Condescending and no office hours. Won't answer emails or questions. Never had a professor this rude
Dr. Le is very helpful in class and is ALWAYS open to questions. He isn't intimidating like some bio professors can be. Big emphasis on his lecture notes; we don't use the book at all. Study those well and you'll be solid. Definitely recommend!!
Great guy/teacher! But very hard.
Dr. Le is a great professor. He is very approachable & helpful. Don't be shy. He listens! Study for his exams because your grade depends on it. Your homework is to STUDY! You need to know the material in his lecture notes & understand what we are doing in lab. Don't miss class! He does what he can to help you succeed. I highly recommend!
Dr. Le is a great teacher. Took his class in the spring and learned a lot. His tests are very tough, but if you put in the effort, you will succeed. Attending lectures is a must because he elaborates a lot on his slides. Your grade will definitely be reflective of how much effort you put in his class. Again, very tough, but fair.
Dr. Le was such a great teacher. He was well worth the commute to Mountain House from Stockton. He was very helpful and made lectures fun. Labs we were a little on our own but if we followed directions we could figure it out.
fantastic teacher, you must take good notes to do well on the exams, class cannot be recorded. he goes over material fast when hes short for time, otherwise explains things very well!
Go to class. Take notes on his slides, write down everything!! (This will help get you high test scores) He is very enthusiastic and encourages you to get the best grade you can.
it was harder than my Calculus class... and I HATE calculus but love anatomy
Must address him by Dr. Le. He is very condescending and will put you on the spot in front of the whole class if you make a mistake. No clear instructions on labs and be ready to eat, sleep and live medical microbiology because his exams are time consuming and tough. Advice: DROP HIS CLASS.
I love Dr. Le, he's a great teacher. He answers all your questions and is clear on what you need to know for his exams. 6 exams, 6 quiz's and a little homework. His lectures are very clear and he guides you on what to study for exams. I would totally recommend Dr. Le!!!
Dr. Le is the best science professor at Delta so far. His lectures are so clear and interesting. He is very helpful if you have any question. Tests are a little hard but are doable. As long as you study, you'll pass. I love taking his class and will definitely take him again for anatomy!!!
He is very clear on what will be on his tests, which is great. No surprises! Take good notes, and study them a lot, and you can definitely pass this class. Everything in his lectures will be tested, you can't skip ANYTHING. Dr Le is a really good instructor. He answers any questions, so don't be afraid to ask. You can get an A with HARD work!
Dr. Le is one of the best teachers I've had in college. Show up to every class because he gives good lectures. He tells you important highlights for your exams. He doesn't give out much homework so your grade is based off lab (6) and lecture exams (6). Dr. Le has a funny side and cares about his students. He's willing to help me anytime I ask.
Dr. Le was a great professor for human biology. His tests are based directly from his lectures and he lets you have a cheat sheet. It's really important that you attend class because he gives information that isn't on the powerpoints he emails out. Find the time to study and you'll be fine!
By far Dr. Le is the best teacher I have had at Delta. He is very fair and gives you all info you need for exams. Show up to every class and be prepared to learn. Use the time he gives you to learn the models and ask questions. He will answer all of them and explain things to you. Take him if you need anatomy....
Expect to study hard and pay attention during lectures. Dr. Le does like to lecture with his own notes on board, participation is a must because powerpoint won't be sufficient to handle his exam. He allows a letter-size both sided cheat sheet on his exams. Extra credit is also offered. Labs can get chaotic, be prepared and read ahead.
This class was horrible. He didn't answer any of my questions and refereed me to other students for help instead of helping me himself. You will need to study at least 20 hours a week and may not pass after that. Tests are unclear and he claims tests are based of lecture this is not true. Best advice: take a different professor.
AWESOME teacher! The class is hard, but that goes for any Anatomy class. His lectures can be a little much, but his tests are directly from his lectures so take good notes and you'll do fine. Don't be afraid to ask questions, he wants you to pass but he makes you work for it.
Thank you Dr. Le is all I can say. This was my first college class and I was nervous. Dr. Le was very helpful and his lectures are directly linked to his exams. I studying very hard and it paid off. The class was hard for me but Dr. Le made his lectures clear to me. Study them to pass exams.
Write EVERYTHING down. Labs are easy. Don't waste your time completing lab reports b/c he doesn't collect them (except for 3 lab reports that you download & hand in at the end of the semester). Test are EXTREMELY difficult and are meant to trick you in a way. I got a B, but many failed. A "C" won't cut it for a nursing program! Its your gamble.
Amazing professor. He is very knowledgeable. Show up, study his slides and you should be fine. He hates to see his students fail so if you ask he will answer. He is an amazing anatomy and microbiology professor. If you fail it's completely your own fault because with a cheat sheet and proper studying you should get a B at minimum! Don't buy books.
Dr. Le is an amazing professor! He lets you use a full page (front and back) as a cheat sheet for all tests. Tests are a bit difficult, but with a cheat sheet you are guaranteed to get an A. Write down everything on the slides onto your cheat sheet with a bit of review and this class is an easy A. Take him!
