Ive never had such a difficult time in a class and im typically a straight A student. Her lectures are very speractic and unclear. Tests are difficult because she doesnt cover everything in class. If you take her GET A TUTOR! Only reason i passed the class was because she didnt actually go over labs. If you completed it you got a 10/10.
Dr. T is a kind and caring profession. She knows her stuff! Interesting lectures. She makes tough subjects easy to understand. Be sure to take good notes and pay attention and you'll do well. She walks you through the lab in detail, so no tricks. No pop quizzes but lots of practice worksheets to prepare you for the tests.
Dr. T is such a kind person and really cares that her students succeed. Her tests are not that hard and she strongly encourages you to study your notes for the tests. The subject is hard no matter what teacher you take, but Dr. T makes sure to make lectures as relatable to us and our lives as possible. Be ready to work hard!
She is a super caring person that will stop at nothing to help her students not only understand the lecture material, but also that chemistry is not a hard subject as everyone thinks. She's extremely generous and will do her best to help you pass the class (if you work for it, of course) MAJOR TIP: LECTURES ARE STRAIGHTFORWARD SO STUDY HER NOTES!
Is never available to help students. Keeps office door locked during office hours. Has never given back us one lab report (out of 20). Does not know how to use the computers for experiments. Read the reviews from IVC for more accurate picture. Avoid at all costs. Worst teacher I have ever had.
avoid at all costs!! theres only a couple questions from the lecture on the tests, doesn't give back lab reports or give feedback, never there for office hours. i was literally teaching myself the whole time. rude to students during lab that could barely speak english, making the whole class suffer the consequences. did not prepare me enough for 1A
I can honestly say she's the best teacher I've ever had. She actually cares about her students and tries to make a good relationship with students who try their best. Tests are straight-forward (Study her lecture notes!!). She is laid back and wants you to succeed. Just put effort in and she'll help you.
Dr. T. is an amazing professor! All of her notes are handwritten on the board so you're able to follow along with her instead of going over powerpoint notes. She always makes sure we understand the material before moving on and always helps out with labs. She makes 1B bearable! Tests are reflected through her lecture notes and HW problems so study!
I had her the first semester she transferred to Saddleback and at first it was a rocky start, but she really cares about her students and wants them to do well. The other chem teachers don't like her because she won't teach their way, but does not make her a bad teacher. Do the book problems and review her lecture. Review your notes thoroughly.
Dr. T is one of the best teachers Ive had. She genuinely cares about you and wants you to do your best. She is lenient with her grading to a generous level and one of the sweetest people ive met.
Tabibzadeh is very caring and wants the best for her students. She encourages questions and explains subjects thoroughly. There are 7 exams overall and 2 labs every week. The material gets difficult, but she makes it pretty simple if you attend class and put in the work. Homework is online and there is a prelab before every experiment. I recommend!
She's really good at explaining things! This was the first time I was able to learn things in Chemistry. She really wants everyone to succeed and tries her best to make sure everyone understands the material. She's also really funny with some interesting stories to tell. I would take her again for any future chem class!!
Through four years of obtaining my bachelor's degree in the past, I've never had a prof. that genuinely cares as much about students as Dr. Tabibzadeh. She shares how to do well on the 1st day & if you follow her suggestions, you'll succeed. Her lectures make the material comprehensible. Practice the problems in the book & you'll be set for exams
Personally, I did not have the best experience with this professor. She was nice but I had a very hard time retaining information in her class. I took this same class in high school and had an A+ but she made things much more confusing and her tests are extremely hard.
Please read!!!!!!! i had Dr. T for chem3, she was lovely. Im considering her for chem1B for quarantine emergency online. It would be super helpful if someone could post how she is doing currently with the online transition. I know she isnt very technical. Thank you!!!!!
Dr. T is really kind and tries to make the class fun for her students. She's reasonable but not a pushover. The lectures are the best tool to use for studying and it's where 99% of what you need to know comes from. Class was half online bc of corona and she did her best to accomodate us when we had technical issues. She has a good heart.
Dr. T is amazing professor that really care about her students. She is so fare and her class full with positive energy. Students need to study her notes only and do the questions at the end of each chapter to succeed in her class. I recommend this class for students who want to understand chemistry.
