hang out with a friend. Funny, easy, interesting, and just plain cool! I don't know any student who didn't like Kevin!

Possibly the best teacher i've had. He really works with you on your paper, and gives you an opportunity to speak in class. He also takes the extra step to really get to know his students and give you one on one when you need it. Even having it at 8am, he still made me wanna go.

Mahoney is one of best professors that I've had so far. He teaches the class with enthusiasm, humor, and makes sure everyone knows what is going on. He is definitely caring and he knows what he's talking about. All of our discussions were relevant in some way or another. It's because of this class that I chose to major in English!!

Decent class, and a good guy. There's lots of writing on a blog and that got tedious, but then again I didn't always do it and I still got an A for the class. Mahoney is one of the best professors I've had and if he taught anything else I'd have taken that, too. Take him without a second thought.

professor mahoney is awesome. he's the best english professor i've ever had, and i just love writing even more after taking honors comp. it's such a great class. really sparks your interest. talks a lot about current event. great class.

a good guy. speak up A LOT and he'll LOVE you. take advantage of meeting with him. he's not a hard grader but he is picky about certain things. his assignements for papers aren't always clear but generally they are pretty interesting topics. A LOT of discussion, often political. great class, lots of fun

great prof! always willing to help you. I went to him so many times to help me with my papers and he always helped above and beyond what i was expecting. Classes are all based on discussion. Not much reading. No tests and only a few papers. Just a great class in general!

Take him! very very easy class. easy a. and all you do is have to read a little now and then(not much at all, some short stories) like 10 pages or something and theres like 3 papers and thats it. no tests or quizes. its a very very easy class. and he cares what his students have to say and is creative.

Awesome Professor!!!!! Everyone should take this guy! He is very easy going and wants everyone to pass! It is the easiest class but you actually learn a lot! He makes the work interesting! EASY A! He's the Man!

Great professor, sparked my interest in becoming a writer. Probably an anarchist, almost definitely has some kind of rap sheet ;) Take 025 if you can, it'll keep your brain from turning to mush.

Mahoney is one cool guy! He makes class fun and interesting. Be prepared to participate in class discussions and make sure to read his assignments to keep up with them. I agree with the person below me, in that 025 definitely keeps your brain from turning into goo.

Dr. Mahoney is awesome, plain and simple. Definitely take him if you can. You won't regret it! He's clearly enthusiastic about his work which makes class more enjoyable. The class isn't what I expected an Adv. Comp. class to be, but it was definitely worht taking! He's the man!!!

Dr. Mahoney is not only a great professor, but an amazing advisor too. I remember being a freshmen coming in to Ktown, and sayin I would like to take one of his classes, and now I've taken two. Hands down one of the coolest profs at ktown.

Crazy nice guy. Very gracious on papers and in class discussion. Make sure you have something to say about the reading, though--he uses the circle method. Loves to talk to students, though can be difficult to reach because he's busy ALL the time. Highly recommended.

I've had him for 3 very different classes now, and he's always been great. He's really down to earth, and he's really approachable and helpful if you need it. He grades really easy so long as you show that you put some effort into your work. He does talk a lot, but not because he likes the sound of his own voice. It's just a character trait he has.

had him for honors comp. 'A for effort' really applies to this class. i learned a ton about writing and about the subjects we wrote about. TAKE HIS CLASS

This guy is probably the reason that I chose Professional Writing/English as my subject of study. He's INCREDIBLY down to earth. Also not too much older than us, so he is very relatable. As long as you put forth effort and show up to class, he will grade accordingly, and ultimately, help you enjoy writing more. Great guy.

He is a great professor and understands the students. After taking him for Eng 22, I am taking him for all of my other english classes! An easy A if you do the work.

I was put into his class first semester freshmen year and I couldn't have been more happier. Amazing professor and amazing person. He is very helpful, easy, and understanding. He does the circle method where you read your papers out loud but it was helpful. Would definitely take this professor again

Professor Mahoney is really a great Prof. At first he seems a little out there and I felt that he was never going to grade any work that we had completed. He is a wealth of knowledge and a great teach, highly recommend him for Freshman!

