Took the class online. Geography is tough to begin with. If you like writing and enjoy details ( a lot of details ) then take this online. 3 Tests all multiple choice, not easy. Prof. Yi is very smart and helps you if you are willing to do all of the work

excellent teacher, very clear on what he wants you to do. Lot of essay writing and 4 test for the semester. make sure you read the book and his notes & you will be fine. Nice guy P.S.I had him online, do not know how his regular classes are.

I took one class at school and one 5 week course online. Did terrible work and failed the tests in the online class and still gave me a C+. For the school class, never read the book, only took notes and passed with an A. The tests are easy if you have good notes. Funny and clear...

he tells a TON of jokes, non of which are funny, but he loves when u laugh at them. doesnt want to see any of his students fail, so he is a fair grader. nice guy-should take him.

He definitely makes history very interesting. You will never get bored in his class. However, from this semester(i think), all the exams are short answers, few essays-you have to know about 40 identification and 4~7 essay problems for each test. There could be an option to chose multiple exams-HARD!

Great professor, makes history interesting and really tries to relate it to the students the best way he can. The exams are pretty easy, If you like to write, take the essay. The multiple choice is definately the more difficult of the 2. Either way, he usually gives extra credit points.

I took his on-line class and he is an excellent teacher if the student is interested and doing their work. It's tough, but I got an A and learned alot.

Excellent professor. I had him for two online classes and I got an A in both. He does make you write a lot but he is pretty fair with the grading. Make sure you are involved in the online debates (extra credit for exam). His exams are kind of tough but with the extra credit you will do pretty good.

Professor Yi is a great teacher hes very funny and talks about designer suits, sex and his life makes history fun definitly go for the short answer easier than multiple choice test. Highly reccomended!

Took history 102 and geography 101 online. Gave 4 page paper due every monday; easy grader. Few tests but if you don't study, you won't pass them. I failed all the tests and managed a B+ in both.

he's such a cool prof, he jokes around a lot, talkin bout everythin! his class consists of takin notes n watchin a short clip of a movie. there is no hw(besides writin a reaction paper bout the movie)the tests are easy, just noe ur topic. He's lenient towards grading the essay tests than the multiple choice test nd its easier, so pick that one!

Look. I attended one of the top liberal arts schools in the country and I can say with confidence: it doesn't get much better than Kil Yi. He's smart and well-read and outstandingly organized. When I asked a question he couldn't answer, he handed me a book out of his personal library the very next class. Learn to love the work -- it's worth it.

Surprisingly, I actually got an 'A' in his class. If you actually pay attention and take good notes, he's not so bad. To me, he actually makes history interesting and I really enjoyed every minute if his class. I had a lot of fun and I really learned a lot. He's also extremely funny.

Yes, it is not an easy class. But if you are involved in his lecture, it's a possible A and you actually LEARN something! Some say his lecture does not cover the test, it's not true. He lets his students understand how to take the exam. He made me remind what's the reason of learning. I got A, and he will count it if u really try.

One of my favorite teachers in BCC! Amazing, Funny, smart and makes you think outside the box. Helps you to understand both perspectives in history. Test were essay and fill-ins, pretty simple if you take good notes and study. Make sure you take notes!!

I took this class online. This professor is worth his weight in gold. He's truly the epitomy of what it means to be a teacher. He is here for his students and makes every effort to help his students understand what he teaches. I would take EVERY class this man taught-twice if I could get credit for it! You do have to work, but he makes it worth it.

I took his geography online even thou I was told it'd be very hard. The class was pretty tough but I managed to get an A. 1 discussion (2 pages) and 1 essay (3 pages) to write every week. 4 exams that are pretty hard so make sure you read the textbook carefully. There is also a debate and personal essay. You can get some extra points. Nice teacher.

Awesome professor! He's hilarious and really makes you understand the material..Theres no homework, no papers, just 3 tests (which he provides extra credit for). He's awesome and loves the word "sexy" lol Take him!