Professor Tabibzadeh is dedicated and she tries her best to help students with the lecture and the course barriers. Exams are tough so do every single suggested HW problem from the textbook! Although this class was not required for my major but I preferred to keep it and learn the material through her! Quite lenient on grading labs.
She's a great teacher! If you're having trouble in the class, she is always happy to help. Definitely recommend!
I love Dr. Tabibzadeh as a person, shes very funny and genuinely cares about her students. However, I find that her lectures are unorganized and all over the place. Shes editing the PowerPoints as we go through the lectures. She goes off on long tangents that do not relate to the topic at all. Her teaching style is just not for me.
Professor T is a very nice person. However, I hate her teaching style. She fixes the powerpoints as we're going through them and tells us to print them out after the lecture. How am I supposed to take notes? She also sucks with technology. I understand that things are challenging, but she can barely even send an email. Take a different professor.
What a great Professor! I had her for Chem 3 (in-person) and came back for Chem 1B (online during covid). She's very thorough with her lectures so you have to pay attention or you won't pass. She is a fair grader. She genuinely cares and wants you to love chemistry as much as she does. Highly recommend!
Don't believe her saddleback reviews. She just transferred from Irvine Valley College. Go read those reviews. They are honest. The ones posted on here are from the few students that kissed her butt in class. Trust me when I say just don't take her. And if you don't believe me, go read her reviews from IVC.
She lectures on things that don't pertain to the labs. And then tests you on lab material. But when you miss a question she tells you that you didn't pay attention in the lecture. Does not go over the questions from test and does not tell you how your answer is wrong. Just says because I said so. Please save your GPA, don't take her.
She is the most unorganized teacher I have ever had. It is so frustrating because she will not have things ready for class, so we will lose time. Then she will expect us to stay longer to then finish the assignment or lecture because she wasted the time earlier. She takes FOREVER to grade, so don't be dependent on current grades. Take someone else.
If you plan to take Chem 1B, do not take Chem 1A with her. I 'm currently taking Chem 1B with a different professor, and there are so many things we never learned about in Tabibzadeh's class that I'm now struggling to catch up on. I did well in Tabibzadeh's class, but she did not set up her students for success. Talked more about her son than chem.
The people reviewing professor T are being too harsh, they are complaining yet did quite good in the course. This is my second time taking Dr T and I do not regret it AT ALL. If you put the work in and show you're committed, you will not be disappointed with your score at the end. Dr T is a great professor and accommodates everyone's needs TAKE HER
she discredited the book assigned to her course, so we went off of only her notes (which were not great). she did not make these accessible outside of class and was unorganized. she's more of a "talking at you" kind of prof than one who creates context and understanding with class material. AVOID if you can. study with peers if you have to take her
If you are looking for a teacher that will explain why something works the way it does rather than just telling you that it works, then she isnt the teacher for you. She fixes her lecture notes as she lectures and it is very frustrating when trying to comprehend the material. If you ask a question half the time it isnt answered at all.
She literally told us in class today that if we used the entire class period to take the exam that she would enforce super strict setting on proctorio that would mark us if we even moved (thats a direct quote). She is more worried about how she looks and is not empathetic for people who dont understand understand chemistry like she does.
Chemistry is no fun but she tries hard to make sure you understand. She is really caring and works hard to make chemistry interesting. She always shares back her lecture slides with all of her annotations. Pay attention, study your notes and you'll be fine. Highly recommend.
Chemistry is a hard subject so do yourself a favor and come to Chem 1A with a solid background from Chem 3 (which I did not). With that said Dr. Tabizadeh is such a caring professor and truly wants her students to do well...I probably should of failed but came out with a B because of her help. If I was taking Chem 1B...I would take it with her.
Dr. T really cares & wants you to understand the difficult concepts in both lecture & lab. She'd add notes to the lab instructions and even edited them so the steps were more clear. She would also take time to go over difficult lecture concepts step by step. For exams she gave optional study sheets, lecture examples, & textbook problems. Take her!
