Good teacher. class is not too hard. just need to follow the notes and study guides to pass the class. final paper at the end of the semester. paper might be the hardest part in the class!

Dr. Smith is a diligent and conscientious instructor who strives to make the class meaningful for the students. His grading is eminently fair. This class could be much more difficult in the hands of a less effective instructor.

Loved this class. It was my favorite class, i looked forward going to this class in the morning. Hes a great teacher! You know he loves teaching, he gets you into the subject! Just follow your notes, go to class everyday and do the exam preps. Easy class, just dont lag on the essay due at the end of the semester

Wow...what can I say about Dr.Smith. He is by far one of the most intelligent individuals I have come in contact with. His class is extremely informative and very interesting. I missed only one day the entire semester. I'm very much looking forward to taking his Bio Psych class. Trust me if you're taking psych take Smith, he's awesome!

Dr. Smith is a fantastic professor! His lectures are all well done straight from the book on a powerpoint and he tries to make the class fun. The homework assignments are out of the ordinary but are very appropriate for the subject and are pretty fun. He gives detailed study guides for tests so just study well and you'll do fine.

He is an amazing teacher!! He is interesting and fun. You do not use the book at all in class all it is are notes that he gives you. Simple just need to attend every class cuz you never know when you get a quiz. I highly recommend him!!! Loved this class!

Dr.Smith is a very intellegent man.He is super organized and loves what he teaches.I took his winter session class. He gives random quizes, multiple choice & a few short answer question on exams. Powerpoint lectures, fill in the blank notes and provide study sheet. Do all the homework and MUST DO THE FINAL PAPER!! He is my favorite Doctor!!

This is very professional professor. He is not an easy teacher you are going to accually earn your grade. However, if you ever get stuck on any subject, he is always there to explain it till you get it. He is punctual and organized. He does not alow any talking or texting very striked on that. It is disrespectful. He is awesome. Highly recommended.

Dr. Smith is a very professional professor, who is very fair when it comes to grades. His class was extremely enjoyable. Just show up for every class, study for his exams, and do the homework. He does have pop quiz's, but he usually warns you before-hand. He's funny and hot too. :) He is very helpful. He answers his e-mail quickly!

Very well organized- got papers back the next class with comments; exam scores were posted within a day or so. He was always willing to help in office hours; I was the only one there though. If you put the effort into this class (which was tough) he was there to help with the grde.

Dr. Smith is quite incredible and a young Ph.D of neural psychology. This is a class you must repect the vast knowledge of learning about biology of the brain and CNS. Your grade is what you earn, you get virtually no extra credit. This class is difficult and challenging because the neuralbiology is complex. He is best for this teaching subject.

Mr. Smith is a great professor. His class is really streamlined to help the student get the best grade. Homework assignments are cake, and he posts everything on his website for you slackers our there lol. The paper was a little tough simply because u gotta crank out a few pages while following strict guidelines, but he is very helpful, RECOMMEND!!

Awesome class with an awesome teacher! So many people fail because they dont do the HW. He gives it to you at the beginning and it takes no more than 5minutes for each assignment. The research paper is easy and he really loves his job. I would take this class again and again.

Smith was awesome! IDK about the semester length classes but i took him for the winter session, best idea ever! Attendance is super key to passing. Just sit down, listen and you never have to study!! Guaranteed B if you don't and guaranteed A if you do study. Super clear, i learned a lot in a short amount of time. Cute nerd too! Laughs @ himself :)

Professor Smith is pretty rad! He keeps you interested in the material the whole semester. Not boring, he's charming. If you get the chance, you should take him.

Dr. Smith is easily one of the best professors I've had; I've attended UCI and 4 other community colleges. Material is very interesting and he is a very good lecturer. He is very knowledgeable and seems to know a plethora of other information. Definitely show up for lectures, participate, and study. Wish he taught more classes!

Great Instructor, very knowledgeable in subject matter. However, you need to pay close attention and study for his test and quizzes. Some of the information that was on the test was not in lectures therefore you need to read the book.

