She's an awesome teacher! if you're someone that struggles at math then you have to take her. she takes the time to fully explain everything so no one gets lost and we still got out 10 minutes early everyday. She helps you if you need it and lets you have a cheat sheet for the test and quizs.

i strongly recommend her. she is straightfoward and energetic. if you are not the homework type, she does not collect it, but you have quizzes every week. the quizzes are not difficult as long as you pay attention in lecture and study your notes. if you don't understand, ask, she'll help you.

very good teacher. if you are not good at math then take her. you dont even need to buy the book just use your notes to study. doesnt take attendence or count tardies.you dont have to work super hard to pass. just go to class cause if you miss it then ur screwed as material es expalined throughly in class. I have struggled with math all my life...her class made it...well, not easy, but understandable. She is very easy to understand and follow, and she answers questions well. I always felt well-prepared for her tests, I did well in her class, and I continued to do well after her class! I highly recommend her to anyone who has trouble with math.

Amazing! I took Ms. Pham's class (Algebra II?) ~14 years ago. So nice, caring, and CLEAR! Explains stepwise. Kim is helpful and really cares about how her students are doing in the class. Her quizzes/ tests come straight from the notes, so if you take notes...you should be okay. She definitely knows what she's doing and will help you if you're struggling. Good teacher!!

Her test are very hard. She admits that she picks out the hardest questions for the test. If you're a slacker, you're done for! If you study you should be fine. The summer session was way too fast and only3 days to learn about a chapter and a half. Dont take summer with her!!!

I love this teacher! She is so nice and cares a lot about her students. I'm really bad at math, but she made it easy to understand. There are mini quizzes once a week so you MUST go to class every day, but as long as you pay attention and do the homework the quizzes are easy. She also drops your lowest quiz. I definatley recommend her.

Up-beat, nice lady. Math G is for people that do not enjoy Math, there was a lot of complaining from the students with poor attendence/participation. I know she will not be passing a large portion of the class, but it is not Kim's fault. If you don't have a probelm with attendance this class is passable, even though it is fast paced/ton of info.

I am absolutely math illiterate, and she made it so easy to understand everything. She is a great teacher. The content isn't that difficult, and she goes over everything before the exams. Everything is straight forward, 4 test, 1 final, participation is needed. Attendance is not necessary but there is a quiz every weds. She drops the lowest two.

I really enjoyed Kim's class. I loved how she would let us know right away which kinds of math problems were the "spooky" ones and which ones were easy. The tests were pretty simple, she keeps them short and sweet without adding many tricky problems. the class is much easier if you have had previous experience in algebra. I recommend Kim to all.

Took her for regular pre-calc and summer trig. I love her to death (in a strictly platonic way). For me her class was really difficult partly because of the material that was covered during the semester. You either know the material or you don't. Other than that I think she's a pretty cool teacher, but her tests are hard if you don't understand what she's trying to teach.

Ms. Pham is an excellent algebra teacher. She's very fast but thorough and has no problem answering questions *as long as you speak up.* She's pretty laid back, but don't expect to be coddled. Fantastic came in a extra Friday while her husband was in the hospital to make sure students did well on the final. Really cares about your success more so than any other teacher I've had. I took three classes with Kim Pham. She gave me a love for math. She is very clear and is willing to show aternitive ways to approach an equation. She is organized and sticks very close to the syllabus. You always know what to expect with her. She's great.

I have always struggled with math, and she saved me! She is understanding if students are struggling, always willing to answer questions, and is super funny. She has an accent, but it doesn't impact the teaching. Hw isn't graded on correctness, and tests are reasonable. She bases her class on understanding, not getting through the curriculum.

Intermediate Algebra online should not be done if you have been struggling with math. Period. If you are self taught and understand math, or maybe refreshing up in math-this is a shoe in for you. I was able to put off most of my homework until the day it was due. 3 tests, 1 cumulative final. Lots of emails as reminders, not bad.

I was really nervous about this class but she made it a great experience! Good teacher and easy class

This is a summer review math class (VERY fast-paced) HW is mandatory as it's your only chance to practice the material and there is NO extra credit at all. A lot of people failed or dropped because they're not good at math or didn't study. Do not take a review math class if you are bad at math! Ms. Pham was very nice, willing to help, and funny.

She is the best math teacher U will ever have. If u don't put in at least 2 hours A DAY outside of class u wont pass. She will make sure u get the material. She teaches fast but if u tell her or she sees that u dont get it she will show down. . SHE IS THE BEST. The only way u will pass is if u work hard.

she had a heavy Vietnamese accent. hard to understand and she goes pretty fast in between questions..i had her class at 8am in fall of 2017 ... i have never taken a math class in my college life.. i did all my homework in mymathlab . i showed up everyday and got to class early to do the SIMPLE extra credit on the board every morning... i got a B .

Kim was a fantastic teacher. Geometry came fairly easy to me but she was still making class interesting and fun. Yes, she has an accent and a quirky sense of humor, but she's never intentionally mean and is willing to help you pass. Weekly quizzes were helpful to know if we understood the material. Not too much homework. Would take again 100%!