This class was the hardest class I've taken so far. I already tried with Itaya so compared to him I would definitely choose Dr. Le! His lectures are jam packed with info so don't miss! I was in his first class at Stockton campus & only allowed one side for cheat sheet. Not impossible to pass but it'll for sure be challenging. Talk to him for help!
My experience with Dr. Le includes: 1. He did NOT exhibit good organization in teaching. 2. Often, he did NOT explain laboratory work clearly and methodically which left my classmates and I unsure of what to do. 3. He seemed unapproachable.
Dr. Le is an awesome professor. Lectures are so well organized. Tests are hard, but if you put a lot of time into your cheat sheet, you can do well. Highly recommend any of his biology classes!
Horrible professor and very unorganized. He also has a very bad attitude for no good reason.
Taking Dr. Le currently and he is an amazing teacher. I have taken Micro with Hewette and her lectures are horrible compared to Dr. Le. He is very clear on what he wants you to know. Cheat sheet on one side is the best, so make use of it! And labs are great. You'll receive a heads up on what'll be your essay question. Which is so helpful!
Dr. Le really cares about his students. when i ask him a question he never seems bothered to answer it. Lab exams are easy. lecture exams all you have to do is study your notes. Its hard and even though i studied forever I still got C&Bson the exam but labs exams bumped me up. He will push test pack if multiple people say they dont feel prepared.
Dr. Lê is a great teacher. Microbiology is hard, it's a lot of information fast. I think Dr. Lê's style of teaching made it much easier. He takes his time to explain things, and writes down everything you should know. He's lenient sometimes too, if enough people ask he'll extend dates. You also get a cheat sheet for each test.
Dr. Le is an incredible professor with excellent teaching skills. I took Bio1 with him and earned an A but I studied very hard and never missed anything in lecture. If you go over lecture notes very carefully 3-4 times a good week in advance you should be able to earn A's on his exams. If you do not discipline yourself, you will not do well.
I cannot understand anyone who is saying bad things about Dr. Le. He is the best teacher I have had. I highly recommend him for the important classes. If you think Dr. le is hard I would have you reconsider your career goals because you wont find an easier class for those important classes. I'v tried with other teachers and dropped until this class
Currently taking, he is a great teacher.. if you are committed to school and learning, take him. Yes, his exams are hard, but he is good at giving analogies and helping you to understand visually. I really appreciated this because I'm a visual learner. I took Core Bio several yrs ago and failed.. learned my lesson, studied hard this time, got an A
He gives you a cheat sheet.. but it's false security that many students rely on. Note that majority of students who don't do well on the exams are the ones who fill up their entire cheat sheet in type 4 font... I put in time to studying because I'm doing this for my kiddos.. so it's important to me.. my cheat sheet never has more than 8 diff. notes
He let us use a cheat sheet for Exams.
the best prof there is. he genuinely cares about his students and loves what he does. the textbook is not required but lab manual is. he made me love biology just by the way he taught. he lets you use a cheat sheet for everything which is beneficial. absolutely loved him as a professor!!!! take him definitely, you won't regret it.
Probably one of the best teachers I ever had. Really know the subject matter and teaches it in a way I understood it. If your willing to learn and put effort into it he'll help you as much as he can. That being said his test questions are tough and hard.
Firstly, Professor Le is great in many ways; however, the class itself was way tougher than it needed to be for a class that isnt for Bio majors. We were graded solely on tests and quizzes, extra credit wasnt given until the end of the semester. The lack of things going towards our grades stressed me out throughout the semester.
Very knowledgeable, offers some bonus pts, and allows cheat sheet. However, teaches courses at a more advanced level, inconsisten in lectures and what's on the exams, DOESN'T follow the syllabus, test questions are tricky with two possible answers, not enough test time. Students must resort to additional study materials outside of class.
He lectures from his power points. For lab you're basically on your own. Does not offer extra credit. He seems approachable but once you do he isn't very nice. This class has hurt my GPA big time. The only plus I can think of is if you're a visual learner, your in luck because he writes everything down on the board.
His lecture exams are tough. Lab exams were fun to me. We had to memorize the models(heart, muscles, skeleton, tissues, ect.) The cheat sheet was a life saver for me when it came to the lab exam! He bumped our grade percentages depending how good the class did. There were no study guides. No free ride here - study.
Professor Le is an angry professor. When you ask questions, he just sounds like you are waisting his time. He does not really assign any homework, but you HAVE to study or you won't pass the exams. He covers a lot of material. His goal is to make you change to a Bio major because this class is for non-majors, but he doesn't inspire only deters.
Dr Le is a great teacher that cares about his students! You must put in work and hours of studying if you want an A. Its worth having him as a professor. Has a good sense of humor and gives you everything you need to pass. He is open to answering questions and makes a good effort in helping students understand and pass. Gives extra credit + curves
Dr. Le is the best professor I've had a Delta. He gives you everything you need to succeed in his class, you just have to do the work. He genuinely wants you to understand the material and allows a cheat sheet for tests--it's a lifesaver! Highly recommend him for all your Bio needs.