Dr. T is amazing! I absolutely LOVED her class and highly recommend it. She is super caring and goes out of her way to help her students learn and succeed. Her lectures are very effective and provide step-by-step strategies for hard problems. Her class forms a great base for your chem knowledge. If you want to learn and be inspired, take her.
As rigorous as general chemistry may be, Dr. T truly makes the class more enjoyable and I always look forward to showing up every class session (Chem3, 1A, and 1B). She makes the material more comprehensive and simplified in order for everyone to understand. She is very optimistic, fun, and genuinely wants to see her students succeed !
This is my second semester taking Professor T. She clearly cares about her students and has even postponed tests to ensure her students were properly prepared to take them. The Textbook is only for optional practice and the bulk of points comes from lab work and tests. The only homework is OWL and if you pace yourself through the year it'll be easy
Practically spoon-feeds the information you need to know and will walk you through concepts in multiple ways for you to understand. Very straightforward with teaching and labs. She also provides many helpful tips she gained from her years of teaching chem. No trick questions to stump you on exams, review notes, engage in class, & you will pass.
Chem in general are super hard classes, but Dr.T makes it possibly to actually enjoy the class. Ive taken her 3 times and she is the most understanding and caring professor ive ever had. She WANTS you to pass. No trick questions or pop quizzes. Everything is straight forward and you always know what to expect on exams.
Dr. T has shown a consistent theme of wanting her students to succeed, and goes out of her way to make that happen by addressing every concern no matter how substantial it may be. She has clear lectures with great supporting material available online, and genuinely wants you to understand the concepts without the worry that there may be a curveball
Great teacher and provides clear information for labs. Exams are easier than some other teachers at saddleback. Professor T clearly goes through each lab before the lab period.
She is so sweet and caring! I took her for both Chem 1A and 1B. She really wants you to succeed and isn't about tricking her students. She goes over labs so you'll know exactly what to do and expect. Study study study. Chem can be difficult without practice and studying. She is always there to help!!!
This was one of the most impactful courses I took during the pandemic. Professor T truly cares about her students & that they leave her class armed w knowledge. She made us feel supported & heard during scary times, and despite the setbacks my chem knowledge exponentially increased. Absolutely take this course with Professor T, you won't regret it!
Dr. T is the best professor I have ever had! She is caring, kind, and genuine. Her exams are straightforward and the material comes mostly from her lecture slides & study guides. She thoroughly explains lab procedures ahead of time and does not rush through lecture material. If you have the opportunity to take her class, do it, you won't regret it!
Dr. T. is amazing! I've never even kind of understood chemistry until now, thanks to her. But this is not an easy class - you HAVE to work a LOT outside of class. Not required, but you'll need practice. Note: I understand pandemic circumstances, but I doubt I'd pass this (or any other science) class taken online. This one needs to be in person.
Prof. T cares about her students succeeding and making sure everyone understands the concepts. This course is lecture heavy as a chemistry class, but the lecture time for the most part goes by pretty quick.
I had Professor T for Fall 2020 & she is an amazing and caring Chem 1B instructor. I HIGHLY recommend taking her class! She teaches the material really well and is extremely encouraging! She is the kind of professor who is there for you from explaining lab reports to providing helpful study guides. She welcomes all kinds of question you may have.
I took CHEM 1A and CHEM 1B with her. I'm also not a Chem fan. -She is one of the best teachers at Saddleback -Four or five exams during the semester, similar to the lecture slides -Fair grading -Caring about students and always reachable
I would highly advise against taking a course with this professor. She actively edits her slides as she lectures, she has major delays in posting exam scores, and she publicly announces who gets the highest scores on her exams. She also doesn't provide great clarification when asked about material. Exams are hard, people average around 70% on them
Amazing, funny, caring teacher. Test questions are from her slides. Pay attention in class and ask questions. Extra credit opportunity through participation. She really cares about her students and tries to make the course easy. Makes lab super easy by basically explaining everything beforehand. She makes chemistry enjoyable.
Teaches well, exams are fair; labs are self explanatory. Announces the highest grades on each exam, passes back exams from highest to lowest score making students feel bad if they poorly. Does not like it when asking this question stating "on the test will x be on there" along with staying "I'm not a tutor" but your job is to teach the material.
