Professor West is by far the best Chemistry professor I have ever experienced! I took him for the first entry level chemistry course(1411) and I was super excited to see he will be teaching organic chemistry as well. If you want to truly grasp all the concepts I recommend taking his class, you wont be disappointed!

I took Professor West's 8wk online course. Not an easy A but doable. His grading is based on the point system. We used Cengage for text and homework. 20 chapters. 10 Labs. 4 Exams. 1 research paper on Medicinal Marijuana. He responded within the hour everytime I had a question. His feedback shows he cares. Hes awesome. Take him.

Although there is a lot of homework assignments, the professor makes it worthwhile. He grades lightly and gives a ton of feedback. He answers emails quickly and makes sure your questions are answered thoroughly. He went out of his way to contact another college I tend to help me with an enrollment issue with another class.

Professor West made Chemistry fun for me! The lectures he gives are sometimes on the long side, but a lot of needed information is provided. Handouts are given during the lecture to fill out, so participation in this area, as well as in labs, is very important! Emails that were filled with questions were often replied to very fast. Great course!

Professor West makes class very interesting. Full of energy and will always come to class with hand outs or have you print a page or two before class. My advisor told me I would love him and I sure did. He emails and will keep in touch through the semester to give you an update on progress as well as areas of need. I absolutely recommend his class.

I truly enjoyed taking Professor West. The power-point lectures are great and very helpful for his tests. He gives great feedback on things you can improve on. Labs are very detailed, however he always answered any emails very promptly. There is no extra credit but all material is presented so you can always work ahead.

I enjoyed my 8 weeks class with Professor West. I am out of words and can't say enough. He is an extraordinarily caring towards his students. All you got to do is work hard and if you have any questions, you can email him and he will reply promptly. I will be taking him for other Chem classes.

This class is hard but Professor West is awesome. I do not recommend taking the mini class. There is a ton of homework done in the Cengage website that is really difficult and the tests are not based on that homework. The homework was the hard part. He's really nice and gives great feedback. He accommodates students for emergencies. Recommended!

I loved taking Professor West's 1406 class online even with the labs online he made it clear as to what was expected and provided videos of what to expect when conducting the lab. As long as you get your work done on time and are actually trying the class will be a breeze. There are 10 labs, 1 essay , 20 homework assignments and 4 exams. 10/10

Mr. West truly cares that his students will learn and succeed his is class. He offers many different ways to learn to material and is always available to help when you do not understand a topic. He is respectful and holds you accountable to your learning. He is also supportive in helping you achieve your goals.

Professor West is the best professor for organic chemistry! I struggled a lot with organic chemistry but when I took his class it was very easy to understand. He makes sure to review concepts and makes sure that you understand what is going on. It's something I appreciate so much and would recommend anyone to take his class!

Took proff West for summer 6 weeks course and will def recommend. Lots of homework. You can work ahead but he does have specific dates for the units due. Grades light on the labs but I suggest you start labs ahead. Homeworks where the hardest part of the class. Turn in all your work and for sure you will get an A

Scared of Chem? Take this class!! Prof. West could not have made this experience any smoother. Very responsive, caring, thorough, and will work with you if things go awry at home. Homework is administered online thru a separate platform, hardest part of the course. BUT Prof. West's exams were very fair! Keep up with the work and you will succeed!

I was very hesitant to take CHEM1407 online and was worried about how the labs would work at home but the amount of organization between the lab kit, homework, and exams really sets you up for success. Professor West is an easy and quick grader. He leaves feedback and is very quick to respond to emails. Easy A if you put in the work!

Professor West was clear and precise in all course guidelines and lectures. He took the time to read the assignments that were turned in and provide feedback. As long as you read the textbook and take notes the class is quite informative and easily manageable.

Great professor. He responded quickly to emails, gave feedback on assignments (even though it was online), and you could tell he really cares about his students. I would take him again! Although, since it is an online class you mainly have to self teach a lot of the material to yourself. Utilize youtube videos and the textbook and you'll do fine.

I was nervous going into Organic Chemistry, as anyone else would be. Professor West made the class very enjoyable. His lectures were interesting and he is always opened to answering questions. You will definitely have to study. He gives a lot of homework, but it's necessary to succeed in the class (both for practice and grading).

This class was challenging because there is a lot of work in such little time. (I took the 8 week course). But nothing that one cant handle. If you do all the work and do all the labs, you will do well in the class. Professor west is so encouraging, I really recommend him.

To take a chemistry course especially ONLINE can be very tough and intimidating but professor West made this transition very easy. The labs are super fun and easy to accomplish. He gives amazing feedback to ensure you will do great in his assignments. READ , READ and the 4 exams will be a breeze.

