This teacher sucks... DO NOT take this man! Enter at your own risk. He is very vague about assignments and not helpful whatsoever. Tests are very difficult. He adds in chapters which were not part of the study plan. He runs his class like a tyrant. He lacks interest in teaching and complains that he's only a part-timer. He lost my quiz and never
He is a terrible teacher! He tells you to study everything... and adds in material on test which he never assigned. He will deduct 5 points off everyone in class if he hears a cell phone ring. About 85% of his class were either not passing or barely scraping a "C". Look at other comment from csla.
This is the worst teach I have ever had. He shows no interest in teaching. His lectures are very boring and not helpful. He is hard to understand because of his heavy accent. He doesn't care how many people are passing or failing no breaks no curve. His tests are very difficult. I am an A,B student and I will be lucky if I pass with a C. He sucks!
Run for the hills!!! this guy is the absolute worst teacher on the planet. Boring lectures. Not a interesting teacher. Very difficult tests. 5 page research paper due at end of semester. No breaks no curve. You do the math.
this professor was rated unfairly. From day one & til end he continue to offer help to students in need by repeating his explanations re: topic + power points and made himself available at all times during office hours. He is excellent.
Very bad professor. Never take him. i regret that i took him. so guys listen to us if you want to get a good grade, do not take him. He seems very nice from outside but realy bad inside. 87% of our class got C.
He has a nice smile & Character but as A Teacher he is Not Nice at all, he is not very nice, he student lost family members in an accident and was absent and he failed the student, thats no nice. HIS lectures makes no sense neither does he, taking this class is advisable.
He is the best. I learned so much from him. Very interactive and fun class. You need to work hard but after taking this course you will know your physiology. If you are lazy and want to get a grade with out work, this class is not for you. Very approchable, kind, and caring individual. I worked hard and got A. You can do it too.
He is by far a great instructor...lots of interactive instructional tools to help students. He is very approchable and nice person. I wish all the instructors were like him. I highly recommend him. He is not easy but he will give you a lot of opportunity to improve your grade. This class was a positive experience for me...
He is very VERY rood and ill mannered. Someone needs to give him a cookie.
He is horrible. Can't teach at all and is not willing to help his students. I would never recommend this instructor to anyone. I've been a student all my life. but i've never seen such a jerk. BEWARE!!!!!
He doesn't have a soul, someone should talk to him regarding the way he addresses students. He doesn't care if your child is sick or not and as a student and a parent at the same time.. run for your life. I truly believe that he is making this class hard on purpose.. why!
He is one of the BESTs, sure, just like any other class, not every one will do well in his class (you can tell that from some of the reviews), but I think he has a gift for teaching and well the rest is up to you.
Dr.Khollesi is an excellent teacher & very professional. He will not play favorites, you make your own grade. He will provide you 100% of information + excellent tools + his time during office hrs. He is a very serious professor that wants his students to learn. He is strict for a reason.... he wants you to learn & not spoonfed.
i think professor khollesi is great. he is very helpful when it comes to understanding the material.
An easy teacher if you memorize his powerpoint notes for his tests...doesn't really teach very clearly but is very helpful...most girls in my class thinks he's hot...
Great teacher. Is willing to help you understand material, all you have to do is ask.
He is great
Excellent teacher. Clear, concise. Expects attendance & to study for quizzes/tests & know concepts. Will not spoonfeed, but will give all tools and opportunities to suceed. Will creatively engage your mind to think of human processes. Learned so much, one of the BEST science classes i've taken. Don't take his class if your lazy or don't study.
He is extreamly hard when it comes to test taking, his labs are long but not so bad. He requires mandatory attendance to both lec and lab, he can tell if your trying so hell cut you slack and try to help you as much as he can. He has a website with power point notes print them and know them.Science is so hard for me but i made it!
he can't teach!!!!deducts 5 points for the class just bec some idiot had his cell phone rang & he pretend to not to see who are the cheaters... I saw those cheaters!!they got an "A" for an ass
not helpful
Excellent teacher, very smart. The class will only be hard if you don't study. He doesn't tolerate lazy students or cheaters. But If he knows that you are really trying he will help you. I got an A (Physiology).
Professor Khollesi is strict for a reason... he wants his students to deserve the grades and really internalize the information. He's helpful as long as you ask questions in a respectable manner. I recommend his class if you really do want to learn. Not an easy A class but it is do-able
He is really serious in attendance. He doesn't really teach well.
Presumably you are taking the class because you want to learn the material, in which case, you will learn if you take Dr. Kholessi. The classes he teaches should not be easy A's as they pertain to the health profession. You can get an A or B if you study consistently and attend every class/lab. Would definitely take him again.
This professor is onw of the most incredible in all LACC..He make his class so good....a lot of help and many 7 am lab's for whoever need the help...no other pro. will do that
You have to work hard but he will help you if you ask. Answers questions clearly. Anatomy lectures are a bit dry. Gives you a list of what you need to know, and you'd better know it all. Very hard lab tests. Class involves dissecting a cat. Work hard and you will earn a good grade. Talks tough (is tough) but will help you all he can.
Interesting lectures. Loves his topic. You have to work hard to earn a good grade. If you approach him he will help you and answer your questions. Expects you to learn what he lectures about, and to get along with other students. Don't take him if you want a free pass. He wants you to be prepared for nursing or med school. Great teacher.
If you really want to LEARN anatomy look for another teacher. He reads off power points written by another college only once. He keeps saying how only 10 people will make it to the end. His labs are very little hand on. His exams are NOTHING like his lectures. This guy wants you to fail so he has less work to do. I am an A student but had to drop.
His English is poor so hard to understand. loves to cram chapter after chapter.I teach high school and can not believe LACC is so desperate to hire someone who does know how to teach well and check for understanding. I would take the class with someone else!!
Disregard the negative comments about Prof. Khollesi. He is an amazing instructor for students who are willing to work hard to earn the grade. The material is extensive, but you can master the labs by attending open labs and the objective exams by reviewing the online lecture notes. Every resource is provided to succeed. Take advantage of them.
He's useless knowledge, tests are confusing because the questions are very specific. even when you follow lecture notes and study the test is too specific. It doesn't help that he has a heavy accent, he grades on a curve. Class is too fast for the material covered. AWFUL
One of my favorite professors. Very down to earth. Good people. Everything you need to get an A is in his notes online. Lets you know what you need to learn. It's a lot, but there are no suprises. Tests are graded promptly. A+
I LOVE prof khollesi. He is helpful and extremely intelligent. To those who are "A" students yet grade him poorly on here...the only reason you probably have your A's is b/c you take easy teachers. He gives you everything you need to pass in the lecture notes. Study those and your golden. I had him for anatomy 1 and now for physio 1. He is a mentor
Professor Khollesi is a very serious professor, like Prof Gonsalves but without the humor - much more dry! He is easy to understand and is very knowledgeable. He is VERY straight forward, has clear expectations, does not appreciate late or tardy students. Does not suffer fools gladly. Only for serious students.
Lecture tests are based on online PP notes. This class requires A LOT of studying. . . . I study at least 1- 2 hours every day and I have an A. He doesn't like to be asked too many questions, other than that, not too bad. Ask his assistant to elaborate on concepts if needed.
