she graded TWO out of the FIVE tests before the semester was over. a lot of people got 'D's b/c they didn't realize how poorly they were doing. she's lazy, unclear, UNHELPFUL as well. i'm lucky i passed, but i think she's EVIL!!

It's not so much ppl drop the class, YOU merely find yourself contemplating whether to drop or not. She's not helpful-never grades her exams, so u dont ever know the grade you are getting. At the end, half the class who thought they were doing OK, failed.

She never returns any papers (Lab reports, prelabs, work sheets) and it takes a month to get the exam back. There is no way you could know your class standing or grade until after the semester.

She is the most unbelievably lazy teacher I've ever had. Not only doesn't she give us back any papers but threatens students with grades. She is obviously emotional and you do not want to be part of it.

Only take her if you have a good backround on chem. Doesn't answer questions clearly. Tests are only based on her leture. She tells you not to read the book becuz she doesn't like the way they explain things, but she explains them terribly.

Plays favorites. Give tests back after you graduate. I thought I had a B in her class till I checked my grade!! 6 Students from her class are retakin the same class with me at UCI! She's married to the college professor so you cant complain about her!

She has got to be one of the worst professors I have ever seen. As others have said she does play favorites and is extremly obivious. I came to her for help and she never ever made an attempt. DO NOT TAKE HER UNLESS YOU KNOW YOUR CHEM EXTREMLY WELL.

Very nice and understanding lady, but her teaching methods are questionable. You won't know your clas standing until the semester is almost over. Labs are easy, tests are kinda hard. She's married to the Pres. of IVC so watch out!

Taking this teacher will be the worst mistake of your college life. She plays favorites and shows it off ALL the time. Her lectures are extremly boring. All her emotions are always debatable and so is her grading. TAKE IF YOU ARE ALREADY GOOD AT CHEM.

TEACHES ONE THING IN CLASS AND TESTS ON ANOTHER. NEVER GIVES EXTRA HELP AND IS VERY MOODY. TAKES HER ANGER/FRUSTURATION OUT ON OTHER STUDENTS. MOST DIFFICULT PROF EVER. MAKES MATERIAL SEEM 10X HARDER THAN IT IS BECAUSE OF HER TEACHING METHOD.

So cute and funny! She's gotten a bad rep for nothing. Teaches concepts very well. Hates the Zumdahl text as much as everyone else. Kind of intimidationg. Don't kiss up-be honest and she'll respect you more. Face-it Chem isn't the easiest subject in the world!

This teacher came late every single day to class. She takes 3 weeks to grade your test, then gives you 5 min to look at it and collects it back. She favors Persians. On Exam 2 only 1 person got an 90%, another 85%(both persians) the rest C and D grades. MARRIED TO THE IVC PRESIDENT

Nice lady, but THE LAZIEST & WORST teacher ever. Late 15 min every day. Not clear or helpful. Shows favoritism. Kinda condescending when certain students ask questions. Assigns tons of homework that she never collects or goes over. Takes 1 mo+ to grade each test. Didn't go over tests, so you don't know what you did wrong. Never gives back any labs.

when students do bad in class, they tend to blame the teacher. i learned a lot from her and got a solid B both semesters, and im just an average student. if you're looking for an easy class, dont take her. but if you're willing to learn and put some effort in, you'll come out with a decent grade and some good knowledge about chemistry.

I got a B in her class and I barely studied so its really not that hard. Go to class-she even tells you what will be on the test. My warning to you is to keep track of your points-write down your test scores when she hands them back and keep track of xtra credit(fr. attending presentations)cause I got a C, was changed it when I proved it was wrong

Very lazy prof.Doesnt lecture on theory but makes you do homework in class! Never gives back tests/exams to look over so you dont know if you are right or wrong! Have to go to her office to look at your test and then you still cant copy the questions that you got wrong.Takes about 3-4 weeks to mark tests with 95% of the questions on scantron! DONT!

The class is totally unchallenging, does not cover the material, is basically unknowledgeable and incompetent to teach this class, plays favoritism, dismisses classes early. It's amazing how she gets to keep her job. I heard she's married to the college president. NO WONDER!!!

She wasnt very professional. She was late almost every day and was often dismissing class early or making "extra long breaks" to do personal things. She interrupted lectures with stories/conversations with students that had absolutely nothing to do with the lecture. it was difficult to stay on track while we were so often interrupted.

I dropped knowing that she is a waste of time and you won't get much out of her. She does like talking about how great she is though. It's comfirmed that she is married to IVC president.

She has well organized lecture notes and review sessions. The class is not easy, but it is possible to get an 'A'. Just do the homework and review the lecture notes weekly. About 1/2 of the exam problems are straight out of the homework/lecture assignments- the same calculation steps, just different numbers to plug-in. I highly recommend!

