Hes a good teacher as long as u study on ur own. I had him for summer 2. He goes a lil too fast. You gotta practice alot on ur own. There are three exams, n each with bonus ques. I think he curves too. Over all a good teacher. You dont need a buk, He puts up all the slides.
He's hard to understand, and goes way too fast. I don't like classes in which the teachers are useless. I shouldn't have to teach myself. In this class, you will. He gives zero notifications of when things are due, he expects you to constantly check Learning Web, which he himself doesn't keep updated! Don't take him unless your really into physics.
we started with 25 ppl in the class..ended with less than 10.you must read the book daily and do the practice questions from the book and homework to pass the tests.make corny jokes with him and get on his good side and you might get an extra credit if you ask.4 tests in which he drops lowest grade.homework and lab every week.ask questions!goodluck
He is a good professor. He speak in a low voice so is barely audible but he does gives lot of information and is helpful. He has a great know;edge in physics and tests are easy just from the homework. three exams and 18 homework gotta do all of them and really good professor!!!
Good professor! Hard to hear but very helpful throughout the semester. You learn a lot from this class.
good teacher people take him
He has Power Points that you should print out before hand and write your notes on. He covers 18 chapters, but the tests are similar to the homeworks with plenty of extra credit. Do them! An interesting thing he would do was quiz us after the lecture. Made one pay attention, but it was hard to grapple the new concepts.I really liked this professor.
Pr.Bukhari is cool. This is a cuttingedge physicist professor but makes the hard subject of physics easy to understand with easy examples &firm principles.Do this:download his ppt lectures+study ppt with book's explanation beforehand+do &redo&REDO his examples(he gives the solutions).Has quiz after each class. So read prior class.Recommend.
He is a good professor & gives bonus questions on EVERY test for like 20pts. Just dont slack & u make aB or something. He doesnt bring new questions all from review or similar. i dont even study book only his questions. u dont need a curve.former commenter is wrong .
You never know what he expects from you in class. He grades the labs and tests and doesn't explain why he takes off for the things he does. His class is unorganized and not very structured so you cant fully understand why physics is the way it is. Suggest: Memorize how to do the hw and hope for the best on the test. Good luck; youll need it!
If you take lab+lecture,he expects you to know the concepts for lab before he even teaches it in lecture. So prelabs of something you've never learned are due in class. If you enjoy teaching yourself connecting the concepts with the equations, this prof won't explain how he grades or what he expects or how to even derive an equation in class b4 lab
Good luck trying to get an A in this class. No matter how meticulous you are with your labs, he will always take off points left & right with no valid explanation. Its like he wants you to fail. He even laughs at the expense of taking off points on other students labs, which is pretty sad and twisted. This professor wont set you up for success
if you wanna get physfrom a top nuc physisist this isthe class to take.you wannahigh school teacher then it is not.class feel like technical discussion at work, small concepts & problems.you gotta read text&study!!course is vastno classcancover it.pr.b tests ok(bonus)but u gotta do his exercises.this course isprob soolow(primitive)for his genious.
He is not good in explaining technical terms and never gives a right answer to pre and post labs unless you ask him. We had a midterm and the final both were difficult. A lot of homework and his grading are so harsh. I would not recommend this teacher to be honest, especially in the summer.
This guy is hard...
This guy cant teach!! he just reads the power point and explains nothing at all....Don't know why he's teaching at hcc! Not recommended!
Very clear and Helpful....He made sure everybody understand the concepts. Exams straight from homework....Curves too!!!
Goes through a full chapter each day. Way too fast for me to pay attention, but the assigned homework helps. The tests are difficult, but he's generous with partial credit. I like him, but be prepared to work hard and use a lot of time.
he is really easy. test is the same homework, just change number
He's a pretty chill guy, but tough lab grader. Must write reports for 12 labs, and he is not an easy grader. Pre lab quizes for each lab. Overall he was just alright. If you want an A you HAVE to put in effort.
Tough class, even tougher professor
Horrible teacher. Where does hcc find these professors is behind me. turned in my lab report and followed his interactions to the letter and he wouldn't give me full credit because he said he never gives full credit and your report can always be improved. Stay away from him you will regret it. Grader queen.
Labs reports are graded out of 45 points. He said, "I have never given a 45 in all of my years of teaching." This says it all. No matter what you do, you will never ever get a 45 because "reports can always improve" even if you follow all directions perfectly. He doesn't realize that him doing this for no reason messes up your GPA. Avoid him!
