She is nice but she can not teach. She knows her subject well, but dont know how to explain it to the students. Most of my classmates are lost. Stay away from her if you really want to learn MTH 173. Her notes sucks, not useful at all. JUST DON'T
I had her for pre-cal and she was a good teacher. She is very kind and wants her students to learn. She knows what she's doing but yet cannot explain it well to her students. She gives extra credit and if you show an effort, she will bring your grade up.
very nice but not a very good teacher. she never graded and gave back our exams
i took her for a really easy math and it was difficult to attend her class. she has a very loud voice but is very nice. she cant control the class and loses track of time while falling weeks behind schedule. she cant really teach at all.
I had her for Algebra 2 Sheesh this lady has a loud Voice. she uses the word "eh" alot it kinda annoyed me and i had to drop the class =( i didnt like her.
She seemed clear and very helpful to me. She's extremely willing to help you understand if you don't.
if you are taking her to pass then take it you will get a C for sure.. but if you are just taking to learn then you might some have some problems. thanks and good luck she is not bad though
very helpful teacher
Best Math Teacher in Annanadale Campus, maybe all campuses ... She's willing to help you if she sees you trying ...
she is a helpful teacher ..take her
take her if u r trying to pass, but if ur trying to understand and know what ur doing RUN as far away as u can, trust me, this is no joke
She was a wonderful teacher. She was very friendy an helpful
OMG she is the best, I was failin because I suck but she let me drop out of her class 3 days before the final exam and now my GPA is in good standings!
The only problem I had at times was understanding her somewhat shaky english. Perhaps you should speak with her before signing up for her class. Other than that, she is competent and enthusiastic and has the most gorgeous eyes of any professor I've ever met.
she is one of the best math teacher. she shows the easy way t oapproach the answer. i like her and i will take 241 with her in summer. so as to have fun.
she is very good professor in annandale campus, i will take 241 with her for sure. she liek all her students to get a good grade. there are lots of extra credits for those students that their grades is not that good. so she will help you a lot. trust me ,
She is very helpful. She explains the material in a manner in which you can understand. She's the best.
Mrs. Gamgoum is a wonderful teacher. Very helpful, understanding and considerate. The best teacher in Annandale. Take her if you want learn and pass. I will miss her sweet voice.
Man u guyz are way off.. She must of changed since the last rating on here.. I cant understand SH#! in her class. she trys but not hard enough. she is the queen of trying to make people feel stupid..she gets off on it..some poor student that dont understand she will call them out if english is not a first language dont take her because its not hers
please do not make mistake. Do not take her, she does not know the material. She is very an organize, she sometimes get lost when she solve the problem she assigned. I think she is a worst teacher in nova. If you really want to learn, do not take her.
Very Easy Grader, but doesn't know the material. She pretty much gives good grades because she knows she can't teach
Mrs. Gamgoum is awesome. She's very helpful. She offered extra credit to help boost grades. She is one of the nicest teachers I've ever had. I took two math classes with her. I wish she taught more classes.
****WARNING***DONT PUT YOURSELF IN TROUBLE... SHE IS REALLY A HARD PROF... THE CLASS IS SOOOO BORING, U NOT GONNA GET ANYTHIN FROM HER, HER TEACHING IS REALLY HARD TO CATCH UP WITH... TOO MUCH STRESS... TESTS ARE HARD, NO MATTER WHAT HOW MUCH YOU STUDIED.... REALLY HARD...
Last comment probably failed her class and put bad ratings as retaliation. Mrs Gamgoum is a nice teacher, and does have a slight accent.
She made a girl cry on the last day of class right before the Final Exam! She acts like you are stupid if you ask her to explain something. She is not very clear when she does explain. She just expects for you to know what she is teaching but it is her job to teach it. I would not take her again. Take Mrs. Roberts or Dr. Conroy!