She isn't the greatest prof, because her tests don't necessarily follow the book or her notes. 1/2 of test is from homework, other 1/2 is conceptual problems (these may not be from homework or from notes, but from the book). However, she generously gives alot of makeup points. She has a easy going demeaner, and is easy to talk to.

Attendance to lectures not required, but useful to know what is covered for the exam. She does not cover everything in each chapter. Test questions are rarely simlar to problems she goes over in class. Favors persians. Goes off topic a lot. Tests are somewhat difficult because theyre soo different from info she goes over in class. NOT RECOMMENDED

I don't know what the other people talking about. True, she doesn't follow the book but her tests are based on her lecture -> you don't have to read the book. How great is that. Her tests are difficult but if you go to class and take good note you'll pass. Plus, she gives extra credit if most of the class fail a test.

She is really nice! I don't think that she favors persians, she likes the people that talk to her. Her tests are hard, they are about 40% hmwk from the book(s) and 60% from the lecture. Read the book before the lecture. Rewrite the notes and see her at her office hours for hmwk help!! Do all hmwk problems and go to the tutoring center for help.

I don't understand why you guys keep saying Professor T is bad. I'm taking her class and last class I got good result. Although my English is bad, I got satisfactory response that I understand on the questions I asked and I do learn a lot. It takes forever to get your test results back and you never know how you did on homework, so you don't know how you're doing in the class. Her teaching is unclear; if you don't already know chemistry prior to taking her class you will have a very difficult time. Tests are hard, and aren't really on what you worked on in the book or in lecture/lab.

I agree with the negative feedback below. You should also know that a lot of questions students ask she responds w/ "that?s a prerequisite for the class". Prof T you're a teacher you are supposed to teach, maybe spend less time on meaningless tangents and more time answering those questions. plus the SAT's are less tricky than her tests

I think she is a wonderful professor! Sure it took a while to get our test scores back, but she was extremely helpful and her lectures were so clear and to the point. Her tests were based mainly on her lectures and even though they were tricky, you could do well if you studied. Also, she is always willing to help students during office hours.

Dude are you lost??? If you were in her class and awake you would know her tests are not all multiple choice, they are a mixture of multiple choice and problems. If you are going to blast someone a least be honest....

My tips - read the chapter before the lecture, even if she doesn't tell you to. This is give you more depth, and help the multiple choice questions seem less tricky. Do your homework, and do it right away. Ask for help, and ask it sooner rather than later. Do past exam papers. She is a fabulous teacher, you just need to work harder in her class.

This professor is the reason why tenured positions should be abolished. For example the average 90 min lecture consists of 80 min of her non-chemistry random rambling with 10 min of valuable test information mixed in. In order to do well you must, attend class in order to listen for the vital information and, do the suggested exercises. Good luck.

I'm in her class now, she is very helpful!! No one mentions that she gives an extra credit presentaion on chem. worth 2-3% added to your final grade. I think she is a very fair teacher that gives you a lot of opportunities to raise your grade. The labs are easy and fun, you'll get almost all the pts. if you do the work. I would recommend her!

She is an awesome teacher and very friendly. She gives alot of extra credit opportunities and the labs are super easy points and fun! HOWEVER, the tests are incredibly hard, mainly multiple choice with one or two free response.. Test questions come from the notes and homework problems! Good luck, I totally recommend her :D

MUST ATTEND LECTURE. If you'll be taking her class, I hope you have a LOT of patience and TIME on your hands. Patience to WAIT FOREVER to receive tests back and TIME for putting a lot of effort outside of class studying and doing the hwk. She's not that terrible, but not the best teacher either if you're weak in the subject.

Yes after reading all the reviews I was scared. She's all right. She's not totally horrible, but it's a must to do the homework, it teaches you what she tries explaining in lecture. Just study the hw and her lecture notes. For lab, oh my, I've never been more stressed out. It's graded per unknown liquids and if you're right; work well. There is EC.

She's a good teacher. Seriously, don't listen to the bad reviews. Just take notes and do the homework she assigns for each exam and you'll do just fine. She warns the class about how hard exam 2 is for students, but even that wasn't too bad. I recommend her to friends taking chemistry.

Undoubtedly one of the best science instructors, and probably the best overall of all teachers at IVC. Sometimes she goes off on tangents, but she is EXCELLENT at explaining concepts, showing you how to attack chemistry problems, and making sure you have the tools needed to succeed on exams. Wish she would teach other courses as well.