I took Physio over the summer at MH campus, so a commute in the summer. 7 weeks of the hardest class. His lecture setup is good, combo of PP and writing on the board. Sit up front and ask lots of questions, also ANSWER his questions, whether you think its right or not, if he didn't talk about it and its on the test confront him. All in all, good
Dr. Le is the best professor at SJDC. He writes each and everything on the board. Physiology in summer takes a lot of effort to get an A. If you're a hard working student puts in a lot of effort then you can't get anything lower than B. You can't get a better professor for physiology than Dr. Le. Take him, you won't regret it.
I was so scared to take physiology over summer. I was so confused if I should take this professor or not because this is a hard subject without any doubt. I'm so happy that I took Dr. Le as my physiology prof. It's worth having him as a professor. Take him if you have a opportunity.
Dr. Le writes everything on the board. All of his tests are based on his PP. I took him over the summer and we had about 4 lecture exams, 2 lab exams, and an unknown paper. He also provides cheat sheet which is useful for essay questions. Overall, you can't just rely on the cheat sheet, you must know your stuffs.
I took Biol 32 in Summer 2018 and I believe 25/25 students passed. Best Professor ever! He truly care for his students. Know how to ask the right questions. He will prepare you will for your future profession. I am in pharmacy school and everything I have learned is exactly what he has taught in class. Just be ready to learn.
He is ok but not the best.
Took his class for Bio 11 my freshman year, and when he taught Physio over summer I jumped on it. Honestly speaking he is one of the best Biology Professor there is to offer. Everything he lectures on is everything you need to know for the exams. Biol032 is a tough subject in general however he makes it interesting and easy to understand.
Doesnt offer extra credit because he lets students use cheat sheets which I think takes away from learning the actual material. Class is only based on tests, no cushion at all. You have to REALLY STUDY for this class for a passing grade so I dont recommend taking if you have a full load. Only takes attendance in lab which is pointless. Most fail.
Be prepared to study! Flash cards and study groups helped me. It is college so you cant expect to earn a passing grade if you dont know the material. Dont miss class! Tests are based on his PPs. Overall the toughest class yet I learned a lot. I take pride in earning a B because it reflects the hard work I put in. Anyone can pass. Just study!!!
Dr. Le is an amazing professor! He broke down the concepts to make it easier for non-Biology majors to understand. He was always willing to answer any questions I had. If you can, sit up front and never miss class. You are allowed a cheat sheet for every test. Lab exams were difficult, so take your lab time seriously. I learned a lot from him.
I took BIO 31 with Dr Le Fall 2018. I received an A in the class. His class is great. That being said you will need to attend classes, take good note ( I recorded lectures),and study regularly not just before a test. If you can do those things you will be successful. Dr Le wants everyone to succeed! Extra Credit opportunities also.
I took intro to bio, and it was straightforward for the most part. You need to come to class because its all lectures and labs. Some of the labs were pretty fun, but the tests are very hard, be prepared to study for a bit. In the beginning he was harsh, but he kinda mellowed out as the semester went on. Not great, but for intro hes alright.
"Look at the board!" lol
Best physio professor. People who fail do so because they don't study. He writes everything you need on the board, his exams are based 100% on his notes and slides. U also get CHEAT SHEET for the exam. If he ever asks a question on the exam not covered TALK TO HIM. he will give the class the pts back. he's caring and lectures beautifully.
if you skip class you will not pass. lecture is so important because he writes everything on the board. no teacher does that, respect him for that because you basically have your notes done and you're ready to go home and review the material. He takes the time to meet with his students if you ask. a cheat sheet is allowed for all exams.
Tips: study every little detail he writes on the board believe me even the last little small detail he throws in there will be on the exam. Many people in the class who didnt do well seemed to leave those details out. Also study the slides! Sometimes the way he words things on the slides will be the exact same way on the exam.
Dr. Le's physio class is not easy so do not underestimate it. A LOT of studying to do if you are not already familiar with basic biological concepts. Has MC or matching exam questions from any slide off his PPT, so make sure you READ and UNDERSTAND every slide of his PPTs unless he says the slide isn't important. You will pass if time is put in.
Dr. Le is by far my favorite professor at Delta. I took him for both Anatomy and Physio and I would recommend him to everyone. He is passionate and will go over things more than once to help you understand. His tests can be really tricky/hard so please understand the material. Memorization will not help much! In my opinion, best professor ever!
Dr. Le has been one of the most knowledgable professors I have had. His anatomy class was based only on lecture and lab exams and they are pretty difficult. If you show up to class and use your time wisely, you will do well in the class. If you are not a great test taker, I would not recommend his class because it was graded only on tests.
I really don't understand how he has good reviews. He's literally the worst teacher ever. I recommend picking somebody else. He is so clueless when it comes to how he wants to grade his stuff. He has the worst attitude also. Not the most approachable. He makes his class so complicated than it really should be. I don't recommend him.
Great lectures, study them religiously over textbook. Very knowledgeable. Very strong personality, very blunt, not for a sensitive student at all. Will mellow down, I promise. Ask questions no matter what. Attend office hours if possible. STUDY, NO SLACKING! Provides possible essay questions and allowed 1 pg cheat sheet for exams. Exams are HEAVY.