She's horrible, dosen't know how to teach, she grades u upon how u look like. if she likes u then u'll pass,if not then forget it. big time races. I passed 2 tests with a B and failed 1,she gave me a D at the end,my friend failed 2 and passed one with a C and got B at the end. She knows she suck, loud and unclear. Basicly a ****.Run away.Trust me.
here is the deal... do ur hw... do the extra crd.... by attention in class and you will pass... i failed almost all my test... but with her extra crd, and trying to explain stuff i passed with a B yep yep a B and one more thing.... show up to class she like to see her studetns all the time... and oh belive me you will never fall a sleep
she is horrible..i don't know what is creteria for grading
All the reviews have a point. She is very unorganized, especially with time. She does tend to make you feel stupid, but if you ask you won't come away not knowing how it works. So if you aren't easily offended, you'll have no problems with her. She hates giving bad grades. Make her like you and she'll do all she can do give you a good grade.
She's not 2 bad. I have 2 agree to the fact of making her like u, cuz that is prolly the only way out. Uses book for everything, so if u follow the book & pay attention in class and study hard, u should be good. I passed her class with a low A.But wouldn't really recommend if math isn't ur thing. But ur gonna have 2 go through it no matter wat :-(
I wouldn't recommend her if you are not very good at math. Her ways of explaining things are awful and she expects you to know what you are talking about.
she's a wonderful teacher. always willing to work with her students (her extra credit will help you!!). attend every class because she points out what you'll see on the test. do your homework, her tests and quizes are directly from hmwk questions!!!!
Do not ever take her class, unless you already know Algebra One and how to teach yourself. She gets angry when we asks questions and then doesnt understand why we are confused!! Waits until the end of class to give test/quiz and rushes you....She is super nice, but doenst know the first thing about teaching. ***AVOID AT ALL COSTS***
she kinda didn't know what she was talking about. i had basically teach myself. If you know nothing about statistics, i wouldn't take her, but if you are pretty good in math, you might be ok.
Not the best. Comes to class late, cannot follow the syllabus at all. Material isn't especially difficult, yet the class tends to do poorly.
She is very friendly and wants you to understand. Her teaching method is subjective, so if you know what you're doing there is no way you will struggle. she will help you in any way possible if you show interest in class
Takes HW for effort rather than a grade, like some teachers do. Doesn't give comprehensive finals, instead the last 3 chapters of the book, way harder than that. Sometimes easy to follow. As you reach chap 4 - end, very confusing and unclear. Don't recommend.
she's very nice but not the best professor. she spends so much time on homework and the beginning of a new lesson that she has to rush through the rest of the lesson. the tests, while not too hard, takes a long time to do because of all the questions she puts on there. your best bet is to take Pellerin.
All these comments are true about her but she is not a bad of a teacher as some people think. She is alittle crazy but do the homework to teach yourself and do ur best on the tests. Def. get to know her and do all the extra credit. I made a C on the tests, but with the homework and extra credit I got a B... she isn't so bad
Her class requires a certain amount of competence. The ratings on here bashing her are because they were not handed easy grades. While the class is easy if you understand, she does her best to be helpful although often gets sidetracked in her explainations. Very lively and enthusiatic as well. Take her if you have a decent grasp on math.
Get ready to teach yourself. She is one if the worst teacher I have ever had. Homework is a must. Attendents not so much. Would not take her for ANY OTHER CLASS!!!
While I admit she is not a very great teacher, she is very nice and understanding!! If you do all the homework, and the extra credit projects, you will get an A in the class. Attendance is definitely mandatory. She curves a lot of the tests because they are so hard. She's very approachable and you can easily get help from her office at any time.
Professor Gamgoum is definitely not the best professor. She tends to speed through chapters and relies way too much on calculators. That being said she is enthusiastic about the material that she attempts to teach. And if you do all the extra credit and homework you will get a good or at least decent grade regardless of test scores.
While she has very thick accent, she is reasonable and gives you every opportunity to do well in the course. She is very enthusiastic about statistics and appreciates hard work.
worse teacher ever. DONT TAKE HER. She goes way to fast when explaining and hard to understand! i had to teach myself and it sucked
She is a very nice, but rushes through chapters. She does not give you an opportunity for extra credit other than going to the lab, and they are not raally helpful. It would be helpful if she gave her students practice tests and quizzes. She needs to slow down when explaining and not give so much HW.
She is nice and helpful if you ask for it! I got an A and I promise you I was planing on taking calculus at least 2 or 3 times. Her test are by no means easy but she gives you credit for trying the questions, which is something most teachers will never attempt. No reason why you cant pass that class with A if u do the extra credit you will be fine.
