Not a very interesting lecturer, but a very nice man
nice person, essay tests helpful.
he is very nice and his lectures are interesting and entertaining, at times.
it's got a nice beat...easy to dance to...I like it.
Fun teacher, fair class, very helpful.
Great guy, also is a great Amateur Radio operator
You'll get his jokes in about a week. Take good notes, class is great!
Overall good. Really nice and entertaining.
Take him! He's a good teacher and a great person
A+ human being!!!
very hard tests. do NOT take him at 8 am MWF like i did.. u'll wanna kill urself. He is very nice but very, very boring & his jokes arent funny.
His jokes are funny because they AREN'T funny. What a great guy, great class.
Incredibly nice guy. Not the easiest class or the hardest.
Considers C to be an average and fine grade. Gives VERY few A's. Has NO interest in his students.
this dude is lame and his class just plain sucked
Amazing man! He is the nicest guy ever and tells the corniest jokes. He'll also explain things 100 times if you need him too. Tests and quizzes aren't even bad. Easiest final EVER (gave us the essay q's in advance)
great guy! so willing to help and tests are straight from notes. pay attention in class and you'll do fine. nicest and most helpful man ever! take him!

Awesome guy! Tells dorky jokes all the time that are so not funny that you have to laugh. Lectures can be boring, but definitely worth taking.
Bad class. He doesn't request you do much hw. But his tests are EXTREMELY picky. You have to study crap that he hardly goes over in class. He gives tests that don't match his lectures.
Very helpful, will explain things until you understand, tests not too hard. some people find him boring but he tells tons of corny jokes, Overall great guy and interesting class.
Take good notes to get a good grade. Reading and occasional quizzes aren't bad. Tests can be somewhat tough, but I still got a B.
Very selective test questions on a lot of material he doesn't go over in class. Questions are rediculous frequently and don't evaluate your knowledge on the subject, but memorization of certain content.
Hard class! Tests are picky and on material that wasn't covered well... WAY too much material, had a hard time even studying it, it was so overwhelming.
When you got tests and answered all eight parts on a question, he'd still take points off because you didnt answer three questions he never asked. No inflection, no good jokes, no fun
You leave the class having no idea where your grade came from.
horrible ..boring...test are hard.... dont take him

If you looked in the dictionary under the word "boring" this man's picture may very well be there. Easy class if you copy down the notes...just be prepared to find yourself doodling in your notebook....
Worst class I have ever taken in my whole life
Entertaining. Knowledgeable. Good lecture style. Quiz questions deal too much with memory of arcane facts which sometimes seem to be out of left field. Wish there had been more emphasis on writing and more opportunity to draw conclusions and make comp
good class. fun times. good teacher. very witty. hes very entertaining
Tests were so hard. He was very unclear in defining relationships and expected us to understand philosophy and his dumb jokes. He is a horrible teacher, very unfriendly and very hard to talk to. He wasn't helpful when I was doing poorly in his class.
I thought his intro phil course was great! The tests were fair, you just had to study the notes he gave in class... I would def recommend taking him
Does not explain how the theories apply to real life in the 21st century. Also - VERY BORING and CORNY jokes drag the class out even more. I took him for MWF 50 minute classes and even they dragged on!! Easy A though...
zzzzzz... tries to be funny, usually misses due to monotone voice. if you can keep yourself awake and bring yourself and others to talk with him, class is bearable.
Really nice guy. He makes fun of his own boringness. Lots of work to do, but the work that is assigned isn't all that difficult.
He is a good teacher and a great guy. He is down to earth and truly cares. I have to give him credit...it isn't easy to teach philosophy...he tries his best to make it interesting.
I thought he was a good professor.... phil can be boring but he does try to make it interesting...tests arent hard just have to study the notes... easy A if you just put forths ome effort! I would definitely recommend him!
He's a great professor with an amazing amount of knowledge. Classes are interesting. His classes are a must take even if you don't like philosophy
Dr. Nordberg is one of the funniest teachers I have ever had. Furthermore, he is an excellent teacher. His knowledge of philosophy and his dedication to his students makes him a valuable asset to the Scranton family. TAKE HIS COURSE!
Very difficult. Took all the notes, attended every class, and still didn't do well. Tests were very hard and he doesn't help at all if you want to bring your grade up.
