Kim Anderson is a very hard teacher.. but you learn a lot and are very prepared for future accounting classes :-)
she is one of the greatest profs i've ever had. she is a demanding prof but explains things extremely well. if you aren't lazy you should take her. the only people that do bad in her class are the lazy ones. she is very funny too.

Very moody + large workload = unpleasant to take
I think that she is a great professor, i had a lot of fun in her class, and i also think that her class will help me in my following accounting classes. She also have a great sense of humor.
RUN!!!!
She is one of the most amazingly depressing teachers I have ever come across. From day one we were reminded that "Half of you will fail my class". She doesn't get that if half of her students fail it's not their fault it's bad teaching. Period!
she just does practice problems. she doesn't acctually teach anything
There are no words in the English language that can describe the utter lack of knowledge this woman has for accounting. She tells you to do the work and come to class, and even doing that doesn't help you get a good grade.
I went to class, did the work and got an A. She is funny and her tests are exactly like the homework problems. She is a great prof
Dr. Anderson is an excellent professor! In my opinion, the sign of a truly excellent professor is one that students either love 'em or hate 'em. The motivated students who want to learn love Dr. Anderson. The lazy, unmotivated students hate her.

I have NEVER failed a test in my life until I took this woman. She's proud of the fact that half of her students drop her class. I studied my butt off only to have her negative, cynical comments completely turn me off to the bus. world. DON'T TAKE HER!!!!
Dr. Anderson does a great job of explaining difficult material. She is also very encouraging in trying to get students to think about majoring in accounting. I changed my major to accounting because of her!
She is a very hard teacher, but after taking her, you will know your stuff. Also, if your lazy, you will probably not make it in this class.
Doesn't spend enough time teaching. I went to every class, did all my work, and had to go to tutoring to understand what was going on. Take some advice and find a different teacher, it'll save lots of time in the long run.
Quit your job if you're gonna talk about how much you hate it.
Dr. Anderson is very dedicated and truly cares about students learning. The class was a lot of work, but I learned a lot of valuable info that will be helpful in the rest of my bus. courses. I higly recommend her to anyone who is here to learn.

Dr. Anderson is a good professor. She is not as bad as most people think. She does a good job explaining tough material. If you attend class, study, and do the homework, you'll be fine.
she is the best prof i have ever had. she is extremely nice and explains stuff very clearly. she tells you what to expect on tests so all you have to do is put the time in and study! anyone that talks poorly about her is lazy and will never make it
DO NOT take this woman. She likes to fail people, it doesn't faze her one bit. She says her freshman fail rate is 60%. Get away from her!
Dr. Anderson is a lot better than people say she is. She does a good job teaching hard material. If you go to class all the time you should do pretty well.
She had to be the worst prof I've ever had. She was so hard to pay attention to, and I asked for extra help, and all she did was shrug at me..like I was doing poorly casue I wasn't doing my work, well guess what I was!
too talkative about unrelated topics, unclear lectures, and doesnt help you in any apspects of classwork, notes, advice, etc.
JUST DONT TAKE HER!!!!!
Dr. Anderson is excellent! I had her for both acct201 and acct304. Many lazy students did drop out of her 201 class, but, in my opinion, they just weren't even trying. In the 304 class, only 2 people out of 30 withdrew. She taught me a lot.
SHe is the biggest **** i have ever encountered. I asked to go to her office during her hours for help on my homework and she said "i already taught it in class, go to a tutor". HATE HATE HATE!!!!!!
I just love Dr. Anderson!!! I changed my major to accounting because of her. I would take her for every accounting class if I could. She has a very no-nonsense approach and doesn't allow the lazy students to run her over. She's the best!
Challanging professor that will teach you a lot. will try to intimidate people with threats of failing them. if you hang in there and do what she tells you to do, you should have no trouble getting a B and learning a lot about accounting.
Worthless teacher. Honestly made me want to kill myself twice a week. Don't take her!!!
do not take this teacher
She knows her stuff, sit in the front, ask questions and go to all the classes.
She is a great teacher. The material is pretty hard, but if you go to class and do your work you should do fine.
She's tough and makes you know the material, but its worth it. I can honestly say that she improved my knowledge of accounting immensely and if she ever ended up teaching another course that I could take, I'd definitely be there.
I didnt miss a single class and I still had no clue what she was talking about the entire time. She is the worst professor I have ever had and I will NEVER take any of her classes again.
Accounting is a hard class period. If you do your work and study alot you will do ok. She is really not that bad. Just needs wear clothes that look better on her.