This professor has lost his passion to teach this subject he is lazy and says we don't need the textbook when we really do because the questions are about the minutia of everything. He clearly does not enjoy teaching and his explanations don't stick physiology is already hard and he makes it harder, i wish someone else taught the evening classes!!!
A serious and tough professor: avoid him if you want an easy A. But if you want to learn your subject, this is the one you want to take. Note: he says in class that the exams are based on lectures, but you still need to buy the text (or read it several times at the library.) If I am in a hospital, I want Prof Khollesi's students to treat me!
Great teacher, lots of enthusiasm, clear explanations, good sense of humor! The subject is difficult and complicated. It requires work to understand. Course is for students going into health fields - if you find it too difficult don't go into health care please! I wasn't originally interested in the subject, but I found the course fascinating.
Excellent!!Knowledgeable about material, helps students who ask & guides them on how to better understand material. Not an easy class, don't take unless you're serious about studying. Material presented is intense. Power point slides & study guides provided. 3 exams, quizzes, 1 lab & lec final, research paper. Study!!
The best proffesor ever. Took anatomy and physio in both got A. Subjects are hard but his explonations are very clear. Thank you professor.
Dr. Khollesi is the epitome of the quintessential college professor. He is not only understanding but extremely helpful. Enough said!!!
By far the best and most helpful teacher. He is dedicated and help you. If you are lazy and don't want to learn don't take him. A lot of work but you learn so much. If you want to go to a helthcare field then take him. I took a lot of bio classes and he is by far the best I have ever seen. Those people that cheat and don't study rate him low.
the best, nice guy and well prepared, mentor and helpful. Do not use cell phone in his class and be on time. You don't want to miss his lecture. very informative
He is a very serious professor and honest. He does his best to help you. it's up to you to succeed. The best I ever had.
Great professor. Learned a lot. If you are not serious and don't want to learn, do not take him. turn your cell off and pay attention. By far best sience professor I ever had. You should take courses with others to be able to understand the quality he teaches. Students that want easy A and don't want to work hard for it rate him low!
VERY professional. Teaches at a University level.Has high expectations unlike so many LACC prof. Does not waste class time talking about his personal life or opinions, starts on time, ends on time.Gives review sheets with plenty of time to study.DO NOT SLACK off, this is not the kind of class you can recover from.First test is the easiest.
no surprises during the test, he tests only on what he covered during the lecture. Always attend his pre test lecture, he will cover almost every question. Check his website he has all the study guides! get yourself a good study group and you'll be fine. You will have to turn in your lab book at the end, answer every question!
By far the best Instructor. you will learn a lot. Do not cheat, he will know and get even with you at the end. Very freindly and professional. I love his examples. Always on time, wished other teachers were like him
THIS IS THE REAL TRUE ABOUT THIS PROFESSOR: HE IS THE BEST, HE IS STRICK, WALKING ENCICLOPEDIA, I LOVE HIM THE BEST FROM LACC DON'T WASTE TIME WITH OTHER PROFESSOR, THIS PROFESSOR IS THE NUMBER 1, HE GIVES YOU NOTES FOR EVERY SINGLE LECTURE, HIS TEST SUPER EASY IF YOU STUDY, HIS NOTES AND YOU TAPE RECORD HIS LECTURES YOU WILL GET AN A, I LOVE HIM
Great person...cares about students and answers all the questions until you understand it...he give you many opportunity to improve. Laways on time and he finish on time.
extremely organized, uses animation, model, computer technology, and other web sites to teach you. If you are not serious and you are not plan to study hard do not take him. I think he is great and you will know you anatomy:)
Very organized, sticks to his syllabus so you know exactly what's coming or what you missed if you're ever out. Read before class to enjoy lecture. Everything you need is on his website, including all study guides. His class is not easy but he is very fair & you will learn because this is not the kind of class you can pass w/out studying.
He is one of the BEST professors in Lacc.He genuinely cares about his students and is clear with his lectures. You need mastering a&p not the book, he sorted the book for you in his slides making life much easier! He will not test what he does not cover. There is plenty of time to know the material before tested.Study guides and all.Hands down #1
Professor Khollesi is a looot of work but it's all worth it! There's gonna be 4 exams with an essay question and 45 mc. You need to attend every lecture, and dedicate enough time to prepare for his exams. I got an A and had no weekends at all, but I learned so much. I'm very grateful to professor Khollesi. He is top quality!!!
Took him for summer. Great teacher albeit it was a hard class since it was condensed. The great thing is that you learn a lot in his class. NEVER be late to his class, record his lectures, and study hard & you'll get an A.
He is an excellent professor, Honestly I dont think there is a better proffessor at LACC for teaching Anatomy then him. Even though I got a B in his class, I have learned so much that I cant complain. His lecture test were difficult but practicals were easy as long you understand! Thank u Professor :)
Brace yourselves because Physiology is tough! That being said, professor Khollesi is an amazing teacher. I had to work my butt off for my A but I have learned so much. He assigns a lot of group work and quizzes, so choose members wisely. Stay on top of your lab book & research paper or you will be yanking your hair out at end of semester.
BEST PROFESSOR AT LACC EVER! HE IS AMAZING, GREAT TEACHER, NICE GUY, AND PATIENT. HE WANTS HIS STUDENT TO LEARN ABOUT PHYSIOLOGY. U HAVE TO WORK UR BUTT OFF TO PASS HIS CLASS. U MIGHT CRY BUT HE IS WORTH IT TO HAVE AS A TEACHER AND MENTOR. IF U REALLY STUDY AND ON TOP OF EVERYTHING IN HIS LECTURE,U WILL PASS! I WILL TAKE HIM AGAIN IN A HEART BEAT
I highly recommend him if you planned to screwing your GPA!
Physiology is a tough subject in general and it definitely takes your full attention and focus. Although there was a lot of work that is expected of you, as long as you keep up with the reading and do not fall behind it is manageable. Khollesi will make sure you do not fall behind anyways by his weekly pop quizzes. Worth taking!
Spoke as if all the information was common sense. I had to read the whole book to keep up. Quizzes pretty much every week. I would say if you really want to learn take another class.
I know he's reading the comments because he writes all of good comment for himself. I hope he changes his way and stop being a devil.
Physiology is already a hard subject and he makes it very harder. He jams power point slides one after another which is written by another college. He discourages students all the time and blames students for everything. He's not helpful at all.
Also he is very aggressive , if you ask him a question , the way he answers your question is very intimidating so you're gonna learn never ask him anything and just leave him alone!! He doesn't care about students at all. He has no soul he's an evil believe me stay away from him!
just give him a gift card and he's gonna give you an A!!!
Anatomy 1 Cons: He is VERY stingy with extra credit. He is very tricky with his tests. he test are also VERY hard! he is the only teacher that requires you to know histology pros: His lectures are full of good information(not that you need it for anatomy). He is very clear about concepts.
Great teacher. One of the best. I can't believe some of the comments I read. I do know few students were caught cheating and they got what they deserve. Big fat F. They are probably getting him back by putting those comments. He does not favor anyone . He is fair and treat everyone the same. Do not cheat in his class. I learned a lot. Thank u.
He is well known and all you have to do is ask other students who took him. Don't rely on few bad comments from bad students. You will learn a lot. I just took his class and it was intense summer course but I had lots of fun learning. He should be teaching in Harvard. Great lectures and cares about students. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.