Great professor, took his online course and actually learned.Discussions and essay is due every week, kind of annoying but he gives A grades even if your essay isnt that great.Very funny and gives 20 point curves on exams (they're hard!)..impossible to fail the class, easy A!

(Online course) He is so great, makes history fun, interesting, and understandable! I hesitate to use the term "easy A". It's certainly not easy: 1 page discussion, 3 page essay each week. VERY important to do the reading (about 3 hours or more per week). That being said, as long as you DO THE WORK you will get an A.

He's very funny and entertaining and you most likely wont fall asleep in his class, but his test are hard not because I didnt study, but because the notes he would give out had nothing to do with the test and when he finally gives out the study guide you basicly have only a few days or less to study. basically to pass, get the book an read.

Easiest "A" I ever got! He's funny and makes history as interesting as it can be. Basically he lectures and makes jokes and the class just listens and comments and takes a few notes. We don't use the text book either.

W.CIV since reform with Professor Yi was extremely educational, fun and quick; in that order. This class is an easy A and I couldn't imagine anyone disliking him as a professor or a person. He teaches without a book and really knows his. Witty, funny, charming at times, and makes history FUN. Take him if you want all these qualities.

Very good speaker. Lectures are always enlightening and entertaining. Focuses on broad historical trends rather than dates, names, etc. Tests are very easy and he gives plenty of opportunity for extra credit. Textbook isn't really used, although readings are recommended. You'll be tested on what he talks about in class. Highly recommended.

He is a great professor. He made a class I was dreading insteresting. His online class is a decent amount of work, but it wasn't difficult. It's pretty much an A if you just do the work.I really enjoyed the class.

Great teacher! no book only his lecture notes-which are available online and class notes are needed. You can use notes for test taking which 2 were online and 2 in the classroom. Attendance very helpful because class notes different from his lecture notes.

This was my favorite class that i have ever taken at Bergen!!!! Professor Yi really cares about his students. He writes detailed responses to all your assignments. I highly recommend being a leader for the debate paper you get extra points and you are able to "skip" a discussion and essay question.. He responds very quickly to emails. TAKE HIM! :)

Professor Yi is an awesome man that really makes learning history fun. He will make you laugh, learn and question all in a days work. I changed my major to history after taking his course. I will never forget the impact he had on my studies. Coming from a college senior, please take his course and try to learn the most you can. You wont regret it!

This professor is the best so far! If you have the chance to take him, I suggest you do! Very easy on the coursework. 7 essays (3 pg each), 4 tests (drops 1 lowest test grade), 7 discussions and 1 debate paper. He gives plenty of extra points to get your grade up. You have 2 attempts for every tests. I highly recommend him!! Do the work, its an A!

This class is interesting if you're interested in learning about what's going on in the world. If you're not, it will be miserable. Deadlines are strict and there are a lot of discussions and essays. However, all you need to know is in the lectures. This goes for the tests too. Did not need the textbook.

He is the best history professor I have ever taken. He makes the class fun its not just sitting in a desk and listening to him just talk on and on about history. He will make it enjoyable. I loved Dr Kil J Yi. He made my mornings very interesting. All the notes are on the moodle. Just listen to the lectures and study the notes before the test. You will do fine. He gives study guides before the exam so that is very helpful. I would take him again if I could. Perhaps the best professor I had at Bergen Community College.

Dr. Yi is one of the best professors in Bergen. He is a very funny guy who will keep you laughing for most of the class. For class he always brings unique things and is just really hilarious. Dr. Yi is the right guy for this class and will keep you entertained.

He is one of the most inspiring people I've met in my life. Very polite, respectful, and tactful. Makes you want to learn, gives 3 easy (if you study) tests and a few movie reviews. He is also extremely generous with his time and will let you talk to him in case something personal's happened. Writes great recommendation letters.

This was my first online class. There is 1 weekly discussion per week, with additional feedback due the same week on others' discussion posts. There is an essay due every Friday. There are 4 exams with 1 additional to drop the lowest grade. READ his lectures, skim the book for ideas for the essays. Very simple. Not a tough grader. Just keep up.