The most amazing professor that I have ever had. She makes lectures clear and entertaining, fun and down to the point. At first i was nervous to take this class due to the bad ratings. But after the semester ended, I felt glad that I took her. she is very clear at teaching and you learn a lot. she might be a little bit tricky with test question, but you will be prepared for the next course after taking her class. i really really reccomend her! :))

EXCELLENT PROFESSOR. She simplifies the material in lecture & provides real-world context so TAKE GOOD NOTES! Lab attendance is mandatory to bump your grade. Use the practice exams in the library. Book is needed primarily for homework so you can get away with photocopying the reserve in the library. Highly recommend. Bad reviewers are slackers!

She's decent. Probably a bit more distracted during labs than I'm used to, but not overly so. Make sure to get her notes down and study them. You don't need anything else to pass her class. As long as you can do everything in her notes (and maybe the practice exam), A's or B's should be easy enough. Chem is hard though, so don't expect a cakewalk.

I hated chem before this class (horrible experience w past teachers) attend all lectures, re-write her notes, ask Qs) tests are a little hard but labs are easy and she's always there to help. Great teacher and REALLY knows the subject well. Do the work, u'll be fine. Enjoyed it

Difficult class, but she is very helpful if you seek out more help. I thought i was going to totally fail since I failed the first 2 tests, but if you work hard in lab and do decently on the other tests you should pass like I did. She is nice and makes the information easier to understand.

Prof. Tabibzadeh is a good teacher. She is nice to her students and lecture materials are as simple as they come. However, you must study, study, STUDY to pass her second test. 4 tests, few EC points, no curves or drop test. Tests straight from lectures and practice tests. But need to go to office hours to go over tests. Notes are very clear and organized. Attendance mandatory. Very easy lab grader and even gives you hints if right or wrong unknown. Passes tests out publicly in grade order. Slow grader. STUDY CONCEPTS.

wow what an amazing teacher! absolutely loved her and she lectured very clearly. The second test was apparently hard but i did very well on it and practice the exams she put in the library so you can do well. Definitely take her if u can

This professor's material is hard, but I found her to be a good teacher. Homework wasn't mandatory but do it anyway - it's the best way to practice for the exams. Labs were straightforward, she goes over each one in detail before you start it. Attendance wasn't mandatory when I took it but don't miss classes, they're important!

Her class in one word: frustrating. Her lectures are scant, and her tests are complex. Not generous with partial credit. EXTREMELY late test feedback. Until the Thursday before finals week, our class only had the grade for exam 1 (out of 3 taken). Consistently shows up 5-10 minutes late. Lab is easy, but a small portion of the grade

She explains everything in lecture and tells us that you only need to study what she teaches you. However, the exams are extremely detailed and difficult. She also takes forever to pass back test grades and when she does, she announces the grades in order from A-F to the class, which is somewhat embarrassing the students. Homework is not required.

Amazing lecturer. She's very clear but goes fast. Lab is very easy, just follow instructions. Tests are hard! Very detailed and tough. You must STUDY. No mandatory hw but it's helpful. She's very nice and chatty and likes students who talk.

stick to her lectures. syllabus is not accurate to determine your grade. pretty sure she curved it as there is no other way i would've received an A. Gives an extra credit examination after Test 2. Study titration curves for Test 2. Go to her office hours . No ASA's. Write down anything she writes down.

Tabibzadeh's a good teacher. Tests are challenging but if you do the work you should be good. Pay attention to her lectures and take notes, do the practice problems she assigns.

I think she was a good professor, and you could tell that she really wanted everyone to do well. Her tests were kind of hard, but if you pay attention in class and do the HW problems you should be able to do well. She also gives a decent amount of extra credit. Her only issue is that she's a slow grader; don't expect to get grades back quickly.

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE GOOD REVIEWS, yes she can teach but the tests are 1000 times harder than lecture, if you want to ruin your GPA then go ahead, plus it takes her forever to grade and you will never know your grade for the 4th test and the final.. had straight A's until I took her. Her class ruined my chances of getting to med school...

Lectures are clear & organized. She comes off as intimidating & seems to mock students at times but don't skip lectures. Study harddo all the study questions from the textbook for tests. She's a very slow test grader and never returned any labs to us. Mentally prepare yourself for her passing back tests in order of highest to lowest score.

Nice lady, very sarcastic and funny in a rude way. Her tests are hard, expect a lot of logical input on your part, but everything is covered in the lectures information wise. Stay on her good side, ask "smart" questions, and show up for all of the labs and lectures. It would do you good to do the homework too.

Tabibz likes doing things her way and she likes telling you that, too. But underneath that sarcastic, sometimes intimidating exterior is a professor who really cares about her students. Her notes are your best friend, do the homework for more clarity. Make sure your questions are intelligent because she isn't one to spoon feed answers.

Class is definitely tough. Exams became gradually easier, but prepare a lot for Exam 2 because it will be the hardest exam out of all 4. Best way to study is to rewrite notes and ask her if you have any questions. She does not use the textbook except for a few pages and homework is not mandatory, but it is the second best study tool.