Really do NOT take this class, and if you have to take it try and take it somewhere else. She goes way to fast over chapters and her tests don't even cover the info she taught. Plus when you ask a queston she just looks at you like your stupid.
I suggest you NOT to take this class with her teaching it because she sucks at it! Just like that person said, she goes way too fast and she doesn't like answering stupid question! So far in that class, I have no idea what is going on.
I would definitely suggest you not take her class. She cannot teach at all. She just read the notes off of the powerpoint and does not give examples. Her tests are extremely long and consist of question never before seen. When she notices she is behind she will teach like 3 or 4 sections in one day. If you plan on teaching yourself go ahead and tak
amazing teacher, answers all questions, very easy to get drawn to. does best to make sure material is understood before moving on.
She is really helpful, she is very kind. She works with all her student and she has every ones best interest. She wants to see you try and she will work with you. I would certainly take her again. she is great.
She ignores the sylbs and has to change at least twice bcuz she is way too fast, leaving students feel dumn..But she accepts most of our excuses and try to be helpful, make ur grade good. She's never late to class.Listen closly to what she says..her accent is very hard to understand at first..
She could not follow the syllabus well because she was sick but She is kind and answers all the questions, teaches in easy way. I'll definitely take her class again.
She goes a little fast, but if you keep up with the homework assignments and ask questions its not so bad. I didnt do too well on her tests, but she is very understanding and curves the grades. I ended up with an A in this class, despite my not so great test scores.
She is one of the best professor in Nova Annandale.
She is very helpful, kind, gives you extra credit and one of the best teacher in Math department in Nova. Drops one of your test lowest grade and picks top 5 best quiz grade out of 10. You can pass with easy A in the class.
Recommended. About 1 hour of HW per class, ask what's due because the syllabus doesn't have dates. Tests are acceptable, about 15 problems similar to HW. Has a review in class before the test. Class was small, 30 students, friendly and interactive learning environment. She doesn't have tenure and really wants you to do well. Book is only for HW.
This teacher is hard, she doesnt really teach and when she does she is all over the place. You must know the math before going in because you are mostly teaching yourself. Her extra credit must be typed, and she doesnt really have the students in heart
She is the best teacher, I took with her Math 173 and math 157 and got both A. she is very kind.she drops lowest testand give many extra credit if you do all the extra credit you get A even you score 70s in her exam .She works with all her student and she has every ones best interest. She wants to see you try and she will work with you.
She is genius and best college teacher. i took her spring 2011 math 173 she teaches me calculus very well and got A .Definitely recommend her.she gives a lot of quiz's extra credits and she makes you work hard and know the subject well and get A.
Funny, sweet lady. She knows her math and knows how to teach it. The class is not easy, so don't go there expecting an easy A. You have to earn an A, which isn't that hard with her if you do your homework and keep up with the class. She will help you as much as possible to make sure you get an A. Participate in her class cause she loves it!TAKE HER
She was all over the place. She couldn't explain things clearly, I left confused a lot. Some exams were easy but there were two exams that were RIDICULOUS. Nothing on the exam was what we went over. Avoid if possible. It is possible to get an A, just don't expect it to be an easy class.
GREAT teacher. Extremely friendly and helpful. I have already signed up for 242 with her.
She's terrible. Reading past comments she sounded like a nice lady, ready to help when needed. Absolute opposite for my class. She discourages questions. If you don't understand her the 1st time and ask her to repeat it she gets very irritable. Even said "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU" to a student asking her to explain something. Don't take her.
AVOID!!! NO IDEA why some have said that she's helpful. This is my last semester at nova and I never had a prof. like Gamgoum she is the worst prof. to be taking stats with. I have no choice so I am stuck! Her tests don't make sense, she gets irritated if you ask a question. This class will ruin your GOOD/GREAT GPA if you end up taking it with her.
She is a quick teacher you will have to rely on some outside of class work. If you show up to class something's will become easier she likes to show e,extrinsic short cuts.
