By far the happiest person I have ever met in my life. As long as you do what she says, and do all of her very tedious homework assignments (they aren't hard) you are guaranteed an A...no worries...take her, she's crazy!! but you love her..

very very very happy person. always willing too help out students and tries to make the class entertaining. its just sad that there are rude people that try to put her down in a sarcastic way in the class. assignments are way too easy for anyone to complain. great taecher.

She is a beautiful person, in and out. Has had some tough times but is still dedicated to her job, her life, her health, and the art of writers. Her clothes are FANTASTIC, and Kim is the perfect person for the phrase, "Look Closer." There's a lot more to her than you think. She is the best at COC

Kind of funky, but once you get used to her she's great. I totally ended up loving her by the end of my class and she really cares.

Very enthusiastic lady! She's so funny! She doesn't take late homework and expects a lot from you. I think she's a tough grader but that really helped me. She has a technique or I guess they're sort of guidelines for writing essays. She tells you exactly what's in the essay so it's sooo easy to write a 5 page essay or more! Very helpful teacher! She's always smiling and never in a bad mood!

easiest eng class ive ever taken. all we did was write like 4 essays- at a really slow pace. the only thing is you have to be in class for the workshops, and she gives HW each class. but its simple stuff.

Ms. Gurnee is a very easy going person and is very helpful. She is very upbeat and has a great personality. here are 4 essays and she grades pretty hard. I suggest that for a better grade you have her look over a rough draft thats really helpful

A positively lovely woman. The class is so fun and she's always pleasent. She assigns a lot of homework and can be a tough grader, but you'll come out of her class a much better writer. Highly recommended

Kim is absolutely great! She has turned what I thought would be a very boring class into an exciting and fun one. She is caring, helpful, and sincere. She helps make the class fun while teaching the material with clarity. I would recommend her to everyone.

Gurnee is a very nice lady, but loves english a little too much. Her essay topics are hard, and she is not the easiest grader. Only take her if you want a loooonnngg semester.

kim is really nice and cares a lot about whether you understand the material or not. i found the class to be pretty easy but i ended up with a B because i didnt turn in all my homework so make sure you do it!

Kim was great. She graded easily, and if you show interest in the topics and participate you'll get an A or B. She is very passionate about English. Class can be a little boring at times though, but worth taking.

She is cool. She has a good attitude everytime she comes to class. She is very easy when it comes to grading papers. It was fun to be in her class because you don't see a lot of professors with energy like she has, and she seems to want to be in class.

She's always full of energy and vivacious. She makes English fun, even for people who are only taking the class as a requirement for GE. Easy A, as long as you pay attention.

mrs. gurnee is a great teacher. she is very helpful and really wants you to pass her class. i definetly recomend her for eng 101

I took her in her first online course that she taught. She was the greatest teacher that I probably had since I started taking classes again. No I didn't get an A, but I did get a B. She is very helpful, and always answered my questions the day that I would ask them. I suggest that you take her. It is a great experience. Just don't be a slacker!

Gurnee is truly an excellent teacher. She is passionate about English and extremly helpful. She is willing to help you out on paper, assignment, etc. She is very flexible about things and I actually enjoyed her class. She is very energetic though, so be prepared for that, especially if you have her in the morning. But I higlhy recomend her!

She is a great professor. Highly recommend this class. You will learn a lot from her. You can feel her passion of English teaching. And she is also very patien and willing to help you pass the class. All in all, she's kindly, patient, and knowledgeable.

Kim is an ok teacher. the class is pretty easy but she is a stickler for turning everything in on time and being on time. She also talks to you like your in elementary school. But it makes things easy to understand but if you dont like being talked to like a child, then you wont like her.She is a good teacher overall though.

Miss Gurnee is overall a pretty good teacher. She is really positive and always happy and cares about all her students. Things to look out for: she gives ALOT of homework, she is a stickler on attendance, she will not accept late work and make sure to keep very very organized!

Gurnee is very easy, resembles a Kindergarten teacher because she is always happy and helpful. I got C's in HS in english but an A in her class, she is a very easy grader. You can get by with skipping some classes but she does offer random 20 pt assignments that are incredibly easy if you are there. I would suggest her to anyone

Kim Gurnee (Pronounced GUR-NAY) is a extremely helpful professor. She is my favorite teacher at COC so far. She is energetic, and always nice. All she asks is for your attention. Take her class, and you will not regret it.

she smiles alot which is nice and does have alot of energy. she does want to help the students and the book is needed for inclass and take home quizes as well as used for essays. there were four essays and a final. i didnt LOVE her but shes a good teacher.

Class was boring but you must show up. All you have to do is read and you will do fine. She talks to the class like they are little children, that was annoying.

