Dr. O'Halloren makes Chemistry easy to understand! Speak in laymen's terms and is very passionate about his teaching, which rubs off on his students. Weekly quizzes are given, but are open notes. So, taking notes on each section before every class is a must, but well worth it in the end. Also, takes test Qs from quizzes! Take him! You won't regret.

He does not hesitate to help his students at all. He loves to see his students passing. No one is failing his class! Just do the homework before class and you are good to go. If you want a REALLY EASY A in chemistry, this is the professor to take at GGC. All you need to do is the homeworks and show up to class for the quiz on the homework that you did! The only way to really fail this class is not show up and not do any of the homework. TAKE HIM!

He is very helpful. I thought I was going to have a problem learning it but he made us see it in a way that was clear! He goes at a slower pace and is willing to go over any questions you have as many times as you need. I will be taking him for 1212 as well! TAKE HIM!

Honestly, he is a GREAT professor. He is genuinely interested in helping his students to succeed! But make sure to do your homework and class problems before his "exams"! I took him for both Chem 1211 & Chem 1212. As long as you are in class and takes notes you will be fine. Ask him questions if you do not understand he is very good at explaining things. I actually understood and liked Chem because of him. TAKE HIM HE IS A GREAT PROFESSOR!!!

The best CHEMISTRY PROFESSOR EVER! We had only quizzes and labs. The class is a guaranteed A if you do what you are suppose to do. I am a science major/pre-med student and I have to say his class does not prepare you great for the MCAT. His class covers the the bear essentials and alittle bit more. However if you want an A, take his class.

The hands down best professor I have had. He clearly knew all the material inside and out and helped us not only learn the material but apply it as well. I do highly recommend taking this class if you want to retain information and get an easy A at the same time!

Great teacher! cuts out all the extra crap that isn't needed to pass the class and confuse the students, gives you more than enough chances to make sure you pass the class with a high grade, and he's just a nice guy. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

BEST science professor. Very good instructor. Mondays/wednesday you learn new material and Fridays you review and take a quiz. Quizes are easy if you read the book. hw is optional. only tests are midterm and finals. labs are easy. Theres no reason not to get an A. Also he very willing to help. Chill guy, take him!

Dr. O'Halloran is a very clear professor. He really cares about his students and how well they learn. That being said,his class is not easy at Emory. He is definitely very fair in all his exams but you WILL NOT do well if you do not do all the the assigned and even extra practice problems. Do the problems in each chapter. Read on your own as well

O'Halloran is significantly harder at Emory. He was slightly better for 141 only because he actually explained concepts, but even in 142 he makes you do a lot of practice problems and does a lot of them in class as well. His tests are hard but he teaches you all the material that will be on the exam. You have to practice and apply his teachings.

Skins through finer details that are in the book but covers the key concepts in class. Up to you to read to understand the finer details. Also do much more than his homeworks, as his tests are fair but will give you a challenge.

Dr. O'Halloran was a really great professor. He tries to make the information as straightforward as possible and his tests are what you would expect and not tricky. You need to study of course and practice the problems on your own.

PICK HIM!! By far the best professor! My mentor sucks but he has stepped in outside of class to help me with my other courses! Truly wants everyone to succeed! Very organized and clear.. Always helpful, lets you use index card with notes on exams but final no card.. people still managed to fail the exams which means they didn't read material. You still have to read material but definitely would take again.. Awesome Professor!

Study this class is not a joke I don't know why the level of difficulty is 1.7 because its not. He is a good teacher and cares for his students. He gives a lot of extra credit opportunity so take advantage of it. Attendance is not mandatory except for labs but you're only hurting yourself if you don't show up to class

Dr. Halloran is the best Chemistry professor I ever had. He is nice and his lecture is amazing. He will do everything to help you with your assignments and during lab too. All the homework is on Pearson, so make sure you do it because he also give extra credits along with your homework too. I would recommend him for everyone.

AMAZING teacher. I took Dr.O for Orgo I. I took another teacher (Dr. Lee) last semester and had to withdrawl bc he was horrible. This semester I tried again with Dr. O and got an A. He cares about you doing well and getting the material. He does things other professors don't do to help. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN! I wish he was teaching Orgo II.

Literally the nicest prof ever. He expects you to read the textbook however if you come to class everyday it's not necessary. Tests are short and all MC and one free response. There are practice exams on D2L that are extremely helpful. He will help if you ask!!! Very caring, he wants all his students to exceed.

Pretty okay professor. He doesn't lecture at all despite calling it a lecture, you have a worksheet day, and a guided worksheet day. You pretty much have to teach yourself on top of studying, which is actually refreshing for more independent students, but bad for those who require guidance. He is very accessible too.

i'm so glad i had o'halloran for my first semester in college. he cares a lot about his students and genuinely wants everyone to succeed in life. homework is from a free online textbook, not stressful if you do a few problems everyday. there are optional practice exams on d2l very similar to the actual exam, which can be useful for studying.

THE BEST CHEM PROFESSOR I've EVER HAD! He's a very caring professor. The lecture is solving some chemistry problems with him, which means you can't get sleep during class. There are 4 or 5 mini exams per 3 weeks, but it's not really difficult. He's a great explainer so even if you're bad at chemistry, you can definitely follow the class.

He is a great professor. He is very understanding and caring and honestly wants you to do your best. Although attendance is not mandatory, I recommend to show up for every class. Don't fall behind. There is also some class work like kahoot and board work that count for a grade. Make sure to show up for every lab as well!

He is one of my favorite teachers this semester (fall2022) I RECOMMEND taking his class for chem1151K he is one of the best out here. We had (3 test) light grader and very fair. Weekly HW online, pretty easy. Just get together with your classmates and create a study group!!! That really helped me. But overall take his class!

I loved Professor O'Halloran !!! He was so nice and understanding, I wish he was teaching Chem 1212K. He puts up practice exams for each exam except the last one and it really helped when studying. Professor O'Halloran was a magnificent professor!! He was always open to any questions, and also helped us on material that we didn't understand. This course was a challenge with what was taught, as this subject is not meant to be a breeze. All the material was interesting to learn about though. We had 5 Tests in total, but they were short.

If you fail this class, you're not a good student.

coming into this class, i thought I'd struggle so bad but that wasn't the case at all. i gained a thorough understanding of the material thanks to him. and he teaches so well. loved this class so much it made me think of declaring a minor in this stuff and i did not see that coming at all. His labs are easy and fun just make sure you are actively doing the labs and not just watching. He is very lenient and cares about you more than just chemistry, great guy

This professor is very caring and prepares for success. He set up everything online so that you have access to it. If you have questions ask, he's very willing to answer and explain over and over again. He is a timid guy speak low. My only concern was that labs were not always set up properly and he was a little late majority of the time.
