Professor Rutherford is hard, but he's an excellent teacher. He explains everything in a way that you and relate to and that makes it easy to understand. A lot of professors don't do that.

Although the class was challenging at times, I believe it's not all the professors fault on the grade students make. We also have to put the time and effort just as they do. I believe he did a great job, lab was really interesting. You have to have enough determination to pass this class, and tons and tons of prayers!

Mr. Rutherford was a tough teacher, only because he expects excellence from his students...I enjoyed his class!

Expect to have "no life" if you want to do well in this class, but that's the way ALL A/P classes should be. If you are going into the medical field, I don't want you touching me unless you know your stuff. Rutherford is a good teacher. He tells you EXACTLY what will be on the tests ! It's up to you to study...

Took AP2 during summer II session so I lived & breathed AP. Test reviews are helpful, but will not do well if that's all you study. Quizzes are viscious, Final was tough. I did very well with a whole lot of focus and effort- it is a must to succeed in this class. Professor Rutherford is demanding, but I believe he really cares!

Sad to be done. Again, great professor, for other negative comments left by other students, they were the ones that didnt put effort in and figured he would be lenient. This professor is great. He helped you if you needed it.Gave extra credit, that you had to work for of course. A shame that he doesnt teach any other classes. Awesome teacher!

A&P is a very difficult class. What makes a class is when you have a professor who is good at teaching and who also adds a little humor from time to time in his teachings. When I had questions or concerns they were always answered very quickly. I always knew where I stood in the class as far as my grade because he was very prompt with his grading.

Seemed to have a genuine concern for teaching the students. Tried to make the lessons as fun and interesting as possible. Dose do ALL his quiz's and final exam on line on campus. For some reason this seemed to make them very hard. Few people in my class passed his quiz's. Over all an excellent instructor quick to reply to e-mails.

Even though A&P is extremely hard, Mr. Rutherford made an effort to make it as easy as possible and really dumbed it down for us to understand. He was a great help! I really wish I had put in more effort at the beginning of the semester to have a good grade.

Prof. Rutherford gets an A+. He is an excellent teacher that genuinely cares and made sure his class learned the material we needed. He invented "cards of knowledge" which required us to pay attention in class & answer questions when our name came up. He was extremely easy to reach via email or in person and always ready to help! I had Rutherford for Intro and A&P II. He has a way of making things stick. Through the LVN program I recalled much of what Rutherford had taught me. You have to stay on top and read ahead but if your going into the science field, he is great at what he does. Don't miss class. Go in wanting an A and again, read before class.

Dr. Rutherford is very knowledgeable. I took his lab class & really enjoyed learning from him. He is fast pace so it helps to read ahead before class. His test are designed to be hard, but overall it makes you work harder to learn the material. I suggest you take this class while taking easier courses because it requires lots of study time!

Dr. Rutherford is a good professor! Yes, it is a very hard class and requires a lot of effort; but he does give you test reviews that have everything you need to know to do well on his tests. It's up to you to study and put forth the effort. He responds quickly to emails and any questions you may have. Overall I give him an A+!

Dr. Rutherford is a wonderful professor. He really knows the material he's teaching. I appreciate that he gives real world examples and memory tricks to help with retaining the overwhelming amount of information presented. Pay attention, ask for help as soon as you begin to struggle, STUDY HARD and you'll do fine.

A&P II is a difficult class to take online, especially during the summer, given you only have 4 weeks to cram all of the information required, however Dr. Rutherford is an excellent teacher, who knows his subject matter and will always make time to assist any student who needs him. He is very prompt in responding to emails and posting grades.

These classes are not for the faint hearted!! They are tough and time consuming. That being said, take advantage of the "free tutoring" sessions offered by Dr. Rutherford!! He is a great professor, and is willing and available to help...

I took this class as a 4 week course during the summer. Dr. Rutherford was extremely helpful and encouraging. It is very important that you take time to study the notes and reviews that he provides his students with outside of class. Overall he was a great teacher.

Dr. Rutherford is a great teacher! You really have to study and come to class prepared to take notes! Print your study guides and take his advice on how to pass his class!