Prof. Tabibzadeh is an amazing professor. she cares very deeply about her students and wants everyone to succeed. Some students believe that professor tabibzadeh should provide tutoring for them during class time at the detriment to other students. This student was often a distraction. Tabibzadeh is great, just put the effort in.
Dr. T is great! I love science, but the math portion has always been hard because I'm dyslexic with numbers(hence the C+). She was very accommodating. She genuinely cares about her students doing well! Follow her lecture notes and any hw she assigns. She's great at answering her email to help too. She goes on tangents, but for me, they made sense.
Amazing lectures that reflect the material on the tests, goes over the labs throughly. You will not have an issue with knowing the material unless you aren't paying attention. Go to office hours if you are having a hard time understanding.
Highly recommend taking chemistry with professor T! She is so caring and encouraging, and truly wants the best for her students. As long as you are putting in the work there is no doubt she will make sure you succeed. Take advantage of office hours she is always willing to help! Tests are fair, just study the notes. Will be taking her for chem 1B.
I cannot say enough amazing things about this Professor. I already have my bachelors degree and needed to take chemistry 1A and 1B. Dr. T is the most kind, genuine teacher who genuinely loves chemistry. She is always available outside of class either at office hours or through email. She is the best teacher I have ever had at a university or CC.
She is amazing. All you have to do is put the effort in and she will reward you. Participate and do the practicfe problems. She genuinely wants her students to succeed and works hard to build up their confidence in the class. She is amazing. Do yourself a favor and TAKE HER CLASS!
Chemistry is a hard subject no matter what but Professor T makes the makes it digestable and fun. Her lectures are fun and easy to follow. I really enjoyed her class this semester
I loved everything about Dr. T's class! She truly wants her students' success and cares about each of them. This is a fair class with organized lecture notes. She is really helpful during labs. Study the lecture and do the suggested homework problems. She is a solid choice for general chemistry!
She has a good rating for a reason. She is kind and always willing to help students outside of class. You can tell she really wants her students to succeed in every aspect of their academic career. Study the review sheets and the slideset and the exams are easy. I highly recommend her class to anyone who has to take chemistry
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER CLASS! Great option for gen chem.
I like Professor Tabibzadeh as a person, but her class was tough. She does let you know what will be on the test (most of it was from the lecture slides). No reviews, though. My biggest gripe was that she'd hand back exams in order of highest to lowest grades instead of making it confidential. The way she teaches acid/base chem is confusing as well
Prof. T is the best option for chemistry 1A & 1B. Exams & labs are as fair as it gets, as she does spend much time preparing students. Her optimistic attitude she brings to class shows how much she loves her job! Her endless support keeps her students driven and always striving for their best. I would not be the student I am today without Prof. T!
Chem 1A is a very difficult class, but Prof Tabibzadeh tries to make it as understandable as possible and apply concepts to the real world. While she does go on tangents and often rushes through lectures, she's always happy to answer questions and very clearly passionate about the subject. Interacting more/asking more questions brought my grade up!
I took this teacher for both Chem 1A and Chem 1B. She genuinely cares about her students and wants you to succeed. She knows when her students put in works and can tell when you are making progress. She is super kind to her students and super funny as well and her lectures are super interesting. She has a passion for teaching.
Please avoid this professor at all costs. Shes extremely unreliable and confusing. Sometimes shell post her lecture notes sometimes she wont. Her lecture slides dont make sense and she speeds through them. You will be learning new content on the week of your exam that yes, will be on the exam. You have two exams back to back on finals week.
She is kind and caring. Lecture notes, lab experiments, and suggested homework problems are all posted. She prints lecture notes for any student who wants them. She clearly explains the calculations for each experiment in detail. Chem 1A is not easy but she tries hard to make it understandable. If you pay attention and listen you will do well.