It was a privilege to take his class. You need to have some science background and passing grade in Anatomy. I enjoyed all the lectures. He gives a lot of examples so students could relate to. His unique style of teaching and technology was very helpful. This class is not suitable for lazy students who want to cut corners. Thank you professor.
Great Teacher. Be prepared to do the work and you're experience will be rewarding.
First thing first, if you're taking a class like Anatomy or Physiology, be prepared to work. Those classes will be a nightmare with any teacher. With that in mind, he tries his best to be as clear as possible & always answers questions. B/c English is like his 4th language his grammar might make what he's saying a little vague. Many people failed.
I took both Anatomy and Physio with Professor Khollesi. It is not an easy A but if you work hard you will learn SO MUCH! He is very fair and really wants you to learn. He will do whatever he can to help you, he is very kind. His tests are straightforward. If you are serious about a career in medicine you should take his class. It's helped me a ton.
I had Professor K for Anat and Physio. I learned SO MUCH! He's a great teacher, he'll push you to do your best. He really wants you to learn and he is very helpful. I am so grateful to him, and I made friends in his class who feel the same. If you are going into healthcare take him. You will be much better prepared for the road ahead! He's great!
He's a good guy. He's relatively clear and straightforward. Took him at CSULA bio 100C.
He's a nice guy and a good professor. He has time during class when you can go up to him and ask him questions. And if you learn from watching things several times, he lets you record lectures... Also, he uploads his PowerPoint's with notes online. Super organized. Straightforward tests. 3 tests. 1 final. 4 practicums...
Physio is a difficult subject, Professor Khollesi is an amazing teacher. Take good notes he gives it organized and well defined. There are graded problem solving activities in the course which are challenging and interesting. Really cares about his students learning. Great teacher, would make an excellent author of our textbooks!
I learned so much. He goes into detail and gives you different opportunities to do well. Teachers that care for their students are hard to come by and he is definitely one of them. I wished I had more time to study. Case study helped me to use my thinking process. Thanks professor. You are awesome.
He explain everything in a simple way and gives examples for you to understand. Highly recommend for students that want to learn the concepts. I do not recommend for students with weak science background and they don't have time or dedication to study. Many of my friends who took him are transferred and they all say he is the best. Thank you.
I took many science classes with different instructors. He was the most dedicated and caring teacher I had. It was a privileged to be able to take his class. I learned so much from him. Thank you, thank you , thank you. ...I will be transferring soon and I know I will be fine in physiology.
Great professor. Explains the material VERY well. The book isn't necessary--he tests on his lecture material, so don't miss a class. No "surprises" on exams---It's all been covered. If you pay full attention in class, you'll understand the mechanisms and do well. If you're one of those people who don't pay attention: good luck. You won't do well.
Exams are really hard. You need to put in time for this class. He is an excellent teacher, tries to be funny. He gets annoyed with student asking while he is lecturing. If you want to like really master Anatomy, take this class otherwise take the easier classes which is not his. All his lecture exams are based on the powerpoint he presented.
Genuinely cares that students learn. Is pretty accessible. The material is intensense but interesting and he provides many examples so you can understand. You can't be lazy and not read or study if you want to pass his class.
thank god Prof. Khollesi allow me to add into his winter physio class. His lectures are amazing. It is amazing how much I learned from Prof. Khollesi in just 5 weeks. I think I am bit smarter now :). He is the best teacher I ever had. thank you professor Khollesi for an awesome learning experience and thank you for continue to teach.
Thank you. I learned so much in 5 weeks. It was interactive. If you are not a good student and you don't have a science background or you barely passed anatomy, don't take him. He will get the most our of you so prepare to work hard and you will learn so much. He is fair and very professional.
I took this class for winter and there was a lot of material in a very short time. He is very considerate to the students. Gives study guides before the exams. There is a lot of group work so make sure you choose the right people to work with. Lectures are interesting also he is kinda funny too always has random jokes in between. I learned a lot.
Great teacher, really breaks down concepts. DRAW THE PICTURES WITH HIM! You will really understand the fundamentals. Study off lecture notes. Do homework and practice quizzes. If you try you will get a great grade. I worked full time and went through winter session and got an A. Follow my advice and you can get the same.
He is tough to understand. I really struggled in his class because his lectures were very fast paced. However, he gave me so much help and he is a tough grader, but fair.I passed his class.I thought I was going to do terrible, but he really helped out and wanted me to learn the material. I underestimated him. He was a good teacher.
I took his Physiology class during winter session. Winter session alone is tough because of the short time. Everything he lectures will basically be on his exam. Pay attention to his lectures. He is very helpful and funny. I had great classmates that were also helpful. As long as you pay attention and do your work you will do fine.
I took this class for the 5 week session, and it's a great option if you want to crank out general physio in a short amount of time. You need to go to lecture everyday, take notes from printing out the slides, and draw with him. He really looks out for the students and tries to make it as clear as possible. If you put in the work, you can get an A
Professor did not explain what he really wanted, he does not speak English well enough to teach.
This class requires a lot of work. The exams were not easy!! I recommend to pay attention to his lecture and record it. It saves a lot of time when studying for the exam. Before reviewing a chapter I would listen to the lecture and then review my notes, so like that I would make sure to go over what he lectured on.
He is a brilliant professor, and clear about what he expects you to know for exams. He really wants you to understand the material! If you're like me and haven't taken bio or chem, try to avoid the 5 week session; I found it hard to keep up with so much 'foreign' material in such a short time, but that's not the prof. fault, just a tip :)
For those who are going into nursing and have to take the TEAS VI exam. His class really prepared me for it. I got 90% on anatomy and Physiology alone in the TEAS VI. His lectures are on point he is very knowlegable and encourages you to understand material rather than memorize it. He has a dry sesnse of humor. He made me work for that A.
Professor Khollesi cares about his students & wants them to succeed. The class isn't easy and requires a lot of work and dedication if you want a good grade. I recommend recording his lectures as it helped me out a lot.
He seems bothered when asked questions. Homework every week. He doesn't have the patience to explain.
This guy does not know, and does not want to explain how physiology works. Prety much you're on your own. You have to go home, read and start all over whatever he lectured about. Lab book is useless.
Taking him for the 5 week session was a great choice. I learned so much and he made sure we understood all his material. I strongly suggest you record his lectures and take good notes. Attendance is mandatory. If anyone is taking this class for a nursing prerequisite you should already know how important this class is and should take it seriously.
He's a tough grader. He doesn't explain very well, most of the students are confused after every class. He doesn't give extra credit. Tests are extremely difficult. Homework is hard and due every week. A few group projects, and case study tests which are difficult too. I know physiology is a hard subject, but he makes it even harder.
I took this class during 5 week winter break. Because I have a strong science background, it was not difficult at all. Yes, you do need to study every day and put an effort, but it was not as bad as I thought it would be. Khollesi would repeat the material over and over for those who did not understand. Read the book, and you'll be fine.
ADVISE: Record the Lecture- take fotos of his drawings go home & transcribe his audio word for word!! Recreate his drawings for ur notes!! Study from MasteringOnline practice quizzes tremendous help! Watch visual videos of the topic over & over!! Go for a walk & listen to audio! Got C grade for exam 1&2 until I did the recording Got A overall grade
For those serious about professional school i.e med, nursing, dental, pharm, etc definitely take him. Im currently in a doctorate program and I constantly refer to his old notes and wish he was teaching my current course. He knows his trade very well and can make the most complex topics simple. Pay attention, read, and you're golden! Happy Studying!