I took ACCT201 with two other acctg profs (failed once, withdrew once). Anderson was absolutely fantastic compared to the other profs. She spent class time carefully explaining the material so that I finally understood it. She's the best!
accounting is hard, no matter who you have. she is pretty good at explaining things all you have to do is pay attention and try
Explains Information very well. Gives a lot of points for class attendence and participation. Tests are extremly hard, but if you study, you should do well. You can even drop one of your lowest test scores by taking an optional final. I would definatly recomend her for any accounting classes.
she's kinda crazy. good teacher, explains well, but don't miss class. she has no pity for any reason that you might miss her class (such as emergency room visits or your car being broken into at the robertshaw parking lot!)

Horrible class. Miserable teacher. She has control issues. She should have been in the Army. DON'T TAKE HER CLASS!!!!!!!!!
Very good for accounting majors, wouldn't recommend if your not serious about accounting. Very in-deph and covers a lot of material, tests are challenging but not impossible. Tends to get off topic but still good.
She is a great teacher. Everyone had me scared****less before the class saying she was the devil and the worst teacher. I am really happy i didn't switch my class because she is a fun teacher. She puts things into terms I understand. It's not the easiest class but you will definately learn a lot.
she thinks it is good only 1/4 the class is failing. she expects half to fail. she spends more time rambling then teaching. worst teacher ever. she just tries to tell u how great acct. is and doesn't teach it.

Do not take her for an online class. You have only two exams (midterm and final) that count for 3/4 of your grade and are extremely hard. Not conveniently available to help, directs you to the tutoring. Does not give helpful feedback on assignments.
I thought professor Anderson was a very good teacher. She helps you if you need it and if you come to class and pay attention you'll be fine
Do a favore to urself by keeping away from this lady unless u r planning to fail Accounting on purpose.

I changed my major to accounting because of her. She's one of the only profs at IUP that acutally made me learn something. If you get an "A" from her, which I did, you will definitely feel very good about it. She's AWESOME!!
She is a VERY hard prof. She tells you in the begining of class that over half will fail the class. Spends WAY to much time rambling instead of helping students and answering questions. Pro-packet is a must...that's the ONLY helpful thing about the class. No matter how much you study, you won't get an A
Hard but fair. If you want to learn for real (ala acct majors), take her. I studied VERY hard for this class but got a low B. She is very nice and personable but the tests are difficult. Good prof though.
Dr. Anderson is the best professor at IUP. I would highly recomend her to anyone that is here to learn and not just get a grade.
Her online class was really not that difficult. You need to read the textbook and it helps to do the problems she points out, but all in all the course was not difficult. She responds to questions very quickly, and gives you plenty of time to do the tests which aren't very dfiifcult. I would take an online course from her again.
Was good with her "groupies"
NEVER AGAIN.... Not helpful at all, test are impossible.
You have to go to class and pay attention if you do that she will be helpful
She rambles too much. It's really hard to follow along in her lectures. Violate one of her many petpeeves and you'll lose points. For example, having to use the bathroom
Dr. Anderson's class has been one of my most helpful classes in college. Her exams are not impossible: they are simply challenging, because nothing in life is ever easy. I have taken away things from her class that I will never forget (DEAD CRLS). Her class has helped me prepare to become a professional, and I highly recommend her.
She is the best professor to take if you are serious about learning the material. She clearly outlines what she expects you to know for the tests. She explains concepts well and discusses they are applied in accounting careers. One of IUP's best!
Best prof at iup hands down. She is hard and wants things done perfect with alot of work but she makes you learn. I wish she taught all accounting courses
My favorite Accounting prof!!! Loved the way she teaches and organizes material. Tough course but can truly appreciate the challenge. Put very much effort into the course, but learned the most from her. Cared for students and graded fair. Go to class. One of the best at IUP!
The best professor at IUP. The class is difficult and she does not hand out easy A's. If you want a good grade, you have to earn it. I have never learned so much in a class from one professor. If you are looking to slack-off and pass the class, goodluck. If you are truly serious about ACCTG you would make a huge mistake by passing on her clas
Dr. Anderson is the best and most challenging professor I've had in the accounting department. If your intentions are to really learn accounting then I highly recommend her. However, if you don't have a good work ethic and some good manners, just stay away . Personally, she is very sweet and always willing to go the extra mile to help students.
Dr. Anderson is a great accounting professor and she cares about her students. She expects you to do your share of the work, but is extremely helpful if you are struggling. Her exams are extremely fair, and she explains what you are expected to know. I would gladly take classes with her again.