Tough grader, BUT if you follow his sample lab report exactly (I do mean EXACTLY), you *will* make a good grade on your reports. Only 2 tests (midterm and final). The reviews he gives are very *very* good. Drops 2 lowest lab grades. Important: he counted midterm as a lab, so you can have it dropped if you do poorly. Put in the work & youll be fine
He is the greatest professor ever. he knows his material very well and the way he teaches awesome. I totally respect him and like him because he deserves all of that. thanks Dr. Khalid for your help and saving my semester . Allah hafiez 3
awful awful. its physics, i needed guidance. he gives tests on things before we learn it to see what we know, what is that?!?!? i had to drop so my 4 oh wouldn't be ruined.
He's a very nice professor but his class is really hard. I had to get tutors because of this but this class still wasn't easy. His endless lab reports which are like 7 pages long and the first test class average was around 50. Don't take him. It will bring down your GPA.
He is a great professor. Loved his teaching method. Wish i would need physics II and i will take him again. His tests are hard but if you do not have a challenge how would you learn? Take him. I got an A :) though i really worked hard :P
took this class during summer 5 week. super fast paced class- but he is such a great professor. really knows what he's talking about. very nice about questions. explains very well. the only reason he has a bad rating on here is bc of the students who took his lab. he deserves a 4+ rating. he is nice about partial credit. learned a lot.
very good
if you really wanna learn physics, take him. he knows exactly what he is talking about and will explain anything.
The only Professor at HCC who knows Physics inside out and can actually teach better than anyone else at HCC. If you want to learn Physics, then take him, but he is not an Easy A professor. If you want an Easy A, find someone else at the cost of understanding physics. If you get an A in his class, you are already above university level like MIT.
He's nice, knowledgeable, and very respectful. Make sure to ask all the questions you need to clarify the materials. It's a pleasure to be in his class. Open-note quizzes after every chapter & you can work on them in groups. 4 exams & 1 cumulative final. The questions come directly from the quizzes & homework assignments. Do your work for an easy A
He is extremely knowledgeable about physics, his exams can be difficult but he's really good about partial credit. He is a very nice man, he cares about his students and is very respectful. The exams come from problems in class and the hw he assigns. You really need to have good study habits for his class. Ask questions! He will help you.
Took him over the summer for 5 weeks. 3 exams, 1 final, HW for 18 chapters, and quizzes at the end of every class. He was a great professor who explained all the material and worked out all the problems on the board. Also answers questions timely. Everything was graded quickly. It's physics, so you have to study if you want an A.
I took him for the 5 wee summer course. This class was very fast paced but he explained everything that needed to be explained in depth. I really appreciate how he gave partial credit for exams instead of just marking answers completely wrong. He is a very nice man, and he answers questions so one may understand. If you work hard, you'll be fine.
This guy really knows what he's talking about, and it's clear that he wants everyone else to understand Physics at the same level that he does. He's very caring and wants you to do well. I would have made an A in the class if I did more of the online homeworks. Really great guy, you will pass Physics 1 with flying colors if he is your professor.
His class is less than an hour and a half, we had a pre class quiz and then we had an after class quiz.. he did not give not one example in class. He pretty much reads the power points WHICH WE HAVE ACCESS TO! After students begged him to give us an example, he did one on the board and it was full of mistakes! So happy i swapped him out for a 12 wk
One of the best prof I've ever had. It's university level class so obviously you have to work for it. He cares about his students and is gives extra credit too.
Excellent instructor. Understanding and knowledgeable
Physics geniuses taking intro can probably rely on tests and lab reports to get a good grade BUT if you're like me and don't understand physics AT ALL class is pretty necessary because he has in-class quizzes over each chapter that can help your grade. DO NOT SKIP LAB. Tests are super hard, but easier if you understand all of the homework. DO HW.
I have to admit only few physic professor really know physics, and Dr Bukhari is one of them. He is patient, and he answers every questions you ask. We have 1 online homework+1 in-class quiz for each chapter, and total 4 exams. In conclusion, if you do want to learn physic, then take him. Otherwise, don't.
Super hard. Lots of quizzes and homework. In exam He gives a questions that you have never seen before. And you actually have to show your work, its not multiple choice. So horrible and very HARD grader.
Wanna learn Physics, this guy is the best one so far at HCC. Not sure why isn't he teaching at some great university.
Hard to understand his lecture
Took his summer 5 week course. He is a really great professor who cares about his students. Pre-class quizzes before every lecture which can get annoying, but are really easy. HW is long, but tests are easier than the HW. Come to class b/c there are in-class group quizzes, which are also simple. Answers and gives good examples in class.
His lectures were clear and test were based on the in class quizzes. Tests consist of around 7 questions and he uses the best 6 for the test grades. The one time the whole class did bad on a test he offered extra credit. He is always willing to help his students.
