All through highschool i got 50s and 60s in math and her Intro to Calc class got me a 95... shes an amazing prof. Gorgeous too!
She's very enthusiastic, clear, and makes learning about Stats as fun as it probably can be. And she's a totally hot babe.
Kim took the most confusing difficult differential equation questions and made the most beautiful "how to solve" flowcharts I have EVER seen, if she didn't exist I would not have passed the course.
Honestly amazing prof! Totally cares about all students and will go out of her way to help you regardless of what time of day it is! Also tells you lots of stories in class to keep class entertaining.
Best prof at Guelph by far.Super helpful and friendly!
Greatest prof ever. She goes so far out of her way to make sure her students actually understand the material. LOVE HER!
Amazing prof. Sincerely cares about her students. My mark went up 25% from STAT2080 to 2090. She even came in on Saturday before the exam to help with any last minute questions. Always was available and could explain all the concepts in a way that made sense. She made coming to STATs class fun as impossible as that seems and she has great stories.
Very friendly, and very easy to understand the material taught. Her examples are straightforward, HOWEVER!! The exams are extremely cheap. Don't expect to see things you were taught in class on the test. The test material will almost always be things you've never seen before, and have zero examples of.
One of the best math Profs I've ever had. She's very thorough with her examples and stops to make sure everyone is following along before preceding. Very enthusiastic, you can you tell she loves teaching :)
Easily one of the best teachers I've ever had. Helpful and devoted inside and outside of regular class hours.
Kim kills it!
thumbs up!
Literally the best professor ever. I actually love her. Go talk to her. Be her friend. She's awesome.
Kim is without a doubt the BEST professor there is to have at U of G. Seriously, she is FANTASTIC in all accounts. Her lecturing style captures your attention and keeps it for the entire period! She has analogies and stories that allow you to really attach to the material too. She is soooo available for her students too!! Goes above and beyond!!
100% the kindest, most helpful, most caring and friendliest professor there is!! Guaranteed you'll love her and her lectures!! Makes Math lectures a joy to be in with her enthusiasm and hilarious stories. You put in the effort and she will match you 10 fold in order to see you succeed! SO dedicated and SO helpful!!
Kim is the BEST professor you will EVER have. Seriously. She makes even the most obscure concepts seem like a breeze. She is completely dedicated to you and your questions and goes way above and beyond to help you out. SUPER amazing lecturer - captures your attention and holds in all class without you realizing! Amazing professor - take her class!!
Kim is the best professor that I have had so far. She makes math super easy to learn. She is willing to explain it 855 different ways in order for EVERY student in the class to understand. She's there for us on a personal level too, saying that she wants to be our "university mother away from home". She is guaranteed to brighten your day!
Kim is an amazing professor, MATH 1200 was easily my favourite class of the semester. She is ALWAYS willing to find a different approach if you don't understand in-class examples. She constantly checks in on how the class is doing mid-lecture. Go to office hours! She goes over whatever and make sure no one gets left behind.
Best first year Prof at Guelph. Period!
She's a great prof, but you really have to pay attention in class or your grade will drop like crazy.
Kim is easily the best prof I've ever had. Very enthusiastic, and more than willing to explain concepts in many different ways until everyone understands. Lectures are entertaining but tests can be a little tricky. Not a problem if you ask her for any help at all, though.
WORST GRADING I HAVE EVER SEEN. LOVED HER THROUGH CALC 1 AND 2. STARTED TO HATE HER DURING THIS COURSE. NO MATTER HOW MUCH PRACTISE YOU DO IF YOU DO NOT KNOW HER LITTLE WORDINGS YOU'RE DONE FOR.
very approachable, passionate, fair, helpful and super chill... she makes uoguelph a better place...
Professor cares a lot for the students and puts a lot of effort into making her own book with relevant examples. I know she has changed it now, when I took the course there were homework assignments due every week and they took too long to do. However, she is great at teaching!