Good teacher. He gives good study guides and tells you what will be the fill in blank, essay questions, and scantron so you can be specific about how you study. He will deduct points if you don't spell out an entire word or like put the & symbol for and. He will help if you need it. If you have a question ask. A's are possible just study hard

I absolutely loved Dr. Rutherford. He was very helpful. He makes learning fun and has lots of corny jokes, which I thought were funny. Tells you exactly what is on the test and gives you the fill in the blank answers. Just be on time, take notes, pay attention, and you'll be fine!

His lectures tend to run a little long on some subjects. He can turn a page of notes that should only take 5 minutes to run through into a 20 minute tedious torture fest. He's a good professor though. He encourages questions and his exams are somewhat tough, but if you study and stick with the study guide, you'll pass. I would take him again.

A&P 1 is said to be the hardest class on campus. Dr. Rutherford made it much easier to understand and remember. If there was something that I didn't understand all I ever had to do was ask him and he would help me. He is also excellent at letting his students know what material is going to be on his exams. He is an outstanding professor.

DR. Rutherford was not a good lab teacher he would give you all this to study and then tell you to look in canvas for the rest, in canvas there was so many files of all kind you didn't know what to study,

Definitely a tough professor, but he gives you everything you need to pass. You have to do the work and put in the study time, if you do your part you should pass!! Taking him for a&p 2 as well . He really is a great professor and he wants his students to succeed.

This was my first time back in college in over 7+ years. I heard he was a tough professor, but he gives you everything to succeed you just have to put in the effort. Its not easy but he is always available for questions. Some of his little tips to remember things really work. Show up to class, read the chapters and his notes and you got this.

You have to show up, participate, and study! You have to be prepared to put in the work or you will not pass. He gives great notes. He tells you exactly how you can pass his class. He was very encouraging, answered all questions no matter how dumb or how many times you asked, lots of free tutoring hours, returned calls and emails quickly.

At the beginning of my first semester at Panola Dr. Rutherford stated in A&P I that he is considered the hardest instructor on campus, I knew then that I was in the right class! I made it out of his class with a C. I decided to take him for A&P II because I wanted the challenge. I SURVIVED!!

I enjoyed his Class. Although I was challenged to learn A and P, my biggest accomplishment was learning to write and cite a research paper. He's an awesome teacher. I love that you can always get a response from him WHENEVER. He has positive feed back. I feel, he cares about the students and encorauges them to succeed. Everything is EARNED!

Dr. Rutherford is a great professor. He gives good life examples to help students understand information. His tests are harder because there is fill in the blank so students have to study hard, but it helps the overall grade in the end.

Ranks high among my favorite profs. Provides great chapter notes in searchable .pdf so no writer's cramp. Encourages questions & class participation. Ready to help outside of class. Complete review sheets for exams that are challenging, but lots of bonus questions. Ample opportunity to boost grades with non-exam work. Awesome sense of humor.

Dr. Rutherford is the best professor I have ever had, he is amazing! He is tough, however, you will know A&P when you walk out of his class. As long as you do your job as a student, you will do good in his class! I feel so much more confident applying for nursing school having had Dr. Rutherford!!

Rutherford grades tough but helps you out if you need him. Helps understand more of the subject and important stuff that will be on the practical or exam.

Great guy and great teacher took him for a&p1 and 2 last winter and this past spring. Teaches very well and as long as you are attentive and pay attention you stand a stronger chance at passing. He told us at the Begining of the semester my students graduate; And that could not be more true, due to how well he covers the material.

Dr. RUTHERFORD makes lectures very interesting and he is quite entertaining. He provides EVERYTHING you need to succeed but he doesn't just give you the grade; you've got to do your work. He is always available. He does small things that really go far in showing he is a genuine and passionate teacher. I would take him again in a heartbeat. Chad

He is a genuine guy with great teaching habits and amazing lectures. That being said you will have to work for your grade, nothing in life comes without work. He is also a tough grader, there is no handout points in his class. I would take him again without hesitation, he was very big influence towards reaching my goals. A support in & out of class

I took A&P 1 as an online course in summer 1, I had four exams & a final. Dr. Rutherford did his best to provide us w/ very helpful study guides for exams. His exams require an essay question, fill-in-the-blanks, matching, true/false & multiple choice. He's very specific in his reviews & it all shows up on the exams. I made A's on all exams.