This class consisted of 4 lecture exams, 2 lab exams, and an essay. Be sure to read the text in order to understand the material, as his notes are mainly bullet points. Concepts from the text did appear on the tests. He does allow a cheat sheet. He writes on the board and it can get quite confusing at times. Personally, I wouldn't take him again.
You would think during a Pandemic professors would be more willing to help but not this one. Before having everything online he said that if lab was moved to online he would quit. We took a total of about 4/5 exams online plus an essay. Only the first exam taken April 1st was graded. We were left clueless for the rest of the semester. Horrible.
Probably the worst professor Ive had at delta. Who leaves his students not knowing what their grades are for all of the exams taken online during COVID 19? The only exam that was graded was one we took at the beginning of April. I was left anxious constantly checking for an exam grades on canvas for 2 months and nothing. Dont even bother.
Our first exam was before COVID, the subsequent exams were all online. We NEVER received our grades for ANYTHING except the very first 2 exams. Exams were ALL essay questions. Refused to give our grades and tell us how we're doing. He submitted our final grades too soon, hard to believe he corrected 95 students exams THAT fast.
hell tell you dont bother buying the txt book but constantly referred 2 the textbook during his online lectures & left us 2 look up information ourselves. lab was based off lecture notes & not the lab manual like he assigns you. DIDNT grade anything until after the semester was over leaving us clueless. Grades were NOT accurate in my opinion.
How can we improve without seeing our grade? 1st exam was taken in school before the crisis. 2/6 grades were seen. we did not see other 4 grades unit grade were posted. it took on week to post grades and grades were not right. labs were heavy not what we covered. we suffered as if we are the cause of this crisis. he will ruin your GPA. DONT TAKE H
He was terrible at helping his students as we went through this time. We were thrown into the dark and expected to learn on our own. He made all his online exams very difficult essay questions even though if he took the time he could have made it just like the in person exam. He did not try to help us at all if anything he made it more difficult
He is straight forward with his class. Attendance is required because lectures are heavy! Be ready to write everything he says and writes on the board. The good this is that his test are based of his lectures, so study your notes and you should pass. Text book isnt really required, maybe for lab just to name certain anatomical areas, so buy cheap
You can study and write everything he says down, but you still will get questions that were not went over in lecture. Ask him for help? He wont, he will only refer u to the outline and lectures. He does everything possible to make it hard on you. Yes, physio Is tough but shouldnt be this tough. I took it in HS and got an A,this prof is ridiculous
Some are not good at taking notes or comprehending. Dr. Le does provide all of the information for exams and quizzes. Students need to take some responsibility. Some subjects are easier than others. Biology classes are not on the easy spectrum. You have to be ready to put in some hard work. My group studied everyday. Some got A's & some B's
Physiology is a hard subject overall. I got a B but I believe he fought the class well. There are 2 components to learning: 1. The self 2. The teacher. You can have the greatest teacher and still don't get some things. Majority of the negative comments are from students who do not pay attention, or attend office hours FOR QUESTIONS.
Professor Le is the worst bio professor at Delta. He has a lack of sympathy for his students even with the current pandemic. He only graded the first exams, and once everything switched online, he never returned scores for the exams. Never responded to emails, and left us in the dark. I am a straight A student and I got a B in his class. DON'T TAKE
Professor Le has very high expectations, but his teaching is subpar. His lectures are very disorganized and make the subject even more confusing. He requires the textbook, so make sure to read it. It will explain all of the concepts far better than he does in his notes. Exams are confusing (both A and B, all of the above). Study and you'll pass.
Grading is exam heavy, and its difficult to know what he expects. The curve is based off of the highest score. After scoring poorly on the first exam, I emailed him asking for help and to see what he expects to when he grades (No response). After exam 2, I scored just as poorly and emailed again (no response). How could I improve my grade???
A great guy but there is a couple of things that I dislike from taking his Biology class. He goes into great detail of information which I suggest rewatching the recorded lectures a couple of times to get the concept. Grades a few assignments and grades very heavily an exams. I wish he can drop an exam or grade easily since we are in a pandemic.
STAY AWAY FROM TAKING ONE OF HIS CLASSES. I am an A student and he is one of those professors that grades harsh and does not help you at all. I tried my 100 percent with this class but overall he lacks in caring for his students. Especially during this pandemic, he does not help at all.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROFESSOR. HE GRADES VERY HARSHLY AND THERE'S VERY FEW ASSIGNMENTS TO RAISE YOUR GRADES. HIS LECTURES ARE CONFUSING AND YOU CANNOT USE YOUR BOOK(HE STATED IT WAS PLAGIARISING IF IT WASN'T TAUGHT ON THE POWERPOINT). HE'S RUDE THROUGH EMAILS & HE DOESNT PROVIDE FEEDBACK SO DON'T BOTHER EMAILING.
Worst professor I've ever had. Tests were 4 essay questions that were worth 10 points/ each question (40 points total). And that was all we were graded on. Lab simulations did not count for anything whatsoever (even though those took so much time to complete). He graded very harshly on tests with no explanation or study tools.