He is brilliant and I learned so much from him. He is not an easy A, but why should physiology be easy? We are learning how to save lives. It should be hard and complex. He breaks down the body and our systems in a way that you can understand. I would take his class over again in a heart beat. If you want an A, you can make an A.
Excellent professor, really knows his material and lectures are full of information. Best advice is to record his lectures because he goes through a lot, fast. I took the summer course for 5 weeks. Pop quizzes- but lets you know when they are usually. Physiology is a hard course in general so be prepared to study outside of class a lot!
I took physiology during the 5 week summer session. I highly recommend taking it with Professor Khollesi. He really helps his students understand the material by using real life examples. It was nice when he tried to make the class more interesting by throwing jokes here and there that helps you stay interested and awake during his lecture.
I took him for anatomy 1 during fall 2017 and I just love his lectures. Really clear. Study hard for all his practicals and tests. Tests are really simple and easy if you studied. There are 4 practicals and 4 written Exams. Including final. Drops the lowest score from either practical or test. Looking forward to take him for Physiology!
I strongly recommend you to take professor Khollesis class. He is a nice person, willing to help students to success!!! Although his standard is high for students but thats how you can really learn it. Amazing lecturer , expalins the key points well. I took both Anatomy and physiology class with him. He encourages you to pass the class!!!
Professor Khalil is the best!!! It's anatomy so don't expect an easy A. It's totally possible but you will have to work for it. The textbook is not required and he gives you access to all his online PowerPoints. He also offers extra credit and is very clear as to what to expect on the exams. 4 practicals and 4 exams, he drops the lowest score.
Professor Khollesi is the best. I learned a lot about physiology. The class was not easy and required a lot of work. Record his lectures, as the exams are based on lectures. If you work hard you can get an A. I enjoyed his lectures.
Anatomy is tough, and requires a lot of memorization. If you work hard and are respectful, he will answer your questions and try to help you. His lectures can be confusing, but I would read the textbook and look up Youtube videos to clarify points. Compared to the rest of LACC options for Anatomy and Physio, convinced he is the best option.
Physiology is not easy but his lectures and real life examples makes it fun and easier to understand. There will be a lot to do and read but you have 4months. Getting an A can be possible if you follow him and do whatever he asks for. HIGHLY RECOMMEND him. you'll LEARN. There will be LAB works, a group presentation and fair tests and final.
No textbook required, he tells you what will be in the exam, it is hard & have to study and memorize everything, he gives you access to google drive and it contains all material needed to pass, record his lectures and listen to them when commuting, he gives fun quizzes online that aren't graded but to get an idea of what to cover more.
Its so interesting to me how hes writing all the good comments for himself like a 10 years old child! Take his class then youll know.
Professor Khollesi is a real gem we need to have more professors like him in Lacc . I wish all my professors were like him . Beside his great lectures he has a great personality . I really enjoyed his class ( anatomy and physiology ) . His lectures are unique and easy to understand. Thank you professor Khollesi !
Took over the winter. Such a great class. RECORD the lectures and rewrite your notes. Don't buy the book he gives you everything you need. The powerpoints are confusing at first but look over them then relisten to his lecture. Test questions are critical thinking, so you really understand the material. Memorization won't help you.
I worked as hard as I could through his class and received the A I deserved. I am so glad I took Khollesi for winter semester and would recommend the same to anyone. He is progressive, caring and agreeable. If all professors were Khollesi quality, my GPA would be alot better!!!
He will do his best to help students pass
He is simply amazing , breaks physiology down for students to understand. Dont try to memorize you need to understand concepts in his class. I was thinking of dropping class after first exam. Thanks God I stayed and got a B. I learned so much in his class. Thank you professor.
Professor is really good, and he is very organized. He will give you everything that is on the test and on lab exams
The best teacher to take physiology from. He is very organized, and has slides to go over his lectures (print all those & record his lectures). He made it easy to learn from. Take him! You will not regret it.
I really enjoyed his class.I learned so much about the human body, almost considered applying for med school. I did some practice test and some of the stuff that we learned were on the test questions. I got A's in all his test and even got a perfect score on one because hes just a great teacher and his test are very fair.
He was amazing!!! Very clear and understanding. I highly recommend if you want a good grade in physiology.
Great professor
He is so sweet! Dont need textbook, follow his lectures and you will pass.
Took during summer. Be ready for a ton of information
Best Prof EVErrrrrrrr. Commons sense is all that is needed!!!
Funny
I very good at providing understandable, daily analogies that help you understand the concepts for physiology. Very great professor.
The Professor is an amazing teacher! He will go into detail and explain concepts in a way thats practical and easy to understand.
Great prof!! Highly reccommend him
Great course ! Teacher is pretty hilarious. This was a difficult class but this professor explains it as clearly as possible. Highly recommend !
Professor Khollesi was a very intelligent and inspirational teacher. Lots of work to do within a summer class but he was very thorough and helpful. Give your best effort, study, and youll do great!
Awesome professor!! Explains everything to the T. Lectures are fun and interactive. Take this professor if you really want to learn and understand with ease.
One of the best. I already have a master's degree and have met many great professors throughout my career and education. He is one of the best. He does a lot for the students. I could really tell teacher is a passion for him.
Professor Khollesi is an excellent professor who cares about his students. He is committed to educating more people so that society can benefit from more educated professionals. Without a doubt, this class was the hardest I have ever taken but I am so grateful to have had a professor who made it fun to come to class.
This is a an introductory physiology I class and its in the summer, so dont expect to slack off. There will be lots of material in a short amount of time. Group packets, presentations, quizzes, tests, and a paper are expected. So if you wanna work in the summer and learn, take this class.
Hes a great professor! Very caring and informative and knowledgeable
Beware of a lot of pop quizzes but overall he is very passionate for this subject which makes it fun to learn. The subject itself is hard but if you put in the work and study every chapter you will pass!
Great experience very difficult class as it was a summer course
Im so happy I took Khollesi for Physiology. Im waiting on my grade now and I dont know what it is yet but an A is absolutely achievable. He has a great way of simplifying concepts and his exams were deficient fair. 50 questions each. Final was 82 questions but you only had to fill out 75 and pick 7 not to answer as feeebees. Very inspirational!
I took Professor Khollesis physiology class during the summer session and loved it! Hes enthusiastic and knowledgeable and uses real life examples to solidify your understanding of the material. Hes very fair with grading and does his best to explain your questions thoroughly. Overall, hes a fun guy and I really enjoyed his class!
Best Professor ever!!!!
Very good instructor, one of the best! He will make you understand it without having to read too much, making science fun, although he is a critical grader but other than that hes really good!!!
He's well prepared and a awesome instructor
I took this course over the summer (5-weeks). Very intense course, but Professor Khollesi made it easy to undserstand concepts. He integrates everyday examples into his lectures so you can remember concepts easily. You can tell he loves what he does. Highly recommended and would take him again!
Took this class over summer. Lots of hw fast paced class. Extra credit given at end of semester. But if you attend class and study you will pass this class.
Amazing Professor in LACC!! Study hard then you will be fine
Great professor! Took him during the summer session. Super fast pace but hes great at communicating the subject. He stays consistent throughout the session. Group work is fun. Analogies and fun stories keep lectures interesting.