Although very bubbly, professor Gamgoum is very unstrutured and moves way too fast. Her lectures are mostly her talking to herself and then asking the class "isn't it?" There is no in class work (practice) so you will have to teach yourself the material through online quizzes and hw. Avoid at all costs. Misleading reviews below.. She is not easy
AVOID,She says attendance is not mandatory however during MID-Semester she told the class that attendance is extra credit (only allowed 2 absences) again she doesn't tell you this until MID-SEMESTER!!!! Teaches too fast. Doesn't like to answer questions in class. NOT for FULL-TIME students and def. NOT for those who are not good at math!
NOT EASY AT ALL.Yes this professor is confusing, but if you attend every class you should be fine. She is extremely confusing but my math lab helps out a lot once she gives you the calculator shortcuts Attendance is not mandatory but its Extra Credit. She Allow us to have a CheatSheet with us when we take test, you can write whatever you want on them
Extra Credit tremendously helps your grade!
Attendance is extra credit but go to class! If you miss a class she will tell you that you're in trouble. MyStatLab practically go me through her class. She is flexible on grading but it's within her benefit. Deadlines & class exams are ridiculous.
Mrs.Gamgoum is probably the nicest person on earth. however, I had to withdraw from her class because I've never been able to completely understand what is she talking about. her tests are nightmares , to be specific they are nothing like what she have taught in class. Avoid her unless you are a genius. she gives lots of extra credit but no thanks
She is the sweetest professor on this earth! However, she is also very knowledgable and is more than happy to help out her students if they have confusion. Her exams are pretty difficult, but she allows a "cheat sheet" for formulas.
She is very bubbly and enthusiastic about the subject. However, I could not follow her at all.
worst professor ever, I have no idea what she is teaching.I hate this class. She shouldnt be a teacher cuz she doesnt know how to teach at all
Her class is really confusing. Her allowing the class to take notes during quizzes and tests is not helping at all. Online work are too much. If you are retaking the class, this is might be a class for you. If totally new to the subject, might not want to try her.
She is an awful teacher. 9 quizzes, 6 tests and 20+ homework assignments for a 16 week class is more than I expected. Plus she's horrible at explaining to her. Run! Don't take her unless you have to
I have no idea what she is doing at nova. She is a terrible teacher. AVOID HER!!.DO NOT TAKE HER. She doesnt explain things and expect students to do good on the test. If you want to teach yourself go ahead take her. TEst are a nightmare nothing like hw or anything ever seen in class.
She is so knowledgeable and helpful. The only thing I did not like about her class was online assignments on MYMathLab. Take her class! She likes students who join her solving the problems together with her in the class.
She is awesome. I don't know why people think she is hard... her tests are easy as long as you study and understand. Just do the assignments. If you do it, you will be fine. Attendance are important because the lecture relates directly to the exams. I got a high A in her class. GREAT PROFESSOR AS LONG AS YOU LISTEN TO HER LECTURE.
this professor assigns alot of work. i mean A-L-O-T of work. and we had few snow days and it's not our fault for snowing but at the last 2 weeks, she crammed 4 chapters of material and even made finals a week early so that she has time to grade everything. if you have nothing to do, then take this class you have alot of spare time anyway.
She seems like an unorganized professor, but very encouraging. MyMathlab access code is required for homework and quizzes. Exams should be understandable if homework and quizzes were completed and comprehended. Emails were replied to promptly. She will send weekly emails.
ELI course. The MyStatLab system used is pretty good. I felt well prepared for the exams by the assigned homework.
Where do I even start? The statlab hw and quizzes are your life line. The exams don't look like the hw or quizzes, but are the same concept. She lectures in class but its confusing, until you teach yourself on my statlab. BUT she is very helpful and patient person and gives extra credit.
Ok so I'm gonna be straight forward she is extremely unclear when doing notes and assignments she talks about it maybe just to make an announcement but never gets into it and also her test does not reflect the quizzes or homeworks do not take her if you want to keep a good grade
Took her class online. It was typical online assignments and quizzes every week. The tests were fairly hard, but OK if you studied. She allows multiple attempts for the quizzes. Since it's online it is self taught, but it matches the text book VERY well. There was an issue with the online program once so she let us all retake a quiz, very generous.
Worst professor I've had to date and that's saying something! The class is basically self taught, she's of no help. Her instructions are always super confusing, she never makes due dates clear and extra credit is basically the only reason I managed to scrape by with a C. She would come to class late almost everyday then crammed. AVOID AT ANY COST!