Shes a decent lady but her lectures are confusing and she often has difficulty answering your questions. Her exams are hard as the class doesnt do too well on them. Also she takes forever to grade so you wont really know your grade. However, there are a lot of exams to help your grade. Just show her that ur improving and trying and youll be fine.
shes pretty strict with her policies and syllabus. tests are pretty hard. stay away from this professor
I took Dr. T for 1A & 1B and I had every tool needed to succeed. She is caring and wants the very best for her students! Lab material is straight forward. Study the provided lecture notes and you will have no problem on the exams. She is extremely fair when it comes to exam material/grading. She is very approachable and has a passion for teaching!
her lectures are hard to follow and understand. she grades exams very slowly and shes a tough grader. you most likely wont know your grade throughout the course. participate in her class.
Overall, Prof T's class is extremely doable, and she makes the material super digestible. Her exams are super fair and are straight from the lecture problems and study guides. She's really nice and entertaining during class hours, but she is extremely strict and non lenient 1on1. She also takes forever to grade stuff. Solid choice but kinda strict.
Professor T is an AMAZING chem professor. She is so passionate about chemistry and teaching. All lecture notes are posted on canvas and you will always be well prepared for the exams. She grades very fairly for both labs and exams. Her positive attitude and love for teaching made coming to class very enjoyable! She is super helpful at office hours!
Dr. T's chemistry course is not difficult as long as you put in the work and show up. Lecture notes are NOT confusing and you will not see anything foreign on exams as long as you study the lecture. She has an optimistic attitude and really loves her job! She makes chemistry fun and students truly enjoy coming to her class. I would take her again!
THE best instructor for chemistry 1A. The class is meant 2be difficult. As long as you put in effort you will be successful. She cares about her students & teaching & tells you exactly what 2study 4exams. Take her 106 bc you get questions exactly like what's on the exam and more extra credit opportunities. I loved her & taking her IB next sem!
Dr. Tabibzadeh is a very caring professor who always wants her students to succeed. She goes the extra mile for her students and communicates with her students very well. She is very organized when teaching, making the material very digestible. Her exams are extremely fair, and she provides many resources in order to succeed! I had her for 1A & 1B.
Kiana is knowledgeable, but the course was disorganized and often difficult to follow. Assignments didn't seem to align with the lectures, and grading felt inconsistent. There was a lack of engagement, and many questions went unanswered. I expected more support and clarity throughout the course.
Ms. Kiana is hard to follow and disorganized. The lectures are often unclear, and assignments lack detailed instructions. It's difficult to get timely feedback, and grading feels inconsistent. While she seems knowledgeable, the class structure makes it hard to succeed. Wouldn't recommend unless you're prepared to self-study.
She is amazing, & a great option for gen chem.
Dr. T's lectures are organized and very thorough. She provides lecture slides and she clearly explains everything in detail. Take good notes and study them. Nothing tricky, just practice with the suggested homework problems and you will be fine. She doesn't collect the homework but it definitely helps if you do the suggested problems. Take 106
While Prof. K knows the material, the lectures are often boring and lack clear explanations. There's little interaction, and the grading feels subjective with minimal feedback. If you need help or clarification, it can be difficult to get support. Her office hours are inconvenient. Would not recommend.
The material wasnt taught well in my opinion. She is a nice person but she is pretty strict on her policies. She isnt really approachable and didnt offer much help outside of class. Be ready to teach yourself.
Chem 1A is tough, and labs aren't easy As. The professor's teaching style is helpful, but watch for grading errors—no drops, retakes, or rounding. Tests offer some formulas and partial credit. Slacking early hurt my grade, but I improved later. Much of her test questions can be found in her notes
Take this professor if you intend to take chem 1b with her as well. Professor T doesnt teach the material well or thoroughly as I found Chem 1B very challenging with a different professor. There were gaps in my knowledge. Additionally, she sometimes makes mistakes when grading exams and has lost papers. He lecture slides arent detailed or clear.
Professor Tabibzadeh made Chem 1A and 1B enjoyable and easy to understand. Her lectures were engaging, and she explained lab experiments thoroughly. She was always available for help and ensured every student understood the material. Beyond teaching, she was kind and supportive, especially when I faced personal challenges.she is just the best.