LOVED HER! she's so nice and happy all the time it's ridiculous. class is very very easy as long as you show up for quizzes and do the homework. great teacher i totally recommend her

Gurnee is by far my favorite teacher. Wished she taught all the subjects I have to take. Her classes are VERY boring, but you learn to build Patience with her. She is very helpful and understanding. Just as long as you show her respect as well. FYI Do NOT procrastinate with all the hw assign. that she gives out. you will be screwed

Linguistics was by far my favorite subject this semester thanks to Mrs. Gurnee and her amazing class. She's the sweetest lady ever, and she will help you in any way she can to help you pass. Tests are straightforward, homework's easy. I learned a ton of cool stuff in this class, and enjoyed it. Am golden.

This class is easy. If u have any problems with ur paper she will help u out. There is extra credit, just do the work. You will go over ur paper with u and help u out easy A if u do ur work and reach out for help.

Seriously the BEST English teacher I've taken so far! I wish I can take all my Eng classes with her! She is SUPER helpful and so sweet! There is a decent amount of work but it's reasonable and doable.

I love her! If I could take her for 101 I would. She is happy and caring about her students and her class is very interactive. She is perfect for teaching essay concepts!

Great teacher! Had very positive attitude and made the class enjoyable. I learned more from her than the book. Watch-out for surprise quizzes, especially after holidays. Lots of work that will keep you busy all semester but nothing too hard if you understand the material. She's willing to help you if you are having problems. Highly recommend!

Very, very nice professor! She is extremely helpful and accommodating of any needs and displays a lot of passion and knowledge for what she teaches. She does, however, give a lot of surprise quizzes and busy work. While it gets annoying at times, it does not retract from her teaching abilities. Definitely recommend her!

Prof. Gurnee is an adorable woman whose passion for Linguistics shows in her teaching. Only thing that bothered me was that we did not cover a lot of material at the end, but she still tested on it. Other than this, she is wonderful.

Professor Gurnee has a heart of gold and a go-getter attitude. She is supportive, understanding, concise, and professional. Her class was a pleasure to take- though the workload was stressful at times. I recommend taking her class!

Professor Gurnee is great. As long as you do all your work and turn everything in on time, you will get a good grade. Don't procrastinate and stay on top of your work and attend class. She as an all around very sweet person always there to help.

Very nice person, to the point where it is kind of eery. She assigns way to much work for a 3 unit class but it all easy. Did not really teach everything I didn't already know. Four essays overall, the fourth is a revision of the second essay. Only recommend if you're ready for pointless hw every single day

She is an amazing teacher. Just do what she says and you will be fine. Go to the TLC and get ur essay revised and stamped for extra credit. Very clear on what is expected in her class. LOVE HER!!

I'm taking her class right now and she is the sweetest thing! She really cares about her students and she's very respectful to everyone in the class. She's always in a great mood and her class isnt hard at all, and when it does get hard she's always there to answer questions and help you. Best teacher ever! I wish she taught all of my classes!

Gurnee is beyond nice, and she puts a lot of work into grading your essays, gives thorough input on everything. Lots of group work, good class to meet people. The only downside is how much work she makes you do, there is tons of classwork and homework due every class. Also quite a bit of reading. Honestly a great teacher though.

Gurneé is by far the best professor I've had while in college. She is extremely helpful and gives you the grade you deserve. She is consistently happy and is the most inspirational teacher I've ever had. There are a few research papers but they're fairly easy and doable. She loves group work. I would definitely take her class again.

I LOVE PROFESSOR GURNEE!!! I am not a fan of English and writing essays. I had no idea how to even write one. Kim Gurnee is such a smart beautiful person. YOU NEED TO TAKE HER CLASS!!!!!! Professor Gurnee is an amazing, caring person. This is her first time teaching English 96, so she really into her teaching materials. She knows what she's talking about and knows what she is doing. She is always on top of grading and giving detailed feedbacks. I would take her again for other classes! She's a fun, good vibe person to be around with

Professor Gurnee is super nice teacher. She's also so great in inspiring to write your essays.I wish she would teach in English 101H. Only one thing was she DID give a lot of assignments and works to do. If you're good at english, you will easily get an A from her.

Professor Gurnee is such an amazing person !She is very helpful and cares about her students. She has about three essay assignment and the midterm isn't hard. As long as you keep up with all her work you should be just fine. She's very understanding. Try your best to not miss a class because you will stay behind. I highly recommend her !!! -096

I LOVED Professor Gurnee! Be prepared for a lot of annotating and journals. Its EXTREMELY easy to get a great grade as long as you DO YOUR WORK! She is SOOOO helpful and allows lots of extra credit. You can turn in essays for higher grades, and all quizzes are open notes. ALL the work is easy as long as you do it! She makes essays super easy too!