Kim was definitely my best prof this semester. She explained concepts really well and made class fun. I ended up performing better on math tests this year than i did in grade 12 calc. Feel blessed to have Kim again for 1210.
Kim is a godsend. She is funny, understanding and genuinely cares for her students. She makes Calc an hour long Calc lecture fly with her superb analogies and quips. Overall Kim is a genuine teacher who really cares for her students. So if you out an effort on your end, I promise you she won't disappoint. Go Kim.
Kim is easily the best prof you could ever have at Guelph, she's caring and makes math lectures much more enjoyable. If she sees that you put in the effort, she'll put in 10x more the effort just to help you succeed. if you get the chance to have her as a prof, you're a very lucky person.
I had Kim for not only STAT2120, but also for first year calculus as an engineer. She's an amazing professor that loves to tell you stories about her life or her puppy. She's also very helpful and understanding if you have issues with any of the material. I advise attending her lectures as they are a treat every time!
Kim is by far the best prof I've had. She uses workbooks to prevent students from needing to buy a $200 textbook. Amazing lectures. Workbooks are fill in the blanks, so attendance is fairly necessary.
Kim is amazing. From first year calc to second year stats. She will make you want to go to class with her funny stories, jokes and the pure fact that she wants to be there. Kim isn't just a great prof she is a great person, no matter if its a math or personal problem she is there for you.
Kim is by far the best prof I have ever had the privilege of knowing and being taught by. She went out of her way to help me, not during office hours and always asked how my day was going and how life was. I will miss her so much.
Absolutely amazing. Made calculous fun. She was funny and engaging and genuinely cares bout teaching. 10/10 would take again.
Kim is probably the nicest most caring professor. She really turns a usually boring class into one you look forward to attending, and is amazing at conveying information, and making sure everyone in the room understands it.
Got mad at me for emailing her too many questions.. claimed i sent her more emails than the entire class of 800 kids.. i sent her 7 emails.. would not recommend. Drags on lectures for what feels like hours. Lectures are pretty useless, if you're used to learning without a teacher it should be easy. Seems like a nice person though
Kim is one of the most sincere and driven beings that I have the pleasure to know. She WANTS you to be successful, and she WANTS you to engage with her content. She will go out of her way to help you if you require it, you just have to be vocal. She created an affordable textbook for lecture and homework use which is a significant perk to me.
She was amazing last year, I dont know what's happening to her this year, she's becoming a lot less accessible outside of class. Barely has any office hours and when you try to email outside of those hours, Goodluck trying to get her to get back to you. And she can be very rude if she just doesn't feel like answering your questions.
I honestly dont think Ive ever met a more selfless or amazing human being. Kim is an absolutely amazing professor and is super down to earth. She genuinely cares about her students and their sucess. I had her for MATH1200, MATH1210 and STAT2120 and as someone who previously didnt do well in calculus, I did very well in all of her classes.
She is vital to the engineering degree's first two years. Awesome.
Extremely difficult exams that she does not prepare you for at all.
good teacher if u work hard then you will be rewarded :)
The tests are a bit hard but she really cares about seeing her students pass. She tries her best to keep the class interested and focused in a pretty uninteresting course.
amazing prof
Math has recently become my favourite subject. As a 1st year Mech Eng student Kim is exactly what I was hoping for to impart the energy and passion for math that keeps students interested. Advice; do the for you to try questions whenever you can, and use the past year term tests to prepare for yours. Difficult but fair testing.
Kim was a great professor for calculus. She is great a teaching it and makes it fun and worth learning. My mark had great improvement from what I got in high school to this calculus course, because of her great teaching style.
Kim is one of the best profs at UoG! ive had her for math1200, math1210, and stat2120. She explains everything super thoroughly and always makes sure her students are prepared for the midterms/quizzes. Super nice and enthusiastic about what she teaches. i would 100% take her classes again
I love this woman. She was the only reason I was willing to walk all the way to War Mem. She's definitely a hard marker, but she feels very bad if the class doesn't succeed. Also she posts every lecture online which is super helpful!