Nordberg is the cutest older man alive. He is kind of difficult but as long as you READ his assignments and take GOOD NOTES, you should do fine. Try not to daydream in his class because certain things he says or points out are very important.
Test essays not bad but, multiple choice are TRICKY! class is boring and monotonous.
do not take this class. he is unhelpful, and goes off on tangents, expects his students to be philosphers. his tests and quizzes are ridiculous. his jokes are something to be dreaded. keep your sanity and GPA and don't take this class.
Awful, awful man! Stay away! He is a major loser. Doesnt know what he is talking about. Refuses to help you. Very boring. He goes off topic everyday! It is seriously a waste of time; dont bother.. His tests are pointless and never on the material he talks about. Do not take.
Great Guy! Very helpful. Will talk to you outside of class. He's really funny. Personally I dislike multiple-guess tests, but the Essays are great and he grades them leniently. For all the people complaining about how hard he is- he curves- he understands that some people DONT read and dont LISTEN.
awesome. I'm not a big fan of reading at all, but Nordberg's make philosophy like story time and makes it easy to understand(Take notes-big help). Very smart man. Tries to crack jokes, gets a good one maybe every 2 weeks or so. 3 tests & mulitply quizes. but overall a rare find at the U.
If you pay attention, take good notes, and read the readings then you will at least pass. He tries to be funny and everyone thinks he funny for trying to be funny. He's a really good guy but unless you love philosophy then it might be a snoozer with an old white monotone teaching it.
Take notes and do the reading, you'll do fine.
Amazing professor!! Really knows what he's talking about and throws in his corny jokes that are funny bc he is so adorable!! Would def take him again. Just take good notes and you will do fine
great teacher, sweet guy. do the reading, take notes, come to class, he fills in all the rest. studying for the exam is reading your notes over twice and youll do great. quizzes could be tricky, but he drops your worst so no worries! be grateful hes not the idiot they usually put in charge of teaching the required classes
Very helpful. I was like a lost puppy and he showed me the way. The class is difficult, but it is college folks, not high school.
hes a pretty cool guy. funny, goofy sense of humor. pretty easy if you go to class and take the notes.
I love him!!! Such a smart guy and really interesting lectures. Is it wrong that I also find him slighly attractive even though he could be my grandpa

It is a harder class, He does his best to make this difficult subject easier, but some is still difficult to understand. Has 3-4 Big tests. A lot of material to know, and have to know everything, and difficult readings to understand. Sometimes has quizzes on the readings, you can become lost. Nicest teacher ever, but can be difficult!
3-4 test a lot to know. he changes his tests each time. could be essay or no essay depends
3-4 test a lot to know. he changes his tests each time. could be essay or no essay depends
Really nice guy. Not that many readings. Gives little dinky quizzes after readings that are extremely easy. Gives a test after every major section. Some tests have essays. Tests can be a little tricky, but not that bad. You have to love his attempts at telling jokes. Very absent minded. This class was a blast though. Highly recommended.
Nice guy...his teaching is kind of hard to follow sometimes...cryptic notes and no official text book...just the actual readings so if you miss class/have bad notes you're kind of screwed
his readings are impossible to translate. he attempts to make jokes. hes really nice, but the readings suckkk
Boring class, easy to do great, just read the book for the tests, prepare the presnetations properly and you can get an A easy
boring...very boring. disorganized "notes" and no text to refer to if you don't understand his (confusing) explanations. He's a nice guy...but that's not a good enough reason to take his class
Very, very boring. He's very hard to follow, so your notes will most likely be a mess that doesn't make any sense. His tests aren't easy, but they're not very difficult either. No papers. I would say only take him if you absolutely have to, otherwise you'll die of boredom.
He has an off sense of humor, but i f you focus and are okay with adding some side bar things to your notes you will be fine. Just really study.
Had him for freshmen philosophy, makes you think outside the box, had a very good experience with him, study your notes and you should do ok, lost of extra credit available, sick sense of humor.
If you get the chance to take computers & ethics, do it. You'll learn so much about technology and our relationship to it. You'll also learn a hell of a lot about intellectual property law, which is a bonus. He's also a great professor who has a laid back teaching style.