He began teaching psych 190 which is a stats class for specific majors. He makes sure you know what you're doing, he goes around and helps everybody and makes sure everybody is understanding the math. The notes are 100% useful. It's not super easy and not super hard, only because he does a really good job teaching it so I'm glad I took this class

I learned so much in his classes, and he keeps them very interesting. The notes are very helpful. He is very helpful to his students.

Dr. Smith will teach you and PREPARE you for University classes. His expectations are high and you WILL benefit from taking his classes. I am currently at CSF and have met many students that took Dr. Smith--every one of them refer to Dr. Smith as the CC. Professor who inspires! If you want to learn-& work hard take all his classes!!!

One of the greatest professor at Rio Hondo in my experience. He's so helpful and willing to go the extra mile for his students. I'm not good at math whatsoever, but knowing how Dr. Smith works, I took his psy 190 class and ended up with an A. Don't hesitate to take him. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND him!

hes awesome. super funny and just a great professor. he provides sample quizzes that i highly recommend for studying purposes because he does not provide study guides. also read the book and do the reading guides because information from all thee above are in the tests.

Ph.D. Kevin Smith is one of the best professors. His test come straight out of the lecture notes that he provides, the book (end of the chapter questions0 and he also provides sample quizzes that are available in the library. Hes dorky and makes funny jokes! Interesting class, i highly recommend it. Just study the quizzes and your good

Good On-line class & well explained lectures by Mr. Smith. It's a load of work, You really need to read and be involved with the rest of the students in the discussion boards so if you have other hard classes in a short semester, wait to take this one in a 16 week period. Mr. Smith is a great professor and explains everything really well. He doesn't care if you come to class but that's actually the students issue and thats your grade. His test are the only thing that i hated, more than half of his test didnt make sense. He needs to ask actual questions that make sense to everyone. Wont take him again!

It is a fun class but that being said if you are looking for an easy class this is not one of them, I recommend u read the book/notes and UNDERSTAND IT, this is not a repetition/memorizing/ flashcards type of class, his test are way to hard for that, learn the material.

The test are really hard! Do all his reading GUIDES, dont miss class! Do everything in this class!! His lecture are very interesting & he a cute teacher to look at haha

I took this class in community college and I'm currently attending CSULB.He is definitely one of the best stat professors at Rio.Im taking a research methods course and everything he taught me is useful to me right now.I'm so thankful that I had to give him a good evaluation.Only reason why I got an average grade is because I didn't try hard enough

This class was easy. The homework was quick to do and enjoyable. The class was really interesting. Cool chill professor. Keeps things interesting.

Possibly the best professor I have ever had. Not all professors can teach. He can actually TEACH. You can also tell he genuinely cares about his students. The 210 class is NOT easy. Go to class and pay attention (he's kind of gorgeous so this is easy). Follow the reading guide. If you need help, ask. Your grade will reflect your effort. Good luck!

Chiming in to say that this was a very VERY cool and interesting class. Had I taken a course like this one much earlier, I might have switched my major entirely. The brain is fascinating and I would have loved to continue learning about it. Smith is a fantastic and thoughtful teacher. He loves his job and it shows.

Good and clear professor, he actually teaches the material however there is a lot of material to cover. He only grades 4 out of 8 HW assignments that are very easy. The exams are crammed with a lot of information and terms. There is one paper over the course of the semester that is easy and one extra credit opportunity, it's not an easy A class.

Excellent lecturer. You do have to do your reading and take notes though if you want to do well on the tests. If you need any help though he is definitely easy to approach and happy to answer any questions you have. One of the most legit professors I've had.

CLASS: He encourages interaction with classmates. If you are awkward... GET READY. HW: Not too hard, not too easy. Worth 10% of your grade. TEST: Tests aren't hard as long as you practice. He gives practice in class. PROFESSOR: Actually teaches, is very helpful, and loves his job. You can ask him for help if you are struggling.

Dr. Smith may be young, but that doesn't mean he doesn't know the material. He is passionate about the subject, and is clear of what he expects from his students. The tests are tough, even tougher if you don't read the book, but is always available for questions. Get ready to write (3 library ass.), read, ask questions, and DON'T MISS CLASS, ever!