I took her class last semester and every class seemed like a waste of time. You basically have to teach yourself the material, but as long as you do the homework on statlab you should be fine. Only buy the online lab code. Don't expect anything out of this teacher. She only reads the slides and you will want to skip her class 95% of the time.
The teacher's lectures are utterly confusing. She assigns so much homework through MY Stat lab. Her in class tests are very hard and her online test are timed (with little time to complete them). She assigns two extremely hard statistical projects. You have been warned, do not take this teacher if you care about your GPA!
How does she have a 3.0 rating!!!!!! She teaches at the level of a 1.0 rating!!!!!!
She confused the whole class, her accent is hard to understand. If you ask her for help on a math problem, she will ramble on about a solution and be extremely mad if you don't understand her foreign accent!
Lectures move at a rather speedy pace. Can be confusing to understand and a bit disorganized but will help if asked. No textbook, uses mymathlab. Don't let the homework pile up, it can help you get use to practicing these tough problems. Has mymathlab quizzes. Be ready to study in groups and help each other cause it can be frustrating.
Does not provide any feedback. Very, very slow to post grades (took over two weeks for a test grade). So many assignments with unclear due dates (they are different on Bb and on MyStatLab) so it's hard to tell which is due on what date. Emails can be condescending. Would not recommend!
Super unorganized, very hard to understand, completely unreasonable. The professor assigned quizzes and exams sometimes on the same day, as if we had no other classes or work. Very rude professor, if you question her she is quick to give you "thats not my problem" answer. I have had a fair share of bad professors but this one is by far the worse.
She constantly makes mistakes on her problems. She's very nice but I wouldn't take her. If you could teach yourself then take her. Her powerpoints aren't even useful. She tries to do examples on how to do it but she ends up messing up. I have to retake but I will make sure not with her. everyone dropped out out of 37 students there were only 9 left
She may be the only professor that I strongly recommend DO NOT TAKE! She often late to class, legitimately yells in class, and oh--she gave us two days notice that we had an online exam due that she never posted about on BB and hardly mentioned in class.
TERRIBLE, TERRIFYING, TETROUS Biggest mistake ever. Always late, never on time or early, but expects students to be late. No communication, heavy accent, does not listen to students whether it's corrections or questions, not organized at all, gives back grades very late, unfair grading, never know if you'll have a quiz/ test. Liar. DON'T TAKE HER!!
The best teacher I had . I hoped that she teach Math 174.
during class you will hate it, but at the end of the semester she'l do whatever she can to help each student pass. attendance is extra credit, she drops your lowest exam, online homework is 10% of your grade, and you only need to get 80% to receive full credit on hw. exams are multiple choice--but she changed her policy and gave us 2 online ones.
Mrs. Gamgoum is kind, usually late, and dwells on material too long. She really knows her stuff! I just don't like that she reads the ppt's word for word. Gives you online quiz for every chapter and hw questions have Lots of parts to them. Not much extra credit, 2 projects, in class test nothng like hw!! Online tests are based on hw so ask for that
I enjoyed having Professor Gamgoum compared to other stats professors. She knows her material really well. I wish she would create her own PowerPoint slides because she takes too much time reading the slides word for word. Ask for online tests because it is based on the homework unlike the in-class test. Two projects, 4 tests, quizzes, HW, & EC.
Took her online class, and it was a horrible mistake. Totally not recommended if you have a busy schedule. I passed Exam 1, Exam 2, completed and submitted all HW on time, but did not pass Exam 3. My not passing of Exam 3 produced my automatic failure of the class.
She doesn't respond to emails in a timely manner unless she wants to. I sent probably 10 emails got answers to possibly three. Don't even try to ask her for help. She just gives you a runaround and you feel like you know less than before. Assignment due dates are hard to grasp. Sends out study guide on 1st test only. Received 3 days b4 test was due
She doesn't answer questions clearly, ever. She rarely explains things clearly to begin with. She makes the material much harder than it needs to be. She also will change the dates for every test with no warning, rendering her tentative schedule useless. Not to mention that she is constantly later, or doesn't show up to class.
