Maznicki was a great professor. She was always willing to help even if she had to come in on her time off. The class is a little demanding with quizzes every week, but this is college. It's not supposed to be a cakewalk. Micro was so easy because of her.

I had her for Gen Bio too, she's a hard teacher, but a very good one. You will learn so much which is the object of the game. Plus, most people who take Micro or Bio, want to be something medical related. Take her she's awesome.

She's excellent! Its the kinda of class you cant miss and you'll have to put alot of time into but as long as you have all the notes and study from them you'll do fine. A's are not out of the question.

One of the rudiest, nastiest people you would ever want to meet. Sarcastic and talks down to students.I would NEVER recommend her to anyone, due to her nasty sarcastic demeanor. Plenty of good instructors without bad attitude out there.

Slackers beware. You must come to class to do well. Shes a good lecturer and gives ton of notes. Her handouts are helpful on the tests, and she was always nice and helpful when I had to go to her office.

This is the professor that you want if you are serious about learning biology. She has an interactive class and has an open door policy in her office. You do have to work hard, but then that is the point isn't it. Great teacher and highly recommend.

I loved this teacher! She is extremely thorough and gives great notes. Study the notes and read the book-I got an A in the class and she made me love Science. Only the people who are not sure of themselves would take this teacher the wrong way.

Maznicki is AMAZING. SHe really cares about her students and will answer any questions. Her tests are tough but if you take notes they are all contained within them. I would take all of my sciences with her if I could.

Don't let the cirriculum fool you. Maznicki is a great teacher, howeverthe cirriculum is ardous at best. Those who rate her badly are those with poor study habits.

If you are going into the health care field, you will be well prepared after this class. Let me put it this way, I would feel very comfortable having a family member being taken care of by a nurse that has taken her class. She takes this class very seriously. If you are not willing to put in study time, you won't do well.

She is a tough but fair professor. If you need help, she will help you. If you don't understand something, she'll clarify it for you. Her profession is tough, so she has to be tough at it. There's no room for error when dealing with microorganisms. If you want to really learn about Microbiology, then I would suggest taking her course.

She is a good teacher, her subject is difficult and she tries to prepare you for more challenging classes in the future. She prepares you for a very competitive field (nursing). Study her notes, read the book, get a tutor or do study groupd. That's my best advise for success in this class. Also, if you need something explained see her after class.

I really liked her. Its a hard class but she uses real life exaples to help you understand. Her tests are pretty strait forward, they come right from the notes. You have to study.. its just that kind of class.

She is not the Incarnation of Evil that some claim her to be. Yes, she can be abrasive. Yes, she can be confrontational. Tests are challenging but fair and all material is covered in notes. Gave excellent study guides - USE THEM! Knows her stuff and you WILL learn a lot. If your skin is thin, avoid her. Otherwise, I highly recommended!

Two more notes: 1. She always gave good answers to any direct questions I gave her. Not always Miss Congeniality, but neither did she ever get nasty with me. 2. Most of the whiners who are posting negative were flunking what is a passable course. Note to crybabies - she is nowhere NEAR as harsh as the real world.

She is amazing, great teaching style. She goes into great detail and hints to answers and content of the test. She tells you whats on the test even if you dont study the book but you take good notes you will pass. Her lab exams and extra grades are helpful and direct you where to study for your exam. I got a B but an A was not outta reach.

after talking with several students that took another teacher for micro, I realized I made the right choice w/ her. The subject is a tough one, but she makes it a lot easier. She breaks things down and explains them in great detail. She offers helpful analogies to help you remember things. I strongly recommend her.

She is very nice. Her tests are ridiculous though. She wants us to memorize the most useless information. Who needs to know the exact details of all the biochemical tests we used in labs? This is stuff we will never use. I did okay on the exams because I just took Bio1010, but people who took in a few semesters ago really struggled! good luck

I dont know what all these bad reviews are for. This was my 2nd time taking this class and I did SO much better with her. Notes are crystal clear (STUDY THEM!). Pay attention and show up to class and you'll do fine. I barely used my book and passed the class fine! Her personality is a little abrasive but overall, good professor.

I love her! She was an awesome professor. I?m coming back to school to study Pre-Med. The class was easy and the notes she gave great. I did well in the class and was pleased with my grade. She is knowledgeable in her field. If you have questions go to her office. She is always happy to help! Show interest and she will show interest in you!!!

