Dr. Caldwell is a very good teacher. She will answer any question you have although her answer is "I really don't know that". She's energetic. Tests are not that hard if you read the notes.

knows her stuff and always willing to answer questions even though she may not know all the answers..tests are easy if you go to class and study the notes..i didnt go to class often and studied the night before every test and came out with an easy B so if you actually apply urself u will do great

She was very helpful outside of class when I needed help understanding the materal. Her test were hard, but fair. I just wish she had daily grades, 4 test being your only grades is rough, but I would take her again!

So easy, all you have to do is go to class but make sure you do go to class because attendance is a big part of your grade.

Great teacher! She makes the class interesting even though the material isnt always. She will definitely help you with anything you need. The tests arent too hard if you go to class and study the notes.

Dr. Caldwell is a great professor. She gave us fill-in-the-blank notes that we printed out online and filled in during class. However, her tests are pretty hard. You really have to study the notes extra hard and have a great working definition of the entire chapter and terms to do well. But, she is excellent and a great resource for information.

Very fun to learn from. She teaches great and very easy to learn the material if you just get off your a%% and study. HOWEVER, her tests are impossible to ace. Her notes don't even touch most parts of the test.

Great proffesor. You print out your notes and fill them in during class. Normally everyday we will have a clicker quiz which composed of 4 multiple choice questions about the reading and lessons. Tests are pretty difficult but you can manage if you work hard enough.

Dr. Caldwell is a great teacher. The material is not so easy but she is very helpful and goes out of her way to relate things to her students. Classes are recorded on line so even if you miss one you can still get on your computer and watch. Clicker quizzes every day, but u can talk to neighbors

LOVED Professor Caldwell. She is very funny and plays music each morning before lecture starts. Her notes are available online as .pdfs and each lecture is posted as an .mp3 or a streaming Tegrity feed with sound. Amazing class, but HUGE! And attendance is not mandatory, but there is a daily quiz, so I recommend going!

Great professor! She makes the information really easy to understand and you only have to study her pdf. notes for the tests-not the book! Go to class though and take the quizzes. Dont leave after the quiz-she gets mad. Best of the 114 professors.

I love Dr. Caldwell. She's my favorite professor by far. She's hilarious and a great teacher. And she's super intelligent, so it's easy to pay attention. There is a lot of material, but if you just study the notes, you'll be good.

If you make the effort, you will do well. She is a great teacher if you allow her to be. I've never heard a bad thing about her and I can see why. I would take her class again if I had the choice!!

very good teacher, made learning enjoyable, actually explains things, she assigns required reading every class, just read it for the daily quizes, other than that you dont use your book for her exams.. its all from your notes. clicker quiz every day but you get to talk to your peers while taking it, shes quirky but reall nice!

Dr. Caldwell has to be one of the most unique instructors I have come across since coming to the University. She is helpful both inside and outside of class. She definitely has a mastery of her own field and is obviously well respected in the scientific community (rightly so). She is truly a valuable asset to our University.

She is a good teacher, but the test cover way to much material for one test. Incredibly hard to make an A on, but all the questions come from the notes. Make sure u go to class and take the quizes.. if you read your book they will be easier. onl take this class is u want to study 24/7

She is a very good teacher who is very clear when explaining things to us. You have to go to class to do daily clicker quizzes; however, she does drop you 6 lowest quizzes. Also, she records her lectures and puts notes online so if you're sick it is easy to make up the class you missed. I really recommend her!

She's a good teacher, from what i heard, the best 114 teacher you can take. she's pretty interesting and fun to listen to. She offers some bonus when attendance is low, so try to go to class as much as possible.

This class is extremely easy. I literally memorized all of the powerpoints, and made an A on every test. They were word for word. TAKE HER CLASS

EASIEST BIO CLASS you will ever take. Her notes come straight from her powerpoints, so don't even get the book. Great teacher and very nice.

GREAT CLASS!! She kept biology interesting and made it easy for a class of 250 students to be involved in the class. Test come straight from the notes, so I suggest studying the notes, using the crossword puzzles she posts online, and reviewing your mastering biology homework. TAKE THIS CLASS!!