Having Khollesi as my professor was a great learning experience. He is extremely knowledgeable and loves to teach! I would definitely take him again. I went back to school after a 10 year hiatus, Khollesi made it enjoyable and worth every single quiz, homework, assignment, test and inumerous hours of studying! Hes a 10 + teacher!!
Very great professor points evenly distributed so no need to worry about messing up on a test
Great teacher. Summer Class. Teaches physiology so much easier than other professor. Wish i would've studied better during the summer. If i would've studied the material each day for one hour, my quizzes, and case studies, and test would've greatly improved. Failed one test, but I was still able to pass the class. Easy A if you review 1 hour.
Informative and fun. He has a very humorous personality, and throws in jokes here and there. He makes times for his students, and periodically announces he is here to teach, and that he is happy to answer questions. I was going to give up because I thought I would fail, but I stuck around and pushed through. He made physiology fun. Highly recommend
He's an awesome professor. Really cares about his students! And all of his lectures are amazing because he ties in examples to real life experiences. This class is a lot of work, but ANY Science class always will be and requires lots of studying on the students behave. But very worth it you'll leave this class with lots of knowledge if taken!
Went above and beyond to help us understand difficult concepts and was very patient. Would definitely recommend since he puts the effort to make learning interesting and engaging. Be prepared top be quizzed on the material and make sure to study before going to class. Overall a great educator!
Took him for physiology and anatomy. Book is not used or needed. He provides slides and study guides. Record his lectures. Use his slides to go over at home. Highlight what he went over.
This class moves extremely fast, so don't fall behind ever. Read the chapters several times before tests, and do practice quizzes (start studying day 1). Prof. is very kind and helpful. always ask questions!
Very organized, tells u everything u need to know. U always know whats going to happen. Its not an easy class u need to work hard n do lots of reading n studying. He strives to make you understand rather than memorize. Great examples. He will explain again if you dont get it. I really loved n enjoyed his class n he was hilarious with his jokes.
Professor Khollesi is someone who wants to see his students succeed. He will incorporate life lessons and experiences into his lectures. I took his class over the summer and it was very intense. There is alot to do but he prepares you and walks you through it. He does not require memorization; make sure you understand concepts. Pay attention to lec
Summer class. Go over his material, recommend a laptop, write everything step by step. GO HOME AND SAY EVERYTHING YOURSELF STEP BY STEP. Do his assignments and quizzes. Trust, you'll get that A. Do this for about 2 hours a day. Trust, he teaches and makes concepts way more easier to understand. He can be funny too. I got lazy halfway thru class
I took this class in Summer, was pretty intense. Physiology is not easy subject! Prepare yourself to succeed. Record Professor's lectures, take his notes and drawings, and re-listen his lectures and retake the notes, then you will get A. He explains the topics easier and helps you to understand. Take him!! I definitely recommend him.
I just took this course for the summer session. Professor Khollesi did an incredible job covering such dense material in five weeks. He explains everything thoroughly. I rarely had questions, but he will help if needed. He tells you everything you need to know. He is very passionate about teaching! I would take his course again. Thank you!
Straightforward class, If you know, you know. If you don't know, you don't know. Group participation are very critical so I suggest you to find a group with smarties. Especially the group presentation towards end of the semester, this is were you can boost your grade significantly(its even on the syllabus).
I wouldn't have passed this class if I took it with another professor. He answers any questions you might have and thoroughly explains all the material he tests you on. He sincerely cares about his students and wants us all to pass, therefore providing extra time in class to review. He lets you know what is going to be on the exams.
Professor Khollesi is the true definition of an educator! He wants to see you succeed and will be there to guide you. He makes you work for your grade and is very straight-forward and direct. Study on average an hour or two a day and you will succeed. Wish more professors were like Professor Khollesi.
Great lecturer, thoroughly explains material. Didn't need the book since all the test material are on his slides. Announces pop quizzes. Term paper due at the end of the semester with a group presentation. Labs are fun. Study outside of class 2-3 hours/day to get an A. Attendance is taken. Cares about his students doing well. Would take again.
GOOD PROFESSOR OVERALL... make sure to read and study at home, work on the labs and group activities regularly or youll have a lot to catch up on at the end. Also start working on paper and group presentation sooner rather than later to have time to study for final...
Nice teacher, let's you work independently so you need to be self motivated to get through the class but he really wants you to succeed.
If you need good knowledge in Physiology - this is your Professor! But be ready to do your best, better to do all labs and group activities in time, it will helps you to understand material and be better on quiz and exam. He turned his "case study" into funny and smart quest , he really enjoying his job and happy if you can get it. Good luck!
I just took Khollesi for Phys1 during Winter. Doing the entire course in 4 weeks was death. Most nights, I was LUCKY if I slept 2-3 hours. He doesn't remove much of anything just because the course is shorter. That said, I loved his class. He's clear & concise. His lectures make the material easy to understand. VERY fair grader. I miss the mayhem.
Im going to miss this class He literally is the best professor in the science department ! he acts scary the first few days but DONT DROP even when he threatens you to, he gets nicer. take advantage of the tutors. the lab packet due at the end boosts you up a letter grade too. you have to work for the grade but dont worry youll do fine
Thank you very much for the Spring semester 2019 in LACC! It was a great time and a lot of FUN. Appreciate for the tutors, absolutely great help with all the study and understanding. Hopefully we will get all good grades, and thank you again! Yes, we got not everything perfect, it was so short time to learn everything, but we did our best!
Hes very strict in exam time. His tests are too much hard. Should avoid his class.
Focus on his lectures. Best teacher!
I took this course in the summer it was doable but difficult ! Study to pass
Hes great teacher I would take him again. I took him in the summer 2019 so be ready to strap in. No times for breaks and fun pure studying.
Caring teacher, wants you to do your best and will help along the way. Great at explaining and will explain over until you understand.
Best professor at LACC. I have learned so much from him. His lectures are very thorough and provide everything he can for us to understand the materials. He takes the time to review for exams which helped tremendously. If you want to succeed in the medical field, you should take him. Thank you, Professor!
Professor Khollesi is a very intelligent person. He will make you earn your grade so show up and take good notes. He can be a savage but at the same time nice. Be expected to work as a pop quiz can occur at any moment. Overall hes a great professor and I would take again.
Professor Khollesi is a good good at teaching Physiology. Hes explains in detail. Beware of pop quizzes and do all your labs on time. Oh yeah, he goes out of topic but what he says about whats going on in our way is soo dead on!
He is very knowledge in the subject, gives feedback before exams. He is very funny, scary at the beginning. Overall I loved his lecture. I would definitely recommend his class.
Professor Khollesi is an awesome professor. I took this class in summer 2019 and I never expected to learn so much in just 5 weeks. Yes, the course is heavy work and material but if you work hard you can achieve a good grade. His lectures are very clear and he draws according to the topic which helps visual learners better understand. Inspirational
I took this class over summer. It's a pretty full on course. As long as you stay organized with homework and study, you can pass. It's a full on course so be prepared to study!
Intense course
Dr. Khollesi is passionate when he teaches he gives analogies to help understand concepts. He genuinely wants his students to pass. Always record lectures they are helpful to study for exams did not use a book. I took this class over the summer and it was well put together and organized. Learned a lot definitely recommend Best Professor !