Very aggressive! Likes to pick and choose her favorite students. She won't care if u ask questions or need help. Expects you to learn everything on your own. I dont recommend her dont waste your money or time on taking her.
I took MTH 241 in a two month period, online. Bad things: HARD WORK. If you think this class is easy, you are wrong. Every week you'll have to do, at least, 2-3 hours of homework, 45 minutes of quiz. Good things: If you do your homework and you quizzes, you'll do fine in the tests. The mid-term and final exam count on more than half of your grade.
Professor Gamgoum is really nice. You will pass as long as you are able to teach your self because that's the one thing she doesn't know how to do. She mainly just teaches off of a powerpoint anyways, so you will have to teach yourself. Most work is online, the course is unorganized, but if you can finish all of your work you will be fine.
Class was extremely boring and hard to follow, due dates were all over the place. Only plus is she's an easy grader for the projects which were grade boosters.
WARNING!!! DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!! HER ACCENT IS HARD TO HEAR. SHE GAVE A LOT OF HOMEWORK WHICH ARE DIFFICULT AND LONG. A QUIZ IS ONLY 1H30 WHICH IS NOT ENOUGH SINCE THE HOMEWORK IS SUPER LONG AND HARD. THE ASSIGNMENT DUE DATE IS HARD TO FOLLOW. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HER!! TAKING THIS CLASS IS ONE OF THE MOST REGRETFUL DECISIONS OF MY LIFE!!!
She doesn't teach at all! Her online class is heavily based on StatLab and textbook. No additional explanations, no feedback, take too long to grade. You can buy the Pearson course and teach yourself. Her links to additional sites are outdated. Like a ghost, she is present somewhere, but you can't see her or feel her presence. Avoid!
Dont take her. She has a very strong accent and she doesnt understand your question and definitely cant answer them. She gives you a lots of homework in mymathlab. She doesnt explain any problems if you have questions!! Horrible dont take her.
Im sitting in her class right now and all I can think is how badly Im going to fail, she has an extremely difficult way of teaching, shes always late and waits till last minute to give the sign in sheet, and she goes over things extremely quick and expects you to understand her, at times sarcastic and extremely unhelpful DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!!
All she does is read word for word from a powerpoint without explaining, piles up the workload and does not tell you when its due meaning you have to get it done the night before. Screams at us, keeps going after class ends, if you're the type to not believe ratings on here, I'm telling you student to student, AVOID.
This is the worst teacher in the whole school. Her due dates are all over the place. A lot of times she comes 10-14 minutes late to class and always makes it there before the 15 minute mark. She always holds up back in class for another 5-10 minutes because she has to look for her attendance sheet in her disorganized pile of paper. Tests are hard
Single worst professor I have ever had. Due dates are all over the place, she doesn't show up to class on time, and likes to assign homework and quiz two or three days before it's due (direct quote from her: "You have a whole weekend, what else are you going to do?") Do. Not. Take. Her.
better than most math teachers, don't let low ratings fool you... no one likes math. she isn't super organized with assignment due dates because there is a lot of material but she wants everyone to do well she is really nice. she gives extra credit and curves and bonus points all the time. she wants you to do well.
She is he best, is very patient, available in her office, and really likes the subject that she teaches and is one of the best at teaching statistics. Overall everything is clear and concise.
please please don't take this professor. TERRIBLE lectures that are very unclear, mean to students, tests are hard, very unclear grading criteria, will say the project is extra credit one class and then take it back and make it 10 percent of the grade next class. Not one person in my class has an A. Horrible
Literally the worst professor you could possibly take. All she does is read off a powerpoint. You basically have to teach yourself the course. While teaching she tends to yell at random times, thinking that it will somehow make us understand the content more. She is very rude to students, and does a very poor job answering questions.
MTH 246 -She is very knowledgable about statistics but a very poor teacher, has trouble listening to what students say and typically talks over them when they ask questions. Very rarely answers the question you asked. Is very bad at having a discussion she is the perfect example of the talking to a brick wall analogy.
She is very rude to students. She laughs and thinks she's being funny and lighthearted I guess but she brings up personal conversations between student and teacher in front of the entire class. She's also very stubborn and unorganized. Reads from her powerpoint a lot. Her exams were pretty easy if you knew the material but she's just a mean person.