Professor T is an amazing teacher. She is clear in her lectures and will go into detail if you ask. She is accessible outside of her class and office hours and deeply cared about the success of her students. Without her, I would have failed both 1A and 1B. I had her both semesters and couldn't have asked for a better teacher.
professor Tabi is truly outstanding She breaks down difficult concepts in a clear and engaging way, ensuring every student grasps the material. Her kindness and genuine care for her students create a welcoming atmosphere Always approachable and willing to help, she makes learning enjoyable and motivates us to succeed. Her exams similar to lectures.
Dr. Tabibzadeh ensures that her students are understanding the material she is teaching. She is very patient with her students and is always open to receiving questions. What I loved the most about her class was the fact that she made learning about general chemistry very fun and engaging. If I were to retake Chem 1A, I'd choose her again!
Dr. T's passion for chemistry and teaching creates an extremely engaging classroom, making learning fun! Her approachable and outgoing personality fosters easy communication. She provides all the resources needed to succeed in the class. She cares for her students and listens to their feedback, demonstrating her devotion to their success.
Dr. T is a fantastic professor; she grades fairly and is happy to help during office hours if you need it. Her lectures are engaging and the lecture slides give you everything you need to succeed. Labs are challenging, but not unreasonable. DO ALSO TAKE 106 IF YOU ARE TAKING CHEM 1A; not taking it is my one regret regarding chemistry this semester.
she genuinally wants you to do good in her class and her tests are super easy - she doesn't include things she didn't go over and she makes it clear what's gonna be on the tests.
Professor Tabibzadeh is a great professor. Her lectures are clear. She prints out & posts the notes on Canvas. Reiterates important concepts even if you haven't taken Chem 3. Office hours right after class. Textbook useful but lectures most important. TAKE Chem 106!!! Very understanding when you face adversity. Respect her and she'll respect you.
Wonderful professor who cares about you and your success.
Amazing Teacher. She is caring and teaches you what you need to know. If you pay attention in lecture and study her practice problems, this class will be a breeze. Don't slack off or miss labs, make use of office hours, and don't stress. She wants you to do well and I would take her over and over again.
Just take thorough notes during the semester. If you register for Chem 1A, I recommend taking Chem 106 concurrently. She administered five exams and a final, and all the questions were directly from the lecture notes. She is fair and willing to answer all your questions during office hours. I am currently taking her for Chem 2B .
Dr.T is on my shortlist of favorites at saddleback because of her passion for the subject and overall great attitude. She made chem fun, and, often unintentionally, really funny because she'd say some wild stuff during her side tangents. Don't take the printed lecture slides, it's too much info, just write down the important bits and leave the rest
I bombed one exam and it was 100% my fault. Do the recommended textbook problems and you'll get an A.
Took Mckeachie for 1A, thought it was hard and gave Dr. T a try. Best decision ever. If you struggle in chem shes a good professor, she explains hard topics in an easy way to grasp. Tests are also fair and labs are graded with a lot of mercy. Best tips I can give is do the supplemental homework problems, and don't bother with the OWL, its not worth
Real tough grader, I wouldnt take her again.
Prof T. explains the material clearly, but I found the pacing of the course very fast, which made it hard to keep up with assignments and lectures. Some of the exams felt more focused on memorization than understanding the concepts. Wouldnt take her again.
I had Dr. Tabibzadeh for Chem 1A and I have her again for Chem 1B. She is an amazing professor who cares about her students and wants you to do well while understanding the material. Chemistry is NOT an easy class; if you don't study, you will not do well, no matter who you take it with. I highly recommend taking 1A and 1B with her.
She is so amazing and most importantly a fair professor!!
Dr. T is an amazing chemistry teacher(my favorite). She is very clear with what material is vital for the exams, she is very clear with lab assignments and typically generous with grading labs if effort is shown. And she keeps the class entertaining and not always on full chemistry go go go. It devastates me that she doesn't do organic chem.
Best chemistry professor I have had so far. As someone who struggles to stay focused during lecture, I found that her class was really beneficial for me because she would always repeat the same sentence three times so that everyone would get the concepts engraved in their mind. Study the lecture and study guide and you will do great on the tests.
Best chem professor imo. If I took the class again I would choose her every time. Do not miss labs it can have a huge impact on your grade. If you miss one make sure you do owl. She gives you everything you need to succeed, but you have to do the work.