Stats can be difficult but he makes sure that everyone understand the material by giving examples after examples. Do the homework, show up to class and study before the exams. He drops your lowest exam and offer extra credit on each test. He is easy to approach, can be dorky at times and laughs at himself. Plus, he's cute.

He stated at the beginning of the semester that it is one of the hardest classes at Rio, however, his class isn't as difficult as people say it is. Be prepare to read and understand the material. Exams aren't too hard if you put effort into it. Don't miss the library assignments and show up to class everyday. Would recommend him to anyone.

Took psy 210 in the fall and all i can say is that Dr. Smith is here to help. This is college so don't expect to get an easy A. Psy 210 is a tough class with lots of information but with the lecture slides and reading guides it was easy to keep to keep up. Follow the guides and put in some effort and you will definitely pass.

Kevin Smith is one of the coolest professors at Rio. He is funny, and energetic. There is some material that might be hard to grasp, but Mr. Smith is the type that will go over it until you are able to understand it. Tests are easy but like all classes, you must study to pass. If you enjoy going to class and your ready to learn, take Mr. Smith.

I took his Psych 210 last semester and I am taking Psych 190 this semester. I am a Psych major and he has been my favorite teacher so far. Very good teacher who makes time to answer students questions. The class was very interesting but it was not an easy A. If you show up to every class and put in the effort you will get a lot out of this class.

He is amazing he TEACHES!!! goes over everything you actually understand he gives quizzes but they are pretty straight forward his lectures are amazing never boring study for his tests he gives 3 library assign do it he grades them easily. His tests are all based off of notes and reading guide. He's good looking too :)

Really good professor! lectures are long but he made printed out version of this slides which were really help full. lectures are interesting and can get a bit boring but he always try to mix it up. you can tell this professor loves to teach

The lectures are tough and dense material. He really tries to be clear and he will answer questions during class and you can contact him out of class for help. He will repeat himself if he feels like the class is lost. He makes lec's interesting when he can, but most of the time is just such a tough lec that it makes it impossible to be interesting

Took all four of his classes: psy 101, 180, 190, and 210. Great professor, would take more of his classes if I there was more. Highly recommended for psychology majors. He prints out packets of his slides to fill in the blank so you don't have to copy everything down during his lectures. Use them to study for exams and you should be fine.

You need the book for homework, but I never referenced it because he gives awesome lectures! REALLY love his teaching style, he lecturesteaches you, but at the same time gets you involved in it as a class! Really awesome teacher! Also took him for Psych 101 online. He's REALLY organized! Helpful, but makes you figure it out yourself which is cool

Pscyh101- online, 10 week summer course. Grades: weekly DB+Quizzes, 3 midterms (multiple choice +free response), homework, & 1 research"summary"paper. Sends weekly reminders of due dates & will review and give feedback of research paper before its due- take advantage of this! revisions based on feedback could be the difference between A & B

I've taken Dr. Smith for all the classes he offers because he is such a great teacher. He takes the time to help you if you have questions about anything, he prepares you for university level. He inspired me to go to UCI which is where he graduated and I love it here. He is a fair grader and usually curves. Hands down the best professor at Rio.

This professor is amazing! Second time taking him this time for stats I hate math so much I went in their thinking I was going to fail but his lectures are so clear he always helps and gives u past exams to look at as a study guide which helped a lot. He actually cares and wants you to learn the material. TAKE HIM!

Took him for PSY 180 it was a fun class, 1 midterm and final, test are a little challenging but if you study you will do fine. Advice, if you want to pass do all the H.W, don't miss class and do the 5 pg essay, 5 pg essay is on a chapter book he gives you a list of books to chose from. Definately recomend this class to anyone, Good Luck.

Great teacher. I had him my freshman year for psy101 online. Definitely helpful. Wasn't strict on deadlines when i was an hour late. I read the book half of the class, and relied on the lectures the second half, but would definitely not recommend that.

Kevin Smith is an amazing professor. I took him for two semesters and would take him again. It is not hard to pass his class, but you must attend lectures and study! !! Beware of the long library assignments.