I agree with another student, I do not understand what the bad reviews are for. Prof Maznicki is awesome. I did not do well in Biology yet am doing well in microbiology. She makes it very interesting and is very helpful. I would take her again!

She is an awesome teacher! I took her for biology, and currently am taking her for microbiology. You definately have to put time & effort into the class. Her tests are straight from the notes, and she is eager to answer any questions you have. She thoroughly explains everything & gives examples.

She is one of those professors you either love or hate, and I happen to love her!! She is VERY smart and gives great analogies. DO NOT miss class, it's so interesting! Suck it up, she's tough and the class is hard, but it's easy to get a good grade if you try. I think all of the people complaining didn't try hard enough.

Want to learn? TAKE HER! She definitely tries to prepare you for future courses. She is always available in her office if you need help and is very approachable. Nice attitude just do not be stupid; follow the lab rules. Only complaint is the tests are critical thinking. Even though they are multiple choice you have to break down each question.

Attend class/lab, you'll do fine. You must study, tests are VERY hard. Lectures are long but she gives you her notes so you can concentrate on listening and not have to write a lot. She comes off very intimidating, but overall, I've had worse teachers. Other micro teachers make you give oral presentations to the class, she doesn't.

She's a good teacher. MCB isn't easy-you actually have to study. Maznicki knows her stuff, and is willing to answer any questions. She is not rude or condescending in any way that I saw, though some here say she is. I recommend. You will learn alot with her, unlike too many professors at SCC. Study her notes over what's in the textbook.

Loved her. I took her for General Bio and Micro. She is very clear. YOU KNOW WHAT SHE EXPECTS. You will learn from her and if you need help, ask and she will give it. All her lectures are already outlined for you. It comes in very handy and you are able to listen more to what she is teaching then trying to keep up with notes. STUDY FOR TESTS!

WOW! She is one smart cookie! She can explain just about everything about this subject! This class IS TOUGH! If your not a disciplined student this will not be an easy A,B,or C! This teacher is not for those who are poor test takers. Her questions are worded in such a way that need to have a detailed understanding the material SHE presents. Don't bother with the new edition of the book; 100% of the material comes from her notes and lecture. She give you the reviews for the test along with your notes. Use them!

Love to listen to the history and real life stories she told about microbiology. Funny and fascinating. No homework, lab quizzes or reports. Bonus pts on every test. Take good notes or tape her. Every detail could be one of the choices on the tests. Half of my class got As and Bs.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER! The only reason for these "bad reviews" is laziness on behalf of the student. Micro is a hard class, but if you pay ATTENTION, you will do fine. She is more than fair, but the class is still VERY challenging.I would have learned 10x as much had I taken her for Gen BIO. Show up, work hard, and you will truly learn the material.

She is awesome! The class is not easy by any means but if you show up, take notes and ask questions you will pass! She would even answer any questions you had either in her office or by email. She is very helpful if there is something you do not understand. Wish I could of taken her for Bio too!

This class is rough! Work hard, do the homework and show up and you'll get an AB. The teacher. She uses time wisely and is a great lecturer. BUT she's RUDE. The class is dead quiet 99% of the time, no questions from the students.. why? Because she answers your question and also gives you a backhanded comment. She knows biology but not people.

Dont expect an easy A. very thorough and goes over every little detail. She uses up all of lecture and lab time so dont expect to leave class early. Professor Maznicki is cut and dry. She has a syllabus for a reason. Read it, follow the directions, and don't complain when she doesn't budge on an issue. She is a great lecturer and tells great stories to tie into the content. She expects you to learn and put forth the effort to earn the grade. I have great respect for her teaching style!

I wish Prof. Maznicki can teach all my health science classes. she is very energetic and funny in class, which helps you acquire the knowledge faster and more memorable. The learning system prof. Maznicki implemented in the class really works in student's benefit. The homework, quiz and test really help us to acquire the knowledge of health field.

Amazing professor! She is so good at teaching the material in a way you can understand. Mirco is a hard class so you have to work for it but she makes it easy to understand and very clear.

She became our teacher midway through the way as the current one was failing the students. No one was passing the class. I thought I was dumb until she took over. She made the material understandable and connected the pieces. I went from an overall F in the class after my second exam to an A as my final grade. Do your part and study though.

If you do not study, you will fail. She gives lab practical exam and lecture reviews and goes over them during class. She cares about your success!