Professor Khollesi is a very amazing professor! He really is passionate about the subject. You need to take very good notes and go over them after class again to make sure you pass the exams. (recording lectures is a BIG help). Follow directions and be prepared, you will do great in his class.
Professor Khollesi is absolutely the best professor I've had. His lectures are amazing, engaging, and hilarious. He cares about his students & will make time for you. I took this course in 5 wks and it was a ton of work but if you stay on track you will be fine. I have great respect for Dr. Khollesi and taking his course was a privilege.
He defintely wants you to learn! Theres a lot of homework, activities, lab and case study assignments, a paper, and studying. He cares about the students and wants them to pass and do well in the class. He is really nice and tries his best to make the class fair and useful. The exams are not bad, very straight forward. All lecture based.
Professor Khollesi is an absolutely great professor,at the same time good person, that I have never seen in my college years. In this short summer semester he gave us a lot of knowledge that other professors gave it in long semester. He likes when students organize, respectful and participating during class.
Wow intense summer course but Ive learned so much in 5 weeks! You can truly tell that this professor is passionate about physiology. I recommend recording his lectures in VIDEO mode. He gives lots of opportunities besides test to earn points! He is truly the best science teacher I have ever had honestly. Take his class you will not regret.
Pr Khollesi is the best!I took his anatomy class, and I decided-he would be my phys. professor as well! He is very knowledgable and professional. His lectures are a bit heavy but due to short summer session, and because he needs to cover lots of material for our benefit. He cares about his students, and he has a great personality! Thank you Professor!
Professor Khollesi is an amazing lecturer! He makes sure everyone understands the material and definitely wants you to learn. You can tell he truly cares for the students and their successes. Took this in the Summer for 5 weeks and there was a lot of material but I have learned so much being in this class. I recommend taking this class :)
Hands down, Professor Khollesi is the greatest of all time! My summer session course was 17 weeks condensed into five, it was the best of times and the worst of times, yet so WORTH it because of professor Khollesi. You will pass and with an A if you listen, stay engaged and match professor Khollesi commitment to your success.
Took hime over the summer. Great teacher.
Professor Khollesi cares. He wants his students to learn and be passionate about what he's teaching. He's a great teacher and willing to help in any way he can if you show him hard work.
Great professor!
Professor Khollesi is an amazing professor. Hes very knowledgeable and intelligent in the subjects hes teaching. I learned a lot from this course. Physiology is a heavy and difficult course but with Dr. khollesi everything is different. Hes very fun and makes the class and physiology subjects very interesting and easy to understand.
Professor Kholessi truly cares about students & does his best to explain everything thoroughly. He is strict on attendance and doesn't make himself available outside of class hours, but he does provide tutors outside lectures & will always clarify in class. Ask questions! I recorded every lecture and listened to it over and over. I learned so much!
Good professor but just work hard
My favorite professor I've ever taken. He really cares that you understand the information. He makes sure that you understand the material. He's a fair grader, he makes sure that you know the criteria. You will love this class.
Great professor, excellent teacher. Learned a lot
He is such a good professor who has a passion for what he does. He made physiology very understanding in a way that we understand. I would definitely take him again. He has a sense of humor that kept me awake the entire class
Great class for visual learners. Gives real life examples.
Passionate, genuinely wants students to grasp material and succeed. Knowledgeable, tough during a compressed winter term. Really pressed us as a class. Very possible to do very well- study daily lecture notes. I did not purchase the text book.
Professor Khollesi was absolutely amazing! His teaching technique is beyond any other professors Ive had. He not only teaches the ins and outs of physiology, but also great life lessons that come with it. He also has a great sense of humor.
Professor Khollesi made Physiology during the winter session managable. You have to put in the work to succeed. Slacking off will not get you by. But he does want you to suceed
Amazing professor overall, lectures are very easy and made for students to understand. Will go over subject until you get it, this class was manageable in a winter course, a regular semester would be very easy. Study and you'll pass. Labs, Exams, Pop quizzes (some), group presentation. I am so glad i took him and he made the class fun and easy!
Professor Khollesi is the best professor Ive ever had throughout my college experience. He caters to visual learners and explains topics in a way that is easy to understand. I took this class in the 5 week winter session, and it was the most stimulating class Ive ever taken that provides me with a strong foundation in physiology. So Funny too!
Professor Khollesi is one of the best professors I have ever taken in a science course. The Winter session is tough, but Professor K. has a way of addressing every learning style through his lectures and is always willing to explain concepts in detail. He does not hand you an A, you must study your material and be focused. I loved his course.
This was an accelerated course (five weeks) and I was worried about being able to pass. However the professors lectures were very engaging and clear. His tests were fair, no tricks. The labs were also fun and tied in well with the material we studied. It was a lot of information, but I learned a lot from him
Text book is optional as he covers most information in lecture and tells you what information is necessary for exams and quizzes. He's a very clear lecturer and is able to explain information in a very understandable manner. Is also very accessible and willing to answer questions. He does require group work for lab exams and class presentations.
Winter session is very fast and a special caliber of student is needed to pass this class. No textbook needed as he gives you all the Powerpoint slides. He's kind and his lectures are of good quality.
Took the course during the winter session 5 weeks very hard, but he made it simple and straight forward. Take him no regrets.!!
Professor Khollesi is a great Professor, he knows his stuff and explain everything perfectly. I took his class in winter and learned a lot. Its better to record his lecture. If you work hard youll do fine.I highly recommend Professor Khollesi!!
Lectures are very clear, organized and straightforward. It was very easy to understand the material because he goes into depth and explain everything in detail. He is an amazing lecturer. There were a lot of materials that we had to cover, but he made it more easy to understand.
Amazing professor!! He has a way of breaking down the material so that it is easy to understand. All of the work he assigned seemed beneficial, no busy work. He is funny and caring and really wants his students to do well. I would take him again in a heart beat and recommend him to anybody that has a chance to take his class!
Not a super hard class but definitely not an easy a. Do the work, review the material, and you won't fall behind.
I took Professor Kholessi for the 5 week winter course and it was lecture heavy. You can not afford to miss a day, otherwise it will feel that you lost out on an entire week's work/study load. He is very clear on what will be on the test, he goes over anything you may not understand, and is punctual for assignments and tests.
Anatomy Professor, Khalil Khollesi at Los Angeles City is not for everyone, his lectures are a kin to rants and his labs are comparable to a continuation school, no true instruction; notice positive reviews are on the same day ; complete chaos, like his syllabus. If you're going into the medical field this is not your guy. Terrible instructor.
This guys is a mess.... to say the least. Doesnt teach anything all semester and at the end decides to make class miserable. You would think during this covid-19 situation professors would be nicer. Getting google to help me learn instead of this guy. Class was better in person than online. Thank you next.
supposed to be in person which started off easier and I was excited for the class. COVID-19 made LACC online. not necessarily a bad teacher because i did better in person than when things shifted online. not necessarily a lot of work but loads of studying in order to pass his tests.
Professor Khollesi is a very intelligent respectful and smart Professor . If you want to learn the material , you have to study and listen to all his recommendations. The lectures and quizzes are clear . People who wanted an easy degree are complaining , but this is anatomy and you have to work hard and Professor is doing his best to help.
If you do your part, you will definitely enjoy this course.