This is my second time taking Dr. Smith. I took him for BioPsych and Psy 190. BioPsych was tough, so do not expect it to be a walk in the park, study and be prepared for exams. Statistics on the other hand was, just pay attention to the lectures and do your homework. One of my favorite professors departing from Rio, take him you will not regret it.

Second time taking this professor first for Abnormal Psychology and this semester for Psychology 210 (Bio Psychology). Great professor, If you pay attention learn the material do the quizzes and essays you will pass. Key in passing this class is read the textbook and learn whats on the study guides. PSY210 is not hard as long as you study.

Dr. Smith is by far my favorite professor at Rio. The class is definitely tough, but the way Dr. Smith teaches it makes it seem more enjoyable than it ever would be. He's very passionate about neuroscience and teaching. To pass the class, you HAVE to study ahead of time. Cramming doesn't seem to help for this particular material. Amazing professor!

This was not an easy class but if you put the work in you will pass when i took the class he choose one of the cheapest books which was a plus work wise we had two papers and i think it was like 5 tests

Easy A if you do all your work, everything is well explained just do not miss anything or you will regret it at the end. The module tests have an open ended question not hard if you read the book. One paper and a powerpoint project is due towards the end but you are able to start long before its due. I got a B only because I missed some things.

great teacher. Kind, light hearted and clear to understand. Gives opportunity for extra credit every homework assignment (1 per week) plus 5 points EC minimum every test. He also allows you to correct your tests for partial credit. He goes above and beyond to make sure you understand the material. Overall a great teacher, 10/10 would recommend

I really enjoyed taking Professor Smiths class. The notes packet cost $8 and it's what you'll use throughout the semester for notes (which are fill ins). The book is mandatory because that's where he assigns hw. The material is a bit difficult but he will not move on until everyone understands. Totally recommend! One of Rio's best professors !

Professor Smith was an absolutely fantastic professor in my opinion. He made the lectures fun with his examples and his great jokes. As long as you do the necessary work and stay up to date with your assignments, this class is an easy A.

I took this class years and years ago. And I'm pretty close to finishing my MA in social psychology now. I still think of the things that I learned in Dr. Smith's class. One of the best courses I've ever taken. It was challenging, but his expectations are crystal-clear and you learn a lot. Highly recommend if you actually care about psychology.

I took psych 101 my freshman year and it was absolutely amazing. The lectures were really interesting and he tries to make things fun. Not a lot of work, study for exams and you will pass. Currently taking Biopsych 210 and it's a lot more material. I think studying is the key and the reading guides are a huge help.

If you read and study for your tests you will get a passing grade. His lectures are very easy to understand and are very interesting if you are paying attention of course. He will be happy to help with anything if you have questions. I would highly recommend taking him!

For the online class you need to be prepared to turn in a quiz and a few other small assignments weekly. He gives really easy work so long as you read the book and follow his lectures you should do fine. He seems like a really chill guy and he responds really quickly to questions

He explains everything so clear, there are around 6 exams, you need to read the notes and the reading guides if you study you will pass his class! He is an amazing professor very inspirational and he knows what is he talking about! He always makes his lectures so interesting!

Professor Smith made stats more simpler than it really is. I like how he takes his time explaining the concepts throughy instead of rushing through it. He isnt really a tough grader when it comes to tests and homework. He gives you the points if you at least did some of the work right. If you struggle with math, take his class.

I took psy 101 online for spring 2018. You really just need to study. Every week you have 1-2 small quizzes that you have unlimited chances on. Then you have the "practice" quiz which will help you on the official one, you need to get at least .7 to be able to take the official. 1 paper that isn't difficult at all, and a easy final that's a powerp.

Dr. Smith is very clear with what is expected in his class. The work load is perfect. You have a week for each module and can work at your own pace. He sends out texts to remind you when things are due. His lectures are all very helpful, but be prepared to read a lot. The chapters in the book are essential to understanding the quizzes and tests.

One of my favorite professor's! The work is not hard and as long as you do well on the assignments and test it is not hard to earn an A. You typically get through 1 chapter a week. There is 1 essay but if you send it early he gives good feedback! To do well on the test, quizzes and discussions, reading the book is very important and helpful!