Dr. Anderson is for sure one of IUP'S best and every acct major should take her. Dr. A truly makes you learn acct and that should be the whole point for acct majors if they want to be successful. If you dedicate yourself to knowing the homework and the material in the course packet there is no reason why you shouldnâ??t get a B or above.
TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! Dr. Anderson is the professor that makes you think about Accounting differently. If you can impress her, and she likes you it will only benefit your future. Her class is tough, but as long as you do your homework, and study you will do fine. AND DON'T USE YOUR CELLPHONE OR START FALLING ASLEEP BECAUSE SHE HATES THAT.
Dr. Anderson is an excellent professor!! Unlike many of the business profs I've had, she actually teaches and does not just click through Power Point. She also does a lot to help students get jobs. I just wish she taught more of the upper-level accounting courses.
No professor I know will do more for her students behind the scenes. Her class is not easy but she is the best professor to take.
Dr. Anderson is by far one of the best professors at IUP. You have to earn your grade, but if you put in the time you will gain a wealth of knowledge in the end. Also, she is willing to help students outside the classroom. Overall, a great professor.
Dr. Anderson is one of the best professors that I have ever had. She is very knowledgeable and willing to help anyone. Her class is not easy, but if you truly want to learn something, she is the best professor to take. She is extremely helpful outside of the classroom as well and has a lot of connections within the industry.
If you are an Accounting major, taking this professor is a must. The class is not the easiest, but if you are a good student you will do fine. I received an A because I worked to earn it. She provides vital information about current accounting topics and helps you save money on your textbook. I would take this professor for every accounting class.
Dr. Anderson is the most helpful accounting professor at IUP. She really cares for the accounting profession and teaches in a way that is clear and exciting. Her class is quite challenging but 100% straight forward and worth the effort. Simply attend class and pay attention and you will truly learn a great deal.
Dr. Anderson really cares about her students. She doesn't make it easy, but get on her good side from the start and you'll have a lot better of a time in her class. I highly suggest getting to know Dr. Anderson if you are an Accounting major. She knows a lot of people and is very helpful in finding a job.
Great professor, mentor, and faculty advisor for the Student Accounting Association. As a professor, she presents the basic concepts in the material covered and challenges you to go beyond mediocrity through relevant assignments and necessary terms to understand that will help you stand out from the crowd. In her class, earning an A is an honor.
Dr. Anderson is the best professor I have had so far at IUP. She truly cares about the success of her students. Her class can be pretty challenging, but as long as you do the homework, attend class, and put adequate time in studying you will do fine. I recommend her for all students serious in perusing a career in accounting.
If you are an accounting major, taking Dr. Anderson is a must. Her class is difficult, but if you study and work hard you will get the grade you deserve. Get to know her and she will help you get a job. Do NOT fall asleep in her class or use your cell phone.
Really good if you want to actually learn accounting. It''s a catch 22. You can learn and get a C or B or learn nothing and get an A with another professor. Excellent place to start if you are an accounting major. Builds a solid background. Not so much if you mainly care about your GPA.
Dr. Anderson was an excellent professor. Although you have to work hard if you want that A, I really don't think there is a better professor for accounting. She has a lot of connections in the real world and will help you in any way she can. She is personable and makes a somewhat boring subject into a class that you might actually enjoy going to.
Teaching style is clear and no-nonsense, and she cuts the book down into a manageable course packet with key terms. Also, she makes a point to prep you for the work world by giving practical networking tips. You will work your butt off, but it will be worth it because you'll know your stuff. I got an A because I worked to earn it.
Dr. Anderson really does go out of her way to help students and offer advice. She helps many Accounting students get internships and jobs. As far as her class goes, she makes you work for your grade. Dr. Anderson's intermediate class taught me the most accounting knowledge out of any class. You should take this class for your own benefit.
Dr. Anderson is my absolute favorite professor. She is tough but you will leave her class with a wealth of knowledge. She is very knowledgable of accounting & only wants the best for her students. She genuinely wants you to succeed and is very helpful when it comes to looking for internships or job opportunities.
Classes with her are tough, but if you get a good grade you earned it! She will do everything she can, if you take her, to help you get employed upon graduation/internships. Always willing to help if you need it. Loves when her students are doing well. Should be mandatory to take her if interests are in public accounting! Will learn SO MUCH!