A wonderful professor. If you go to class and take notes you will be prepared for the quizzes and exams. Take his class if you can.
Snore snore snore bring a pillow or your laptop, tests are pretty easy, a little tricky. I question whether or not he actually grades papers or just looks at the first and last page. Overall easy class.
Easy class. Just pay attention, take notes, and write down everything he puts on the board and you will be fine. This year he didn't give any quizes, so I didn't even bother reading the material and still got an A. Rambles on about stupid stuff sometimes and has different sense of humor, but overall a nice guy. Not a hard teacher at all.
Probably the most boring class I've ever taken in my life. His notes are the most disorganized notes possible when he puts them on the board. Somewhat easy tests, a nice guy, but get ready to sleep if you have him
Ok guy, but not a good professor. Very vague on his lectures and is bad at answering questions. Had review sessions before tests but they didn't help really. Read everything he assigns.
4 tests worth 60% of grade; they're either a combination of matching, mult. choice, TF, & matching OR short answer + long essay format. Random quizzes on reading, but he warns you ahead of time. Syllabus claims 4 written assignments and 2 oral presentations, but we're half way through the semester and I haven't heard anything about them in class.
Dr. Nordberg is a nice guy, but he's pretty boring. He basically wants you to memorize his EXACT words, which isn't all that difficult, but it gets frustrating. I took him as my freshman seminar looking for an engaging philosophy course, but it ended up being more of a history and etymology. He also loves bad puns, so be prepared.
I wasn't doing well in the class and went to talk to him and I was able to bring up my grade on the next few assignments to pass the class. READ WHAT HE ASSIGNS. He does go over it in class but you have to understand the material because most of the tests are essays unless stated otherwise. If you take notes you should be fine in the class.
Mr. Nordberg is a nice a nice man and all, but is old and dosen't care anymore. He will tell you some pointless jokes and his lectures are god awful. His tests can get difficult and is not clear between material covered in class and what will be on the tests. Try to avoid taking this man, but if you have him good luck that's all I can say.
He is not clear on what is on tests which makes it difficult to study. Skipping one class feels like a week and will leave you really confused if you are not already. Definitely try not to take him. He tells cheesy jokes and does not explain things clearly.
Lectures are boring. Everything came right from the book so if you read the chapter(s) you'll do OK. Very nitpicky on subjective test questions, papers, and paper sources. Will find any little thing to take a point off for, such as if he doesn't like a particular word you used (even if it's used correctly).
TAKE HELLA NOTES. He'll give you incredibly helpful study guides before tests, all containing things he's gone over thoroughly in class. He's very approachable, and genuinely cares about his students and their lives. Take time to talk to him before and after class. Top notch guy who really helped to make my semester bearable, if not good.
A loving grandpa kind of guy. He was the best. Easy A if you pay attention in class. I didn't read a single thing, despite being assigned it and got an A because he sums everything up in class. Gives many chances for extra credit. TAKE HIM!
Such a wonderful guy truly cares about his students. Made me not mind waking up early for his class. If you show up, pay attention, and take notes you will be fine. Tests are lots of writing but not bad because he goes over everything very well in class. If you get to know him and participate you will enjoy the class.
Nordberg is an awesome guy. His lectures sometimes put me to sleep but he gets the point across. Philosophy is not my favorite but he made connections to other stuff.
This class was made for sleeping.
Generally a great teacher and a great guy. He actually cares about his students. Some lectures can be kind of boring, but that's philosophy for you. Would highly recommend.
I think he caught wind that he had the reputation of being easy and he now grades like a psychopath. If youre preprofessional and need to keep a high GPA, dont take him, youll end up putting more effort into his classes than you do bio and chem and you still wont do good. On the bright side, his lectures double as a sleep aid.
4 exams (3 plus final). 1 term/research paper. 1 book review. really nice professor and knows about the subject. if you don't need to take this for you major, pick a different elective, it was more boring than I thought it would be for us non-computer science majors. however, the class was interesting in some ways, but mostly just went on my laptop
He talks slow and kind of rambles, but if you can deal with that, he is an amazing professor! He is super sweet and very knowledgable about a variety of topics. He is not a tough grader and he is really clear about what is on the tests. The few papers he assigned were not harshly graded because he cares more about the content than the "quality."