I was nervous about stats bc I'm not great at math but Dr. Smith made it understandable and easy to comprehend. He doesn't rush through lectures, is helpful and ready to answer questions. Workload is manageable but stay on top of your assignments! Offers extra credit and drops the lowest test score. Best Psych teacher I've had!

This might be the toughes class I have taken for my major so far (and I thought PSY 190 was hard!). There is a lot to learn; but with Professor Smith, this class was manageable. We had to buy the a packet that we had to follow along with his lecture. The exams were pretty tricky, so make sure to study at least a week ahead. There are also 2 papers.

By far the best professor I've had attending Rio Hondo. He knows what he is talking about and so interested in what he's teaching. The Research methods class has prepared me for transfer like no other. He makes himself available outside class hours and during. You're graded on 3 exams, participation points, and one research paper.

Reading assignments and quizzes weekly. Quizzes can be difficult, you must do the reading to do well. A couple projects due throughout semester, however, if you follow directions you will do well. Like most online classes, you need to be organized & disciplined. Professor is accessible and responds quickly to emails. Amazing professor!

Amazing professor!! It was my first time taking Dr. Smith, and I decided to take him for psychology 210 and psychology 200. Both classes are very tough and will need a lot of your time to study. So,Study! Study! Study! He cares a lot for his students, but you need to work for your grade!Lecture booklets are amazing and will help a lot!!

This was the hardest class I've taken! But AMAZING lectures, I learned so much, there are two research papers, Exams are difficult but as long as you study and make notes you will be fine. Dr. Smith is pretty clear on what he expects, he is always there to help his students as well. So grateful I took this course with him.

Not a hard class. Timed quizzes but for the most part if you read you will be fine. Discussions were not bad at all and the one project we had was kind of easy. He is very easy to get in touch with and wants you to succeed.

Professor Smith is the best professor I have ever had. He gives great feedback and speedy replies. He gives weekly quizzes, but if you read the book, you're sure to pass with an A. I took his late start summer class, and even though it was only 8 weeks, it was the easiest class I've ever taken. 10/10 recommend!

Professor Smith is awesome! I took his Research Methods course this semester and had a great time. He is understanding and is willing to work with you. If you are struggling at any point in his class, let him know and he will clarify things. Honestly, he is one of the best professors I've had at Rio Hondo, so take his classes! They're worth it!

Professor Smith is great. Took his Online course. Key to passing his class with a good grade would be reading and time management. Only thing that is the quiz is timed for 10 minutes and tough is last question because you need to type and explained what the question is asking for. Any questions you have he will get back to you within 24 hours.

The professor was amazing. He explained everything crystal clear and was easy-going but not a pushover. Went in-person and needed to buy a packet required for the class. Forgot how much but cheap and it's used up by the end of class. Highly recommend his class! Just keep up on the work and study.

Professor Smith gives good feed land you can take the quizzes as many time as you like to get a perfect Score. I took his class twice.

Amazing professor and he gave me a lot of confidence in his recorded lectures. He explained everything so perfectly and I love that you can redo the homework until you get it right. He gives feedback when necessary.

Professor Smith is great at what he does ! Class is enjoyable and professor is very clear on what he expects of you . Attendance is mandatory if you want to pass , everyday there is participation points . Gives feedback on writing and goes out of his way to help if you ask . 3 exams 1 research paper. Definitely recommend!!

Professor Smith is by far the best professor I have had at Rio Hondo. He is funny, patient, and wants to help you succeed. Almost all his lectures are captivating, and he is very fair about grading. I would recommend not skipping class because you will miss out on exam material. He is accessible outside of class, and helps you with the final!

Dr. Smith is absolutely amazing. The topics discussed in stats is more than I thought, but very helpful. He's quite funny sometimes in class due to his personality. There is a lot of homework that is doable, 3 problem set assignments that can be hard unless you ask for help, 6 exams, and the final. He will drop your lowest score from the 6 exams.

I retook this class and it was so nice. He sends us reminders about assignments, lectures are clear, and digesting the information is just so easy. I loved this class and he was a good professor. The amount of work a week is reasonable.