Professor West was a great teacher! He heavily exceeded my expectations for Chemistry 1406 and I would recommend him for any other future courses. Great feedback was given on labs which made it better for the student to push through with confidence. I took Professor West for one of my prerequisites. He was so caring and made sure we were acknowledged for our efforts. My class consisted of about 4/5 assignments a week (all due at the end of the week), about 3 labs a week (due specific day) and one test on Sundays. I took this class in less than a month and would def recommend.

TAKE HIM! Was nervous because of negative experiences with a previous professor. This class was really fun. Call me a nerd, but I loved the textbook and most of the experiments. Tests are doable just print off notes, read, do practice problems. Go to tutoring and email professor for supplemental help. He is amazing! So kind & encouraging! 10/10.

Professor West is a great professor. I can honestly say I was nervous in the beginning because there is a lot of work, but the work is doable if you put forth the effort. I struggled the most on the homework BUT, you get plenty of chances to make a 100 on the assignments. The labs are very thorough and step by step. He responds quickly to emails.

I just needed to retake this class and this was the best decision I could have made. From day one, Professor West was the bomb. He made the class very welcoming and easy to understand. Incredible Professor! OCHEM 1 is a tough subject, but Prof. West has the ability to break down the material to much simpler terms and gives analogies to help associate the material to something tangible. Take notes from the powerpoints, stay on top of the labs and assignments, ask him questions and you will excell. I'm retaking him for OCHEM 2!

Do yourself a favor and take this Professor. I took OCHEM 1 & 2 with him during the summer and he has proved to be outstanding. Grading system is clear from the get go and lectures are fantastic. I was able to make A's in both classes I took with him during summer without too much trouble. You are expected to work but he will be of great help.

Organic Chemistry is not something that I would classify as an easy course. But with a professor like Kevin West, I can rest assure you that you will succeed, as long as the student holds their own end of the stick until the very end of the class. I cannot recommend this professor enough!

Get ready to do a lab every week and answer the post-lab report while tears are streaming down your face. It's like this for every professor but invests in a Chegg account and you can make an A in the class. Last day of the semester he bumped my grade up from an A- to an A+ so I'm guessing extra credit is possible.

Excellent professor that gives feedback on lab assignments. Every lab was a dry lab. There was about 10 quick and easy labs. 20 HW assignments and 4 tests. I took this class as a quick maymester course. Zero problems.

Was a very nice teacher. I was scared to take chemistry but he made the class much more enjoyable. A LOT of work assigned, but is very easy. Do not underestimate when I say a LOT of work is assigned, but is very easy just tedious. A lot of labs but he is very nice and is a very easy grader, gave motivating feedback. All I can say is WHEW. This class was draining. I felt like I was taking an advanced Chem course and not a beginner's Chem course. Homework & Lab assignments take HOURS on end to complete. Professor West was amazing at responding to my emails. Any question I had regarding the course he answered to a "T". I recommend him 1000%. I wish He thought biology so I could take him lol. He also had office meeting hours almost every week if any students had questions or concerns.

Professor West is understanding but do your work. If you have questions, ask, and he will help you. Chapter summaries are SUPER helpful, so be thorough. He guides labs and explains important reactions, very rare among chemistry professors. The class is what you make of it, if you're a STEM major, he is the teacher you want as a mentor.

Mr. West is a fantastic teacher. It's obvious he adores what he does. He loves everything about it. I was surprised when he responded in ten minutes. He grades really fairly, even though I thought my work wasn't that great. I sincerely hope I never have to take chemistry classes again, but if I did, I would absolutely want him to be my instructor.

This class is not necessarily hard. It is just a lot of work. Make sure you are doing the labs several days in advanced and stay diligent on your work. This professor gives good feedback when grading tests, assignments, and labs. None of the tests are proctored.

This 8-week online chemistry course is very time-consuming. Around 4.25 assignments per week, each taking 2-3 hours. The professor cares about students learning, but there's no flexibility to those with other commitments. It's manageable if you're dedicated and have no classes or a job but it will be overwhelming with other responsibilities.

Prof West is honestly one of the best Chemistry professors I have taken in my life. Yes chemistry is hard but he makes it easier for you to understand. He gives amazing feedback on labs and his test where open note. I would take him again in a heart beat

probably one of the best professors ive had my entire time in college. Does an amazing job at explaining the material and makes challenging material easier with printed, fill in the blank notes and practice problems. Must be on time to lab and lecture and no late work accepted but the homework takes 45 mins or less to do each week. Hes funny also.

He's a very funny professor and offers help if needed. His deadlines are very strict, and you cannot miss a day of lecture because you will be completely lost during the lab that week. Studying is HIGHLY recommended because every concept ties in together.