I loved Dr. Caldwell's class. She was a very fun, energetic teacher. She posted all of the notes/powerpoints online and also posted recordings of her class online. These were extremely helpful. Her tests were not hard to study for. It was a very interesting class and was not hard to make a good grade in.

Dr. Caldwell was entertaining and really knows her stuff. She worked hard to simplify Biology concepts in this introductory course, but she and her husband are top researchers on the UA campus.

I LOVE her class. She makes class interesting and the only Homework we have is online, not much. Alll of the stuff on her exams comes straight from the notes. She also provides many resources on the class website to help. I would definitely recommend her as a teacher.

Dr. Caldwell was my favorite teacher first semester. Her class is the easiest science I've ever taken... Tests come straight from the notes, no comprehensive final, and a very small amount of homework. Not to mention 5 points added to your overall grade at the end if you didn't miss more than 8 classes. I thought she made the material interesting!

Her tests are hard but she is straight forward with what you need to know. She will give you three extra credit bonus points if you attend class.

Dr. (Kim) Caldwell came to teach honors biology's sections on mitosis, meiosis, and genetics. She's fantastic at making the material clear (chromosomal finger puppets!) What many biology students have a hard time grasping -- myself included -- she explained effortlessly and clearly. She has an evident passion for the subject. Take her.

She is very clear and teaches only what will be on the test. Puts all lectures and notes online and homework is a joke that counts for 20% of your grade. Tests are really easy except for the final which was impossible; she is very cocky but after all the schooling shes been through, she can be. No need to buy the book I never even opened it.

Dr. Caldwell is a great teacher. She explains the material extremely well and is very clear about the subject matter! Make sure to attend all her lectures because if you do, the tests will be much easier. Her tests are very detailed and count for a good portion of your grade. STUDY HARD FOR THEM! Overall, this was a great class.

She helped a lot with understanding basic biology. I think she makes her class difficult to weed out the people that aren't meant to take bio courses. You really have to keep up with the notes and readings. Going over the notes from that day will help you stay on top of things. Tests are difficult but not impossible, just try not to fall behind!

Her quirkiness kept the class interesting. She made most of the topics easy to understand but there is so much material to cover in a short time. She records herself and puts it online which helps a lot. Her tests are not easy at all. If you want an A or even a high B, you definitely have to work for it but it is possible.

She is a bit moody and sometimes she treats the class as if they are kindergarteners. Overall, her class is pretty easy though. She will feed you a TON of information. Re-listen to the classes on Tegrity and study the power points and you'll make at least a B. Go to class and answer the clicker questions and you'll get extra credit points.

She is passionate about the class, but the lectures can get dry. She does has a tendency to get angry if she thinks people aren't paying attention and rants a little. Attendance is important and gets you extra credit. The tests are hard, but if you listen in class and do the homework, it's not bad. If you ask her for help, she's super nice.

Dr. Caldwell is very dynamic. You'll either love her or find her kind of annoying. Thanks to her, I have a new found appreciation for the subject. Tests aren't hard as long as you study and don't try to cram the night before. Clicker quizzes (almost) daily but they're easy points. If you're a serious student, you can make at least a B easily.

The material is easy if you study. Come to class and you get major points. If you miss less than 8 classes you get 5 points added to your final GRADE! like takes you from an 85 to 90 just for showing up. She can get a bit angry when people talk during class but shes a great teacher! Definitely recommend her!!!!!

This class is EASY, if you pay attention and do the work. Honestly, she barely even goes into the depth that most teachers do for an intro bio class. If it's not on the powerpoint you don't need to know it. But you need to know it! Tests are pretty straightforward and easy. Homework is easy. GO TO CLASS. Lots of clicker quizzes. Extra credit!

Dr. Caldwell does her best to keep the class interested and entertained, she definitely incorporates a lot of humor that you have to be paying attention to understand. She's way too smart for her intro-level biology class, and that shows in her lectures all the time, but paying attention and doing clicker quizzes will get you an easy A or A+.