Really nice guy, super friendly and makes a real effort to help you. Physics isnt an easy subject but if you put in effort you will do well in his class
Solid professor overall, and really makes you work for your grade.
READ BEFORE TAKING! 1) HW (20 questions due every sunday, DO THEM SAME AS TEST) 2) Quiz given every lecture (due next class day) 3) Lab reports (avg. 7 pages not difficult, most split with group members) 4)DON'T READ BOOK.. NO! Lots of HW and quizzes and reports. Daily grades will save your grade and make the tests not weigh as much. Take him!
The lessons and the tests are totally different. His formula sheet sucks and does not help at all on tests. You cant even understand his accent. Do not take if you dont want to fail
Doesn't use the book and has awesome video tutorials. Drops the lowest graded question on the test and the lowest test grade. Assignments are worth a lot but they're not that hard. Great experience overall, 10/10 would recommend.
I wouldn't recommend taking him. he's very hard. His homework kills and you only get two attempts on the homework. also, he has pre-class quiz that is graded. so basically, he want you to teach yourself and take the quiz and he will only go through basic stuff in the class.
You will teach yourself the course. He has 3 separate days during the week when graded homework and quizzes are due. Many times you do not go over the material first. When you do, he goes over basic problems. Offers a lot of extra credit because many people fail. I enjoyed physics before taking his course. Very stubborn and unhelpful. Truly a shame
He is the nicest professor at HCC. Trust me. Don't listen to the lazy student with bad reviews. His test is based on review and homework. If you know how to do the homework, you will be good. The exam has 6 questions. 2-3 questions from the review. The rest is also from the review but he asks you in a different way. Same formula and way to solve it
DO NOT TAKE HIM !! he doesn't know how to teach. all he does is going through the formulas and give very simple problems as examples and that is it ! homework's are hard and long and its only 10% of the grade !!! tests are complicated .
If you fail his class, don't think about transferring to a university. Read the PowerPoint, take note of important formula, do the homework. You can try the practice problem bf do the homework. They are the same but different numbers. The exam is so much easier than other professors. Don't be lazy and hope to get an easy A class.
I took University Physics 1 with professor Bukhari the fall 2019 semester and did drop the class. But what I do want to say about him is that he genuinely cares about each and every single one of his students but Physics is just a really hard class period no matter who you take it with. He is a true genius and made me become confident in myself
gives an insaneeeeeeee amount of work especially for a summer class. do not take.
Hands down the best Physics professor I have ever had. He truly cares for his students and wants to help. Very accessible outside of class and responds to emails very fast. Switching to online teaching can be difficult, but Bukhari is doing a great job. He prepares us for the tests and they are easy. Take his class, well worth your time.
Pros: Exam is exactly same as hw. Easy to contact and helpful in class, lowest exam grade can be replaced by final, allows to makeup hw until end of semester with some points off Cons: Hw can't be found on quizlet. lockdown browser exams, need to show work on exams Overall: 4/5, nice guy
Horrible! Heavy homework assignments. Exams are HARD and look nothing like hw/test reviews. He is a tough grader and his lectures are fast and not helpful. If you want to fail and put your money down the drain then take physics with professor Bukhari! He will make you absolutely regret it. Never taking him again.
The lectures went by quickly but Professor Bukhari has prepared lecture videos going over more in depth for what you're learning. Those lecture videos saved my grade. The lectures provide examples you'll see in the homework, the test problems are reworked from the homework. Take this professor if you're serious about physics, this class difficult.
After the first exam, most of the students include me dropped this class. Peoriod.
The pacing of this class is terrible, especially if you have other heavy courses. Lab work every single week, along with a pre and post quiz. Manuals for labs are not even helpful. We even had a lab due the week before his final. If you can find someone else with a less busy workload schedule, I'd definitely go with them.
Class has a very heavy workload, but he's very understanding about deadlines. Keeps assignments open and doesn't take off for late submissions if you have something going on. If you don't want to do any work and want an easy A then don't take this. Weekly quizzes don't need lockdown, but final exam does.
I took his 5 week course, and it was honestly terrible. The exams are each 20% of your grade as well as the final, you have 3 exams plus a final, and then you have around 6 HW due a week. This class is heavy on material and homework, however the homework is hardly worth anything compared to the exams and we spend most time doing the hw. Do not take
Professor Bukhari is a great professor. i took him in my summer II, 5 week course. He explains the lab experiments so well. i used to have a lot of questions and he used to answer all of them without any sign of irritation. there is a lot of quizzed but its only 5-8 questions for every lab with 2 attempts. BEST thing A LOT OF EXTRA CREDITS.