If you plan on taking him, PLEASE read the book. It's the only way to pass with a decent grade. His notes barely cover the information on exams so the book is your only hope. I'm a straight A STEM major but ended up with a B in this class. He says he cares about students but doesn't help at all. If Professor McRae is teaching take her instead.
Your hard work will be reflected by your grade if you take Le. Learn every detail of lectures, only THEN will you be able to APPLY what you know to his essay questions. This is a critical thinking class- you are not handed the answers. He is not good at communication, BUT he will answer your questions if they reflect you actually want to learn.
This professor is really offensive and rude. He doesnt prepare you for the exams and confuses you with lecture because there are so disorganized. Even though we do study groups his lectures dont help us. Physio is hard but he makes it more complicated. I wish he was more lenient because it would of help he explained his lessons better.
Had to study at least 6 hours a week but it is doable. Just review his lectures and you should do just fine! Responds to emails in a timely manner.
Went over his lectures and took my time studying to really grasp the concepts! He will prepare you for the medical field! My classmates kept asking him what was going to be on the exam-he seemed annoyed but if I was asked that every lecture I would be annoyed too. He is brilliant! Put in that study time!!
Its on your own risk if you want to take this professor but your GPA will drop a lot because he doesn't explain anything. This is my third time taking him and I can't seem to understand what I'm doing wrong. When I ask him for guidance on how I can improve instead he shut me down by not responding like its not his problem and I'm trying my best.
The subject matter is straight forward, but on all of the tests, which are short written answers, he expects a lot more information than what he provides us. He only grades 4 tests, 2 lab tests, and 1 paper. His lectures are extremely messy and aren't straight-forward. If you have to take his class, you need to rely on the book and accept a C.
Toughest class i had ever taken physio is hard but he make it more complicated to understand. so your aware doesn't give any feedback to test scores and study guide are not helpful at all. they are just a waste of time. just a head up we were 180 students for this fall 2020 now theirs only 61 left. majority drop for same reason.
This is the hardest class I've ever taken and him being my professor didn't help. Grades are entirely based on 4 lecture exams, 2 lab exams, and 1 research paper. So if you don't do well on your exams then you're going to fail this class. The exams are all essays and the questions are very tricky. When I ask a question, he answers me with sarcasm.
Worst professor for physio. Idk why there are good reviews on his classes. His exams had no correlation to half of the material he lectures. And when you ask for help or any type of feedback he shuts you down and doesn't provide any type of help other than saying "go over the lecture". Do yourself a favor and DO NOT TAKE HIM.
I took him because of good reviews but he was totally opposite. I was studying for 34-38 hours a week. And don't understand his lecture at all. He say different in his lecture and aske different question in exam. and never give you any feedback on your exam question in order to improve. I hate him and I will never take his class again.
There is 1 Research Paper 900-1000 words. Lecture and Lab Tests are essay-based and each question has about two questions. He says to pay attention because he will trick you. There is no feedback provided. Lectures are not new, and each lecture is about 1hr to 1 hr 40 min. There are many Labsters. No Extra Credit. Tough Grader. No Grading Curve.
scored 90% on 2 exams, 60% on 3 exams, dont know the rest since the class closed when he was still grading but you really have to understand that its critical thinking. Challenge yourself by coming up with your own ?s. Do the study guides, never did i email him for questions, just took good notes & understand the concepts of each mechanism.
advice: Everyone studies differently, I would spend 5+hours on an hr lecture writing every little thing, understand concepts, & try to explain it, so that way I wouldn't have too much spend time looking back. He just wants you to know what you are talking about on his exams, don't over think it. It is tough online, have to dedicate A LOT of time
This professor lectured very well and explained thoroughly. Yes, the exams are intimidating but reading the chapters and taking good notes helped a lot. It really is up to you to watch the lectures, write detailed notes, and study. Go over the practice notes he passes out and make sure to rewatch lectures before the exam. Doable class.
Currently taking this class and let me tell you the worst mistake ever. Lecture based class, which means essay based test, wants 200 words max for each answer, not a word over or you loose a point per word. Labs/labsters glitch, get stuck, dont load and many more defects. Claims he cares about students but gives the worst feedback. Very rude!!
The absolute WORST Physio professor here. Don't say I didn't warn you, if you take him you're not getting an A period. Doesn't provide feedback on exams, doesn't respond to emails like??? I actually reported him to the dean because it was such a bad learning environment with him.
Worst mistake of taking him the study guide don't help and his videos don't make sense. I also reported him to the dean but they don't do nothing. if I was you take somebody else don't say I didn't alerted you. take it from me that I took him for the fall 2020.
I remember scheduling a zoom call with him to go over something I did not understand, 1 minute into the call I wanted to hang up, he was so rude, my wife was embarrassed to hear the way he was talking me me. He's never there for his students, his exams are to understand. people need to think twice before choosing him as their professor.
Scores are completely based off TESTS ONLY. Only 4-5 tests throughout the entire semester & ZERO homework, so if your test scores are poor, you will fail. The only source of info comes from his prerecorded lectures. I TRANSCRIBED EVERY LECTURE & STUDIED THEM TO THE BONE & IT STILL WASNT ENOUGH!!! Decided to cut my losses & try again next semester
The worse mistake in my life by taking his class 2 times. He is very rude if you ask question he will not give you explanation. Instead tell you listen to my recorded lecture again and I am not giving you answer you have to think as scientist. We did complain to dean but nothing works. If you think as scientist then go ahead and take his class.