Anatomy is a course that requires much prep, it demands organization and a professor who can deliver the material in a manner that the student is inspired by the patterns. This professor fails at that, he will simply answer "look it up on the youtube" . I do not recommend his class for serious students -
THE BEST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD! Prof. Khollesi made it so interesting and interactive. His lectures are very clear and detailed (especially the prerecorded ones.) 4 exams, 1 paper, 1 group presentation. Lots of extra credit! He truly cares about his students. You have to work hard for an A but it is very possible. I actually learned so much.
3 or 4 test, a paper and a group project. labs are online & professor has no control over that. They were only okay. Group work online is awful. Teacher often seemed stressed and let students know about it. Games in class are pleasant. He is a great lecturer actually. Paper criteria wasn't super clear, he grades kind of harshly Overall he's good.
He spends his time giving sermons rather than teaching. Is very rude and brings you down. Plays recorded lectures that don't make sense and the audio is horrible. He's unorganized and the study guides are useless. No extra credit! There's a group project but he doesn't give an outline for it. Exams are 50 Q's and 40 min which is not enough time!
Seems very strict and often talks down on others if they ask questions. His lectures are helpful I guess, but a little rambling. Often talked about having issues during the pandemic but, when it came to us, he seemed to not care about it. I know its a large class size and all but still. Tests should probably have more time. Quizzes too.
I would not recommend this teacher to anyone and highly regret taking this class! His grading scale makes no sense, no remorse for students or being in a pandemic! He doesn't teach only uploads prerecorded lectures yet still makes you come to class and goes on unrelated rants every time you ask questions. He gives no extra credit.
Professor Khollesi is a real gem! I took his Fall online physio class and the class was structured and clear. He uploads all the lectures, videos, and supplemental material. He also provides extra credit and study guides. It's not an easy class but if you TRY you'll def get a passing grade. Come to class and do the work and you'll be okay :)
WORST PROFESSOR EVER. does NOT teach, nothing from PPTs OR textbook is on exams, doesnt prep students, is rude, scolds everyone, unfair beyond words but rants about how amazing he is. DO NOT TAKE HIM you will regret it. i only passed because i took anatomy previously and i barely got by here. im an A student and this was absolute horse crap.
Do NOT take this professor, he is insane. you will never pass this class because he makes it impossible to do so. He doesn't provide the class with ANYTHING and he tests on things you've never covered. He doesn't teach, he only posts up prerecorded lectures and even then, nothing will be on the 8 exams you'll take and a 5 page paper.
It feels like you are on your own most of the times, so you must take it seriously when studying. He gives sermons way too much than actually teaching but I have to admit his sermons are for your own good. But it gets too repetitive! Dont take this class if you are not willing to put in effort. His tests are really hard. It is not an easy A!!!
You need to self-study a lot, personally the recorded lectures were not helpful. Lab/Lecture Exams was roughly 1 min/question for total of 50 questions. Lots of HW also, he asked to label 10-20 pictures for each lab anatomy chapter and tells you to turn in only 2 in first 10 minutes of zoom class. It is very stressful for me, I studied really hard.
I didn't know how I was going to get through Anatomy, especially as a nontraditional student returning to school many years after my first BA. All you have to do is your part and study the materials given. Professor Khollesi really cares about his students and wants them to do well, and succeed not just in class but in life.
I would not recommend this professor. He is extremely rude and discouraging. He spends a lot of time giving sermons about how we as students take advantage of the pandemic by using it to get out of assignments. He does not lecture, just posts previously recorded videos. He also complains a lot about how he gets too many emails from students.
Khalil Khollesi is the best. I took him in Anatomy and Physiology. Both classes were awesome. He is very intelligent and he teaches very well and clearly. He gave a lot of opportunities to raise your grade after exams and answers everyone's emails. I would say he is the best for A&P. I took another professor in Physio, but Khollesi was the best.
Great professor! Very organized and give a lot of extra credit. Grading scale is point based not percentage based so you just have to get at least 600 points for a low B. Gets upset when students ask the same question over and over but who wouldn't. Only complaint I have is that the final was VERY confusing and had A LOT of grammatical errors. 8/10
Requires you to watch prerecorded lectures before coming to class and rarely goes over topics during actual class time. Tells you to "do better" on test of topics he never spent time teaching and sharing "woe is me" stories to make students ignore that he doesn't teach. Use YouTube to teach yourself. That's the only way you will do well.
just re watch his lectures over and over until u understand IT ALL thats how I got an A. Labs feel extra but easy. exams are hard but not impossible if you study until u get it.
Tests are based on physiological concepts. There are pre-recorded lectures, but I studied more from youtube (Ninjanerds). There is 1 essay assignment and 1 group project. If you want an A in this class, make sure you understand and not memorize concepts. I emphasize understanding, because 70% of the questions on the exams are all hypothehcial ques.
I really enjoyed professor Khalil Khollesi's class He goes beyond the call of duty: A student in need can access him during office hours, and virtually if not found in the office. Resourceful: Knows his material Teaches the material well Understands the students Respects his students and inspirational
Professor Khollesi sets a balanced tone of scaring you into taking this class seriously and then incorporating lots of fun games and activities. If you work hard in his class he will respond with a bit of leniency on things. You can tell he's passionate about science and though it isn't an easy A, an A is achievable with some effort.
THE WORST PROFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD!!! Do NOT TAKE HIM UNLESS YOU ENJOY TEACHING YOURSELF ANATOMY. He's condescending and terrible at his job. Does not care about his students and instead of teaching, pre-records his lectures to watch on your own and tells you to google or look at YouTube to figure it out. I got a B but that's no thanks to him.
I took Physio in 5 weeks, and it was my life for that month! His class is not easy, but he does an excellent job of explaining complex things in layman's terms. I worked really hard and scored 90+ on his exams because I was understanding (not just memorizing) concepts. This will 100% help in your career if you're doing medical. Actually impactful!
This is a self taugh class. If you are not into teaching yourself this class is not for you. I sugest having thick skin, preloading by learning everything yourself before the course starts all of it can be found in his portal, tests are as confusing as his lectures, make friends, only xtra credit is writing a positive on here.
Honestly taking the 5 week course is super intimidating but very doable. He made hard concepts seem easy by really breaking down topics well. I found myself spending more time rewatching his lecture videos to really do well on his exams, but he really targeted what's going to be tested. Lots of ex credit opportunities so use to your advantage!
He is the best science professor I have got so far. He is caring and wanted his student to do well. Also giving extra credits if he sees you work hard. I took him twice in Human Anatomy and Physiology and had a blast experience. Having him as the best professor making it hard for me to be happy with other professors that are not as good as him.
BIO 1010-09 NOT ANAT1 Worst professor I've had at CSULA so far. We've had less than 5 ACTUAL LECTURE MEETINGS since the semester has begun. All he does is leave the lecture and textbook info on Canvas. Grading? Sometimes late and not getting a full 5/5 tanks your grade hard. Tests? He forgets to publish them on time
Professor khollesi is a great teacher. Get ready to take, review , and study class notes. Theres a lot of material you need to know. Tests are challenging. Physiol 001 requires extra study time. It takes a can do , and going above and beyond approach to pass this class. This is no dance class. If you dont study you wont pass.