The lectures were very interesting, the professor is a person that cares for a student to learn and he always send reminders throughout the semester. I would recommend him he is one of the best professors at Rio hondo.

Are there major awards for professors from students? If not, there SHOULD be and Professor Kevin Smith should win the top award. He is meticulous when lecturing without being TOO detailed, clear enough for one to easily retain the information given, and he maintains this style consistently. Do yourself a favor and take a course with him!

I really enjoyed this class. Prof is very clear and understandable. The book needed for this class really helps with exams. I really like the fill in the blank aspect of it.

Professor Smith is such a kind and caring person. He makes the lectures as interesting & simple as possible. I had 2 big papers, Midterm/Final, and a couple exams throughout the semester that made up my grade plus a few small quizzes open notes. Great teaching style and well respected Professor, definitely take his class!

So I would definitely take this professor again. I took his summer course and let me tell you it was definitely a lot of work but it was not hard. He literally has videos explaining how to do everything. If you take this class you have to do the walk through videos make sure you follow along with the notes and the homework will be easy! he's great!

Professor Smith gave a content heavy class, which is appreciated if you are in school to learn. His teaching method was very clear and accessible, he is conscientious of different learning styles and those with math anxiety. Excellent class and highly recommend to anyone looking to take Psy190 or psych statistics.

One of the best professors I've had. Better than any professors I've had at CSUF. Cares a lot about teaching. Very kind and his lectures are engaging. He even acknowledges when what we'll be talking about will be boring lol, but tries to get us through it. It's really hard to fail his class in my opinion as long as you're showing up.

The professor is clear and engaging. The textbook is helpful, and the homework is doable if you put in the work. Using Unstuck ai and attending class are key to doing well. Overall, a solid class with an approachable instructor.

Professor Smith is a great professor. The textbook required is just his math packet which is a 3-4 letter fill in the blanks for the slides he projects onto the screen during his lecture. Only advice there is for the class is to show up! Do the HWs too. Those make up a good amount of your grade. Really really simple and easy class!

Perfect class for those who are low effort and have attendance issues. Participation is usually able to be made up, exams are easy to study for, and research paper is extremely easy to complete if you take the 5 minutes to look over the example. Interesting and engaging professor as well!

Professor Smith is caring and is straightforward with his teaching style. He teaches what you need to know and ensure you are able to duplicate the results. I took this course over the summer, so I needed to spend a bit more time with the material, but overall it ended great.

If you are looking for a great psychology professor take professor Smith. He is such a great professor and provides clear straight to the point lectures. I have taken various psychology classes with professor Smith and he never failed to provide extra support in order to help you through your courses.

For Stats, his class requires a packet that you use all semester. A couple exams throughout the semester. He gives you practice quizzes and the key to study. He's very helpful and he lectures in a way that makes the material easier to understand. He's a great professor, just make sure to show up to class or you will fail.

To be honest my C was on me but Smith as a whole is the best professor at Rio. Research Methods class has lots of reading, mini class experiments, and one final experiment you have to conduct on your own or with a group and a couple exams in the semester. He sets up the final part by part and helps every step.

Hands down one of the best professors ever!!! I wish more professors were like him. He makes a difficult subject feel easy. He cares about his students & is always accessible during office hours if you have any questions. My only regret is not taking more classes with him.

Prof. Smith made an online course easy to navigate and understand. It was the same every week: video lectures to watch, two procotred quizzes, and a discussion. Two papers required throughout the term. He provided the open-ended questions that would be on the midterm and final beforehand, which was really helpful because both exams were timed.

Dr. Smith provides indepth information through lectures and additional materials. The textbook is there to help but he expands on those concepts fantastically. He is easy to reach via email or office hours and provides incredible feedback.

This professor is amazing and really shows he cares. He provides a packet that makes it easy to follow along in class and to study with for homework assignments. As long as you follow along with the packet and practice the material, you will pass! I wish all online classes had the same structure, I'm glad I took his course.

I just finished STATS of behavioral science with Dr. Smith. I am not great with math. I showed up to class, asked questions, emailed if I had questions. He is there for his students, wants to see us succeed. You have to do the work, but if you it will be very rewarding.