Not a fan. The only grades are the tests even though the labs take so much time. Test questions are 4 vague essays that are impossible to tell what exactly he wants. If you miss one thing or don't say it exactly how he wants you to, you lose enough points to knock you down a letter grade. Not helpful when you ask for additional help either.
First of all, if you value your mental health STAY AWAY FROM THIS TEACHER. Terrible communication skills. Tests are 4 essay questions that are all or nothing. You could literally quote him and if youre off by one word, docks enough points to drop you a whole letter grade. Idk how he still works here with how often he gets reported to the dean.
If you're taking his class, you're probably a nursing major. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF and DO NOT take this professor ! The worst mistake of my life, literally the worst grader. This class is ONLY based on 4 lecture exams, 2 lab exams, and 1 research paper. The exams are all essay based and him being a tough grader does not make it any better.
So far I aced the 1st exam, failed the 2nd. It's been 2 weeks and I haven't gotten my 3rd/4th exam grade. I AM MENTALLY EXHAUSTED. Maintaining a passing grade is hard because failing one exam can hurt you. Exams aren't straightforward and you need to understand 7-8 hours/4-5 chapters worth of content in the span of a week. It's hard. Please advise.
The lectures are really informative don't get me wrong. He lectures what you need to know and it relates to his reviews for exams (not saying its easy, but it is doable if you make time to understand), but when it comes down to responses for exams, he's a VERY tough grader. Also, he take weeks to grade, idek what grade I am going to get rn smh
As if physio wasn't hard enough... Dr. Lê's class takes it to another level. This 6-week summer class was a VERY DIFFICULT yet REWARDING experience. If you are up for the challenge, then go for it! If you take his class BE READY to devote HOURS of your time & give it your all; anything less & you will not earn the grade you want. NOT an easy A...
Required 6-7 hours of work everyday, but this was also a summer course (6-week). It would be better to take this during fall or spring semesters. It was very test heavy. The overall grade is based on 4 lecture exams, 2 lab tests, and a short research paper. The course was very difficult but it's a great preparation for nursing or medical school.
Pls don't take during summer unless you are ready to study as long as you are awake. 4 test and 2 lab exams and 1 paper. Took weeks to get grades for test 2, 3, and 4. Took a whole week to see grades for exam 1. Wasn't helpful when students emailed to ask for help/ tips to improve test grades. Didn't have a grading scale for the exams.
Physio is a tough subject but this professor makes it impossible. We have 4 exams, 2 lecture exam, and research paper but takes him forever to grade. Also never responds back in case wanted to get some feedback to improve scores. If ask him any question is rude. Tells you to just go back to the lectures. Just don't take him for any semester. WORST!
I took physio with him during the summer. 6-week course with the same amount of assignments as a regular semester. Hard grader. His exams are very challenging and require you to UNDERSTAND the mechanisms. I dedicated my life to it and got a B. I love physiology so I learned a lot and enjoyed the challenge. Not an easy grade, Not a Quizlet course.
I currently took him for this spring 2022 and worst mistake I had ever done. I'm happy with dropping him with a W. To all the reviews they were honest professor doesn't provide any feedback and it's a harsh grader when grading exams. Plus, bad side always grades late. The majority of students drop him due to this issue. Before taking him anayze.
WORST PROFESSOR ON CAMPUS. This is the only class I've ever failed in my life. When my internet went out due to the line snapping outside of my house, he said it was "unfair to my classmates" that I am given another chance to take the exam. I gave up after that. There was a group chat for the class, and as far as I know, only a handful passed.
OMG HATE THIS PROFESSOR I DON'T KNOW HOW HE STILL TEACHES. I have never failed a class before till I took this professor. Never gave any feedback on his exams and when asked questions made you feel stupid. I will let you know that at first, he starts with a full class but more than halfway drops due to docking many points for stupid reasons.
I have a 4.0 GPA in college, this is one of my last classes, a 4.8 GPA in high school, and I got an A in Anatomy. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. This professor is not on your side. His tests are extremely confusing and not based on lecture material. He's not helpful, has a negative tone, and can be rude. You ask him questions and he won't help you.
Worst professor at Delta. I had all As until I took him. His lectures are very vague and don't go into depth for what is required on the exams. FRQ on exams are vague and he wants very specific answers. He also has a terrible attitude. He did not give us any feedback on the research paper and didn't show us our grade. Very few people passed. 0/10.
Dr. Le is a gift to SJDC. His background and passion for the material is evident daily through his lectures and labs. Attendance was not mandatory, but missing a class makes it difficult to catch up! He is concept heavy- you will not pass this class unless you truly understand the material. I am so thankful I have had him as a professor.
This is a difficult class, but Dr Le is very smart & passionate about physio. I highly recommend him if you are planning to go into the medical field & if you're willing to put in a LOT of work & effort. He explains concepts very well. The tests for this class are challenging but I guarantee that nursing/PA/medical school classes will be harder.