Dr. Anderson is absolutely the best professor in the accounting department at IUP. The work she puts in goes beyond the classroom; she is constantly trying to provide opportunities for her students. As an accounting major, by not taking Dr. Anderson you would be doing yourself a disservice. Take her class, get to know her, and put the work in.
Dr. Anderson is by far the best teacher I have had throughout my collegiate career. She was my advisor in school, and after graduation, continues to advise me throughout my professional career. She may be tough, but I've learned more in her class than other teachers combined. You are missing out if you don't get to know her and take her classes.
Dr. Anderson really cares about her students and will do anything for them. That being said, her class is easy but only because she forces you to understand the material. If you want to be a CPA, take her.
I have taken Dr. Anderson for ACCT 304, ACCT 305, and she was my advisor. Dr. Anderson is THE BEST accounting professor at IUP. They should allow her to teach more upper level courses. She is not an easy professor, but you actually learn. She also cares about her students, and will help students find jobs. Highly reccomend!!
She is extremely difficult; however, if you apply yourself in her class, you will learn the material. She is very helpful outside of class with whatever you need. She comes off as mean at first, but she's actually very nice. Strict, but nice. The homework is assigned before the lecture about that topic so you have to teach yourself a lot.
Learned so much! I plan to take her for Intermediate Accounting II.
Professor Andersons class is tough. You definitely have to be willing to put in the hours to do well on the tests. One bad test score is not going to kill your grade. She expects you to put in 15-20 hours of studying, one week in advance for a test, which I think is a tad overboard but shes still a solid choice.
Its a very tough if you decide to take her for 304. I worked my tail off and got a C. Not a bad choice but remember you must get a C or better in this class or youll have to take it again. Take Tickell if you want an easy A , take Anderson if you want to roll the dice with your grades and money.
Her grading is very fair & reasonable. Our class's grade distribution after the last exam was 80% of the class with an A, B, or C. She makes sure you know your stuff so that you are prepared for your other upper-level acctg. courses. Those who take an "easy-A" Intermediate prof are headed for failure down the road. You either pay now or pay later.
I wish there were more professors like her, especially in the acct department. The class is tough, but as long as you try you'll do fine. She gives you everything you need for the exams. A lot of people complained about it being extremely hard and I don't know why. She actually teaches you the material, which seems to be a rare occurrence today.
Attendance is mandatory - she collects phones to collect attendance each class. You teach yourself everything with very old lecture videos. Teaches VERY little in the classroom. Some people do well with her, but many find this "teaching" style hard.
If you really want to learn accounting take Dr. Anderson. Her class was difficult but if you study and practice you should do well. Was always very transparent about what would be on her exams.
Taking Dr. Andersons class was one of the challenges for me to become better mentally and as a student. She takes the time to teach you everything in detail and will be available to set time to help you with office hours. Her structure forces you to learn and get better with accounting. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have stayed in accounting.
She somehow got my first review removed. Imagine being that petty. Anyways, she barely lectures about material, gives no homework, and the only way I passed was by watching videos of ANOTHER professor and a different college. She only respects accounting majors and is full of herself. I didn't pay thousands of dollars to teach myself. Never again.
Dr. Anderson really cares about her students and always makes sure to answer any questions to clarify a topic. She responds to emails almost immediately (which is always good). If you are having any trouble in the course she will do her best to help you understand whatever it is you are struggling with.
Dr. Anderson is caring, communicative, and if you take her class, you will definitely learn. She really cares about students as individuals, not just how they're doing in her class. She is always easy to reach by email and even though the class is tough she is very clear about what you need to study and how you will be graded.
I feel that it is important that every accounting major at IUP take Dr. Anderson. Her class can be very humbling for many students. Dr. Anderson is able to take an accounting topic and break it down to its most fundamental level. What you receive on your exam, is more often a true reflection of what you learned. Take her if you have the chance.
Dr. Anderson is easily the best accounting professor I have had so far at IUP. She clearly cares about her students and their success and wants to actually teach the material so that it can be understood. She gave multiple bonus opportunities throughout the semester. She sent outlines of every exam a few weeks before which was very helpful. 10/10
If you have the chance to take Dr. Anderson I recommend it. She gives clear breakdowns of exactly what is going to be on the exams. She lectures during class and expects you to do homework outside of class. It is a hard class but you will learn a lot. She is very passionate about accounting and will help you find internships or a job. Take her!
She's top-tier. It was hard, but I learned way more about Accounting than I ever thought I would. Better than most professors at Eberly. The exams are no joke though, so be very, very, VERY prepared.