Kim is a great prof who really cares about her students. Sometimes her enthusiasm can almost be too much but she keeps you engaged in the course. She is a great lecturer and is extremely available and willing to help outside of class always. She wants every student to do well and her textbook is amazing and very inexpensive!
She understands that statistics can be a boring course and truly tries to make it as enjoyable as possible. She loves teaching and truly tries to make her students do well. The midterm average was 80% and she replied by saying, "I am here to do my job and to teach you the material, not to shoot for a generic 65% average." Great Prof.
I had her for a rough 5:00-6:50 in War Memorial but I went to all of her lectures and succeeded in the class because I paid attention. The time made me want to doze off sometimes but she's really great at lecturing and going through examples.
No complaints about the professor. Her exams and quizzes were very fair and she hinted at their contents well ahead of time. This course in particular was very repetitive so lectures were very slow. But Kim injected her personal touch to the material, including anecdotes during lecture. That made lectures and tests quite enjoyable
Best prof I've had so far. Funny, exciting, makes lectures fun and not boring (especially since calc is pretty dry most of the time). Has plenty of office hours for extra help or check the discussion boards for help as well.
350 Characters isn't enough to describe how amazing Kim is. Her lectures are very engaging and fun to attend. She is also very accessible and her office hours are very useful. She genuinely cares about her students and will help you if you let her. Calculus is a difficult subject but having a great prof like Kim makes it a little bit easier.
Kim is a great prof. Presented difficult material in a clear way and made it fun. Wish I could have her for more classes in the future
She is one of the most amazing person I have ever met. Not just a great teacher but also a very humble and caring person. Took three courses with her and matt all of which were awesome.
I'd describe Kim as a little ray of sunshine on a dark day called first year. She is extremely motivational, concerned about her students and her classes seem like a show of your favorite artist: amazing and you can't wait for the next to go. I wish Kim could teach all my classes.
Best prof at Guelph. Loves her students, gives great feedback. Has lots of office hours, and is really encouraging if you get a bad grade. She looks over every students test after and emails them with feedback. 100% Amazing prof.
Kim is my favorite prof at guelph by far. Any chance you have to take a class with her is worth it. She is so caring for all of her students and is always trying her hardest to make everything about her classes accessible and easy to understand. Definitely an absolute gem of a prof.
Genuine bubbly understanding prof, you can tell she loves her job.
Amazing prof! Wonderful lectures, great at making hard things seem not so impossible. Cares about her students!
One of the best profs I have had, she loves her job and really cares about the students
Kim cares about each student and it is her goal for everyone to get a good grade, If you show up to class, you will do fantastic because she is the best teacher ever.
Prof. Levere is one of the sweetest and best professors I have had for the semester. Her office hours are so helpful and she is supper energetic and helpful. Looking forward to have class with u next semester. I promise I will do much much better next semester. Lots of love,
Amazing prof, very caring and enthusiastic
i would give Kim 20/5 if i could. THIS CLASS IS VERY HARD, but Kim does such a good job explaining things that she makes the class easy if you show up. Kim can always brighten up your day FREAKING BEST TEACHER EVER.
Tries her best to make lectures interesting even though sometimes it can be a little annoying and over the top. She is by far one of the best profs at Guelph. Fill in the blank textbook for lectures makes it easy to follow along and take notes. If you go to class and do some homework questions you will get a good mark.
MATH1210 IS WAY HARDER THAN MATH1200. you need to be doing the fytt regularly, don't expect an easy good grade in this course. Kim is still a great prof, really nice and makes lectures less boring. Lots of weight on tests so you better study.