Do not take Chemistry with this professor. She does not return tests or labs. She shows up late for class and gets extremely irritated if you ask a question during lecture. This class will lower your GPA if you take it with her.

lazy prof, she treats you like a first grader. always threaten students. tests are hard and she put something in it to puzzle you. she says tests are from your notes and you study hard but then the tests are from the back your book.

The best professor i've ever met in IVC even though her class is tough. Her lecture is amazing and easy to understand. Just work hard on it, you can still get an A in her class. I really love Chemistry after i took her class in Spring. Good luck everyone!

Professor T is terrible! She is very confusing. This might be because her doctorate is not in chemistry like she would have you believe. Take someone else who knows the material, like Pheasant. She says that all you need to do is study the notes, all her questions come from her notes, but I found exact questions in the book. She reuses exams.

Exams are exactly as her notes. right before the exam my classmates started to read some parts of the notes for the first time and after the exam, they were mad that exam was hard!well you did not read her notes! take good notes read and reread only her notes nothing else. That is all. you will get an A or B easily if you just know her notes.

In college, you're responsible for your work, but the teacher should also give you enough to work with. We use a textbook that she herself says is too confusing and different from how she teaches. She doesn't actually assign you homework (recommendations, but again, different from her test work). She has one way of teaching, with little flexibility

An instructor should present the material you need to know, not force one way of learning on everyone. No book, PP, blackboard/ canvas used. Only her in class lecture. Beware.

Dr. T. gets a bad rep for having "hard" exams, but if you put in the time and effort to rewrite your notes and pay attention in lecture, you will do well! Her lecture notes are KEY to get a good grade. She is very clear and straightforward. She can also come off as a bit intimidating sometimes, but is still very helpful.

Although Tabibzadeh is a nice person her lectures aren't the greatest. Power points aren't used and her tests can be kinda difficult. Her tests depend heavily on her lectures so pay close attention. Exam 2 is the hardest so beware. Her tests are multiple choice and some free response which sounds easy but heads up conceptual questions are tricky

Her lectures are relevant to real world situations she's really intimidating and if you write down everything she says in lecture, make sure you rewrite and study those notes for the test also she reserves sample exams in the library which are helpful.

:/ you gotta really work for the grade you want. all the exams are based off her notes so make sure you have high quality notes. doing the hw is tedious but it will help you A LOT to prepare for exams. you won't know your grade until the very end since she does not give back lab scores and also returns exams weeks later.

Dr. T may seem tough at first, but she is a sweetheart and genuinely cares about her students. The class is not easy, but its fair, and straightforward. Dr. T knows her stuff and will teach you what you need to know, in class. There are no PowerPoint lecture slides, but thats actually a blessing in disguise.

She is a nice lady but you have to get used to her. She can be really laid back some days, but really strict others. She can get side tracked easily. Her tests aren't horribly bad you just need to study and either get a group together or go to a tutor.

Professor T is a very good lecture teacher. she does not simply put up slides and have you read them but she explains IN DETAIL what the material is along with many examples on how to do them. As long as you show up to class, do the labs, and go over examples in class you'll be fine. The only downside is that she does not hand back labs or tests.

do not take this professor, you will not know your grade throughout the whole semester because she grades things at the last minute. On multiple occasions we took a test when the other test had not been graded. this made it very hard to go into the final know what grade i needed to pass. her tests are very difficult.

Dr T has been teaching chemistry for years so her lectures might seem superficial or quick but thats because she expects you to have read the chapters in the book beforehand. If you speak with her one on one she is very approachable, don't expect to be babied or treated like a high schooler.

I found Prof. T particularly forgiving when it came to exams. Even though the class had a lot of tests, she always made it in her best interest to try and time them nicely. Listen up to her lectures and the class is easy. Don't take the class if you do not have prior experience with chemistry. She could use some help with explaining things.

If you are heading into Chem 1B at Saddleback CC - take Dr. T! For clarification, Chemistry is a harder subject for me to grasp. With that being said, Dr. T makes the material much easier to understand with detailed lectures, transparent test expectations, and a genuine interest in her students learning. I love chemistry, I'm a chemistry major. It's my favorite class. However, going to her class was excruciating. Her powerpoints were confusing and she was editing them as we went through the lecture. Very unprofessional. Also, she would often discuss the pandemic, and it did not seem that she was on the side of science. Do not take her.

She posts all her materials online. On a difficulty scale from 1-10, its a 50. Lectures are lighting speed and sporadic to the content. She zooms by her PowerPoint just reading off of it and moves on instantly. She will constantly berate your intelligence. I strictly PROHIBIT taking this professor even if absolutely necessary for your chem career.