I legitimately am not sure this person is an actual teacher, on multiple occasions she couldn't do basic addition and couldn't walk students through using the calculator properly either. She also actually walked out for about half an hour during the final exam, I didn't even know that could happen. I wouldn't trust her to teach me basic math.
Would not recommend taking her class if you are the type of learner who likes things to be broken down. Prof. Gamgoum rushed through material & made it difficult to ask questions. She would make you feel stupid for even asking. I had to seek tutors & teach myself the material. She uses ppts to teach material, had 3 exams & one final.
Sometimes messes up equations and tends to yell in class & randomly call out students :/ Used to sometimes walk in 10 min after class start time and ended like 5 min after end time. 2 projects which she doesnt explain how to do - i had to go to the tutoring cntr. Wayyy too much hw and doesnt announce deadlines till like 1-4 days before its due
Very hard to understand because of the language barrier. She would speed through lectures without clearly explaining the material. When answering questions she would confuse you more.
Very hard to understand lectures and wastes a lot of class time with her attempt to use technology. Test dates are changed around and not followed by the syllabus. She could be stubborn if you ask her questions and ask her to explain in further detail.
She is by far the most disorganized professor I've ever had. Not only does she walk in 15-20 minutes late every class period and doesn't start teaching until 15 after, she also managed to put our class so far behind in what we should be learning that we now have 4 chapters including tests, quizzes and ALOT of HW to catch up on in the next 3 weeks!!
I'll just say this. If you care to learn anything, If you care about your grades, please, don't take this prof. This is the most frustrating experience I've had at NOVA. There something that needs to be done about mediocre teaching style, changed due dates mid-course and the lack of involvement. I experienced all this and am very unhappy.
Frequently contradicts herself on terminologies & lacks ability to explain concepts she introduces or to convey clear instructions for major projects, but gets dismissive or confrontational when asked for clarification. Constant calculation errors in handouts & powerpoints. Changes test dates from syllabus, forgets to upload learning material.
She's a very nice and caring professor if you engage her. She's always willing to stay after class with you if you need extra help. She DOES NOT tolerate tardiness, but overall she's great and offers extra credit. If you're not willing to put in the work, don't take her Made stats fun for me, but she does speed through her lectures so pay attention
Her teaching style is disorganized and contradicts herself all the time. She would walk in late to class and makes us stay an extra 5 to 10 minutes after regularly. Her handouts are very confusing and not organized at all. Her MYStat lab quizzes were hard even if you put a couple hours of studying before. Had to self teach the material. AVOID!
The class is MTH 245, not 242. English is not her first language, hence; you'll have to be patient, ask her to repeat once more, or inquire her after class. Attendance is a must, never be late. You'll pass. She cares that her students want to pass this class. Majority of the tests and quizzes were online. Final is in person.
Had taken an online statistics class, and it was the most horrible class Ive ever taken. I got a D which is far away from As that I had in every other class. There is no explanation or help, just read the textbook and hope to pass the exam. No chance to make up for missing homework and that effects your test more since there is no other way learn
Took her during the COVID-19 Pandemic she has a big language barrier and if you asked questions you got more confused. After we switched to online classes it got worse and it was clearly shown she wasn't prepared. All the bad stuff she shows made it even worse I learned more on my own than by her She is a nice person but not a good professor at all
I am currently in Prof. Gamgoum's MTH245 class during the COVID-19 Pandemic. She has handled it much better than all the other profs I currently have. She is passionate about statistics and if you are willing to learn and be curious then you will succeed in her class. There are no free-bees with Prof. Gamgoum but you will pass if you try.
she's an okay teacher. online lectures were a bit hard to understand, but she did her best. I really appreciate Professor Gamgoum's efforts to teach us the material even though the transition from in class to online has been a little tough for everyone. MyMathLab was very helpful and gave explanations on how to solve each problem.
One of the few teachers I have not liked at my time at nova, would not recommend very disorganized lectures and tests unlike no other. Save yourself and Take someone else :)
Had her before and during covid, so we went to online classes for the rest of the semester back in March. Doesn't save her lectures online so you cant access them later because "you have to be here" (which is completely unfair because of emergency). Does not explain things well, if you ask a lot of questions she gets impatient and upset.