This professor is not as bad as people make him out to be. The most important thing you can do with his class is study and TAKE NOTES! His lectures go into a good amount of detail, but he lets you know the important stuff. The hardest thing are the tests. Make sure you've payed attention to the lecture, and if you're feeling unconfident, ask peers.
Dr. Le has passion on the beauty and importance of human anatomy, and he uses repetitive language that's good for memory. I took the 6-week summer course. I struggle with tests, but he was supportive. He made adjustments from our concerns. Best thing to do: Take notes, use photos, use google and text book for good notations. Do practice test daily.
His tests are extremely confusing and not based on lecture material. He's not helpful, has a negative tone, and can be rude. You ask him questions and he won't help you. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!!!
I have never given so much effort towards a class only to fail. I am an A and B average student. Something is very wrong here. You are allowed notes on exams but they are worthless because his questions aren't asked in a black and white manner. Further critical thinking is expected of you. Save yourself the time and heartache and pick someone else.
Please don't waste your time taking his class. Professor Le is extremely smart about the subjects he teaches BUT expects his students to understand everything he talks about, and if you don't, he won't like you! You can use notes on exams, but his exams are so difficult! I studied hours upon hours and still could not understand his exams or labs!!
If you're serious about your learning & have the time to dedicate to this class I 100% recommend taking Physiology with Dr. Le! He's generous about allowing us to use our notes on the exams. Yes, this is a challenging class but so is Nursing/PA/Med school! Dr. Le will prepare you to utilize critical thinking skills in the future.
Dr Le did a good explaining things in lecture and told us what would be covered on lab practical and helpful in answering questions for independent lab experiments in microbiology. I would look up things in textbook after seeing what he covered in lecture to get more detail on material but don't need to read whole chapter.
This class honestly seems like you're learning on your own, but Prof Le is very helpful. His lecture videos were almost 2 hours long but they're extremely important for the exams, so make sure to take notes! Exams are open-note which helped me A LOT in maintaining an A. Take him if you're serious about getting into nursing school.
Dr. Le is from Yale and teaches for fun. Lectures are good, can be long. 6 tests (4 lecture & 2 lab). 4 quizzes & 1 written assignment. All are open note and curved. Tests are still difficult if you don't understand the material. Class Average is a C. Labs twice a week and self directed, little guidance as labs are to demonstrate your understanding
Don't be swayed by all the negative comments. Dr. Le is easily the most knowledgeable professor on campus and an extremely nice guy. All of the low reviews are from students who wanted nothing more than a physio class where they wouldn't have to put in the work and learn. What kind of nurse/doctor will they become? Challenge yourself and take Le.
Professor Le is a great professor, he just needs a better grading scale since your entire grade is highly based just upon tests only and not work that we do in class. This class is very test heavy while it is open note there is little covered on the tests from what is given through lectures as well as in class.
Professor Le is a passionate, knowledgable, and caring Professor. He is very open to questions and only wants his students to understand the concepts as well as help them succeed. The class is only graded by tests but, it is open notes! The better your notes are, the better you excel in the class. I wish I would've taken the class more seriously!
The environment in this class is "yes anatomy is hard, but let's make it even harder for my students to pass." Listen to the other ratings. They are all 100% true. You would have more luck taking this class at a different school and transferring the credits than passing Khanh Le's class.
Dr. Le's class is based on test scores. This class was very intimidating at first but as the semester goes on, you should get a hang of it. Don't be discouraged of it being test heavy, because his tests are open notes. If you take really good notes, you should be able to pass this class with no problem! Make sure to study also.
Despite passing this class, Dr. Le sets high expectations in his classes so be prepared for rigorous lecture exams and lab practicals. Grading is based on exam scores so do well and you will pass. He provides opportunities for extra support such as office hours. Don't take anything personally as he is sometimes intimidating and very humbling.
This class was very quite tough, lectures were long (take detailed notes to use for these difficult exams), and anatomy models were practically self taught. Dr. Le is tough on his students but he is still caring and willing to help when you ask. Make sure to take advantage of the cheat sheets and open notes, and attend labs to study anatomy models
Professor Le is a great professor, but his class is very challenging in a academic way. The lectures are all online and very detailed but the way he describes some topics are a tad confusing so I used the book and YT there, but otherwise the book is not necessary. His exams are open note, but they challenge your understanding and are very specific.
Professor Le is the most knowledgeable teacher at Delta. I had him for Anatomy, and I came back to learn Physiology. He legitimately loves teaching and is extremely passionate about educating his students. If you are going into the medical field or pre-med, don't miss out on the opportunity to learn from this professor. You will thank him later.
He knows his stuff but when it comes to effective teaching, you are on your own. He provides help when you ask, but if you are depending on an engaging classroom environment, THIS IS NOT THE CLASS FOR YOU! It's hard to stay positive in this class since he doesn't teach much during Lab or guide you in any direction at all.
Hard class , lab exams are written responses and doesn't let you touch lab models during the exam. Lectures are online videos on canvas, lab material are on canvas as well. Doesn't teach anything during in person labs . Started with a full class and by mid semester only a quarter of the class was left.
