This is a prime example of a terrible professor that you want to avoid. He is very opinionated and will give you very poor grades if you do not translate the knowledge of the readings onto his essays into the way he sees it. I'm not sure if he is qualified to teach as a college professor. Read the terrible reviews first, he is very opinionated.

I'm gonna comment the tags I also would have selected: Respected, Hilarious, Accessible outside of class. He is super chill and understanding, and when people make comments or ask questions in class, he is never condescending. He gives great movie recommendations too. He is also the head of the department, so great for networking purposes.

I had Dr. Keshk as a professor for intro to Islam. All he really wants is for students to be engaged in the material. The class was not easy, and I did have to work for my good grade, clear rubricks given before every assignment. Be ready he will challenge you, but if you work hard it's a rewarding class.

Dr. Keshk is an incredibly inspiring and challenging professor. His course is quite reading heavy, but there are no tests. Instead, there's 1 small project, 1 group presentation, and 1 final paper. Dr. Keshk's discussions seem challenging initially, but he's incredibly approachable, quite funny, and every class is rewarding. 10/10 Recommend!

I can understand people being intimidated by Prof. Keshk, but he's actually a really funny and intelligent guy. Reading and participation definitely matters in his class, so take notes and ask questions if you aren't sure about concepts in the readings. Besides that, you're graded on a paper and a project, so participation definitely matters.

Best professor I have ever had at DePaul. This guy takes the time to get to know each of his students. Not many professors take the time to meet with students 1 on 1. There are a lot of readings, and he does test your understanding, but he does it all with a purpose. Very knowledgeable and not biased. Always made us laugh in class.

Professor Keshk is extremely knowledgeable but he doesn't hold that over his students' heads, he uses his proficiency to guide students throughout the course. This class was reading heavy but, they never felt like a chore. I always loved the discussions we had. Professor Keshk clearly cares about his students and I couldn't recommend him more.

Prof. Keshk may seem intimidating at first, but he's actually a really engaging and approachable instructor. The readings are substantial, but engaging with them and participating in class discussions is key. Unstuck AI has been a great study tool alongside the course materials.

Professor Khaled is very passionate about his subject and that comes through in the lectures. Is there a lot of reading and papers? Absolutely, but he is a fair grader and gives feedback. Don't go into this thinking it's going to be an easy credit, you'll have to put in time to learn the material.

Great guy and super into the material, makes sure his students are too and goes out of his way to ensure that. Definitely a lot of reading; could kind of get away with not reading a bunch of it as long as you prepare something to discuss and elaborate on in class; decently discussion centered.

Dr. Keshk is very knowledgeable about the subject matter and encourages students to push themselves. Multiple papers throughout are helpful towards the final paper. He was easy to reach outside of class and really good at explaining the readings. Pay attention during lectures, and incorporating the readings into your papers will be much easier.

Discussions are incredibly interesting, and he pushes you question all preconceived notions. Reading heavy class, and class is based heavily on readings. Tough grader, but I felt I actually was able to learn and improve from his feedback and as a result of his expectations. Be prepared to be asked in-depth questions on readings and presentation.

Really interesting guy who cares a lot about his class. If you have strong opinions on the course material, back them up. He'll grill you on things you won't think of, but he's fair and it's all in good nature. Lots of reading--don't skip any, if you don't have anything to say he will care.