Dont take this class! Whatever you do. Go for another teacher. When asking questions she never answers clearly. She never has stuck to her schedule. Basically self-taught yet she says shes done so much for our class I could go on but just dont take her if you know whats good for you
I've never had a teacher this bad before. She does a terrible job at explaining the curriculum and she doesn't have any respect for her students. She never posts quizzes/exams when she says she will and then gets mad at us for not finding time to take said exams. Whenever we try to reason with her she just shouts at us. Avoid this professor.
Very poor organization and time management skills that made this class more difficult then it should have been. Disrespectful to students and then complained when no one wanted to participante. Lectures were very hard to follow. Started class before the start time and ended after end time. Did not finish course content by the end of semester.
Very rude, unorganised, rushed towards the end of the semester. Assigned a large project at the end that required you to use a program that she never bothered to teach us. Cuts students off and yells and scoffs at them when they try to bring up an issue. Please avoid.
Difficult to take in online classroom, not very accommodating during lecture and made us wait till end to ask any questions, which is difficult in a math class. Assigned random project over the weekend before finals week and did not explain how to use the required program, opting for a 7 minute tutorial video instead. Would not suggest taking
Professor Gamgoum is one of the most disrespectful teachers I have ever had. She is short tempered, not very understanding, and overall just flat out rude. For example, several times during the course, Professor Gamgoum scoffed and laughed when I got a question wrong or spoke up about something. She requires participation but discourages it.
Professor Gamgoum is easily the worst professor I have ever had. The material itself is simple but she somehow manages to make you more confused the more you attend class. If you must take it, I recommend treating it as an independent class and not attending. The lectures were wasted with her screaming at us for not participating. AVOID IF YOU CAN!
Quite literally the worst teacher I've had. Completely unorganized. The lectures won't help you whatsoever, she just makes it more complicated. Do the math labs and forget what she talks about in class and you'll pass.
Worst professor nova has to offer. Explains stuff so horribly your more confused after you asked than before, and when you ask questions about stuff she shouts at you in front of the whole class. Our class had to have the dean get involved because she posted a large project during finals with next to no instructions or how to use the tools expected
Professor Gmagoum is the best teacher I've ever had. She is super passionate about Statistics. Prof. Gamgoum is super caring and understanding about her students. If you are ever dealing with something personal she will understand. 10/10 TAKE HER CLASS YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!!
She is an ineffective professor. Expect you to do last-minute assignments towards the end of the semester. She yells at people who don't participate in class and uses a condescending tone sometimes during lectures. The only way to pass the class is to read the textbook and do the assignments.
Easily the worst professor I've had at NOVA. She spent most of our lectures yelling at us and took a month to get through the first chapter. She penalized our grades because she struggled with technology and as a result due dates were unclear. She expects the class to stay past the end of lecture so she can catch up and gets mad if you wont/cant.
This is my review of her class online. She didn't know how to use zoom so she kept having technical difficulties- which delayed class. She didn't have canvas or my lab set up properly to keep up when assignments are due (the assignments said they were from a year ago) which also meant she wasn't grading the assignments weekly.
Take her class if you want to fail statistics. She is not helpful. She gets annoyed if you ask for help and she is very unorganized and scattered. Wish I never took her class.
Not organized at all. Our class had issues accessing the powerpoint slides, and she didn't do anything about it and kept insisting that they were on mylab. Lecture time was always delayed by 20 minutes because she didn't know what to do. Even worse, quizzes and assignments didn't have any official due dates, but she still expected us to do them.
The worst professor I've had so far. Doesn't explain things in a clear way, and makes everything harder by rambling about unrelated topics. I had to teach myself everything. Take this professor if you want to fail stats.
DO NOT TAKE IF YOU WANT TO PASS. I was optimistic at first and understood the tech issues. However she is unorganized with unfair expectations. A professor who doesn't know how to teach, communicate, and rude when asked questions. Basically self taught. Semester is almost over, I regret not dropping sooner. I have never had a professor like this.
Professor Khadiga has a unique teaching style, but it's tough to engage with. Lectures can be disorganized, and she struggles with tech issues. For success, focus on the textbook, study sessions, and tools like unstuckstudy. Overall, a challenging course, but manageable with dedication.