I took this class fall 2019 and ended up transferring for 2020. I still felt the need to come on here a year later to say that she literally changed my life. Best prof ever and I truly miss her teaching. She will make you love math
Failed her course and I still have nothing negative to say about her. Grading scheme is designed to give you opportunities to make up for mistakes. She knows how to lecture. Is personable in and outside of lectures, genuinely seems to care about her students. Not a fan of math, but if you are then Kim is a great prof to have for those classes
Kim is a good prof in the sense she wants to see students do well and gives lots of opportunities to give extra help. She genuinely tries to keep students engaged during class and puts effort into trying to explain the material. As a 4th year student, I can say that she is by far the most difficult prof I've had in terms of the midterms and final.
Best prof I have ever had. Take her class if you can.
Kim is, and will always be a "math mom". She puts everything aside to make time for her students and makes sure they understand concepts very well. Even being online, I can feel her caring nature through the screen. Her recorded lectures will keep you so engaged that you want to keep watching more! You will make a mistake not taking her class!
I couldn't have asked for a more caring prof. Made the course super organized. Explained things really well. Tests were fairly easy, save the odd trick. Grading scheme was generous. You could see how passionate she was about sharing her love of math with everyone. She wrote the textbook she uses so you're notes are very well done. Would take again!
Kim is the best math prof or teacher that I have ever had. She seems genuinely passionate about the course, and cares about her students. After taking MATH*1200, I started disliking math, but now with Kim, I dislike it a lot less. If you enjoy math, Kim is the best prof for you. Definitely difficult, but if you do the work you'll see results.
sweetest person you will find at guelph. almost no way you do poorly in her course if you follow her instructions. what a respectful educator and a kind hearted lady
Great professor, makes sure everybody who has questions gets them answered clearly! I had her for 1200 and 1210 and loved both!
She's great. Do what she tells you to and ask for help and you'll ace her class and learn a ton.
The goat
I love Kim!! She makes lectures fun, always brightens your day, & I look forward to her lectures. She's always available to answer questions, & genuinely cares about your success. her tests are fair, just stay on top of hmwk & ask for help when needed & you'll be fine! I hope I can have another class of hers in the future. best prof at UofG!
Kim is dreadfully boring in lectures, going on about the same straightforward thing for hours then skipping through difficult content quickly. She has a test pretty much every week, always on Friday nights. They are not generous with part marks. Matt solos.
Hard test, hard marking, lectures are pretty boring, bad test times, skips over some hard stuff and then takes a full lecture filling in blanks on notes
Kim is the best professor I have ever had. She wants the best for her students and really sympathizes with them. I hope I have her again
Kim is so sweet and clearly is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the subject. I really like her and Matt's teaching style where they fill in the course manual since it's so organized and straightforward. There are a lot of tests, but ultimately she was fair and I appreciated having lots of opportunities to check in on my comprehension.
She is an amazing professor who is passionate about math and really cares a lot about her students. She teaches the content very well, and she provides lot of opportunities to succeed if you're struggling.
Really energetic and enthusiastic prof, her office hours is useful and almost always packed. She answers students online as well on courseLink. Her exam distribution is small, but there's quite a lot of quizzes to deal with. Considering two midterms and he exams, we have tests/quizzes almost other every week.
Awesome prof, lectures were super engaging.
Big fan
favourite prof
Literally the best professor I've ever had! If I could give Kim a 6/5 I would. She keeps lectures engaging even when she's teaching how to count in stats. She deeply cares for all her students and makes alterations to her course in order to lessen stress on her students. I with more professors were like Kim Levere!
Kim is an amazing prof. She is engaging, fair, and cares about her students. If you have a chance to take a course with her it's a must. Her tests can be a little difficult but she's a generous grader.
I always look forward to Kim's lectures and am genuinely sad at the end of the 50 minutes. She puts so much effort into creating the course manual and all the FYTT it contains, which sets students up for success. This course is definitely difficult, but doing the FYTT and asking questions allows you to write the tests with confidence and do well.
