Kim is a great teacher. She's young and easy to talk to. Kim insists that you call her Kim, not Ms. Owens. I loved her class, she makes it really fun and easy. She always answers any questions and is there before and after class. I recommend her to anyone

The class was alright, Kim is very understanding and seems to be laid-back. Grades a little bit tough on essays, but if you dont do well on them you can redo them which I thought was great and very nice. Will work with you and help you on papers if needed. Overall a decent teacher

Ms. Owens is a cool teacher to take for any class. She is very helpful when you need it and she always tend to make the class interesting and fun to attend every week. Knows what she is talking about, has spent a large amount of time exploring popular culture and some of the philosophy behind it. Grades strictly, but gives you the chance to re-write your papers. Is always willing to help a student understand more clearly.

I absolutely dread writing, but Kim is an extremely insightful and helpful instructor. If you do poorly in this class it is your fault, she sets you up to succeed. If you are not happy with your grade you are allwoed to rewrite. The course is well laid out and every paper builds to your last. Take any of Kim's classes!

I love her class, it is so much fun. All she requires is that you show up having done the required reading and be prepared to discuss it. You have to write a few papers and have quizzes over the readings but you can rewrite the papers and the quizzes are easy. She teaches you tons about critical reading and makes the reading and writing very fun.

Owens is a tough teacher but fair! If you show up and pay attention and do what is expected you will not only pass you will learn something! You can use notes for tests, so read the material and take good notes! You can also revise graded papers! Owens is very witty and made the class interesting! :)

Kim is awesome!!! English has always been my passion and with Kim's help, I may change my major. She lets you rewrite your papers. The quizzes are crystal clear. There isn't any excuse to fail her classes.

Owens was a funny teacher. Expect to work hard for your grades though. Only class I did not get a 4.0 in. You can revise your papers at the end. I highly recommend making the effort, she will grade much lighter the second time around.

Hilarious. Made a three hour long pop cult class (in Clio of all places) extremely enjoyable. She grades fairly, and expect to do quite a bit of work and higher level reading. The material seems completely incomprehensible in the beginning, but you will be amazed by your understanding after discussion. I eeked out a 4, but it was so worth it.

Making english entertaining is hard to do but some how she did it. Owens is funny and helpful. Papers are easy and she grades fair.

If you want to actually improve your writing skill take her class. She grades tough but fairly. She is an excellent teacher and very willing to help. You have a chance to redo your papers to increase your grade and she is always willing to discus your papers grade too.

Kim is very helpful. She gives you so much time to revise your last paper. Shewants to make sure you understand what you are doing. And I believe she wants to see you get a decent grade in the class. If you are willing to do the work she is more then willing to help you out. We were able to use our hand written notes in class for all our test.

Best English teacher ever! The only quizzes she gives you are based out of the book, so read for sure. You write 3-4 papers and then your research paper. She gives you the option to revise every paper until you reach a passing grade and she accepts EVERYBODY'S writing styles. LOVE HER!

Kim is OUTSTANDING. She actually works with you and doesn't treat you like you're a bothersome. She allows you to email your paper to her many times for corrections before the final draft is due. If you turn the FD on time and don't like the grade she lets you revise it and turn it back in for a higher grade. I HIGHLY recommend her!!

Prof Owens is a fabulous instructor. She makes sure that you're not just writing to get out of the class, but to be able to write in the 'real world.' She is VERY strict with her grading, but allows revisions as long as the paper was turned in on time. I highly recommend taking advantage of emailing her papers prior to the due date. BEST PROFESSOR EVER! She is very easy and straightforward. All of her quizzes and exams are open notes. She makes the class very interesting. She lets you revise your papers if you turn them in on time and you have a full week after the due date to turn it in for full credit but, you cannot revise it. Loved this class.

She will help you out with your papers and if you don't like your grade you can fix it and turn it back in for a better grade.

Loved her for Honors English 101 so I made sure to take her again for English 102. She rocks - makes a 3 hour class enjoyable and flies by. Mandatory course book but costs only $5... no excuses there. Really cares about her students with a very open classroom. Made my first year of college a very easy transition - wish I could take her every year!

So glad I took another English class with Owens, she's one of the best English teachers I've had. Willing to help you improve your writing so long as you put in the effort and time as well. owens is awesome! took this class in the summer and it really was a breeze shes funny and it made the 3 hours fly bye! more of the papers are short 2 pages max the longest one which was worth the most points was 5 pages thats it! super easy super fun even threw a pizza party at the end shes great!

Kim was one of the teachers that made my first semester go smooth. Her grading are fair, she makes you enjoy her class and lecture, and most important thing, she doesnt require textbook! I would take her for English 102 but she doesnt teach it this semester. Take her without hesitation.

Best professor at Mott hands down. Best sense of humor. Accessible outside of class. Very helpful when giving feedback. Clear rubrics on every assignment. The book is cheap. Takes a while to get assignments back but that's about all (granted our schedule was cluttered because of snow/ice cancellations). Great professor!

Hilarious, absolutely funny. You'll be in stitches during her class. The classwork is usual for an English class, so it's essay heavy. She makes her own textbook, which is nice it saves you tons of money. She really gives great feedback on your essays though, and is really willing to help you out.

Kim is a great english teacher. I took her English 102 course online and I would reccommend doing so to anyone. She provides weekly video lectures that help you understand what is expected of you each week. The course was well structered and all assignments built up to the final essay at the end of the semester.

She was very easy to learn from. Although she had a lot of readings assigned before class, if you read them in her voice its fun. She gives time in class to work on homework and gives constant and helpful feedback. I've never like English, but she opened my eyes to how a good teacher can make anything happen.

I took this course online, it was the best professor for me to take! She was incredibly accommodating; she took my paper that I turned in at 11:59 pm instead of am. (Rough drafts are usually due at AM instead of PM so beware) I am not great at English and still passed this class with a high A. I even wrote most of my papers the night of!

Professor Owens makes ENG101 as easy and simple as possible, making this class a breeze. However with the quizzes, even getting 1/4 questions wrong will tank your grade. Professor Owens provides so many good resources for learning and makes it very easy to learn the material. Reading can sometimes get heavy but it really isn't a big deal.