Took this class fall of 2021 & his syllabus and criteria was laid out very clearly, it even felt the class more easier as every week there was a certain homework assignment due and reading material we had to cover ourselves, everything you studied for was on the test, not to mention there were recordings of the module you were currently going over.
I don't recommend taking his Physiology during a 5 weeks session. It's poorly organized, his lectures and notes are very confusing, not good enough for a self-taught class. His exam questions are beyond confusing, with lots of mistakes and misspelled words. He is not a tough grader though and gives opportunities for extra credit.
I had Professor Khalil for Anatomy001 Spring 2022 class. I learned SO MUCH! He's a great teacher, he'll push you to do your best, even though I got a B in his class, I have learned so much that I can't complain. His lecture test was difficult because 70% of the questions on the exams were all hypothetical questions. Put extra study times is needed.
I Like the Professor the way he teach but the problem is he gave 40 second per question for exam.
Took this class online with no meetings. It was all prerecorded so youre really teaching yourself. Hefty labs due at end of the week, but its not hard(labelling) Everythings in the textbook!!!Unlimited attempts for certain assignments due at the end of the week. I regret not starting my work earlier in the week! Wouldve done better with more time.
The content is rather difficult, but his lectures break down the concepts well. This class requires immense studying and dedication. He also gives many opportunities for extra credit. The content of this course is super fascinating, and I am very glad to have taken this class with Professor Khollesi. Don't get caught lacking and you'll do well.
I am taking this class online and it made my schedule so flexible because he would give us about 5 days to get one assignment done. There are many discussions but easy to do, and the lectures are very interesting. I would definitely recommend taking this class online and with this professor.
This prof does a terrible job at teaching. Everything in his lectures are just read off the slides. The assignments are fairly average but miss one then you drop like 10 points with NO chance of make up. Even if personal issues made you miss an assignment. Avoid this class at all cost.
Taken for winter 2023 (5 week session), I don't recommend learning this course in 5 weeks because it was a lot of content that we covered, however, it is doable. Professor is very clear about class structure and is understanding. 8 exams (4 lecture-4 lab), dropped our lowest one, 4 lab assignments, provides practice exams for the lab exams.
If you ever consider taking ANAT001 for the winter session, Professor Khollesi is the best. He gave us plenty of time to complete work in class and genuinely wanted his students to succeed. He did a great job explaining ways to remember lecture content, and provided insightful videos for practical exams. Overall great teacher and would recommend.
Winter 2023. The class is not hard but it does require a lot of studying and going over terms to label for the practical exams. Khollesi gave us all the material we needed for the practical exams. The lecture aspect of the class is pre recorded lectures and the lecture exams are not hard. Put in the time and you will do good in this class.
I took Professor Khollesi for Anatomy in 5 week winter session. Great professor but you must put in the time to study for the lab practicum tests. Lab worksheets are heavy but not hard. He is a fair grader. He does not nit pick as long as you do the work and show effort. Plenty of extra credit opportunity. You will learn a lot.
Very easy to understand.
Don't be scared of the professor! He is a lot more easy-going than he looks and sounds. I took anatomy during the summer and I had a lot of material to learn every week, but he would still take the time to point out parts on the anatomical models. He has a lot of extra credit assignments on Canvas. Make sure to take the time to study! Good luck!
I couldn't have a better professor. As an international student, I was very scared to take this class, but he taught us Anatomy in a fun way. We had a lot of quizzes in class, he uploaded videos of the models and lots of assignments (many for extra credits too).
I took his class because my brother said hes a good professor. he was right. Study PowerPoint and memorize everything from study guide for the practical exam. Ez A. All the materials are very helpful for exams. Lot of extra credit points. Im so glad that I took this in the summer session. wish I could also take his physiology class.
This is closer to a self taught course, but Prof. Khollesi is a solid teacher. Anatomy 101 is a LOT of work and memorization, please spare yourself and take it with a lighter class load! Very understanding though, and quite funny. Ultimately it is up to you to do the work, if you don't know the concept you can only blame yourself.
Dedicated teacher who is fair and helps his students to succeed. Lecture exams are based off his power points. Offers extra credit which really helps. Attendance is graded, so try not to miss labs (you'll be lost if you do anyway). There is no getting around the heavy memorization and studying required to do well in Anatomy, but he makes it fun.
I loved him. He was super sweet. He was a nice older man. There were literally like almost no assignments besides a participation question. The exams are on paper though and there is like four of them. They were kinda hard but thats because I barely studied. I only studied for like an hour and I passed. If that doesn't convince you idk what will.
Professor Khollesi makes anatomy engaging despite the heavy workload. The lectures, practice exams, and extra credit assignments are super helpful. Definitely use unstuckstudy ai alongside the textbook to ace this class.
Awesome professor who seems intimidating at first but genuinely wants students to learn and succeed. Great lecturer and labs were engaging. This class requires a lot of studying, but if you follow his study guides and take advantage of the extra credit opportunities then an A is very doable.
Avoid his classes at all costs. I have not learned anything in this class.
Professor Khollesi is an excellent professor who sets students up for success. He offers a second attempt on exams, with 4 straightforward lecture exams and a non-cumulative final. A few assignments on Canvas, and you can attend lectures live or view them later (your choice). Many felt they didn't learn much—be proactive and ask questions....
If you take this course you have to dedicate your time to it from the very beginning. Don't procrastinate anything. Attend tutoring from the beginning, pay close attention to his lectures and try to understand rather than memorizing, his tests are scenario based. He gives extra credit, and is willing to help but you need to work really hard.
A very unorganized professor, your lectures consist of typed out lectures followed by powerpoints and traditional recorded lectures that don't seem to even match the slides he provided? He gets angry often for the smallest of things, my anxiety was at an all time high during his labs. This is a self taught class, if u want a professor don't take.
Enjoyed his Anatomy lecture so decided to go w/ him for Physio. Unorganized, would say one thing do another, wants you to learn EVERYTHING in the book even though he doesn't teach it. He gives xtra credit but it's like 2 points. You HAVE to do well on the exams as the points are worth SIGNIFICANTLY more. Canceled OSS exams w/o consent.
Every class comes with work. Do everything he asks of you and you'll be okay. Exam grades matter a lot so make sure to not fall behind. He offers a good amount of extra credit.
Part 3: Go to the free tutoring sessions! Ask questions. He gives 8 extra credit points on exams just for attending tutoring. His exams are not difficult if you've been keeping up. They're all multiple choice and include comprehension-based questions, true/false, matching, and scenario-based problems. Don't just memorize but apply the material.
Part 4: Lab attendance is taken weekly, and you will not be allowed to submit the lab for that week if you are absent. I recommend watching the lecture before going to lab so you're prepared and know what's going on. Even though the lecture is online, ALL exams are taken in person during lab.
Part 5: Overall, he's a very knowledgeable professor who knows his material well. He won't hand you anything—you have to earn your grade, but the support and tools are all there if you use them.
Not gonna lie, this class is easy if you actually put in the effort. He can come off rude but he's funny and cares about the material. Extra credit is through tutoring (worth it). Don't memorize; understand concepts. There is a short group presentation, like 3–4 minutes each, and it's not bad at all.
Prof. Khollesi is a great professor. He's not an easy A, but don't let that discourage you, it's totally possible to get there! Make sure you understand ALL the material, please don't barely go through it, you need to study it all. I used notability to help me upload his slides to create AI quizzes in prep for the exam, however it cost $.