In class, funny, great at teaching. Grades fairly but wants work done well/neatly. Assigns little hw but what she does assign is great for learning and interesting to do. Quizzes have only 5 problems but are easy anyway. Tests have 30 problems, of middle difficulty. Responds to questions in class and encourages participation. Great at explaining!

I had a great time taking Kim's class. She really cares for students that work hard and is willing to work with anyone who's having trouble or have questions. I occasionally had to self-teach, but that doesn't mean her teaching was awful at all. She not only teaches well, but prepares you for calculus and teaches you her methods that lead to calc.

This is an easy class and you don't have to show up to pass you just have to do your homework and review it before the quiz.

Summer class for Linear Algebra (ch 1-7), her first time teaching it. Grade was based only off of 4 tests and a final worth as much as 2 tests. Homework was assigned but not required (I didn't do any outside of the first chapter). Easy tests, calculator allowed. Only mandatory attendance is on test days. She is funny and really cares about students

Linear Algebra, summer quarter. Extremely easy class. She has review sessions the day before the test, where she basically goes over everything that's going to be on the test. Also allows calculators on tests. Doing the HW is helpful, but not necessary, since it isn't collected and her review sessions go over the content well. Reasonable and nice.

I had to take this class as a requirement for my nursing major and it was really easy for me. You don't have to show up to lecture as long as you go through the lesson's powerpoints and complete the online homework. There is a short quiz every week and a couple tests every few chapters. Her lectures are easy to follow and she gives lots of examples

She is a great teacher. She has you learn the calculator so you dont have to do STATS the long way and even puts what function to use on the tests.

I took her class about 3 years ago, my first ever community college class and it was great. She's a great teacher and is funny. People didn't study for her tests and didn't do well, but if you don't put in the work, don't expect an easy pass. Practice problems from the textbook, correct them, and redo those problems, and it should be an easy A.

Kim is one of the best math professors around at WVC, she makes Stats much easier than its said to be. Her tests and quizzes all have such an easy flow for everyone able to understand. Every class, she tells not stress out, and slow down when solving problems. She also provides examples every class. She WANTS her students to pass!

Nice teacher

Kim is very open to answering questions and will help if you ask for it. Many students are scared to ask, but she is very helpful and will give hints as to what is on her tests/quizzes. Her teaching style is hard to follow at times. There is no homework. She will often tell students which problems will be tested. You get what you put in!!

I took 106 online with her over the summer. Her PowerPoints were good and the HW is optional. But it is a lot of information in a short amount of time, so be careful with your time management, and I recommend doing as many of the review problems as you can before each test. She is very fun and happy and wants you to succeed

Professor Pham is so sweet. She is very knowledgeable of the subject and gives power points with several examples and explanations. She does utilize an online math website which can be difficult but can see your progress nonetheless. No lecture, weekly group discussions, and a short quiz/hw assignment for each chapter. Easy if you do the work.

She is one of my best professors. She is very sweet and thoughtful. She is always ready to help or patient in explaining if you don't understand. A lot of homework but it's easy to get an A or B.

Professor Pham gives good feedback and only assigns 1 group discussion + 1 quiz for each chapter every week. It was a pretty relaxed environment, but the quizzes/tests are a pretty big part of your grade (there are 3 tests). She is very nice and flexible. Read the textbook and do exercises (if needed, watch the videos) to get an easy A.

Took Professor Pham's asynchronous Math 12 course in the Fall 2020 semester. Understanding and doing the homework (XYZ website) helped me do well on quizzes and exams as they are related. Weekly discussion posts, which are okay. Professor is helpful during office hours. Nice, kind, and caring. Professor encouraged me to take more math classes.

Uses Pearson mathlab for all assignments (including exams) so if you reply on partial-credit for exams you will get none. Great professor, very kind and understanding if you need to contact her (even though this is an async class).

Kind and caring professor. The class was async; the website MyOpenMath is used for exams/quizzes/hw while Canvas was used for the weekly discussion posts. All of the quizzes/hw are due the same day as the exam, but you have plenty of time to complete them. As long as you do hw/quizzes, the exams are essentially the same, no surprises.

Her linalg is extremely basic - covered about 50% of the content of other classes. All hw assignments and "quizzes" were due day before the tests, which were all just hw problems. Would correct your grade based on handwritten work, which you have to submit. Also sent out really endearing emails every week, so it's hard to dislike her. She cares

She's an easy grader and the Intermediate Calculus course was super easy and fun to take. Even though there was a lot of homework, the tests were completely the same as homework.

I took this class over summer and I think it is very manageable. There's a lot of homework and quizzes + exams every week but it is doable if you manage your time. Homework is not graded but it is a good study before taking quizzes and exams. Good luck!

Very good teacher. Keeps you up to date with everything. She goes out of her way to make sure you understand the material and she actually cares about her students. She is retiring next year so if you can take her for winter 26 i suggest you do.