Great professor! I took his online geology class last semester and got an A easily. He is so nice and very organized with his assignments. As long as you do all of your work and do decently on the tests, there's no reason that you shouldn't get an A as well. I liked him so much that I took him this semester for history as well. Take him!

Took the learning community course with Dr Yi and Dr Ahn, and I loved it! Dr. Yi is a class act in and outside the classroom, he has a genuine passion in his field of study and his lectures always keep you interested. He also has a great sense of humor, as long as you pay attention and give him the respect he asks for you'll be fine. Inspirational!

Dr. Yi loves to express his knowledge for history. He's a very understanding person and if you need any help, talk to him after class. He's shows us videos to help us understand the lecture. The test are somewhat difficult, but all the information you need is on moddle. Dr. Yi also cracks a few jokes so prepare to be entertained.

I took His 102 for Western Civ online and he is an easy going professor. Also responds to emails, keeps you updated on how your grade is if you ask, he also gave joker cards which is basically a pass on 2 assignments. Professor Yi lets his students be creative in their writing and is not a tough grader.

Probably the easiest online history class you could take at BCC. Gives about 9 discussion questions and 9 essays per semester. Each essay is supposed to be 3 pages but he pretty much only cares if your similarity isn't anything crazy on turnitin. 3 exams, no papers during exam weeks.

Took him for an online class and he is very clear that you do a discussion on Tusday of every week, respond to two classmates by thursday and a 3 page double spaced essay each friday (except when you have a test that week and its 50 T/F) he is so easy!! tells you exacytly what he wants. Easy grader and everything is in the book or lecture!!!

He really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. Extremely encouraging towards students. Tests are easy as long as you took good notes and studied a little. He gives good reviews. He's very enthusiastic and loud so he'll keep you awake in the morning with his theatrical performance of his lectures. Overall a good teacher.

Professor Yi is a good professor. He listens to his students and understands life can happen. Joker cards to skip a paper and discussion are given out mid semester. A few papers, tests and discussions and that is the class. He drops the worst test grade and you can skip one paper and discussion. His responses to the papers are lengthy and confusing

I took him the online class because of covid, i would have really liked to attend his class, his notes were so easy to read and understand and actually enjoyable. There are discussions, a paper every week and the exams are pretty easy its openbook. I enjoyed his feedback and would definitely recommend to take his class.

Just be active and make sure you read the posts he does and it is an A. He actually cares about his job and doing it well.

This professor is a blessing to Bergen. He really cares and takes time to confirm your understanding. When stressed, he will make every effort to make you comfortable. I would definitely chose him again.

He really cares about his job and his students. Allows late work, gives lots of extra credit opportunities, and great feedback. There's a decent bit of writing but it's easy and tests are directly from his powerpoints. Just do your work to the best of your ability and you will do well in his class.

Professor Yi has an amazing personality. All you have to do is participate in his class and show him you understand. His essay is 900 words long but it's not bad if you just read the lecture notes, you'll be done in no time. I had an amazing time in this class. Just take it if you are focused and willing to do some work.

*ATTENTION* Do not miss class, it is important that you attend class and pay attention. Sometimes things from his lecture end up on the test. Gives writing assignments that must be 900 words. He uses Turnitin so don't plagiarize. Explains the topics extremely well and responds to emails quickly.

Amazing professor if you really care about history. Learned a lot from him last semester, but do drink A LOT of energy drinks or something to keep you awake, his voice is very soothing and calm so it is really easy to drifted off into sleep (if he isn't making his classic funny jokes)

Prof. Yi is a very caring person, and genuinely wants the best of his students. He is heavily involved in the community and encouraged us to sign up for scholarships. His class is very easy, although very participation heavy. He does not give homework but provides extra reading material (not mandatory). Exams are two sections, T/F and an essay

What an amazing and kind professor. I admire his ambition and hard work. His memory is strong which is very impressive. He does not have to read off the board or his laptop he remembers everything by heart and that makes him amazing.