She makes it clear day one that it's a large class, if you go to her office hours and get to know her, she will help you. If you just go to class or don't do anything, she has little sympathy. She is really helpful during office hours, but this course is tough. Read the textbook and make sure you get to know her and go to class, and you'll do fine.

Caldwell is SO smart & hilarious. I genuinely love going to class and although the information is complex,she teaches it so that it is understandable. This is not a memorization class, you cannot memorize her slides and pass. Tests are 100% applying knowledge. Class is genuinely fun, low-stress and so entertaining. I love her and love this class.

Caldwell is a great professor! Attendance is mandatory because she gives clicker quizzes everyday, which is actually good because at the end of the semester she gives bonus points to final grade. The test aren't hard if you study the slides and the book, rework the homework, and do the "crossword puzzles" they're like study guides. TAKE HER!

Dr. Caldwell is a good professor. She is very approachable to discuss problems you're having either after class or during office hours. If you have a background in Bio (AP Bio) this class will be a breeze. There are daily clicker quizzes which are for extra credit. There are also only 4 exams, and the 4th is the final. Would recommend her.

Kim's super passionate about what she teaches and it shows. Even though I had her MWF 9am I hardly missed class because she was so funny and quirky, and you really need to attend lectures to get all the info for tests. All tests are 50 MC, not too bad if you study and rewatch lectures, and you get 5 extra points to your grade if you miss 8 or less.

My favorite teacher this semester. You do have to study, but she makes tries to help you succeed with plentiful resources. she puts all of her lectures online, as well as notes, puzzles and videos to help study. most of the test questions come from quiz questions in class and homework. She is upfront about everything and fair to all students.

The lectures were always exciting because of Dr. Caldwell's humor. The test were tougher than what was usually taught but doing the homework (which isn't required) helps to improve your score. Clicker Quizzes were given and counted as a total test grade which was helpful; beware, the quizzes are basically attendance and some days are worth more!

Professor Caldwell is extremely knowledgeable and good at what she does. She is a good lecturer and pretty funny too. It's a lot of work and you can't slack off and get a good grade. Just make sure to do the work and all of the readings.

Dr. Caldwell puts the focus on learning instead of just cramming information into your head for tests. The class always felt relaxed and you could tell she cares about her students and her subject matter. You obviously still have to study since its a 400 level class but she doesn't try to trick you or make it unnecessarily difficult.

Had her for 315 and wasn't really impressed by the way she teaches. However this class was much different and she seemed to actually enjoy the material more. Homework is an easy 100, but the three tests are worth 85% of your overall grade.

She makes the material as interesting as she can. Loved how she put pictures of students animals in her power points to start off each class. Do the homework and show up for clicker points and you will be ok.

Dr. Caldwell has been my favorite professor at UA. She is so fun and truly cares about teaching this class. This course was incredibly interesting and I've learned things that actually will matter for a medical career. 15% homework, just 12 online assignments. 3 tests, cumulative final, second test was a lot tougher than the first

Caldwell is a great teacher and person. Class was not mandatory (no clickers) and lectures were put up on Tegrity. Tests were okay but not easy, especially since she did not award any partial credit, even on questions where you had to select multiple answers. Tests were all online on Blackboard. She was very helpful during office hours.

Kim is an absolutely wonderful professor who teaches a very interesting course and has been extra accommodating given covid. Whilst some in the class believed she should have awarded partial credit for exams, I can't say I agree as the tests and homeworks were all very easy. She tests your understanding, not your ability to memorize.

Definitely take this class! The content is so interesting and the tests are reasonable. There's quizzes, but a lot of them are done in class and you can work together on them, and they're relatively easy.

I had to retake BSC115 this semester, and I regret not taking Caldwell sooner. She is a wonderful woman with a lot to give. She is very accessible to her students and will take the time to help you if you ask. I liked her as a professor so much that I am taking her again next semester for a different class.

Dr. Caldwell cares about her students deeply and provides all resources you need to succeed. Go to class, put the work in, and you will be fine. Enjoyed this class and professor so much!!