Professor Le was not really involved in lab. His lectures were very good when it came to the lecture exam, study based on the slides & you should be fine for the exam. Although you can ask him questions in class, his attitude did not feel welcoming at all. This class is pretty much self taught when it comes to labs. Wasn't the best experience.
Dr. Le thinks he's creating an academically rigorous course when he's really just making it frustrating for average students. Attendance is required for lab, but the lab is basically a study hall. His interaction with the class as a whole is very minimal. His lab tests are basically impossible & the "cheat sheets" might as well not exist.
Challenging class with a professor who holds high standards. Use available resources like textbook, study groups, and Unstuck ai to prepare. Grades can be tough, but the material is valuable.
Lectures are okay but exams are very challenging. If you need help, you can ask questions during lab. Just know that if you do ask for help, there is a high chance of him being rude especially if he feels like you are not grasping concepts as fast as he wants you to. Just because he knows the concepts of BIO, doesn't mean he can teach effectively.
Dr. Le is not a helpful teacher. After the first two labs, he doesn't give any instruction regarding the lab models. For the majority of the class period he doesn't do anything and when you ask him a question, he is rude and condescending. I had to teach myself all of the lab material.
He genuinely wishes well for all his students. He's very open to questions and he respects those who work hard. As long as you follow the schedule and you put effort into actually understanding the material, you'll do fine. He grades with a curve and his tests are open notes, but beware of wording.
He's open to questions, and he'll clarify things and make it easy for you to understand - but you have to talk to him. He cares about his students and it's clear that he loves his job. As class progresses, you'll see that he starts to ease up and make jokes. All in all, follow the schedule, make the effort, and you'll earn his respect.
Lectures are super informational and important for exam, so make sure you take VERY detailed notes. Dr. Le is knowledgeable, and loves his job, so sometimes he can come off a little rude when explaining things to you. Labs are self-taught. I wish he would've put more effort into going over them for students. Exams being open note helps a lot tho!
Dr.Le is incredibly knowledgeable and highly concept-oriented. However, his teaching style requires students to put in the effort to review and grasp the concepts independently. If you dedicate time to studying and engaging with the material, you'll find the course much easier and very rewarding. Overall, an excellent professor!
Prof. Le acts more like a teacher's assistant than a professor. He likes to require attendance in the labs but treats them as free study time. He just sits at his desk and gives no instruction. Whenever you ask him a question, he replies in a very hostile manner. Overall, this class was a terrible experience and ended up being a waste of a semester
Be prepared to teach yourself during scheduled lab times. He was not approachable about 80% of the time. He does allow notes on the lecture tests. Most of the lab sections consisted of him sitting at his desk, and coming in and out of the classroom. Your grade only consists of lecture and lab tests. There is no homework.
Realistically both the good and bad things about Professor Le ar
I never had to drop out of a class before. His online lectures are long and slow. You definitely have to teach yourself if you take this class. His quizzes has many questions that he did not go over!
His lectures are online & are lengthy, but are filled with a lot of info. He allows open notes for his exams, but you still need to study to grasp the concepts. He curves the grades, but it's not smart to rely on it as most of the students try to get the highest grade. Overall, as long as you study and take the class seriously, you will pass.
Just don't!!! It's Awful you are not gonna learn anything in this class.
Get ready to learn on your own. I recommend staying after labs to study on models and PLS study at home. Watch youtube vids and have a study gc. I almost dropped but stuck it out, C's get degrees.
open note exams, but do not slack off. if you want to do well you need to take time writing out your notes & spend time understanding them. your grade is solely based on 4 lecture exams (100Q ea.), & 2 lab exams (50Q ea.), each exam is worth 100 pts so 600 total points. highest score makes the curve for each exam. put the time in & you'll do fine
If you have the time to teach yourself then take this course! Open note exams but lecture videos are 5 years old and dragged out. He is not very present during labs and also not approachable. Take another professor if science isn't your strongest subject to get an A or B because your grade is only based off of exams.
This course was only graded based on exams. He really needs to update his lecture recordings. His lecture recordings had too many mistakes and too much repetition. It is ideal that you rely on outside sources! For the lab, he doesn't explain concepts much; most of the time, you are on your own.
WORST PROFESSOR IVE EVER HAD AT DELTA. he treats people like there not humans talking down more then he actually cared to teach matieral everything is exam based no way to help your grade but to do well and it doesn't help that he doesn't help during the time of need especially for Labs it's truly a teach yourself course w disrespect
I really enjoyed class with him and I will be taking him for physiology. I decided I will not take any other professor for physiology!
Lecture, open-note: 90% of exams answers are straight from lecture. I've NEVER memorized my notes I just took very detailed ones Lab: Use external sources too bc mostly self-taught but if you ask where something is he WILL tell you. Can come off mean but you'll get the answer you need. BIG TIP: Know the same structures on all different models
Great Professor. If I could have taken him for all of my bio classes, I would have.
He is an excellent Professor & I truly enjoyed taking his Anatomy class. You must be very dedicated and not afraid to ask questions. He is tough but he cares about you succeeding in his class and wants to help students to not just get good grades, but to learn the material well. His passion for teaching is evident & he will go above & beyond.