Did not require a textbook, so that's a huge plus. He really does care about his students. He talks A LOT and may be a little too into politics (most assignments involve that) but his class is really laid back. He even brought us snacks at the end of the year. Always helpful and although the assignments require a bit of work he is an easy grader.

Awesome prof! Takes interest in his students, gives lots of feedback on papers. Shows a different style of writing (blogging and informal writing), class is really based around politics and writing about them. Do not take if you're not interested in politics, you'll struggle a bit. Really great prof and awesome dude.

Professor Mahoney is great and extremely easy. Essays are done in sections so it makes it less overwhelming. He loves blogging and politics. In one essay we got to write about our journey to KU and another was about our generation so it was interesting. He goes around the room and lets you read your writing. I recommend taking him!

Mahoney is great. Have him for a class about activism and writing, and it is super fun. He is hilarious during class and you can tell he really cares about the students. He gives fun assignments and is super reasonable with his grading. You would be wise to take him!

An all around amazing professor. He really loves what he does and loves is students. No textbook, and the papers were super easy. I couldn't make it to the last week of class and I got an A-. Show up, listen, and write the papers.

By far one of the best educators I have come in contact with. He is very passionate about what he teaches and genuinely wants you to become a better writer. He is very active in social justice matters and will definitely make you state your opinion, but he won't shut you down. I am very grateful for having taken his class.

Easy class, syllabus is really thorough so attendance isn't really mandatory. Only a few short papers. Really nice guy and really interesting material.

Honestly, he's one of the best professors I've ever had. He's super chill and is always willing to help you out. He isn't strict with grading either, but going to class is important if you want to know what's going on. Definitely an easy class.

He really cares about his students, you don't really need to buy any textbooks but I will warn you if you aren't interested in writing papers don't take his class, he assigns projects as 4-6 page papers which aren't necessarily hard at all, and most you usually have an option on what you want to write about. But he is a really sweet guy, great prof

This class was very enjoyable. A lot of student's did not show up for class, but as long as you put in the necessary work, your grade will be fine. 10/10 recommend.

Mahoney is a really nice and chill guy. The whole class is made up of writing but Mahoney makes it really fun and interesting. He lectures for most of the class and then lets you work on your projects. He is also really understanding about late work but make sure that you'll be consistent with everything since there is a lot of work for the class.

I have had him 2 times now, and he is a very easy grader, and it's hard to fail his classes.

i've never learned more from a class than i did from professor mahoney! i had him for eng 347 there's a lot of reading but if you miss a night you can get by with just not participating that day. but honestly it's all interesting & if you care about social justice at all you'll love this class and him. he's clearly very passionate about his work

Mahoney is very chill and his class was pretty laid back. He takes the time to get to know his students and help them if they are struggling. His grading parameters are clear and he is generous in the grades he gives. He never gives excessive amounts of work and allows you plenty of time to complete you're papers during class time.

He makes it very clear what he expects for each project and gives lots of positive feedback on papers. The workload is easy for a writing class. Overall 1000/10.

Take Professor Mahoney if you need COMP 200! The nicest person and gives good feedback. The class is a little boring but you have more than enough time and clear instructions to guide the research process. Mahoney is real about issues in the United States. Always there to help out. Truly an easy A class!

He is a nice guy. Only 1 paper throughout the entire semester. Not a fan of how he breaks the paper down and the way he wants you to write.

My absolute favorite professor at Kutztown by far. He makes his class fun and engaging. As long as you show up to class, do the work, and are respectful, you'll get a good grade. He often asks for class input so be prepared to share your thoughts and make sure to do the readings he assigns (there aren't many at all).

Prof. Mahoney is an awesome guy! He's very clear about what he expects from your work, and will assist you in meeting those expectations every step of the way. He's particularly kind and honest, and will always keep it real with you in the kindnest and most helpful way! One of the best teachers I've had at KU so far.