By far the worst teacher I ever had in all my years of schooling. I took him for both University Lab/Lecture, most of my problems are from the Lecture. His rating is inflated due to his lab course as while its also work-intensive, lab reports are easy, got a B there. Every single bad review here is true. I'm used to bad teachers but wow. GPA killer
He takes the time to explain everything necessary and in detail (which is good for exams), gives examples so that the concepts are clear. No homework, some in-class quizzes, 3 exams and the final. Attend all his classes, take notes, do the reviews, and you will do well.
This is a hard Professor, a good portion of the class failed/dropped out. Do yourself a favor and find another class.
Out of all my professors throughout my undergraduate, Professor Bukhari was the worst I ever had. Between 3 hours of lectures 3 times a week, random quizzes in class with no way to make it up, and at least 10 homework due a week this class is a nightmare on top of being horribly taught. 3 exams and a final all heavily weighted. Take elsewhere!!!
Ok so I didn't pay attention to any lectures, however he does offer these chapter reviews that have questions that make up the bulk of the exam and I vigorously practiced them. So just practice the exam/chapter reviews and do the homework. He drops the lowest exam and replaces it with the final so overall I would say he's a good professor.
Took him over the summer for physics II, seems to be well informed over the subject and taught class well, did go deep into unnecessary topics that took up class time, but adjusted exams in case exam topics not taught in time. Read the textbook and redo all homeworks to prepare for exams. Prepare for lots of homework if taken over the summer.
not the best but also not the worst. prepare to do lots of homework. abt 8 a week. the tests were questions pulled from the hw but with different numbers so def know how to do it well and you will be fine. lectures are long and boring, spent a chunk of time on unnecessary things. emailing him for hw help makes you more confused so ask during class.
Prof is nice but this is a difficult class. Administers exams one question at a time so you cannot go back to previous questions. Exam questions are predominantly fill in the blank so if you round wrong or fail to use appropriate units, you will easily fail exams. He writes his own exams and the wording is hard to understand and feel unfamiliar
I took him for my physics labs and lectures and he is a good professor. Specifically because he offers these online chapter reviews that have practice questions that will appear on the exams and the questions are fairly dense so you learn a lot. Also the exam replaces the lowest exam grade. He offers extra credit too and is a very fair teacher.
You have to go out of your way to find a professor as bad as him. Very boring lectures, and will act like he wants to help you but if anything makes your situation worse. I had an internet issue during the exam and I ended up only having 15 minutes to take the exam, which are mainly free response. Please rescue your GPA and avoid this man!
Professor Bukhari is one of the most caring professors. He cares about his students making sure everyone understands the material and he welcome to answer questions. He gave many extra credit opportunities. If you pay attention to his lecture and do your work, you take an A. I am bad at Physics, but he makes me understand it. highly recommend him.
Online anytime summer semester. Was super easy as long as I paid attention to the lectures. Prof. Bukhari thoroughly explained everything and guided you step-by-step during the math parts. Exams are EXACT questions on the homeworks. Responds quickly to emails. No EC, or makeups. Best prof at HCC for physics, the others I've had don't teach well.
The highest exam 2 score for the whole class was 71. Everyone, except for one student, failed. A makeup exam had to be given for everyone to retake. I got a B for the semester.
Extremely bad lecturer with a quiet and monotonous voice. Fell asleep almost every class. Half the class drops by the second exam and the other half are not paying attention. Fortunately he gives lots of extra credit by the end of the semester to pass. Be prepared to teach yourself concepts.
Some may say he was boring but that's just physics sometimes. When prof Bukhari would work out a problem it was easy to follow and he would gladly answer any questions you had. I also found the videos provided online extremely helpful when I was struggling to understand. Exams are nothing crazy and are similar to hw and reviews. One of the best tbh
He laid out what was covered throughout the course simply, and went through each of the topics so we have an understanding of it. A simple but great professor.
This professor is very smart, caring, and funny. Exams were not difficult if you understood the material and focused during lecture. Its very easy to get an A especially on exams because he takes the best score from MCQ and FRQ. You just have to apply yourself and actually study.
Pre-class quiz and in-class quiz ever class. The worst in-person class I've ever had. Don't be deceived by the ratings, all the good ratings are for the high school level physics classes. This is a serious warning. If no other professors are available wait till the next semester to take physics and find a decent one. This guy is worse than bad.
Professor Bukhari is one of my favorite instructors at HCC. He is incredibly smart and highly knowledgeable. Exams are a piece of cake if you study, no tricks or traps. He is also very lenient and kind with students.