Classes may be tough, but theyre definitely worth taking. Students will learn more through Dr. Rutherfords classes than any other and thats not a hyperbole. Very cool and hilarious.

To do well, read the text and do the exercises before lab. Dr. R. provides videos, study guides, and practice materials for you, so take advantage of them. Practice lab is nearly always open, so take advantage of that. Tough grader, but fair. Cares about student success.

Dr. Rutherford was super helpful. One of my favorite professors i've had. Always quick to respond to emails and has no problem meeting to talk about things. At the same time he expects you to do the work. Overall great professor who KNOWS HIS STUFF.

I took AP1 & AP2 lab with Dr. Rutherford and I enjoyed and learned a lot on both semesters. He explains everything, and if you have any questions, hes the person to go to.

I have issues with focusing during most lectures even on my favorite topics, but he uses humor in his lessons and also explains things in a way that you can understand and that helped to keep me on track. I thought that I knew how to study before entering these courses but I was wrong and learned what was best for me during his free tutoring.

I took Dr. Rutherford's class for both A&P I & II by choice. He is a tough grader, but very fair. He gives you all the material you need to succeed, is available outside class and always responds promptly to emails. He provides current applicable examples relevant to the topics studied in lectures. You will earn your grade and grow in confidence!

Dr. Rutherford is a hard professor and teaches an extremely challenging class, but he does it very well. He is very exam-oriented, and not an easy grader, but he provides ample amounts of study materials to ensure you are prepared for his tests. He is always there for his students and prepared to provide feedback when needed.

Typical amount of college work. Always willing to help when needed. He allows you to use two sheets of paper with notes on the proctored exams. Awesome class.

I didnt think I would passed A&P, without DR. Rutherford teaching skills and patience it wouldve not happened. Dropped out in the 10th grade, so it has been 15 years since I have been in school. I was nervous about the difficulty of the class, since it had been so long but the professor is great and knows his material. Making a transition easy!!!

His class is in no way easy, but he made the material much easier to understand and his little side comments cracked me up and kept me entertained (especially when the material was turning the room into a snooze fest). i personally loved having dr rutherford in class. his review sheets for exams are a lot but you get the hang of it. you *have* to pay attention in lecture to pass. he also gives you super helpful study guides for lab. the work you put into this class is what youre going to get out of it. *go to office hours! he will help you*

I took Dr. Rutherfords 4.5 week A&P class online and have to say the lecture videos he posts are EXTREMELY helpful! Overall, I really enjoyed the class and hate that I wont have him for A&P II.

He definitely is one of my best professors. He always got back to you almost immediately when you had a question. Did the most he could for you to understand his lectures. Definitely would take him again !

Dr. Rutherford's lectures are great! He uses analogies that make topics easy to remember. His course is very test heavy, however he provides review guides and he records lectures that make studying easier. He is prompt in answering emails and offers tutoring if needed. This class is not impossible, you just have to put in the time.

A&P is a difficult subject to learn and Dr. Rutherford expects a lot from his students, but by the end of the course, you really know the material. Be prepared to work very hard and you will be able to pass the course!

Honestly, he is the best teacher I have had. He really wants you to learn the material and succeed. He is so helpful and encouraging and I would definitely take his class again. I had him for intro to A&P, A&P 1, and A&P2! You will have to work hard and study but he prepares you for your program 100%. So thankful I took his class!

Dr. Rutherford was an amazing professor, definitely taking his course again if needed. Very encouraging, always available if needed, and his course is easy to follow. This course itself was really hard but you just have to apply yourself and study. He's relatable, sometimes funny and he makes the lecture interesting including everyday life.

I took his Anatomy and Physiology 1 and his A&P 2 lab. He is a good teacher and tells you what to be prepared on. You will not pass by not looking at notes or reading. The trick to passing his lab is to do flashcards with the study guide he gives you. His lecture notes are helpful and online videos help

Dr. Rutherford is an amazing teacher! I really enjoyed his lectures and he provides excellent study guides that are very helpful! He is also very quick to respond when reaching out to him which I greatly appreciated. Would recommend taking him for A&P1!!

You will learn a lot in Dr. Rutherford's classes. His grading criteria and modules are laid out very clear. Show up, study, and try your best is my advice.