Such a kind and caring professor, her lectures were interesting and funny and she did a great job being engaging and making students want to come to her class. Her tests were super reasonable and she puts in so much effort to make sure her students are understanding. She is truly an amazing person and professor, total math mom.
Entertaining lectures and really tries to make sure you don't stress. More than enough practice for every concept. Extremely active in courselink discussions and always available to help. My favorite professor so far, would love if she taught every class.
Kim was a fantastic professor. She truly cares about here students and I was surprised by the effort she takes to respond to and create relationships with the students. With that being said the questions on her tests are very difficult and I felt like I couldn't always show off the level that I knew the content.
the most enthusiastic prof i have ever seen, especially when it come to math
She is a really good teacher in my opinion. Her tests are difficult to be fair, and she is definitely a tough marker. However, I think her spectacular notes, and lectures make up for it.
I can't recommend her enough! such an amazing professor and smart person. so sweet and welcoming to her students. the lectures are well worth attending. I did not study as much as I should have for this class, but I think if I had, it could have been one of my best marks, because she is just so good at explaining things.
My favorite proff. So kind
She makes term tests and exams more difficult than it needs to be, also has unforgiving grading schemes compared to other math profs. Advice for first years, make sure you're above a 50% before the exam, or master integrals before then. When she tells you to not stress about exams, take it with a grain of salt as I know a lot of people who failed.
Kim is a amazing professor who is clearly very experienced in teaching and is passionate about what she does.
Genuinely one of the most kindest, caring, and passionate lecturers I've encountered. Generous marking and even agreed to drop our test with the lowest grade. I struggled in this course (just difficult material for me to wrap my head around) but Kim made it much more enjoyable. My favourite teacher of all time.
Kim is the best! she's always super energetic and because she made the notes book for the course, she explains concepts very well and in multiple ways. highly recommend taking a course with her!
Amazing prof, by far the best prof I have had this semester
Responds to emails incredibly fast. Explains anything you don't understand in lectures. Always trying to make sure you succeed.
Entertaining and engaging lecture style but the assessments were overtly difficult. I've since retaken the course with a different professor and the assessments have been much more manageable.
Absolutely fantastic prof. Cares deeply about every one of her students and wants to see them all succeed. I asked her to help me review the results of a test that didn't go so well- fifteen minutes later she sent me a HUGE email going over EVERY SINGLE question and how to improve. Genuinely one of the most supportive people I have ever met.
The tests are much more challenging than they need to be, with many questions being application-based or very different from the material covered in lectures. Only 14% of the grade comes from anything not a test or exam. It is important to ensure you thoroughly understand the concepts for a test because she will often breeze by harder topics.
So enthusiastic, makes class interesting. Lectures fly by. Very millennial. Tests are fair. She is really good at teaching the material and moves at a good pace. You can tell she loves her subject and teaching.
Shes a great prof, make sure you go to lecture and study
Awesome and enthusiastic prof, definitely would take her class again
good teacher goes above and beyond. Test difficulty is so hard that teacher had to implement new grading schemes to compensate. Class average was under a 40 first two tests and she had to change how she made the tests.
Very tough midterms and exam
Lectures are fun, she teaches well, just tests & grades hard. There should be more test or quiz opportunities throughout the semester.
Kim is very nice and helpful with questions, lectures engaging, however most of your grade is decided by tests. everyone failed the midterms, I studied loads and barely pass. says tests are easy and to relax but when you get there its stuff you've never seen my lab not helpful math center made me pass, go often
Kim is a great professor! She's engaging and clearly cares deeply for her students. Use the Courselink discussion board for questions- she will answer so quick! Her tests are tough but not impossible. If you study her book, and do the mathematize multiple times, you should have no problem passing!
I wanted to select all the positive attributes for the tags. Kim is by far the best professor I've had at Guelph so far. She very clearly cares for her students and wants to see everyone succeed. She is always available to talk after lectures, responds to emails quick, and gives great feedback to help students improve, and is very understanding.
